If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya tilted her head, quickly picking up on the strange behavior Searan was exhibiting. "Is something wrong?" she asked, concern in her voice. She glanced up at Searan's face, but he was looking at the ceiling. "Did something happen?"

The clone only smiled more. "Yes... Something did happen." he said, glancing to Anya, his face hidden by shadow. He then went over to her and leaned in close to her ear. "I have a special little secret, my faerie." he whispered, grinning evilly. "I never felt a thing for you."

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya almost jumped when he suddenly leaned close to her, and her eyes widened as he whispered to her. "B-but! I-I thought... You said... The marketplace..." Anya protested against him, but she realized that she should've expected something like this. Even though he'd just called her "faerie," Searan knew that she was half real demon, the kind that is pure evil from birth. Perhaps he just couldn't get over that? But it still hurt... To just be thrown away. Tears started to bead in the corners of her eyes and she started to hiccup from the sobs that threatened to escape.

The clone leaned back, still with that malicious smirk. "Cry. Cry my dear. You look so much better in tears." he said, making for the door oh so casually. As if he hadn't just broken her heart, but leaving from afternoon tea.

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya began to sob harder as he left, and as soon as her door was closed again, she collapsed on her knees, wrapping her arms around herself as she cried. She knew all too well that every time she even bothered trying to be happy, something bad came of it. Finally, her feelings got the worst of her, and she turned to the window, spreading her demonic wings out behind her and launching herself over the castle lawn, flying for as long as she could before she couldn't keep herself steady and she somewhat crashed into the ground. She couldn't see the castle anymore, but she didn't really care.

Footsteps approached the little fallen faerie through the thick brush she had fallen in. Then a pair of arms wrapped around her and a familiar voice came to her ears. "Anya! My niece! What happened? I was on my way to visit you, but I heard crying. What has hurt you so, my little one?" her uncle asked, petting the girl softly.

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya was still curled up in the bushes when she heard footsteps. She contemplated silencing her sobs, just in case, but just gave up. She tried to squirm away as she was hugged, but she recognized the voice that came from the person, and she looked up, her face tear streaked. "I...I...I'm so st-stupid!" she sobbed, curling against her uncle's chest and crying some more. She had never really gotten to know him that well, since she was always being sent away to train, but every time he'd visited her family he'd been so nice to them, even though her father didn't like him.

The uncle held her softly, petting her more. "Anya. Please calm yourself. You'll be sick. Here. Let's go to the castle. It looks like it will rain soon and I want to talk to you about something." he said, gently trying to help ehr to her feet.

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya sniffled a little more, and after a few hiccups, her tears had stopped falling. She rubbed her eyes, but knew they were red as anything before she allowed her uncle to get her onto her feet. She hadn't noticed, but in the fall she'd hurt her wings, and they folded against her back in a crumpled way. They would heal, since it was in her blood for them to do so, but they ached nonetheless, and looked pretty bad.

Yet her uncle notice, gently touching one of her wings. "You're hurt too. Come. Let's get you all patched up." he said softly, putting an arm around her shoulder to keep her close to him and comfort her. He led her back to the castle and had a maid guide them to her room. Once there, he pulled out a first aid kit and sat Anya down on a stool while he took care of her wings. "What happened, Anya? What got you so upset?"

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya rubbed her nose a little, and nodded, walking with her uncle. Sitting on the stool, Anya bowed her head, letting her hair shield her face as her uncle fixed her wings. "I..I was stupid...and... I thought... And he..." She swallowed hard, not wanting to finish her sentence. Admitting it would make it all the more real. She glanced through a part between her strands of hair and saw her wings. Though they were patched up, they would still need time to heal, meaning she wouldn't be able to hide them like she usually did. Unlike a normal faerie's wings, they were black and a sinister purple, with long spindly veins that looked a sickly, poisonous green. She hated them, of course, which was why she hid them.

Her uncle jsut turned her head to face him. "Anya. Please calm down. What you need to do right now is rest." he said, gently helping her to her bed and making her lay down on her stomach as not to irritate her wings. He then pulled a blanket over her. "Tell me about it when you have slept some and rested up. I will be here for you."

If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya let her uncle put her to bed, and she nodded, closing her tired eyes and burying her face in her pillow before he left. "Thank you, Uncle," she whispered as she fell asleep, exhausted. There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. A maid had come and gotten Jethrow to tell him that a strange man had escorted Anya to her room, and that the faerie was injured. Without a second thought, Jethrow sat up, threw his book aside, and strode down the hall, where, just as he was about to knock, he heard a man speaking to Anya. He stiffened, knowing that voice from a previous encounter with the man. He lowered his hand and strode down the opposite side of the hall to Lunora's room, knocking on the door. He knew his brother was there, and he also knew that Demetri would have a better time deciding what it was that Anya's uncle wanted with him.

Lunora groaned softly, her keen hearing catching the knocking on her door. She go up, though carefully as not to wake Demetri, and slipped her kimono back on. The fox then tied the obi back on, though a bit sloppily due to her tiredness. But she strode to the door, scratching her head some, forgetting her hair was also a mess. Lunora opened the door and yawned. "Yes, what is it."

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. Jethrow raised his eyebrow at Lunora's sloppy appearance, but decided it would do him well not to question it. He glanced down the hallway once, to make sure Anya's uncle hadn't reappeared yet. "I need to talk to Demetri. It's rather important," he said, his tone urgent
