Oh, damnit. He was so careful and yet she proved to be just too damn fragile. He stared at her as she broke down, his brows slowly coming together. Why couldn't have just been a simple "I love you!" "OKAY!" moment and then they could have done as they pleased! Because Sai'gare was just that unlucky. ..Maybe he was just stupid this time. However he wasn't a stupid man, he wasn't a nervous man. He was confident i his actions, even if they were wrong sometimes. If he could at least be confident to talk to Tsukeichi then all would be fine.

..Oh but with that confidence came irritation. "No, damnit! I'm not." he hissed as his grip tightened slightly. Perhaps it was an illusion he built himself that because of what he did, he wasn't good enough for anyone. Indeed, he was good enough for his own being, but what of everyone else? He wouldn't let the opinions other people had change his 'self' but at the same time he wouldn't push his existence onto other people.

What was a man like him to do? How was a man like him to behave? The outer shrine shunned him, and his shrine despised him. ..Hey, he couldn't blame them right? He wouldn't fess up to it but truth was truth.

And Tsukeichi? His existence only troubled her. Didn't she get that?

Slowly his grip loosened on her shoulders, only to allow those arms to coil around her. ..Oh, what could it hurt? She was drunk, she wasn't going to remember a damn thing. "I'd only cause trouble for you, Tsukeichi. Trouble you don't need." he stated simply as he squeezed her to his form. "I've got it bad enough, what about you? I'm not the only person around you, I think it'd be fair to trade me off if it kept everyone from shunning you." he stated.

Fujin, he was a self abusive ******** wasn't he?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 09, 2006 9:50 pm

His words came, slow and muffled, almost as if she were underwater and he spoke from above. He could feel his grip loosen then tighten about her in an embrace, and instead of setting things right in Tsukei'chi's mind, it only went topsey turvey. Nothing was making sense anymore, and it only frustrated her.

She listened between sniffles, softly shaking her head 'no' in sheer annoyance. Slowly she pulled her hands free, only to wrap them about him in a tight embrace as that tear-soaked face came to rest against the junction of neck and shoulder. "No... no... Why do you inshist on pushin' me awuay?"

Sure, Tsukei'chi had 'friends', lots of them -- kids who looked up to her and others who looked down at her and none of them knew who Tsukei'chi the person was. For the most part, the follower of Konohana was still the same girl who lived in the fray of society. She wasn't trully accepted as her views differed from the main and often befriended those who well, were less than respectable backgrounds. And Sai'gare.. well..

"You've been herhe sinsh the beginnin.. Don't push me awuay, pleash."

Didn't he understand how his existance affected her? Couldn't he see how with or without him in her life, things were still difficult?

"I'm misherahble without you..." And there, it slipped out of her lips without thinking. Well, there was no taking it back now, was there?

He stared at her with the most dumbfounded of expressions on his face. ..Oh, why did she have to say that? Surely, his luck was turning around! She was telling him what he wanted to hear! ..Oh, yet Sai'gare always looked at the world as a glass being half empty. Nothing could go his way, no one was supposed to love him - especially for who and what he was. Yet there was Tsukeichi, throwing that philosophy out the window after raping it.

His brows furrowed. It was just the booze talking. It had to be! She was drunk, he was a man. WITH A p***s! But.. Sai'gare got his hopes up and there was no turning back now. He could only remain speechless as his arms tightened around her in a squeezing embrace, nuzzling his cheek against her's.

What could it hurt to be happy for once? What could it hurt to give in to what HE wanted for once? ..Oh, but he knew she would wake up the following day horrified at the words that had come out of her mouth. ..But if it was one night it would be okay - right?

Even so he simply couldn't bring his body to make a move toward her. Instead, he simply leaned back slightly to stroke her cheek softly with the back of his hand. "I'm not going anywhere anymore, I promise." he stated simply, hoping that would answer her statements, answer what she wanted.

He couldn't think of anything else to say.

"Hey, you pervert, get your stinking hands off Tsuke."

...and the angst was shattered in the form of a petite, albeit buxom, young woman with her foot placed quite firmly on the curve of said 'perverts' neck in an idle threat, long chestnut braid swinging behind her lightly.

Kiku had seen the other two walking off together. She wasn't sure if it had been a result of boredom, curiosity, or downright nosiness that she'd decided to follow them. Spying? Don't be silly! Kiku didn't spy, per se...she merely...observed. Quietly. Very, very quietly.

