The party seemed to be breaking up, or at least moving along now, so Seiya finished playing the current song, then put the ukalele down. "Pleasure, of course," he said to the odd bird Pae in response to her introduction. "I'm Seiya." He took in the other names shared, then following the lead of the bearded fairies, packed up his new belongings and prepared to follow after the majority of the group in their ascent. He was going to pick up his drink as well...but apparently, someone else already had. Not wasting time puzzling over the missing drink, he shrugged and assumed he'd get another later. The fairies seemed quite generous with giving them out; which raised the question of why someone would need to take his, but perhaps it was just a mistake.

The paths leading upward were crowded with other Pae'il, mostly the land-bound kind, so rather than add to the traffic, Seiya decided to take to wing. Starry wings fluttering, the constellation Fae ascended slowly, watching the others below in case anyone else needed help. Even flying, he was starting to feel the strain by the time he reached the campsite for the night. He was getting tired, hungry, and thirsty as well. Luckily, the campsite seemed the place to fix at least a couple of those. Not sure about rest, or at least sleep, with all the noise, but perhaps it'd calm down later. First, food and drink.

He joined those already eating, managing to snag some roast and bread before a particularly large Solamir could snatch it from him. Already nibbling at the food, unable to wait, he looked around for the drinks. Several Solamir were laughing and shouting bawdily from another table, others holding up mugs in the air. That had to be the place. Joining the partying fairies with a smile, he barely opened his mouth before a mug was shoved into his hand. "Oh, why thank you!" he shouted, if only to be heard over the noise. He missed the winks and knowing grins being exchanged by the fairies as he tipped the mug back.

Oh my...that burned a bit, didn't it? warm against the night's chill, that was for certain, but it took one by surprise. Seiya sputtered and coughed, shaking his head. Wow. He eyed the glass a bit more suspiciously this time, then tried again. Surely it wouldn't be so bad if he were expecting it, right?

Apparently so. Several subsequent attempts resulted in a snoring Seiya, sprawled on the ground and apparently none too concerned about the Solamir that decided to use his braids as bedding, making himself at home on the Fae's head as he continued his own drinking.

Ugh, vulgar, rude, noisy little bugs. Tanyth was seriously considering that option to say 'forget this' and head for home. At least she'd be away from all this noisy debauchery. She was just about to straighten her many layers of clothes and leave, when the glitter of something in the corner of her eye, far more interesting than anything else she'd seen here, caused her to hesitate. My goodness...a jewel as fine as that was too good for these dirty little fairies. It belonged to someone who would appreciate the finer things in life.

Sliding over closer to what appeared to be some sort of leader of the group, if there even was a leader, he moved with the silent grace of a predator, despite her appearance of a spoiled City Pae. Her long tail twitched with eagerness, moving as if it had a life of its own, slithering up towards the fairy's opposite shoulder...

Caught with her hand in the cookie jar...or fairy's tangled beard in this case...Tanyth hissed with fury when the fairy guffawed at her attempt of distraction and smacked her hand away. "Ah ah, missy! Gonna' take more than a mere worm like that to worry a Solamir!" he chuckled, effortlessly brushing her tail from his other shoulder as well. Tanyth cradled her hand, still hissing, her tail waving with irritation at being caught, as well as being touched in general. "Dirty, little..."

"Tsk tsk, rude too, huh? Guess someone never taught a lady to be nice!" In seconds, the fairy had darted into her supply pack, rustled around, then come back out again, holding her lantern and handaxe behind his back. "Gonna' have to take away your toys until you can behave, little girl," he taunted, strutting away just out of reach of the angry snake's fury.

If she couldn't lash out physically... "Take 'em, you little pest!" she shot back. As if she was going to use the axe for anything. Did she look like the type to come on a vacation to do manual labor? Not hardly. And the lantern, well...it was light enough out here for her. She could see just fine in the dark anyway if she needed. So went her rationalization, the snake demon stomping off in a huff to get away from everyone for a while. Not that she was leaving. Oh no, not after that. She wasn't going anywhere; she wouldn't give the little Solamir the satisfaction.

