It was almost amusing to see just how quickly her worried face was replaced with a excited little beam the second Alisa started to turn the tables around in her favor. The sight of the strong man being completely bullied and humiliated by her was strangely exciting to watch, not that she enjoyed violence, she really didn't! As most knew. Still, she couldn't help her silly dreamy state. "You're so amazing! ...Making me worry for nothing..! " With hands clasped in front of her, she continued to watch the scene unfold with a small giggle. She had him in such a terrible position, didn't she? How could he ever let that go? Or recover mentally?
Buuuuut...no matter how impressed she was, it didn't mean she wanted her to fight with Ephraim, or anyone else for that matter, anymore. Really, she just wanted to spend some time with her in a peaceful, nice setting. Midgar didn't exactly have any places of real beauty unfortunately.
After ensuring the battle was truly over, Lilith had no reason to be afraid to go inside the room with them anymore, and so she hurried her way to enter through the doors. With Ephraim still under Alisa, she kind of just ignored his entire presence, her focus only on the blonde elf standing there so proudly! "...You're done, right? " She asked her, just as she slipped her arms around her arm, kind of clinging to it like a silly love-struck teenager. "You're so amazing...but you know what would be even more amazing? ....If we spent more time together..Can we do that? ..I don't know of any peaceful area's in this city..but as long as i'm with you, I will be happy no matter where we go! "

"Haha...That was so obvious to anyone with a brain that you let her win.." Ouch, poor Alisa and Lilith. They obviously had no brains according to Lily! "Are you trying to get them all lovey-dovie? At the cost of your own pride? I don't know if you're stupid, or just to nice or whatever...but I can beat that." She said with a suddenly growing, mischievous smile. That couldn't be a good sign. "This is a much better way of bringing people together.." She began to push in some buttons on the panel. "You're enemies aren't going to give you a warning when they show up. This is the way you REALLY train! " With another button pressed, the doors to the training room closed quickly, and the alert of the start of 'intense' training sounded over the loud speaker. Their training together was just them, and nothing to it at all really. But now, the rooms walls would begin to change, simulating a dark, empty building. A very creepy dark one at that. That's when robots (That didn't look like robots at all due to the advanced technology) began to appear around the room through opening doors, each one would hold the appearance of some kind of creepy zombie monsters and ghouls. She made sure to focus some of their attention toward Lilith, who reacted exactly as she hoped! She went very quickly from clinging cutely to her loved one, to hiding in complete terror behind her. She knew her little goofy fear of creepy things, monsters, anything ghostly or demonic. She was completely afraid of them. ""Welcome to Real Life! Where sudden moments like this happen everyday! Learn quick, defeat them quick. Easily! "

Alisa

User Image

Alisa turned her incredibly smug expression towards Lilith as she entered the room. "What does it look like?" Her voice was just dripping with smug confidence. "Ask him." Ephraim grimaced in mild irritation. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. Alisa was really riding the high of this victory, and so when Lilith got close to her, she would feel herself grabbed rather brusquely, pulled towards her, and she would feel one of her legs lifted as Alisa began to kiss her rather passionately. She held her in such a way that clearly conveyed Alisa had all the power in this situation. After a long moment of passion, Alisa released her, still holding that cocky smile on her face. "We'll celebrate this even more later." She said with a wink. Goodness, this really was bringing out that side of her, wasn't it?
She wouldn't have much chance to respond to Lilith before Lily found her way to the controls, apparently, and thought it would be funny to berate her then challenge her in such a manner. Alisa rolled her eyes as the apparent monsters began to gather, drawing an arrow. "You think this is any kind of challenge to me?" She raised the arrow, light music infusing into it, and a moment later she shattered it in her hand. Rather than just breaking the arrow, it shattered into a brilliant flow of powerful light magic, which flooded through the room and washed over the monsters, causing them to disintegrate rather instantly on contact. It would also have the bonus effect of acting like a flashbang for Lily. Turning after that, Alisa nocked another arrow, firing it towards the glass that allowed the one at the control panel to observe the action. The arrow wouldn't go through the glass, instead attaching to it and fanning out magic, opening a magical hole between the two rooms. And as it opened, it would also act like opening a hole into outer space, sucking Lily straight through so she would fly through the hole and land in the room with them. Placing a hand on her hip while the other still held her bow, Alisa gave Lily a look. "You want to take his place beneath my shoe?" She challenged, clearly unamused by her meddling. Alisa was practically on Cloud 9 right now--she didn't think there was anything she couldn't do. She was more than ready to take this girl on! Not that she expected her to actually rise to her challenge. She figured she was probably a bit too intimidated, hence using the training room control panel instead.