Alright, so she'd spied. A little bit. But it was a good thing she had! She'd known both Sai'gare and Tsukei'chi for quite a while, but had a completely different opinion of either of them. Kiku had taken a liking to Tsukei'chi right away, finding the woman a wonderful confidante.

But Sai'gare? Well, her emotions were a little more conflicted on that one. Ask her straight out what she thought of the man, and she'd tell you right off the bat that he's nothing more than a stinking pervert (or any other dissembling ajective she can think of). Every once in a while, though, even the stubborn firecracker known as Kiku fell victim to the suave nature of the young man. However, she tends to blame this solely on whatever sake she'd had recently...

"Aww...look what you did! you got her drunk and made her cry, you b*****d!" she snapped huffily. Without another word, she used the foot that rested on his neck to shove his head out of the way before taking his place next to Tsuke affectionately, her arms hugging the drunken girl close.

"There, there, Tsuke. I won't let the pervy jerk put his grubby paws on you anymore." she cooed soothingly, only to turn and blow an immature raspberry at said pervy jerk.

That was Kiku; childish as ever. And slightly tipsy on sake to boot.

[ And thank you, as one, I was having a hard time with this post... mostly due to exhaustion and dead ends.]

Confusion. For the most part, that was the main emotion that took place due to all the events going on. He said little, and pretty much kept himself vague, yet the more he tried, the more Sai'gare's actions pointed to the opposite picture he hoped to paint. Damnable intoxication, it made the complex even more hazy to understand.

Was he promising to stay just because he felt sorry for her, or did Sai'gare really care about Tsukei'chi... and by care, Tsukei'chi meant 'I hope he likes me more than friends, but not like a sister or a brother' type of 'care'. Surely, if he gave two damns about Tsukei'chi in that regard, he would have already taken advantage of the situation, right? Or did he keep his hands about her shoulders in fear and respect? Maybe his lips stayed absent from hers because he really loved her and was afraid of how the friendship was to change?

Oh, men were so goddamned confusing!

Regardless of the thoughts that swam about her head, Tsukei'chi felt a warmth and comfort she had not felt since that night in the sunflowers. The feel of his heartbeat so close -- his arms about her... the gentle stroking and reassurance of Sai'gare's voice. Slowly, oh so slowly, was the youth talking herself into believing that, well, there was more than friendship and respect behind his actions. Could it really hurt to let herself go this one time?

A tiny sigh of satisfaction escaped those plump lips only to caress Sai'gare's neck in responce to that promise. Tears spilled, now a strange mixture of happiness and fear at his words. Exhausted, emotionally, as well as physically, Tsukei'chi began to fall asleep in the comfort of Sai'gare's arms.

Surely, he could tell by the manner in which she relaxed and the soft, constant breathing Tsukei'chi had to offer. "you're.. not.. promishing .. just to shooth me, right?"

Tsukei'chis greatest fear, now, was that Sai'gare was lying to make her happy and that tomorrow morning, he'd be gone.

And just when things were beginning to look for the young couple ....

"No.. noo... Shai'gare... " Those bandaged arms reached out for the young man as she was rudely pulled away. Things were happening so fast, the poor girl couldn't understand, even as her mind began to clear up just a little bit. "You promished!!"

Poor, emotionally unstable Tsukei'chi. Normally she'd be ready to fight, curse or just go along with the situation. Today, anything was bound to make her cry.

Damnable low tolerance!
PostPosted: Thu Oct 12, 2006 2:24 pm

Kiku coddled and clung to the poor, emotional young woman as she made hushing sounds, her hands cradling the other girl's head against her shoulder.

"There, there, Tsuke. You don't need to listen to anything that walking p***s says. All boys ever want to do is get in your panties, anyways." she drawled rather matter-of-factly. "Why else would he want to get you so dunk, huh? He knows just as well as I do you have no tolerance for the stuff. He obviously just wants a little guilt -free, drunken fun. Isn't that right, dirty pervert?" she snapped brattily in Shai-gare's direction. She said it in a manner like she actually expected the man to agree with her accusitory statement before turning her attentions back to her favored friend.

"Awww....lookit you. You're babbling about crazy stuff, you're so drunk! We need to go get you sobered up." she nodded decidedly. Without letting either of the two protest, Kiku looped the drunken girl's arm around her own shoulder and started helping her to her feet gingerly. It took a few staggers, but the shorter young woman managed to haul Tsukei'chi to her feet. Sort of. She more pulled her into a rubber-kneed waddle than an actual solid stance.

