Mister Monster Guy Auriga La Shock I thought we were speaking of mercenaries not detectives? Can't detectives be thought of as a type of mercenary? *gives a small laugh slightly amused* How so? A detective investigates a crime and searches for a suspect. A mercenary is hired by a government or group to fight in a war or battle. ( It depends on what they do in the game and what they do in the comics. Their actions decide their title )

Then again, fighting evil robots on a daily basis is pretty much my normal day back at home. (I more meant which incarnation I should use for our little RP here... But really, even in the games they act so much more like mercenaries then detectives, I think SEGA gave them that "title" to be politically correct.)

They were hired to investigate a crime and the robots were in the way of that. Now, if this group were hired specifically to only fight robots, then they would be called mercenaries. Also, to be considered mercenaries, the group would have to have absolutely no ties to the person hiring them or the cause for which they are fighting. They are strictly fighting only for money or some other form of personal gain. They do not care about the cause; they will work for whoever has enough money.