Lily could do nothing more then make a disgusted face, and childish grossed out noises at the scene between the two love-birds. "Ugh, Geeeet aaaa rooooooom! The training room isn't a make-out area!! "
As if Lilith even heard that, or maybe she completely forgot about the existence of the other two. Who knew, she became so excited when Alisa was like this, how did someone as innocent as Lilith enjoy such a controlling lover? Her cheeks were flushed completely red, though she clearly enjoyed every moment, returning the sudden, amazing kiss.
Then reality hit, and the evil problem child, Lily, would start her 'attack' on the three in the room.

"Heh heh...You'll use up all your magic before they're all dead! You can't possibly---!!" Well, she totally didn't plan for jumping so far back that she smacked into the wall at the other side. It wasn't a completely large room or anything, but boy was she regretting her choices right now. Not only was her ears ringing, but she now saw added spots in her vision. She may want to remember this ability for next time she decided to tease her? By the time her vision had restored, the last thing she saw was the strange portal looking thing in the glass, before she was sucked into it, and thrown into the room with them. "...................." She didn't plan for this. How did it come to this?! What a killer for her incredibly high opinion on her awesome self.
"......Hmph...Sorry, i'm not that weak. The day I end up beneath your shoe is the day hell freezes over. " ..Yeah, she may of felt terribly embarrassed right now, but nothing seemed to ever keep Lily backed down long.
So her main weapon was really..her hands? She could create magical arrows with them, so maybe that was what she really needed to focus on. If she could stop her from being able to call on her light magic, maybe she would then become as helpless as a little puppy! What a sight that would be to see. The annoying kid, taking down the older woman. She could dream of that day!

Focusing now, she began to chant something under her breath, which instantly created a swirling mass of watery magic under her feet, it would grow stronger within seconds, and fan out a few feet. With little warning, a creature that resembled a giant sea snake burst out of the watery pools around Lily, only to rush for Alisa. There wasn't a whole lot of distance in the room for her to quickly charge up another arrow with the sea snake flying towards her at rapid speed, but she hoped she would at least try! As Alisa's focus would remain on the creature heading for her, what she may not of noticed was the next tiny pool form under her own feet, had her focus remained on the giant snake, she would never see the smaller one shoot up from the pool, which would quickly wrap itself around her wrists, binding them together so she could no longer cast anymore arrows, or so she hoped.
Lily didn't exactly want to stall ether, as she took that second to slip into her white wolf form, charging for her immediately with all intent to knock her down onto her back had she still been bound. Had that actually gone as she hoped for, she would feel the wolf put heavier pressure onto her a bit, not enough to really hurt her, but enough to show she had control over her! "Look who's beneath little ol' me now?! "