"C'mon, Tsuke. I'll take you over to my place. I got lots of things for detoxing." she cooed proudly. Normally, this wouldn't be something brag about, but for a disciple of Konohana, detoxing was a fairly common practice. Besides, Kiku was looking for any excuse to haul the hapless girl from the clutches of the 'pervert'. Sobering her was just a benefit.

"Wha.. what..?!" last he checked, everything was going well. SWIMMINGLY! He was clinging to Tsukeichi, she was clinging to him, and slowly but surely they were discovering happiness together! Oh, happy days! And then? THEN!? He'd been kicked aside, and knocked unconscious. Or maybe it was just his poor brain trying to wrap itself around what was happening. It was Mikaboshi trying to keep him unhappy again! His happiness was to wait until the August Star!

"Well ******** you, you ******** geezer!" he cried as he returned to 'consciousness' only to find that Kiku was dragging Tsukeichi away, saying things that damaged his name. ..Although his name was already damaged at his own hand.. Quickly he rose to his feet as he whipped his finger in Kiku's direction. Oh, she had it. If she thought she could twist the situation around on Sai'gare, she had another thing coming.

Tsukeichi already knew she got HERSELF drunk. ..Unless she was just that plastered where she would believe anything. Somehow, he hoped, Tsukeichi was just a little more stable then that. ..Then again, his luck was never very good to begin with. "You have the nerve to call me a pervert, you lesbian THIEF!" he whipped his finger out to point at her.

"Oh, yeah, you want her to believe I had this all planned when in reality you were SPYING on us, trying to keep us from being happy!" he was on a roll! He took a firm step forward as he spoke, intent on at least grabbing Tsukeichi by the hand to pull her back to him. Damnit, if he had to play tug of war to get the woman he'd been pining for ever since she came to the shrine..

SO BE IT!

"Who's the REAL pervert here? You just want to take her back to your place so you can take advantage of the fact she'd drunk, don't you!?" TUG!
PostPosted: Thu Oct 12, 2006 5:13 pm

"Lesbian?!" Kiku's impish face was set on fire with embarrassement at the accusation. She wasn't butch! "Hey!! I'm just trying to keep her from getting molested by some big jerk who only wants to stick his tiny little d**k in her panties!" Kiku cried indignantly, her hold around the other woman giving her an advantage despite her short stature.

"You just wish I was lesbian so you could watch us, you voyeuristic p***k!" she snapped as she dug her little feet into the ground to hold her own. "And don't you try to deny it, neither! I saw you trying to sneak into the girl's showers last week to try and get a peek. You're nothing but a filthy, dirty minded, perverted, boob grabbing, jerky, indecent, evil skirt chaser lookin' for some tail!" she ranted, the slew of slanderous remarks never ending.

"I've got half a mind to castrate you with a spoon!" the petite firecracker threatened, her grip on the hapless drunk unrelenting. "Don't make me kick your sorry a**, pervert! And you know I will! Now let go'a her!" Kiku demanded. Her arms were getting tired at this point, and her heels were dragging along the ground. "Let go or I'll get REALLY mad!" she cried, as if her rantings weren't furious enough.

Tsukei'chi groaned, a headache now forming that, well, made tears swell around her eyes and spill over her cheeks. Kiku knew better than that -- Sai'gare knew better than that .... they should both know that Tsukei'chi was not someone to play games or take sides. She wasn't the sort to listen to rumors or let people dictate who she was to make friends with. Tsuke, like Kiku called her, had friends from every realm because of this... and there was a reason why she had fallen in love with Sai'gare as well: the Elder of Konohana had a nack for finding the good in everyone, even in the most wicked of souls, and keep that flame of humanity alive.

Then again, just because Tsukei'chi was a good judge of character didn't mean everyone was... hence the reason why, for the most part, the young girl always felt alone and lived in the fringe of society.

Well, that's not to say that few comments hurt; Kiku's accusation of Sai'gare's spying on the girls *just last week* made her heart twinge and her stomach flip. (Or was that just the urge to vomit?) Tsukei'chi hoped that when Sai'gare came for 'visits', she'd be the first one he'd look for.... after all, didn't he just say that he came back specifically for her?

"It wash trueh, Ki*hic*oo. I wash stupid and didn't realishe what bottle I drank from..." And it was, Sai'gare knew better than to get Tsukei'chi drunk. He had been present when Taru, another follower of Konohana got her drunk four years ago; Taru ended up with a concusion, two broken ribs and a bruised ego. The last man who tried to get into Tsukei'chi's panties turned gay as a sudden fear of women clouded his brain after the former took him behind close doors and gave him 'a lesson or two on how to woo women'. He knew this! Why would he gamble with his manly goods?

