A shake of his head indicated it didn't matter, though they both knew that seeing as she didn't wait.At least she was proving that she was retaining information, that was nice. After all, one could only force so much information down another's person's throat. It was nice to not have to force her to digest and retain knowledge.
Needless to sat the ferret who was climbing up his braid gave a happy little chitter to the swaying that took play with that breeze. Sevilin seemed not to notice Nym nor anything else as his vision seemed to tunnel and focused in on Zahara and only Zahara, her hair being gently rustled by the breeze that her runing created. The wind swept look...it was undeniably attractive and seemed to spike in him an awareness of her prescense on his senses. Oh hell.
Oh wait, she was asking a question. Focus. "Yes, those as well." His voice had a certain...breahtiness to it, as if he was sighing while saying the statement. But he shook his head lightly and took back to pacing, one hand coming to rise and pet at the ferret that had made it to his chainmail covered shoulder. Which of course the ferret had to chew on the metal rings that he could get his teeth wedged in.

Male elegance. Two words she never actually thought she'd think together in the same thought, yet Sevilin embodied it. His steps were purposeful, even with no destination in mind and if you watched him, you could see the powerful legs straining against the material of his pants. She had a perfect view now that the tunic was gone, of both the waistband of his pants and the hints of what lay beneath but what disconcerted her more than anything else was the sight of him in that chainmail. Both arms bare, raw power encased beneath, he paced watching her and that caused her to swallow and turn back to her runing. She'd probably never forget the image of him slowly unbuttoning that tunic, his fingers slipping the buttons through the holes and just for a second she'd seen her hands taking over for him, or even ripping that tunic off, buttons flying in all directions. The breeze died as she wiped away the rune and a shaft of glowing light replaced it, followed by a puddle of inky black darkness. Both were there and gone in seconds and she massaged her wrist lightly while waiting for his next command.

Of course, Malik had already considered that, and had a plan to get aroudn that pesky thing with surface elves have such low fertility rates. Of course..that woudl require a little extra planar help...unless someone was savvy on this plane with that kind of technology.
"Yes, it's a good image."
a chuckle at her question about and comment about his ego.
"My ego gets too big it'll just suck you right in with it, it won't pop. besides, I thought you liked the size of my ego."
a little play on words...though after she was the one that mentioned about it being fetching how his ego made him think he could take on anything.

He seemed to be analyzing her performance a moment, though he wasn't really focused on those at all. It had seemed to become hard not to think on her at all. Mind whispering for one thing and warning of another. If he hadn't so much pride, he thought that he may very well of given in long ago. After all...who wouldn't? She had a certain alluring quality to her that he couldn't pinpoint but it was there.
But soon enough he found the train of thought that he had missed several stations ago. "Hm...well. I think that's it. Congradulations on passing your first test. Maybe you're not a complete loss at all on the matter. Frankly, I'll admit I'm impressed."
A little tilt of her head at him a moment before she allowed him a playful smirk. "Don't expect me to take up knitting thought." She just wasn't one for knitting at all. Not enough patience for it really." Though she shook her head in that 'men' way before another frown from poking her finger once more. "Oh the sheer horror." But a smirk at his double sided comment. "I never said I complained about the size of your ego. Just about some of the things it makes you do, Malik D'Vinn." And Piper reached over to the floor, grabbing up that jar of runing substance, dipping a finger in, then working it into the cloth over the little circle and symbol she'd draw, and then let Sevilin's tunic drop to the floor or now, eh she didn't care about it after all. Instead she was drawing something on her wrist in that almost clear gel, before she had started to follow it up with the needle she had, scratching at her skin enough to bring blood up as she was tracing what she had drawn. Malik better appreciate this...

All motion ceased for the barest of seconds while what he had said hit home and she stared at him for a moment. It had been her idea to do a mock test and here he'd been testing her all along. She wasn't sure if she liked the fact that she hadn't known or not. After all, she'd decided to fail her first one completely on principle, just to give Malik something to b***h about. Her cheeks flushed at his praise, he would never know how much each word of encouragement and praise meant to her. It galled her to see herself wishing for his praise, practically begging for it like a dog for a bone but that was the way of it, now wasn't it? And it wouldn't do her much good to get upset about it. If she was completely honest she had to admit that every time he showed an interest in her or was proud of her it twisted her up inside and not in an unpleasant way either. Especially to a girl who had grown up knowing that good deeds were expected and ignored, bad were punished. "Thank you Sevilin. I owe it all to my fantastic teacher. If it weren't for him, I would have never been able to do what I can." She moved closer and reached up stroking Nym gently around his ears and then under his chin. Such a sweet little fuzzball really. Turning her head to look at him she smiled softly and shrugged. "I never thought I'd be so excited about passing a test..."