Alisa

User Image

Alisa raised an eyebrow as Lily responded so certainly. "Why don't you wait outside for me, Lilith? This should only take a second." Her expression soon returned to the same smug, cocky expression it had been moments before. She would gladly put this brat in her place.
She raised her bow, drawing and nocking an arrow as the large sea-snake began to come towards her. "Is that really the best you've got?" Magic began to gather on her arrow... and then her bow and arrow clattered to the floor. "Wh-wha?!" Her wrists were suddenly bound?! What?! Did this... annoying brat really outsmart her?!
"Aah!" She was so flabbergasted and humiliated by this that she didn't even attempt to put up any defense against the wolf that tackled her straight down onto her back. Well, this was quickly becoming mortifying... Outsmarted and then put down by this irritating brat? Her bound wrists fell to rest above her head as she landed on her back. "Ung..." She let out in shame as she felt Lily tauntingly apply more pressure, and soon heard those horrifying humiliating words in her mind...
Ugh... How did this happen?
Still, if she thought she was done, she had another thing coming. Even though she was incredibly humiliated already...
As Alisa's finally was finally put down, though, she noticed something... she was sweating. Not profusely, but she hadn't even realized this. And she was breathing a little heavier, too. It was only once she was put down and the adrenaline was calming down that she began to realize how exhausted she really was. She had been training with Ephraim for a while before even any of this, and had already used a lot of energy and magic. She was a lot more exhausted than she realized. In realizing this fact, and that she was feeling so low on energy, she began to panic. What if she actually lost to this stupid brat? How could she ever live that down? It was bad enough losing to Carmen over and over, but this stupid little shrimp? Oh, god. Oh, god, don't lose, Alisa. Her pride couldn't take it. It was this panic-addled thought that spurred her into her next action--she expended every last ounce of her magic which shot from her body in an attempt to dispel all the magic in the area. This would force Lily out of her wolf form and back to her human form, and push her back slightly. It wouldn't throw her back or anything dramatic like that--just push her back a bit. Her thought process was that she was likely very weak in her human form, and Alisa could just overpower her if she nullified her wolf form. This dispel would last a good deal of time, disallowing Lily from accessing her wolf form for at least a few minutes. More than enough time for Alisa to overpower the stupid brat and be on her way.
...Except her limited amount of magic was focused 100% on Lily when she jettisoned the magic out of herself to use this spell. Had she not been so panicked when she used the spell, she may have realized she needed to dispel her binds as well, but that isn't something that registered to her. She was so panic-focused on not losing that she didn't assess the situation well enough. So what was left was a human Lily standing over an exhausted, bound Alisa who was breathing heavily and looked utterly, completely defeated. Ironically, her panic-fueled action in a desperate attempt to stop herself from losing is exactly what caused her to lose. Oops. Now if her feet were bound together there would be literally nothing she could do. But then, could she do anything anyway?
Her laying there, breathing heavily, looking utterly defeated with her wrists bound over her head... Ironically it was exactly the position she had put Ephraim in moments before in her attempt to utterly humiliate him. Maybe karma did exist.

Oh, the tension. While Lily had full confidence in herself, she couldn't help but also worry a tad. It was no joke that Alisa was extremely skilled, and far surpassed her, but still, Lily would always step up to a challenge no matter how dangerous it could be! "I have better, but this is just for fun, I don't think I need to bring out the big guns for a weakling like you! " Yeah, she really had a lot of nerve to say such untrue things!
Her grin widened as she watched her precious creation wrap itself around Alisa's wrists, binding them together. "Heh heh! Uh ohs. What'cha gonna do now, P-r-i-n-c-e-s-s!?! "Seeing her unable to escape the binds she was now in only fueled her belief that she really was completely amazing!
And now, she was the one underneath her, what more could Lily ask for at this point? I major award for her awesomeness? Ice-Cream? Just what did the young serenitian princess want other then watch Alisa struggle beneath her? "You should just say it....Say how a-m-a-z-i-n-g I am. Better be quick or you might face further humiliation! "
If a wolf could look cocky, Lily would master it as she looked down at the elf princess. "But for now, you can apologize and admit defeat to me now! " She didn't plan to stop, and had she not been riding so high on her own 'winning', she might of sensed the gathering of sudden magic, but she would fail to notice anything suspicious until she was not only pushed back a bit and knocked out of her wolf form. Lily's puzzled eyes gave her a look as she recomposed her self quickly. "Hmmm?? Wait....was that...oh..I get it.." She blinked again, snickering as she took a step closer to the still-bound princess, her foot now coming to rest above her chest a bit. "I don't think that worked out so well, hehehehe...! Did someone forget to dispel the snakey-poo? Uh ohs..." It didn't even occur to her that she really wasn't exhausted by HER doing, but from her endless training with Ephraim. Silly Lily. "If you ever hope to leave this room, you have to admit defeat to me! Say it quickly! "She could have summoned another little watery bind in the form of her cute sea snake, but why bother? She wasn't going anywhere, and her energy was clearly spent! "Say "Oh, great adorable, awesome princess of the sea, you are soooo much better then me! You alone defeated me!" She was so high on herself.