The Mikaboshi follower was not THAT much of a masochist.... right?

Then again, Kiku had every right to be overprotective. The young man, after all, had a reputation of a philandering a*****e and *everyone*, even the good hearted priests who preached "peace and love" wondered why Tsukei'chi's friendship remained solid as ever. Surely, Kiku was just being a friend and not a lesbian out to "turn Tsukeichi over to the dark side", as Sai'gare was thinking... right?

"Kiku's jusht worried, Shai'gareh-reh...you'd do the shame if shomeone of yourr re-re-rehmutation wash enbalmed in this shituation!" Trully, Tsukei'chi was trying to find peace, even in her most drunken state. But, no, they had to start the tug of war with her arms and with each pull, Tsuke's temper began to rise.

"Awright, SHWABID YEW DEW!" With the tears now subsided, and a headache pounding between her temples, Tsukei'chi had enough. A drunken woman with her reputation was not a good combination. Sober, Tsukei'chi had the strength of six men and when sparring, often held back her strength as not to injure a person. Intoxicated, what the girl thought was 'holding back' was not necessarily true.. And it was also a well known fact that when intoxicated, a person's intelligence may be dulled but their strength heightened.

Irritated, Tsukei'chi pull the arm Sai'gare had tugged in an effort to assert her own independence. Sure, she may have just confessed her feelings in a moment of weakness and spent nearly an hour crying but that she was a weak fool. As she did so, Tsukei'chi pushed Kiku away as if to remind the youth that, well, intoxicated or not, weeping or laughing, Tsukei'chi was not a baby and was not going to tolerate such behavior.

Unfortunately, there was enough force behind her actions to pull Sai'gare down to his knees and at Tsukei'chi's feet, whilst Kiku ended up an arm length away.

Sure, she was drunk and angry, and perhaps not thinking all that clearly but Tsukei'chi still recognized her own mistake. Instantly did the amazon of a woman give a sharp cry, slapping her hands against her face. "Oh s**t... I'm sho sorreeh!"

It was a bit funny to see the tall girl stagger as everybody fell, then simply waver and dance about as to remain standing, only to slap herself with such force as to leave a pair of red handprints upon her cheeks.

Poor... Poor Tsukei'chi... but even more pitiful the proud follower of Mikaboshi that now had to deal with her abuse!
PostPosted: Thu Oct 12, 2006 10:28 pm

"Oof! Ooow! Hey! Watch where your throwing me, Tsuke! you near broke my backside!" the braided girl whined, her hand reaching back to rub at her roughed up rump ruefully. ((so many 'r's! XD)) She supposed that was what she deserved for being so over protective of the woman, though. Drunk or not, Tsukei'chi could most assuredly hold her own against any number of adversaries. It was a wonder the girl wasn't more tolerant of alcohol, given her hieght and discipleship. Given the opportunity, Kiku would've happily helped Tsukei'chi work up her tolerance. Unfortunately, the other most likely had her own training to tend to; drink tolerance not being one of them, obviously.

But that was a thought to ponder at another time. Right now, Kiku had some fingers to point.

"Look! You got her mad, too! First you get her drunk, then you make her cry, then you try to molest her, and now you're getting her pissed off! What in the Hells is wrong with you?!" Kiku cried indignantly as she rose to her feet, hands clasped firmly on curvy hips that shifted to one side. Admittedly, Kiku was being a might accusitory, but it was her nature to be so towards the 'pervert', and damned if she was going to get blamed for all this.

It was a valuable lesson she'd learned from a few of her teachers; if you lay the blame first, it's harder for others to refute it. Such a favored tactic of the braided bundle of spunk.

He fell to the ground, needless to say, his hand placed upon his heart and his eyes wide in terror. Oh, Tsukeichi was a vicious woman, even when she wasn't drunk out of her mind. To have her swinging wildly, without restaint, was truly most terrifying. Was he being melodramatic? Maybe in the eyes of another, but he had seen things no man wanted to see! He had seen things he would NEVER wish on another man. "Oh, Mikaboshi. I saw the DARKNESS and it was coming CLOSE!"

Oh, but he hadn't been without his composure for long. As soon as he recovered his brain, he slowly rose to his full height with only the help of the muscles in his legs and thighs to aid him. Needless to say he moved in a very serpent like manner. It was more than obvious due to the expression on his face that he was done. He had enough of the damn monkey that was Kiku as she flung s**t from his shoulders.

