Lengthwise It's a daunting task to read just the first one, it being about 800pages, but once you do I'm sure you'd get pretty hooked on that series. there are eleven books, each about 600 pages, each builds on the story, each book in the series that finishes and opens the door for the next. It's a good read if you like fantasy, with a good bit of sexual parts.

What series it that??!? The Eyes of God, The Devil's Armor, and the Sword of Angels trilogy... Great series.. What genre? The first book in the series I speak of is Wizard's First Rule. Good start to a very good series, but a bit of meandering to show what other characters that are important to the story are doing to get to the end of the book.

Medieval styled literature.
Prince marries a girl, she has a cancer that is killing her, so he sends his most loyal servant out to get an 'Eye of God', a necklace that will give her eternal life. Guy gets it, brings it back. And that's in the first few chapters. REALLY intricate stuff, but swords, arrows, and 'magic' to say the least.