Alisa

User Image

"Uhng!" Alisa let out in humiliation as she felt the irritating girl's foot find its new home, perched on her chest. Seeing the small-framed girl standing over her, especially given she was a more well-endowed woman who obviously looked stronger--it really made it all the more humiliating. It didn't help that Alisa was so prideful. "...!" She grunted, her face reddening as Lily gave her demands. She was really in a bad spot, wasn't she? She had been outsmarted and defeated by this annoying little runt. What could she really do except submit to her demands? "...I-I..." She swallowed hard. "I... admit..." She paused for a long moment, before gritting her teeth. "Just get off me already!! I'm the princess of the Forest Kingdom! I'd never lose to an annoying shrimp like you! I'm just exhausted!! You have no right to step on me! I'd only be okay with Lilith doing that!!" Was that last part really necessary...? "Ughhh, off!!" She put all of her strength into lifting her leg, placing it against Lily's stomach and shoving as hard as she could. Which, in her current condition, wasn't very hard. But maybe it would scare her away at least. ...Probably not. After doing that, her leg flopped back to thee ground, as did the rest of her body, as she began to take deep breaths again. God, she looked SO utterly defeated. And felt it. This was mortifying.

"HMMM?? " She looked down at her, a tint of craziness in her prideful eyes as she waited to hear those words. "You admit....Spit it out already, you stupid old hag!!" If anything would get under Alisa's skin, it would probably be that. All forest kingdom elves seemed to hold a lot of pride in their looks, they were all very pretty, much like the rest of the Serenitian race, as strange as that was. It seemed she could sense Alisa wasn't going to utter the words she wanted to hear, so, insulting her a bit more wouldn't hurt her chances anymore, just further annoy her. As if she was really that old! "I can step on anyone I want! I don't care what you are! " Clearly, she really didn't! "Gah! " With one foot over her chest, and the other on the ground, it didn't make for a very stable pose, so even with her weak push, it did enough to at least get her foot off of her, and a tiny distance as she worked to regain her balance. "Hmph! It doesn't matter, you already lost to me! Don't try to cover it up with being tired..I win! You lose! Haggy-princess!" She really had a way with words.

It would begin to feel..a little chilly to Lily, as below her feet formed a thick sheet of ice,the bottoms of her shoes were now frozen to that sheet, making escape impossible. That sheet would be quickly met with thick ice walls all around it, while the top remained clear but tall enough that she couldn't even try to make an escape if her feet did get free by any means. Then, that little ice prison just seemed to slide across the floor, to the corner of the room. "..I'm sorry...I think someone needs a time-out! You are very rude, and ...I don't think you should even be in here..." She looked towards the now enraged Lily, who was attempting to break the ice with her fist with no luck. "I want you to apologize to Alisa, and only then will I let you out! "
"In You're DREAMS! I apologize to no one! LET ME OUT OF HERE OR ELSE! " She really was starting to look pathetic now!

Alisa

User Image

"Shut up! You stupid runt! You're just jealous!" Alisa could probably stand to be a little more mature than arguing with the younger girl, but she was very flustered right now for obvious reasons. As for what she was asserting Lily was jealous of, well, one could probably figure it out pretty easily. "You have no right to step on anyone, least of all me! Ugh, fight me again later, when I wasn't already exhausted, see what happens!" She said in irritation. "You know what! Tomorrow! Meet me here again, and we'll see how well you do then! I challenge you to a rematch then!" Alisa really wanted to salvage that pride of hers.
As her dear helpless hero intervened, Alisa blinked. This made things even more humiliating--she was supposed to be the one who saved or protected Lilith! Ugh... but... being saved by her was... kinda exciting... "I-I don't want an apology! Just get her out of here!" Staring up at Lilith while Lilith took control of the situation like she did... whew... Alisa... was... slipping back into her other side.