That expressio.. His brows were arched up, 'causing wrinkles on even his own youthful flesh - and yet dispite that his eyelids had drooped slightly as they watched his hands as they tightened his obi for the second time that night. Yeah, he should have known that having a chance to pour his heart out to Tsukeichi wouldn't ******** Mikaboshi, always changing his luck at the last second. Or maybe the blame rested upon the shoulders of that damned slut of Takamagahara. Everyone knew she was no whore. He scoffed inwardly at such thoughts.

It was by the time he was done he snapped a glare in Kiku's direction. "You're not even worth the trouble, you and your blind eyes." he stated, his lips dripping with venom. In the end, what he was saying was the fact that, drunk or not, he had faith that Tsukeichi knew that he would only come back for her. After all, he had only returned for the first time in six months just the day before.

"But I'll say this, you're definately no Butch - you're more like the motherly type. So, have fun dealing with the angry daughter." he stated, his hand leaving the side of his head in mock salute. Oh, but even despite his irritation he always had the time to address Tsukeichi kindly.

That expression shifted drasticly from it's previous form into a warm smile. He may not have said what he wanted to, but he hoped he got his point across clearly. At least clear enough that Tsukeichi could understand it the following day. "When you get rid of Mother Hen, you know where to find me. 'Kay?"

There was just no way that the situation could be fixed, unless he put forth much effort. And, to be honest, in his mind that effort wasn't worth it if he couldn't say a word if 'Mother Hen' was going to twist it into something perverse. No, he needed to talk to Tsukeichi without that damn lesbian-thief watching over their shoulders.

To think that four years ago, a whiff of fresh-brewed Sake would have been enough to render Tsukei'chi unconcious, having downed a third of a bottle and gotten drunk was a massive accomplishment! Unfortunately, by her path's standards, she was no better than a new born babe with alcohol rubbed on his teething gums. Especially so when so many emotions came bubbling to the surface with enough speed to keep Tsukei'chi in a perpetual state of confusion.

Fuzy, as her vision was, Tsukei'chi still watched as Sai'gare fell, stood and anger overtook his features. Of course, the matter of connecting words to actions and situations was still far beyond her reach. Oh god, he hates me! He was lying! And before she could hear the young man's words, already was the Amazon slouched onto the floor, crumbled, heart broken, and weepy.

All she could think about was a promise that inadvertedly got broken.

Subconciously speaking, perhaps, things did make sense as already Tsukei'chi was making plans to rendezvous with the man... even if the reasons behind the meeting was less than romantic. I'll kick his a**, I'll pulvurize him.. I will make him eat his own s**t in his own domain with everyone who respects him watches!!

But who was Kiku to know -- or Sia'gare-- or anyone for that reason? Before the expression on Tsukei'chi's face twisted from one of agony to sheer anger, that peach-gold face had turned sour. "Oh goddesshh..."

So spoken, and with surprising coordination, the drunken girl rolled onto her side, crawled a short distance and ... RETCH!!!

" uuuuuh..." was Tsukei'chi's only miserable sound.

Retch! "UUUUGH!!!"

Heave " Make it shtoopp...."

And there you have it -- the reason why the Konohana Elder never used her kameosa, and avoided any form of alcohol during the festivals.

Like the mother hen she'd been acussed of being, the petite Konohana pupil swooped in over her self proclaimed brood in a flutter of brown braid, her body folding to kneel next to the upchucking woman with an arm soothing her back in an attempt at comfort.

"Oh! You poor thing...It's alright...let it all out." she coaxed. Kiku vaguely recalled her first hangover with bittersweet fondness. Oh, how many lunches had she regurgitated that night? She'd lost count after about the eighth round in the battle against her own innards. It was a learning experience for both herself and her drinking buddies; her lesson? Don't attempt 5 mixed shots at once. There was a reason it was called a 'suicide'. Their lesson?

Don't wear nice shoes to a drinking game.

Always one to be prepared since then, Kiku pulled out what looked like a grape of sorts. Truth be told, it was anything but a fruit. It was an interesting concotion of various detoxing elements and nausea supressors. It wasn't the most tasty of remedies, but it was strong enough to ward off the wretching induced by any level of inebriation. With a careful hand, the young girl lifted the sick woman's chin and pressed the pill-like object to her lips.

"Here you go, now. Don't chew it, just swallow. I know it doesn't taste to good, but you'll thank me...." she murmured encouragingly.
