Dreadnought Sly Merrimack ~I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster~   Merrimack released Selene's wrist reflexively when she screamed. "You're hurt!? When did that happen!?" I didn't injure her did I? He asked, before being hit with a realization. "It was when that little brat threw you at me, wasn't it!? And you just kept on battling!? That's why you put your Mega Glove on backwards!" She's starting to look really pale, too... ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

ᴘƖєαѕє ɗᴏη'ᴛ Ɩєαᴠє ຕє ᴛʜɪѕ ωαу....🌹 'At least he's forgotten about the pictures for now.' Selene thought as she noticed that both of her pokemon were on either side of her. She sat down on Golden Heart's tail to use it as a bench. She slid off her backpack, being mindful of her right wrist. She got out her water bottle and drank from it. "Yes to all three... I wrapped my arm around you when we were falling and it got caught between you and the ground..." She admitted to him, looking at him for a moment then looked away.
"It was the first regular Pokemon battle I actually enjoyed battling in a long time.... I didn't want to end it early due to to a minor injury. Stupid I know, but it was nice not battling a pokemon poacher, hunter, or a member of Team Rocket for a change. " She said, not knowing that her childhood friend was a member of Team Rocket now.
Then after his last comment about her mega glove being on backwards, a light went off in her head after some his other comments from earlier came back to her. A slight smile came to her face at that, realizing that he sort of admitted that the flowers had been from him. "So they were from you... Took you long enough to realized that the glove was on the wrong hand Sylvester." She began before drinking some more water. "Doesn't seem like it's been close to a year now since I lost my title." Selene said with a slight sigh at the end of the sentence. She still had those flowers saved in her scrapbooks from being Kalos Queen.... I must confess that I feel like a monster~  "I-I don't know what you're talking about, you're probably just delusional from the pain. We need to find you some help." He replied, realizing he'd said too much. Poachers, hunters and Team Rocket? What has she been doing out here? Couldn't have been Monitor either, she's been too busy managing this operation with Harrison - Harrison, that's it! Remembering what Edmund had said about his partner, Merrimack continued, "There should be a Pokémon Ranger somewhere around here. We'll find one of them, It's basically their job to help people who get themselves hurt out here." ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

She went over to Sly, walking like she was on the catwalk, swaying her hips slightly as she made her way to him. Then she grabbed his vest collar with her left hand to try to pull his head down to hers, try to at least. "Now listen here you Sly boy, don't go denying what we both know to be true. I'm not that far gone yet." She said before giving him a wink and letting go of his vest. Then she twirled around to to go back over to her bag to get the first aid kit out of her ranger backpack.
She froze for a moment with how he phased his comment about there was a Ranger nearby, struck an odd chord within her. 'How did he know that there was a Ranger nearby? Could he be... No, I might be becoming a bit delusional from pain and the fever to think that Sylvester could be involved with one of those three groups of villains I mentioned earlier...'Selene thought before she sat back down on Cœur D'or near her bag.
"Your are are right about a Ranger being nearby, it's me." She said as she pulled out the first aid kit for humans first and then the pokemon first aid kit second. "Feel free to get some revives out for Judge, Executioner, and Jury out of the pokemon first aid kit. " Selene began as she went through the first aid kit for humans. She found a single dose of Advil. She took it and washed it down with her water. Selene looked to see what time it was so she could keep up with how long it been since she took the Advil later on. But instead she went to get a first aid kit from her bag and dropped a bomb on him. "YOU'RE THE RANGER!?" he blurted out in disbelief. ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