He blinked at her perhaps in getting himself together over how close she was to him now. It was disturbing yet electrifying at the same time. "What? No yelling at me for my deceit?" He raised his hand as if to stop her from interrupting him. "It's been my experiance that when knowing one is tested...they tend to loose it all. It's best not to tell when a test is being given. There is in fact, a method to my madness."
Though he turned his head to Nym who had taken to chittering a million miles a minute at Zahara's petting before he shook his head and looked back to Zahara, still the facet of total calm and control playing on his features. "Are you trying to flatter me? You're not going to get me to let you reverie late." By Lloth was that a hint if humor?

A soft chuckle passed through her lips and she never stopped petting at the ferret's fur as she loved every chittering noise the ferret made. A small shrug and she shook her head, "If you had told me it was a real test I would have failed and not because of ability." Of course to be totally honest she may not have since she hated to fail at anything especially magical things. Her power had set her apart back home and she had locked onto that and held it for all it was worth. Amethyst met ruby and she grinned, "Me, flatter you? The only way I'd flatter you is if I had an ulterior motive and as you just stated, lessons still start dark and early so consider yourself unflattered. Now if you wish to negotiate we could maybe work something out...." Yes, she was teasing him. She didn't even mind the times anymore since her body had adjusted and now she her internal alarm clock lined up.

actually, he was rather concerned when she started drawing blood on her wrist. being training to know effective methods of killing..a wrong knick there could turn very serious very fast.
"Oh come now. you know as well as I do you are going to enjoy the hell out of bending Sevilin to your will, wether he knows it or not. so it isn't just me this time."
A slight smirk.
"I think the underfoot is rubbing off on you a bit."

"Oh really now...well, just remember that any test can be a mock and any mock can be a test and I'm not merciful for failed tests and what not. I make you star all over at the very beginning of the lessons." He crossed his arms lightly and he gave that lopsided grin of his again. "You still need to work on your swoosh marks though." Yes he was going to tease her about it. Which is odd as well for Sevilin.
A little shrug as he more or less dropped down and back into his chair, tapping his fingers on the arm of his chair. Well he was stuck here until his shirt was done. At least the view wasn't so bad as well as the company. Though he doubted she'd stay, no matter how much he wanted her to. Damnable thoughts.
She looked up idly for a moment as his concern pricked through thier bond nad made her aware of it. And she paused a moment to see if he was going to stop her, but when he showed no signs and only continued in his talking she continued as well. "I really don't care about bending him to my will so much as making the jackass at least tolerate me." That little proud of herself smirk and tone came back. "I stared him down earlier, and won." A little chuckle. "I suppose it is A'mael...finally."

"I was going to fail just on principle, you know, like I told Malik I would. But since I didn't know, I don't have to." She'd have to keep that in mind. Starting back over at the beginning of the runing lessons would have gotten old, really, really quickly. It was fairly apparent that she knew exactly what she was doing. True, she couldn't rune with her own essence yet but she gave it another few months and hopefully she'd be able to. Back to the matter at hand she curled her fingers in the air, where the ferret had been and leaned a hip against the table before dropping her hand to brace herself on it. "Well, my swoosh marks. How do you want to work on them?" That hand took to rubbing and massaging her wrist lightly, not because it hurt, but because it gave her hands something to occupy themselves with.

"Failing just to do it because you told Malik you would is foolish. He'd think you more of a child than he does now and would only use the incident as proof everytime you went to deny that allegation." Sevilin shrugged lightly, his own hands taking to giving attention to a ferret who had crawled down his arm and was now sitting on his knee on his hind legs, rubbing his head against the fingers that scratched at him.
Yes he had just pointed out the flaw in her little plan of defiance, and had also not called her a child either as he usually did, though he probably didn't catch that he had more or less taken her side. But he looked slightly up to her own eyes from his spot in the chair, staring at and holding violet with crimson a moment. "You can either keep trying till you get it right, or let me help you." And he regretted that the moment it came out, you couldn't give direct runing help without touching. Damn it. "But I would suggest you try on your own first. You just have to...not think about it when you do it."