Nightwing's eyes moved between the two teenagers before settling on Wild Moon again. He leaned over, getting down to eye level with the teen before speaking again. "You do realize, your mother is going to have both our hides, right?"

At that point, they were interrupted by the fairies' announcement, and the night guard straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest. Hmm...he wasn't entirely sure what the little prince's motivations might have been...the girl beside him maybe? Adventure? Or just some teen mischief completely incomprehensible to adult minds? Who knew. However, the wheels were turning in the guard's mind. They were already out here and their disappearance would have been noticed, so there was no getting back without their absence going unseen at this point. And who knew...maybe a little 'roughing it' would be good for the boy.

He fixed a stern eye on the young Faun, clearly not about to take any further mischief. "Alright, we're already here. So, if you're wanting to go through with this for whatever reason, we will. But, only because I'll be here making sure you don't get yourself in trouble, little prince. Understood?" He didn't really need an answer. He'd already made up his own mind. If Princess Luna were going to have their heads anyway, then maybe he could at least see the boy learn something and do some growing up first...before he was confined to the Tree for life for this little stunt.

Apparently, the next campsite was still further up the mountain. Glancing upwards, Nightwing debated the possibility of flying up rather than climbing this time. Though, if he took to the air, he could likely keep an eye on Wild Moon, while also seeing more of the surrounding area. "I'll be scouting the path ahead. Follow behind, both of you."

A long, but relatively uneventful climb later, the guard was exploring the campsite further, having finished an impromptu dinner and managing to avoid the questionable drinks being shoved in his face. Granted, the taunting jeers from the little Solamir fairies were starting to grow irritating. Nevermind that whole insult with the pack when he'd arrived. The temptation to take out his frustrations on one of the fairies was just too great to pass up with the sparring matches opened up. Several other Pae'il seemed to take the challenge...none of which fared very well. Hmm...

Still, what did he have to lose? Besides more pride...

Entering the ring as the next challenger, he narrowed his eyes at the fairy. "Hey, armor and all! This one's looking for a real fight, boys! Should I let him have it?" The Solamir's taunts were answered with raucous laughter and jeers in the Fauny's direction, but he kept his vision focused on his target.

"Let's dance, fuzzy," Nightwing shot back, hiding a smirk when the fairy shot him the evil eye. The match was on.

Yipes clunked his pack down and set his little stolen rock/squirell beside it. Taking a look around, he figured he was doing pretty good. He hadnt lost anyone and he had managed to feed his rock on the hike up. Though the rock/squirell was looking a bit green from all the waving Yipes had been giving him, he was fareing pretty good with the mulicolored nutcase. Looking about, he noticed a large ring with faeries and other pae in it. They all seemed to be dancing. Though it always ended in one of them passed out, Yipes was thoroughly intrigued.

Stepping up, he waved his entire body with excitement when the solamir faerie hollered for the next contestant. "I'll tango!!" he shouted, as he stepped into the ring. Giving his opponet a polite smile, he waited for the bell to ding. That seemed to be the begin signal.

((rolling))

It seemed that neither him nor his opponet were willing to faint for the finality of the dance. "My partner must like me!!" he thought.. Though his opponet did attempt a weird dance move that reminded him of a headlock. He merely wiggled out of it and kept dancing around the fighting ring. He was beautiful. If only he didn't look like he was having seizures as he moved.

Wild Moon gulped and rubbed the back of his neck, offering an awkward smile to Nightwing before it faded completely. "Yes, I know how Mother will react to my disappearance. " he sighed softly. If only he knew his sister had gone out too.... maybe he'd feel less guilty right now. But still...

As Nightwing spoke and the fairies began declaring the need to move to the next campsite, his ease relaxed a little bit. Nightwing didn't seem to be ripping him away and back home. Just watching over him. He could live with that... "I'll promise to behave Nightwing." he said softly before glancing back at Sweetie Bell.

