Isis47470 I have been reading the Orks codex and oddly they seem to have some kind of psychic control over machines. AAAAARGH, that one line of text has screwed up YEARS of Ork Fluff thanks to some ******** who decided it would be a good idea. If its true then how does Yarrik's claw work? Or the Armageddon Ork Hunter's guns? My theory: somebody added the bit about "Ork weapons work by psychic power" without putting enough thought in first - or even paying attention to all the background that came before... the Brain Boyz engineered the knowledge of how to make weapons into their DNA!

Ahh, see, Dart, your doing exactly what they want you to. They, like all things IRL, are ment to see the downfall in life, and there fore, make them want to survive more. Thats what this intire thing is about, in 40k, is Survival.

Ayup, gotta go with Dryfolius on this one. How could Space Marines ever give up because some one said there gonna take over the galaxy, The Marines never give up !! The Tau wont idly stand by and watch there empire fall to Fungi with an attitude problem. It was said in the codex that they "SEEM" to have some kind of psychic thingy happening not that they do. They just have no other explanation for it. As for Yarrik's claw, Some of there stuff dose work, but others that don't seem to work in the hands of others only work in the hands of orks. With all kinds of servo upgrades are you telling me tech adepts couldn't make that claw work ?
Also the codex said that although the ork appear to be dumb, judging by there physiology there is no reason for them to be so dumb, that they should be more up with humans. ( even though there not ). This is propaganda laid forth by GW to provoke the other races to pay attention to the orks and not dismiss them, it will happen to every race in the 40k world over time. Never underestimate your enemies. Plus, Who's to say the orks weren't engineered to have such control over machines, or perhaps the machine god likes them for some reason. What most of you call errors in the codex, I call a sneaky marketing ploy. Unless there is Errata I don't know about. sweatdrop

Eh, Isis type as much as you want.
Well, as my first statement, the Orks are not able to just "make" everything work. If you read the codex more carefully, you'll notice that is not exactly what it is saying. Here, this will make it easier: (I think it uses this one) No one really taught you how to breath when you were born right? (hopefully) that is something we as humans are born with, it comes natural, it is an instinct. Orks however, are born with the ability to understand, build, and use machinery, they are just not sure how. Orks are still dumber than humans, they just got a large kick start when they were created. Although some people of the Imperium THINK this has to do with them being able to make things "magically" work, it's problably not. Just this ability, which is still pretty dumb.
Although on what Dart said, it is dissapointing how the Imperium thinks every single army is going to take over the Imperium, or there is a different Inquisitor in each codex who loves that race more than the Imperium and isn't sure why or how he made it to Inquisitor.

Thank you Redd. Even so, I have been watching the length of my posts. I just prefer not to answer in a bunch of small posts, it takes to long. 3nodding

Regarding the Ork's intimate knowledge of how to kill stuff, and make 'big fings wot go booom... hurhurhur' It's supposed to be (as Red said) instinct, Mekboyz 'know' how to build stuff and the ork medics 'know' that stapling an Ork's arm back on will help it to 'fite bettor'.
Just as baies can walk 1/2 an hour after being born, or hold their breath underwater Orks can kill stuff and use gunz.

Could you imagine Marines like that. Being able to just instinctively know every thing from birth. The ork codex hints that some of the Imperials might be playing around with that idea.