"Huuuh? What? What would -I- be jealous of? I think i'm pretty much p-e-r-f-e-c-t! Perfection, you know. Nothing you have I want, hahaha!! " She felt so darn smart, there really was nothing she wanted, as most girls might want, but Lily was still young, she didn't need that kind of thing to worry about just yet. "Besides, you have to wear annoying things to keep your big mountains contained. I get to be free, nothing in the way, nothing to bother me but a nice, fitting comfortable outfit. See? Perfection! That is me! Lily! " Now that she made it very clear Alisa was not someone she was jealous of, she had a good boost of confidence in her self. "I'll STEP on you more, if you don't shut up! Maybe I'll step on your face next time! Princess! " It was obvious by now, not that anyone here knew exactly who she was, but little crazy Lily was not so very princess-like herself! "Ha! Like i'm going to fall for that! I won here today, I'm not stupid enough to jinx it by playing with you tomorrow. Besides I don't want to make you cry in front of your little dove there! "

And in the next moment, Lily's pride and confidence went quickly downhill, frozen by the ice-prison she found herself suddenly in. Not only was she stuck here, but put in the corner, like a child in time out. What did Lilith think she was doing?! DId she really think embarrassing HER was the best idea? Oh, revenge would be had. But later, when she was alone! She would think of something! But first, she really needed to get out of this cold prison.

Lilith's face was...strangely beaming, for someone who disliked fighting. Apparently discipline wasn't so bad in her mind. But it all went so well together with also protecting Alisa, which in turn made her feel less helpless. She didn't want to just be someone who could never help, especially the one she fell in love with! With Lily's magic broken by distraction, the binds around Alisa's wrists were undone, and faded into the air. Kneeling down a moment, Lilith would position herself so that her hands were now against the ground, at ether side of Alisa's shoulders as she held herself up. Then, she lowered her face down to hers, placing a sweet, innocent kiss to her lips. What Alisa might not understand was, with the kiss, she was also healing her at the same time, for as long as the kiss remained. She thought it would be a cuter way to heal her! As her strength began to return, it might then occur to her exactly what she was doing. Finally, as she pulled away, Lilith's smiling face remained as she looked down at her proudly. "Do you feel better now? "

Alisa

User Image

"Perfectly annoying..." Alisa muttered dejectedly as she laid there beneath the annoying girl's shoe. "Wh-what?! Well, that's true, but... b-but... " ...Her face flushed red as she felt defeated in yet another way. Her lack of any comeback would probably just make Lily feel even more smug in her ultimate victory. It was true, larger breasts really were more of a hassle than they were any kind of beneficial. It's not like Alisa had any luck with romance all her life before Lilith, so clearly they didn't even help there! "Ugh, you're right..." Poor Alisa had been outsmarted, defeated, and now outwitted by the annoying girl. She had never felt so utterly defeated before. ...Well, maybe at Carmen's hand she had...
At Lily's next words, a look of horror crossed Alisa's face. Step... on her face? It seemed Lily had accidentally stumbled into one of Alisa's kryptonites. She was a bit of a posh princess, and hated being dirty. The bottom of someone's shoe being on her face legitimately horrified her. Suddenly, all of her pride and bravado drained in an instant, and she was reduced to a nervous, terrified mess. "I-I'll shut up! I'm sorry! You win! I submit! Wh-what did you want to hear again? ...Oh! Um, I-I admit defeat to you! O-oh great, adorable, awesome princess of the sea, you're so much better than me! You defeated me utterly! You're so amazing! I-I was an idiot to challenge you! Please,,, please don't step on my face... I'll be a good girl... I-I'll be your servant for the day! Or week! Or month! Master Lily! Just... have mercy..." That really seemed to get to her, didn't it? It was ironic, because she would gladly step on someone else's face to make them feel utterly defeated. She had probably done it to Ephraim at some point... She really just couldn't take a taste of her own medicine, could she?
Then came the time she was rescued by her seemingly helpless girlfriend. Alisa felt shame at having to be saved by her, but yet also felt excitement at it despite herself. She had never really been protected in such a way, and seeing the usually sweet, helpless girl taking charge was... doing a lot to her. Her face was already red, but Lilith putting her hands on either side of the ground beside her head caused her eyes to widen, and her face to flush a deeper shade of red. Oh, god. The only thing that could make this moment even more hot for her would be if Lilith mounted her, but that obviously wasn't going to happen. Though Lilith's intentions were pure and innocent, Alisa probably enjoyed this scene and kiss in a far different way than her girlfriend intended. And as she leaned up, seeing that proud expression on her face, well, that did it. She really wished they were in a more private place right now... She wiped a bit of saliva from her mouth, averting her gaze as her face remained deeply flushed. "Y-you don't even know what you're doing to me..." She muttered to herself. That was perhaps the most tragic thing. Her silly, innocent lover, and yet here she was, a complete, utter pervert. "Oh, I definitely feel different now..." That was one way of putting it. "You know, if you were the one stepping on me, I wouldn't mind it... even my face, that would be okay..." How romantic! Really just continuing the feeling of the moment. Though with how she was muttering, maybe Lilith wouldn't even hear her.