He smiled at her and laughed. "Ah sorry about that... My mom gets a bit... erm... well lets just say cranky about things." he said and sighed again, fixing his hair that had gone crooked from him rustling his hands through it so much. Though something else caught his eye and he leaned over to see if she spotted it too. "Do you see that thing in his beard?" he asked sweetie, trying to be discreet with his pointing, but he couldn't much help it.

It bothered him.

A gem in his beard. That was just.... uhg..

Wild Moon twitched slightly as he beckoned Sweetie Bell to follow him. He attempted to sneak up towards the side of the fair and gently reach in to grab the Amethyst from its beard. He wasn't quick enough. The sheer utter tangles and waves of this hairy fairy sent chills up the extremely OCD teen and he got caught trying to straighten the fella's beard instead of grabbing the gem.

Darn. He probably could have used that as a bargaining chip for his mom... maybe... possibly not.

Wild Moon glanced at Sweetie Bell to see if she had any better luck. If not... well..

At least the hairy fairy looked pretty damn snazzy now.

Well things certainly livened up quick around here. Pae were trying to snatch gems out of hairy fairy beards, others were getting plastered, and still others were battling fairies! Now that sounded like something he could get into.

Stepping into the ring, Kratos eyed the fairies, looking to see who would be his opponent. When one finally stepped forward, he smirked, cracking his knuckles and rolling his head about on his shoulder. "May the best man win." he smirked as he flexed his wings before lunging at the fairy.

An epic skirmish followed suite, neither backing down, both landing blow after blow of friendly competitive fighting... or was it? In the end however, there could only be one victor, and for as much effort as Kratos pushed forward, it wasn't enough. No extra bottle of spirits for him. But at least he had a damn good time. "Well played sir." he congratulated the fairy, giving him a cocky sort of smirk and head nod before stepping out of the ring and eyed those taking flight towards the next camping area. "Till next time." he called over his shoulder before spreading his wings and taking off to the next area to wait.

Caléndula looks at her map, her belly still warm with the sip of spirits she'd already had. It looked to be a steep upward hike to their actual campsite. She frowns. Perhaps she'd save some energy by merely flying! Stowing her map, she lifts into the air and flutters her way up the mountain.

By the time she reaches the real campsite, she's realized her error. Surely it would have been much less effort to simply have walked! Grimacing, she folds her wings against her back. The muscles there burn and twitch with overuse. And, she realizes, groaning, there's still the tent to pitch.

But the fire and the celebration of the Solamir fairies looked so enticing...Caléndula finds herself drawn toward it, forgetting the tent for now. She joins in the revelry and merry-making, helping herself to the spirits the Solamir fairies had so generously provided. The drink fills her with a warm sort of feeling, and her vision goes pleasantly fuzzy at the edges. She finds herself lounging near and on other Pae, constantly giggling for no reason.

She flushed a little, afraid that Wild Moon would now be made made to go home. But Nightwing seemed to consider the situation and Sweetie Belle smiled when the prince was allowed to stay. Provided that the two of them stay close behind. Of course. She giggled when Wild Moon apologized and shook her head. "Oh no, you don't have to apologize!" she assured him, then blushed. "My sister would probably have a fit if she knew I were here, haha."

The climb up wasn't quite as hard as the filly had expected, though perhaps that could have something to do with the book she'd been reading when Wild Moon saw her. Once up at the meeting place, Wild Moon pointed out something in one of the fairies beards. "It looks sparkly," she said and followed him, trying to be as discreet as he was. She watched him try for the gem first, then covered her laugh with a hand when he got caught. She moved closer to try her hand, thinking Rarity would love it, and might forget all about how her sister had actually obtained it.

Except she had even less luck than the prince! She barely touched the fairy's beard when he caught her hand. She grinned at him sheepishly before running back to Wild Moon. It was then she noticed another teen stepping into the ring with the fairies. (Nicky!) "Hey, look at her! She's gotta be pretty brave to wanna try fighting a fairy, right?" she said and went a little closer to watch. The fight didn't last long and the teen lost. "Nice try!" Sweetie Belle called to the girl and waved. She didn't mean it in a mean way, of course, she was far too nice for that. After the teen left the ring, it looked like Nightwing decided to try his luck.

