" Good afternoon! you must be Shiori! I'm Miyoko!" she shifted her basket to her other hip and bowed slightly as she walked. She stopped in her tracks. "Mmmmm.. Sweet buns! Do you smell them?" She couldn't get distracted. Not now. Walking alittle faster she caught up to her friends and continued their shopping trip.

"It is so good to meet you Miyoko-san! Oh, yes, I was wondering what delicious scent that was .. " she noticed her stomach giving a tiny growl in response as well. Shiori laughed, slightly embarrassed. "I should have eaten something before I got to the okiya .. my mind was far away."
She realized it had been a terribly long time since she had taken a simple walk outside, gone shopping, or even conversed with friends. Her aunt was not lazy, but she was always working and they never got chances to go anywhere together. There had been girls and young men her age at the royal residences - but she had begun to develop phobias of being outside and around other people. But the air smelled so clean and sweet here, and she noticed the little things as if for the first time - the loveliness of the pink sakura, the little birds chattering ..
She could see already steam rising from a little shop, and a few people gathered around already. She turned to the girls and smiled. "Would any of you like some? I think Serena-san and Mother might like them very much as well!"

She slipped her shoes on and caught up with shiori. "The sweet buns smell excellent. They make me terribly hungry." She looked around admiring so many things. This was the 1st time she had been out of the okiya. (post 7)

"Oh!" The maids' lips curved into a smile. "Then let me get us a few, especially for your sake, and mine, Akano-chan. Don't want to get ill on the way!" She spoke in soft tones to the man selling them, passed him a little money, and in return he gave her a dozen of the buns wrapped in paper to keep them warm and fresh. She gave one to Akano and put the rest in her basket.
"Try one out for us, Akano-chan? Meanwhile, I think we should head over there. I see some stands selling fruit and .. fish I think! Let us see what they have."
She noticed that people looked upon their little group with smiles and occasionally a small bow, which she would return with attempted grace. Especially they received admiring looks from the men that passed by. It was good advertisement as well, she thought privately!

Rose smiles as miyoko leaves to talk with the others, she stays inside rather than go out of the okiya, she didn't like to do it much. she wondered where he sister was, hoping she hadn't abandoned her. rose goes into the maids room and deides to clean it up a bit, sweeping the floors. she hummed to herself just a tune she made up as she hummed it. she takes the maids bed covers and washes them all, then puts the resh clean bed covers back on. she stands up and smiles at her work, this would have taken her a few hours at most. "there.."

Miyokos basket was almost full. " I'm going to head back to the okiya and start pepareing a stew. Come home soon!" she bowed, smiling before running off toward Kazenotanpopo. One of her shoes slipped off and she turn around again. " Oh shoot!" A young man, about her age, in paupers clothing picked up her shoe. " thank you" She bowed, taking her shoe. His hands smelled of fish. He must have been a fish merchant. " You're quite welcome." She flashed him a sweet smile. " I hope we meet again sometime..." " Boku" Smileing again, she slipped her shoe on and ran all the way home, a surge of warm happiness running through her. Making it to the kitchen she lit a fire and put ingredients into the pot. Stirring, she suddenly remebered a cold rule she once heard being shouted at a geisha in another okiya " You must never date any men! A geisha's life is never her own. You must devote it entirely to your art. Dateing is positively forbidden!" Once she remeberd this, she hoped that Boku nevre crossed paths again. For she knew that she would grow to like him even more than now. And if she was to become a geisha, things would head for the worst.

"Okay Miyoko-san! A stew sounds wonderful. I will get a few extra things for my special recipe as well. Be careful going back home!" she bowed in return, giving a wave to the girl. She noticed before she turned around again that Miyoko's shoe came off, and that a young man returned it to her. Shiori smiled as she noticed how happy Miyoko-san was - her cheeks certainly seemed rosy!
Shiori turned back to the business of the day. There was a special stew her mother made on occasions called Oyakodon-buri. She had seen Miyoko get several necessary ingredients to this stew, but not all. Maybe she would supply the rest? The okiya probably had fresh stores of food at all times - but Shiori liked to be exact and personalizing when it came to her recipes. Also she thought perhaps the okiya Mother would like it if the cost of food did not have to come from her own pocket for once.
From several stands she picked up what she needed. Onion, shiitaki mushrooms, snow peas, eggs, chicken, soy sauce, and a bit of dashi no moto. She covered her basket and made her way back to the okiya.

[ XD! I know everyone is sleeping or away still, but I'm so bored .. xD so here is another post. sweatdrop ]
Shiori had come now to the kitchens, and saw that Miyoko was already preparing some of her ingredients. It had begun to smell delicious and cozy. She went to the low brick oven in the center of the room, lit it carefully, and placed a large black skillet on top. She let it heat up for a while.
She was quiet for a moment, then -
"Miyoko-san, are you doing well? You seem so lost in thought. Did you know that young man? He was very nice to give you your shoe back." She smiled at her warmly.
She put a bit of olive oil in the pan and watched it simmer for a bit out of the corner of her violet-brown eyes. [16]

"Certainly you might! And tea sounds so lovely, I would love to try out your recipie." Shiori smiled and moved over so that Rose could see what she was making.
"I have the ingredients here .. would you like to help put them in for me? It would be a good learning experience as well. I apologize in advance if the onions bother you." She gave a light laugh, suspecting that those were the cause of her kittenish sneeze.
Shiori gathered up the yellow onions she had diced, the dashi, and the mushrooms and mixed them together in a bowl, which she gave to Rose. She also put a little extra water in the skillet. Steam rose up instantly and wafted out through the window ..
"Here you go Rose-san! Now we just wait a moment, and then we will put in the green onion and the chicken." Shiori started to cut the said chicken into slices.