"I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that.
However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people.
That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be."

"...And I've come here to kill you." Ephraim stared down the pink-haired girl sitting on a lofty throne, her legs crossed, as she looked down at him. The scenery around him was a haze--a place he had never been, and yet it seemed familiar. The crimson eyes of his apparent adversary seemed cold, and yet as he stared into them, there was a strange warmth inside of him. And after several moments of silence and staring, finally the girl on the throne broke, beginning to laugh. It wasn't some sort of evil, superior laugh, though. It was genuine. He felt that warmth increase as he saw her laugh, and he felt a smile overtake his features.
"Oh yes, very intimidating, as always..." She uncrossed her legs, walking over to him. She familiarly wrapped her arms around his shoulders with no hesitation, gazing up into his eyes. "Seems like only yesterday my greatest desire was killing you and destroying everything you love. Strange how things can change..."
"I'm not terribly unhappy about this change."
"Heh, of course..." She smirked. "Ever since I first had you, you've never been able to tear your attention away from me. Such a good pet."
Ephraim rolled his eyes, but kept his playful grin. "Guess we'll see who's in charge later, won't we?"
"Ooh, a challenge." Her smirk widened, revealing one of her vampire-like fangs. "I thought you didn't pick fights you couldn't win, darling."
"I'm so happy! You two are actually together! Ahaha, I feel like fangirl with their favorite ship right now. I never thought it was possible."
Ephraim turned his gaze to the young woman with the same pink hair as her mother, albeit shorter. "You should really give us more warning before you barge in, Velora."
As he said the young woman's name, the hazy area surrounding him pulsed into an entirely different scene. The warmth was gone, and surrounding him were bodies. Unconscious, dead, he didn't know--but he could only assume the latter. Some he recognized, many he didn't. They died there, weapon-in-hand, desperately fighting something. He himself was down on one knee, leaning his weight on Siegmund to keep himself from hitting the floor. His life was in jeopardy. And the pink-haired girl he had in his arms moments ago fought desperately to protect him--something he should have been doing for her. Something he had done for her. But just as the others before her, she was struck down, and the crimson eyes that moments before were full of life, and gave him warmth, stayed open lifelessly as she laid there before him. "...!" At last the figure clad in darkness descended towards him--a woman surrounded by seemingly infinite power. All the warriors he had come to know--perhaps hundreds, gathered from other worlds to this one--almost every single one of them strewn across the area lifelessly after trying and failing to defeat this woman.