Ruze grinned. "Cool. So, Noir, what made you come on this mountain trip?" she asked and flopped down next to him. She bent her arm carefully, smiling as she brought Tizzy up and stroked under her chin. "You seem like a kinda quiet guy, like this normally wouldn't be your scene," she grinned. She couldn't help it. He was cute, and seemed really shy, which made her want to tease him a little. She snorted at the Solamir fairy's announcement. It wouldn't take them long to get up to the meeting point; they had wings.

Once up at the meeting place, Ruze eyed the battle arena. "That looks like fun," she grinned. "Come watch me whoop a fairy!" she laughed and tugged Noir toward it. She stepped into the ring with the fairy and the fight began. Ruze ultimately won, and was given a bottle of what they called the Solamir Celebratory spirits. "Huh. This sounds tasty...wanna try it with me, Noir?" she grinned and waved the bottle at him.

This was awful, purely awful. Olea shifted on her hooves, burying the child's book deep down in her pack; the look she had been given had turned her cheeks a bright red, burned with embarrassment. She wasn't weak, really, just strength wasn't her strength. Her embarrassment turned to horror as she saw both the Prince and a member of Luna's Royal Guard as well as a few other fauns and faunies from the Tree. Quickly, she hid as best as she could, not wishing to face the shame of being in a place that she was feeling more and more that she did not belong.

"But these mountains are not for the faint of heart! This is your last chance to turn around if you may be a coward, or if you think you are too weak yet to confront the looming terror of these mountains! There are creatures up here that your mind couldn't even imagine, all ready to consume you..."

The Solamir Fairie's words struck a chord with Olea. Maybe it would be better if she did just leave. She wasn't strong, not like others she knew....

With a sigh, she walked over to where drinks were being offered. "One please... Liquid courage if you've got it." With one swift motion, she threw her head back and downed the drink as fast as she could.

Finding himself unable to best you, nor you unable to best him, the Solamir fairy you are fighting with challenges you to a most great a noble tradition. He says that this is the tradition that the ancestors of his ancestors used to determine the great winner of battles!

An arm wrestle.

Immediately, the crowd around erupts into applause, and a few of the fairies get a table nearby for you to lean forward against and press your elbows down upon. An announcer gives a very thorough set of rules, declaring the boundaries of the ancient and noble tradition. Naturally, the other arm must be kept behind the back at all times. Leaning the body over the arm in an attempt to put more force into it or push them down was against the rules. However, leaning in overall is not. At no time may either challenger break their hold on the others hand, or it will be considered an immediate disqualification.

And, finally...

No wussies.

Though calling each other a wussy was, naturally, expected.

"LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!"

OOC
Roll 2d100. Once again, the first roll is you, and the second roll is the Solamir fairy. If you manage to get a higher roll than the Solamir Fairy, you have bested him once and for all! Your reward is a bottle of Solamir Celebratory Spirits and a well-crafted silver helm!

If you lose, on the other hand, the Solamir fairy expects something as a prize from you. You can pick anything on your person, but try not to offend!

If you tie again, the two of you shake hands and share a hardy bottle of Solamir Celebratory Spirits.

"Jus just though I should try to get out a bit more" He said softly in response to her question as they sat down after the long hick to the campsite, he had amused that she would have gone her own way went they started moving but she had stayed next to him on the trip so far. "N no not really, I uh, well to be ho honest I thought there would be le less people on this trip." He turned a bit purple at her teasing, which soon turned into a obvious bright red blush as she grab his arm and dragged him along with her to the arena. The red on his face wasn't as obvious but still there when she come back form beating the fairy up and claiming her prize. "Go good job?" He fidgeted some more as she asked him to drink with her. He wasn't much of a drinker, but from what he had seen of her fighting the fairy, it seemed likely she's be able to woop him too. He began to debate the likelihood of her beating him up for not drinking, it seemed very slim. "I I I'm not much of a drinker." He tried to turn the drink down before remembering that the faeries were going around calling people wussies and he'd rater not be accosted by bearded faeries who seemed to love their spirits. "I guess I co could try a little?"