Shockingly enough, now that the glaring light of rationality was shining down on her plan, it did seem rather petty foolish and well childish. It certainly wouldn't get her very far and probably only receive derision and like Sevilin said, he'd continue to bring it up every time she said or did anything. Malik wasnt' worth causing her to fail and she hated to fail, at anything but especially magic. Violet pools studied his profile for a moment before drifting down to the little fuzzball claiming the attention of Sev's fingers. Nodding she turned and scribed the levitation rune, waiting for it to activate then realized that once again her swoosh wasn't correct. So erase and try it again. Dammit. It was like a replay of the earlier failure, this one so much more poignant because she was trying so damn hard to get it right. Her fingers just refused to make the funky little symbol the book showed. Her back hunched and she stiffened with determination, refusing to give up. Trying again and again and again she tried not to think about it, tried to close her eyes and let her fingers do the work but no matter what she did the damn thing would not appear correctly. Finally she shoved away from the table and slammed her fist against the wall, wincing when her knuckles scraped the stone. That was smart Zahara, let's do that one again shall we?

Well well, she was determined about this wasn't she? But she didn't have much patience on the matter it seemed. Lifting Nym to the table and setting him there with a final pat, he got himself up and walked over to her, hands hesitating in the air a moment before they grasped her shoulders and turned her away from the wall and back to the table. "That's not going to help."
Taking a hand from her, but leaving the other one...it was nice to touch her, he scribed a rune on the table in the middle of her own runic circle, making the substance that composed it fizzle and then evaporate into nothing. Now there was nothing to tell her that she wasn't doing it right and thus frustrate her. She was still thinking too hard.
"Let me just show you." A finger placed to the table, posture rather straight as opposed to how her own had been and he quickly flicked his wrist to the side, a slightly glowing streak of a swoosh mark apperaing. "Did you see how I did that? You have to just..." Stepping behind her he pushed her forward some so she was closer to the table, but not touching it. Then a hand was pressed to her lower back to make her shoulders and back straighten. Keeping on hand braced on her back, the other took hold of her wrist and pulled her arm striaght, them pushed it back some to give her elbow the slightest bend to it, before setting her hand down on the table then it moved up to rest on her shoulder as if to prevent it's movement. "Alright, now with one finger...just flick your wrist."
Sevilin swallowed. Both hands were on her body and with her style of clothing, they were both on smooth warm skin that his fingers actually twitched a little in thier want to run over and squeeze at the soft ebony. Oh man...he had just ignigted some thoughts that were better left damp. Keep your composure Sevilin...

She was muttering things under her breath and not really paying attention to the feel of his palms on her shoulders startled her immensely. She was pushed over to the table and she stood there glowering down at it, the very image of her failure mocking her. She was not going to comment on his taking the liberty of destroying her circle and instead merely watched and glowered. Damn him, he made it look so simple. Really unfair if you asked her though no one did. She was just about to voice her objection to his question when he touched her again. Literally moved her body exactly the way he wanted it, one hand resting at the curve of her back right above her bottom and causing her spine to go rigid and the other manipulating her arm to the proper positioning. It took her a moment to pull her thoughts from things she shouldn't have them on and she moved her finger and wrist in unison but with him as close as he was and her as flustered as she was, a simple flick became a horrid squiggle. She attempted to move her shoulder but couldn't since his hand kept it pressed down and she tried again, cognizant of the fact that her shoulder wanted to move and mess her up. A frustrated sigh after she tried it three more times, "I can't do the little thing."

"Alright then, I'l treach you the way I was taught. No fussing from you." Because he knew that when he did what he was about to do, and she probably not going to like it. That all too familiar shift in the air as he brought up that runic circle of his under his boots. That in place he pointed a hand to her shoulder, and purposefully scribed a rune on her shoulder, letting it activate when he pulled his finger away.
The result? She would loose the feeling in her arm, as if it were asleep really. The trick to the symbol component was to move the wrist and the wrist only. Not fingers, not shoulders, not elbows, just a flick to the side of the wrist. His hand against her back pushed in a little more to further straighten her posture a bit and held pressure there to keep it that way, but his other hand moved to hold at her elbow, supporting her arm some. "Try again."
And keep your mind on the lessons Sevilin. That's all he had to remember for he was loosing it. She was just so close to him...close enough that he could pick up body heat and hear the movement of her clothes against her skin with his sensitive ears.