"Yes, why must that be strange to almost everyone I know since I became one? It shouldn't be that much of a surprise. My parents run the nature preserve over there on Exeggutor Island and I helped with that in the past too. I have seen the pokemons that the Rangers that have brought to my parents to care for on their small farm after being rescued from the poachers, hunters, Team Rocket, and or any other groups similar to them. Plus after Team Rocket harassed me and trying to steal my pokemon as well while I was in Kalos... It motivated me to become a Pokemon Ranger to help others . Why is that it hard for other others besides my family, Estelle and Elio to understand that I want to help protect pokemon and people out here? " She asked with a exasperated look on her face as she hated it when people thought that she wasn't up for this job. She loved it and was more for-filling to her than being Kalos Queen.
"Honestly, I wasn't planning to stay in the spotlight forever as Kalos Queen and I didn't want to be an idol afterwards whether I had lost to someone else or stepping down as queen. If I had stay the queen for another year, I would be stepping down this season. I would have been past ready to get back home here full time. I have enjoyed having more free time to myself that I didn't have as Kalos Queen." She said, thinking how this injury will set her back in her violin lessons.
"How did you know that there was a ranger nearby?" She asked him, still finding his statement about it being strange. Yet, the whole thing of him wanting her to think of him being dead would make since if he had somehow gotten involved with one of the villain groups......'No, I can't think about that. He couldn't, he wouldn't...'Selene thought as she looked through the kit for a compression bandage since she didn't find an icy hot patch.

I must confess that I feel like a monster~  And now she's going off about people underestimating her, as if Pokémon Performer to Pokémon Ranger is a perfectly natural transition - for her maybe. Merrimack thought as he collected the revives she offered him. That's fine, let her think that's what bothers me rather than... Sly realized keeping Selene out of Team Rocket's reach would be a lot harder. However, he didn't get to dwell on that for long, as Selene finished her venting and asked how he knew there was a Ranger nearby. That was easy enough to answer. "'Cause there's always a Ranger around here. Remember, I grew up here, too. I can't even count how many times Ol' Ranger Beall scolded me for training Jury in the the Canyon." ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

ᴘƖєαѕє ɗᴏη'ᴛ Ɩєαᴠє ຕє ᴛʜɪѕ ωαу....🌹 Selene chuckled at his mentioning of Ol' Ranger Beall and her doubts were washed away. "Yeah... I remember watching her running you out of there several times. Then she would come back and chase me out if I hadn't already left. Gihee," Selene admitted to Sly as she hadn't told him that before. She wondered if Sly had known that she would watch him train there. "If it hadn't been for her backing me up when I applied for the Ranger job, I wouldn't have it. I'm sure of that and thankful that she backed me up. I was planning to check out getting a job at the Aether Foundation if I hadn't gotten the job here." She said as she realized that there wasn't a compression bandage left in her kit..
"Damn... I don't have the icy hot patches or a compression bandage left in the kit. If Pancham hadn't picked up your scent when he did, I would have been refilling the first aid kit first thing at the office." She said, then realized how that might came off. "That's what I usually do when I first get to the office each day. I'm not blaming you for not having what I need." Selene felt that she needed to clarify that to him considering what happened while they were battling earlier.
"Today is a Tuesday so Dr. Zemaitis will be visiting the island. I should head towards the pokemon center as that's where he sets up his mini clinic.He'll have what I need to help my wrist. Need to go there anyways to heal up the rest of my pokemon as well." She said as she closed up the human first aid kit and put it away.
Then she got a Max Revive out for Amalthea as she was planning to ride on her to get to the Sea Folk Village where the pokemon center was. Selene let her out and gave her the Max Revive after getting off of Cœur D'or. "Time to return Cœur D'or and thanks again for your hard work today." She said before seeing Cœur D'or looking at Judge with warm smile before returning to her poke ball. Selene smiled at that as it seems that her pokemon was interested in Judge without the use of an Attract move.
Selene looked back at Sly before picking up the pokemon first aid kit to put back into her backpack. "Need anything else from the pokemon first aid kit before I put it up?" She asked Sly, wondering if he would want some potions to finish up healing his three pokemons or go to the pokemon center to do so. A part of her wanted him to come with her to the pokemon center so they would have more time together..