"This is the end of this plague." She smiled down at the king, lifting an arm. "I will bring an end to this world as many times as it takes to snuff you all out for good. So long, King Ephraim. You can be at peace with your dear Reaper-wife."
Ephraim had to fight. He could not die here. He could not let all these struggles--all the things he fought for in his own world and this one be for nothing. And yet, what could he do?
Before him appeared a young man with a long, flowing white cloak and distinct blonde hair. He recognized this boy as a god, in this hazy vision, but further details escaped him. "It won't end here." The voice boomed out. The god knew he could not defeat this calamity--even he was too weak. Even with the Omnigod power, he was nothing compared to her.
But there was one way to save this world. Or at least, to buy it some time.

Inhaling sharply as he jolted up, Ephraim's eyes shot open as he violently came back into consciousness. He was swearing, his eyes darting around desperately to try to assess the situation. Several people in the room were looking at him in concern. "...?!" He realized he was laying on the sofa in the mansion he had been welcomed into. As he started to calm down, he realized he had come to rest after sparring with Alisa, and he must have fallen asleep by accident. "..."
"You were shifting a lot in your sleep, and you kept muttering. Are you all right?" Cloud asked, surprisingly seeming genuinely concerned.
"...I-I'm fine, just... a bad dream." He let out a deep breath as he leaned over slightly, letting his head rest in his hand.
...What in the world did he just see? It couldn't have just been a dream. It felt so real, and with people he had never seen before. And yet he knew them, or at least he recognized them vaguely. Like the shadow of a memory in the corner of his mind, trying desperately to resurface. That woman he had been embracing so lovingly--she matched the description of Krul given to him by Alisa and Phoenix perfectly. She was... a monster, according to them. A woman who knew nothing except hatred and desired nothing except the subjugation of Serenitian and human alike. And she had tried to kill L'Arachel.
...So... why... was he...?

"I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that.
However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people.
That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be."

Every time Ephraim closed his eyes he would see that pink-haired woman smiling that fanged smile at him. He tried to lay down to sleep his exhaustion away, but he couldn't rest. That face stirred feelings inside of him--complex feelings. Aggression, hatred, longing, affection... feelings that were not unfamiliar to him, but seemed as though they had been slumbering at the corners of his mind, out of reach.
...These feelings were not something he felt ready to face right now, and so he decided to try to clear his mind with some basic training. He needed to keep his form up regardless--he still felt a bit of rust from his long days spent in his father's throne after the war ended. He was still sharp, and his strength had certainly not left him--his toned body could confirm that. But it was natural to lose some of your edge when you went from fighting every day in a war to sitting in a throne following its conclusion. But as long as he was in this foreign world, he had to ensure he stayed at his best, and tried to keep pushing his limitations.
...Thinking about it that way, it was difficult not to get a bit excited at the prospect. It was no secret Ephraim was a warrior, but it was lesser-known how much he truly relished the fighting. This was something he saw in himself as a fault, though it was a trait that would likely be embellished or romanticized were it told in a story. For one destined to lay down his spear and wear a crown, loving battle as much as he did was something that he couldn't see as anything positive. He couldn't just magic away these feelings, but they did trouble him, even as he enjoyed the fighting. He loved the martial test between two warriors, and the moment of battle. The moment where ideals and beliefs were put aside. That one, visceral moment--the moment that defined battle.
...It was something he knew troubled his dear sister--this lust for battle, as calm as it may have been compared to particularly bloodthirsty warmongers. He had to take care not to stoke this fire inside of him too fiercely, lest he lose himself to the desire completely. ...He believed he could manage that, however. He would steel his will, and never allow power to lead him astray.
Indeed, this burning desire was one that complicated his life as king, but in this world where what was needed from him was his spear, perhaps it was something that could be cautiously embraced. And to that end...
"I need a sparring partner..." He muttered to himself as he delivered a beautifully precise thrust with his spear, displaying for an audience that he believed didn't exist his mastery over the fundamentals of spearwork.
Indeed, the best way to hone one's abilities would be to test them against a willing and able partner. But who would be best for this task, he wondered...