"Thanks! That was fun!" she said and unscrewed the cap on the bottle of spirits. Whoo, that smelled strong. Like it could knock her on her backside with one sip. Perfect. She pouted a little when it looked like he was gonna turn a drink down, but then he changed his mind and she grinned. "Awesome, I hate to drink alone," she said and laughed before taking a swallow straight from the bottle and handing it over to Noir.

"Ooh this is....tasty~" she said before passing out. Whoops.

Noir took the bottle from her and was about to drink it when she passed out. He fidgeted a bit before poking her "He hey you you okay?" She didn't wake up and it was clearly she wasn't going to wake up again any time soon. He flailed a bit and made odd hand gestures at Tizzy the snake while trying to figure out what to do.

After a bit he took a shaky breath and tried to calm down. Looking around he saw materials for the tents they were supposed to make. "Hey tizzy I'm going to get stuff to set up a tent for Ruzeh okay?" He but the lid back on the bottle of spirits and put it in the top of his bag as he gathered the items while keeping and eye on Ruzeh, he was sure Tizzy would be able to keep people form stepping on her but he wanted to be sure she'd be all right.

After getting all the items he started to put them together, sliding the metal poles into place so that the tent would stay up and finding a relatively soft piece of ground that was close to were she was passed out to pitch the tent. After that He bent down and started putting the spikes into the ground so that the tent wouldn't fly away in the night or slide around. Standing back up he double checked his work on the tent to make sure it was steady before turning back to tizzy. "Think you can manged to get her inside?" He asked, finding the idea of picking the female pae up and carrying her into the tent awkward he hoped the snake would be able to, he doubted it but it didn't hurt to ask right? of course there was also the chance that the snake was just a normal snake and didn't understand a word he was saying in which case he'd look like an idiot, oh well.

Alright, so the fairies had beards and looked tough for their size...still, what sort of fight could something that small put up against something so much larger than it?

Apparently, 'a pretty good one' was the answer.

By the end, Nightwing and the Solamir had broken apart once more, staring each other down as the crowd whooped and hollered. The Fauny was panting, surprisingly, but not ready to give up yet. He rolled his right shoulder, preparing to dive into the fray again about the time the crowd took up a new cheer.

Apparently, the age old method of settling disputes and stalemate fights was...

"An arm wrestling contest?" he questioned, tilting his head oddly. Strange, but...if that was the custom, who was he to question it? This was their land, their rules. Besides, so far, he'd given as good as he'd got; there was no shame in that. In fact, he'd even started to feel a bit better about this whole thing.

"Alright, let's do this!" He slammed his elbow onto the table...then realized he'd have to do some adjusting for height differences. A lot of adjusting. And without cheating in the process. Turns out it was really hard to get much leverage when gripping such a tiny, strong hand on a shorter forearm...and wearing smooth, polished, metal armor while trying to get better friction...and...

At least that's what his excuse was for losing.

When his arm slipped and his hand was shoved back onto the table, a cheer went up from the Solamir's comrades gathered around. Nightwing paused, massaging his hand before offering it to the fairy to shake. "Good fight," he conceded.

He tried not to wince at the returned grip.

Afterwards, he paused in thought, then reached beneath his breastplate, removing a small medal. It appeared to be an award of some sort. "A deal's a deal," he conceded, holding it out to the Solamir who'd bested him. "It's not much but, I don't have a lot either. 'Awarded for honor and bravery in the face of adversity,'" he quoted, remembering the ceremony back in Equestria. It had meant a lot at the time, but how much did it mean here, with Equestria left far behind? What did all his achievements in that far-off land mean here? It'd been rather plain from the start of this most recent trip. He was starting over here. Starting from scratch, a clean-slate; he'd have to earn his honor and respect from this new land's peoples as he had in the old. He flipped the medal towards the fairy. "Well earned, Tiny," he quipped with a grin.