I must confess that I feel like a monster~  Despite Selene's refusal to blame him for her lack of supplies, Merrimack couldn't help but feel a wave of guilt wash over him, especially as he'd just used some of her supplies to treat his own Pokémon. She wouldn't even be hurt if I wasn't here. He thought. While he still wanted to blame Braixen - and even Selene for not training her better - the wrist injury was just another addition to the long list of wrongs he'd committed against this incredible girl, who nevertheless offered him more of her limited supplies. "Nah, I got this," Merrimack replied, holding up a TM44. "Rest up, everyone." He instructed his Pokémon. The three did so, relaxing and drifting into sleep as their health was restored. "They can sleep it of while we head toward the Pokémon Center." He said, returning his team to their Pokéballs. ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

Selene observed as she had been the one to carry extra healing items for the two of them during the island challenge.'Well, he had to after leaving me behind in Lumiose City like he did.' She thought to herself as placed the pokemon first aid kit back into her backpack.
Then she got the bridle out of to use with Amalthea as she was planning to ride her to the Seafolk Village. The bridle didn't have the mouth bit as she thought those were cruel to use. It was as she was putting the bridle on Amaltha when she realized that he had said we. Selene was shocked as she was had expected to part ways here even thought she had hoped for him to with her a ways to the village. There was a slight blush on her face due to that as she put on her backpack. "Alright, let's head that way." Selene said as she got on Amalthea's back and then had her to begin to head out.

I must confess that I feel like a monster~ "Not exactly." Merrimack answered Selene's question about healing items. "But I do keep a bunch of TMs on me. One of them lets my Pokémon learn Rest, which heals them up, but makes 'em sleepy for a little while. I like to use it between battles, then switch back to something more battle-ready." Merrimack explained as he started walking along side Amalthea. ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

They were closing in to the Ancient Poni Path when her family came into her mind. She had Amalthea come to a stop as she wasn't sure if he still wanted to come with her beyond here. "So, are you still alright to continue going with me even though there's a higher chance that my parents or Kahiau might see you with me? I know Kahiau will not pleased to see you with me after what happened back then. Nor my parents for that matter but Kahiau would want to fight you on sight. He's the one that you would have to be concern about." Selene said as she thought back to his reaction to Sly ditching her back then.
"Something to consider as we're about to pass by where they live. I rather you stay with me on the off chance that something not pleasant happens before I get to the Pokemon Center but I'll leave that up to you." Selene said to him before feeling like something was off some how and hoped that she wasn't blushing due to saying that she wanted him with her currently.

Dreadnought Sly Merrimack ~I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin
I must confess that I feel like a monster~ "They can't do any worse than you did." Merrimack answered Selene's comment about the chance of running into her family. "'Sides, any of them should be more concerned with getting you to the Pokémon Center, and it's not like I'm planning to stick around or anything." The idea of getting into another battle sounded pretty good, Merrimack still wasn't satisfied with the result of his last one, though he was enjoying the chance it gave him to see Selene again - in a way at least. In another way, it was torture knowing after this fleeting moment he'd have to leave her again - or worse, he might have to battle her to keep her away from Team Rocket's business. Still if it came to that, at least he could let her get away afterwards - unlike Monitor.
"You know, maybe you should consider that job at the Aether Foundation." Merrimack started. "You'd be a lot less likely to get hurt, and wouldn't need so many of those revives." Knowing that would never convince her he added, "Plus they need smart people like you, any idiot can fight off Pokémon hunters and Rocket grunts." ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

Knowing now that something had happened to keep him from meeting me back then brought some peace about the situation.Also venting directly with him about it helped too...' She thought to herself as she surveyed the area and hoping that Kahiau wouldn't see them together.
"Really? Maybe one day but not right now. I enjoy being outdoors and don't want to be cooped inside somewhere all day. I love the freedom that I have with my job here and that I can be a hermit in a way. " Selene said as Po appeared and climbed up Amalthea's tail and then settled in front of her. Selene facepalmed with her left hand as she realized what had been wrong earlier. "Perhaps I'm an idiot... To not realized that Po wasn't with us sooner..." Selene said as she face went back to being paler again even it had regain some color earlier. A sigh escaped her lips before having Amalthea going again. She was debating whether she should have her go faster than she was. She dared not to though...

"Nature's Madness, I forgot how much you give me whiplash sometimes - when I'm surprised you became a Pokémon Ranger, you get all upset as if I was saying you can't do it, but then when I say you can do anything your folks can, you go on about how they're 'better battle wise.' You already beat me - what's your brother supposed to do anyway? Call on Tapu Fini to smite me?" ~I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun
