Jawara watched as the younger males took the lighter parts of the buffalo, such as the legs, before he took hold of her torso. If the scavengers knew what was best for them, they'd stay away from the kill. The lions still had parts to collect after taking the torso to Pride Rock. He could imagine the rest of the pride remaining at the Rock waiting impatiently for their food. The injured lions of the pride and the remaining cubs did as well. He knew Abaeze would be hungry by now, as would young Musa. The mud-colored cub was probably waiting for the hunting party to return, ready to ask the cubs that watched the kill what happened. The party was already on its way towards the Rock, and so should the male and huntress.

Even with her short lived nap earlier in the day, Ayita was exhausted. Usually she wasn't like this. But between the drama earlier this morning, and the little fiasco about Musa and Abaeze. It was tiring. The head huntress wouldn't let it show. Her mind was tired. Her body just wouldn't give up. Taking a hold of the slag of meat they were to be dragging, she started to heave it in the direction of priderock. This would have probably taken a while. Still might take a while. Hadn't truly anticipated this bit of meat to be that heavy. Maybe, Ayita was physically tired. Either way, it wasn't allowed to collapse until everything was done and over with. She already knew she would be sleeping tomorrow. Definitely.
(This is all I can do for this right now xD my brain hurts.)

The dark male dragged the fresh meat with Ayita. Its weight was surprising, but they would have to move it to the Rock. They had hungry mouths to feed. Grunting with the effort, he dragged the torso with all his might across the dried grasslands of the pride's territory.
[Exit Jawara to Pride Rock after all meat is transported.]

It was good to be away from Pride Rock. For the most part anyway. It was more open and less of the feeling of being cramped. The questions and assumptions wouldn't happen out here. Misae felt comfortable. Not that the lioness was fully uncomfortable with the others of her ever so large family. Hard to truly explain. Head low and eyes low, those ears drooped. Even with the company of Jawara, things in that mind weren't going to change. "S-s-sorry if I'm causing you t-t-trouble." The ever so favorite apology. Hadn't she been the one not to say to apologize for everything? Didn't seem to apply to her it seemed. Quite a double standard.

[Enter Jawara from Pride Rock.]
Jawara smirked and rubbed his cheek against the shy, often-apologizing lioness. "And here I thought I was the one that always apologized." He chuckled, glad that he had followed the lioness. It was nice being with her again after a year-long separation. She had grown considerably from her previous small size. Now she was almost as tall as Abaeze, and she seemed a little more confident than when she was a cub. "I've never seen you as trouble, not in the negative way at least." She was the good kind of trouble, a challenge he wanted to overcome. She was talented, smart, beautiful, and he deeply cared about her.

Striding along through the tall grasses of the savannah which was the Pride Lands, there was nothing going on in that mind which was to be unexpected. Maybe run into a guard or a warrior. Sneak up on some possible prey. But never did it occur to the lightly colored lioness that a dark cheek would be rubbed against her. Misae's bright gold eyes widened in pure shock as her head snapped to the side. Staring Jawara down mentally questioning why he had done such a thing. It was one thing to greet each other with rubbing against each other or a thank you. But this was a different situation and the lioness didn't know how to handle this. Shying away to the side she kept her head low. "S-s-seems n-not." Watching the dark male from the corner of her eyes, Misae kept up her walking. Unsure of what to do. Hopefully her mind decided to figure out what was going on soon. And opened to realize what was going on.

The male chuckled as Misae shied away from his action. Now that was something that anyone should do, whether they were brave or shy. "Now that is a reaction I expect from anyone, but what I don't expect is someone so gentle and talented as you to shy away from cubs." The male got right to the point of one of his reasons for going after the young lioness. "I know that if you don't wish to speak about it, I will not press you, but what happened between you and the cubs? Your face seemed to be glowing when you spoke to them, and they seemed to really love you." He told her bluntly and honestly. He really thought, from the small snippets he saw of the conversation, that she was getting along with the cubs and coming out of her shell. So why did she suddenly run away? It worried him greatly.

"I'm n-n-not that t-t-talented at all... I h-haven't p-proven m-m-myself yet." Keeping a little bit of distance between herself and Jawara, Misae occasionally turned her head. Bright eyes glancing at the dark male every once in a while. Farther they went from Pride Rock. "The c-cubs ask or r-rather though I m-m-might be capable of t-taking on a hyena... There is n-n-no way I possibly could." Putting herself down was one of the many things Misae was quite good at. Having always done it since she was little. Even though this shy lioness had once been brave. That was back when her small malnurished bodyand fear struck her often. She stood strong for her siblings. Things changed. Constantly did in her mind. Keeping her head and ears low the lioness huffed. This was horrible.

Jawara gave a small laugh as Misae kept her distance between them. She could be the cutest thing when she wanted to be, and when she acted without consciously knowing how cute she was. It was a shame she didn't have more self-esteem. She doesn't give herself much credit. "Oh Misae, you'd be surprised by how talented you are," he informed her, a smile on his muzzle as she told him about the cubs and hyenas. The rosy-brown male could guess which cub had mentioned the hyenas in the first place. Visiting the elephant graveyard had not taught the cub much, nor did having his sister nearly die from fighting the hyenas. "You'd be surprised what a lion or lioness is capable of when under pressure. I never thought I could save a cub from being killed in the river by a hungry crocodile when I was only a year old, yet I did and that cub's one of the strongest guards we have in the pride." He thought aloud, remembering that terrifying day two years ago. He still didn't know if that cub was stupid or foolish when he decided to cross the river when the crocodiles were gathering to feed on the wildebeest crossing the water.

Misae didn't quite understand what exactly Jawara was laughing at. Surely he wasn't laughing at her. Had she said something that was considered funny? Rethinking all the words she had chosen to stutter out, none of it seemed to be anything in the funny department. The gold eyes surrounded by white eyeshadow you could say simply averted their gaze from the male all together. Refusing to look at him now. There was something strange in the air as the two of them talked. It was unfamiliar and it bugged her. Misae didn't do well with unfamiliar. But she tried to push the feeling aside. "How am I s-s-supposed to be surprised when I d-don't see any t-talent I h-hold." Innocent little quizical questions that made a high amount of sense. Paws dug into the dirt as the two of them continued to walk. But randomly she stopped her walking all together. Putting that vision on Jawara for the hundredth time. "Y-you are b-brave. S-simple as that." Whether or not the male meant to mention his little task of saving that cub or not, it did not matter. She had heard it and she spoke. With head still hung low and ears relaxed. But giving a somewhat serious look.

Jawara stopped when he didn't heard Misae's paw-steps. Turning around towards the lioness, he didn't miss the serious look her eyes held as she hung her head low. "I'm only brave when I have to be, Misae." The warrior said softly, padding over to the lioness and coming face-to-face with her, his blue eyes sincere as he spoke to her. He wouldn't stand for her thinking so little of herself when she was such a great lion. "One day I may freeze up in a fight. I never know. My talents are limited, unlike yours. An excellent huntress, agile and quick, and smart, too." He wouldn't let her dis herself anymore. How could he show her how amazing she was? How she could draw the attention of any male with her beautiful voice, or the alluring way her shoulders moved as she walked?

There hadn't been any thought of the rosey maned male to turn and approach. Ears seemed to sink lower than they already were. Misae lowered her head a little bit more to the warrior. White rimmed gold eyes reflecting the light and emotion in thos eyes. It looked as if she was regretting speaking. Keeping her maw clamped shut she listened. Not mumbling a single word. Even that mind seemed blank as she listened. Muscles were tense and that tail was low. Seemed ready to turn and run. But with a series of words eyebrows lifted and ears perked forward. "Y-you would n-never freeze in a s-situation like that. Y-you're too g-g-g-ood of a warrior." The other part of the male's statement however made thos ears return to their lowered state. And immediately she took a step back. "Why are y-you saying things l-like that?..." At this rate Misae had no clue what was going on. Wouldn't really know.

Jawara smiled at the lioness, tempted to lift her chin up, but knew she would shy away as she usually did. He couldn't decide on her cuteness level, so he moved it to the back of his mind as he spoke honestly and bluntly to her. "Yes I would, and you know it." Circling the cream-colored lioness, he flicked his tail out towards the grasses and herds ahead of them. "Why am I saying these things? Well quite simply it's because I want you to see what the pride and I see in you. Hold your head high and lift your ears. Don't keep your eyes downcast. Every time someone tries to compliment you, you run away thinking you did something wrong. It hurts us that you don't believe we look upon you as our equal. It really does, Misae, and I really wish you'd see yourself the way I see you." Now the lion showed the hurt he had felt every time the lioness put herself down, his voice softening, not to lull her words, but because it was painful for him to remember every moment the lioness ran from him and the other lions of the pride when they tried to be nice, to make her feel like she belonged. It felt like a personal insult to them, to him, that she never accepted herself like they had accepted her.

Piercing eyes watched each and every move the dark male was making. From each movement of simple ligaments to move, to the muscles on that muzzle letting out words. Misae slowly turned her head so that vision would not be broken. Coming back around that head swiveled and kept a watchful eye. It wasn't that the lioness was afraid of Jawara himself. Oh no. It was actions. There was trust enough which he wouldn't do anything to harm her. It was more complicated than that. More so that there were no words to explain it. When a smoot voice reached those lowered ears, Misae let her eyebrows raise. Where was Jawara going with this. As he continued to speak and show physical speech, the lioness understood. In the process of not wanting to hurt anybody. Misae had hurt them greatly. Ears lifted but head stayed low. Turning her head away she somewhat itched to just leave. Run. Hide. Simply get away. But she stopped herself. It wasn't and wouldn't fix this problem. A problem she herself caused by doing that same thing. Lowering her head and staring straight at the ground below her, muscles fully relaxed. Lips twitched but her shoulders seemed to slump. "I d-d-didn't r-realize b-by trying not to hurt anyone I was d-doing exactly that." Swallowing her words Misae lifted her head and stepped forward. Not really knowing what to do she put her head under his and lifted. Taking a deep sigh she spoke again. Clearly. "I'm sorry.."

Jawara closed his eyes and gently leaned his head down agaisnt Misae's to show that he wasn't angry. He only hoped she would believe him. "No need to apologize...just please don't run away again." His voice was hushed, and he felt his heart well up with an emotion he never thought he would ever feel. If hewas told he would fall for a lioness this fast, he would hardly believe the idiot who told him such a thing, but he had; and he knew the possibilities of rejection were still high. But he was not focusing on winning the beautiful lioness Misae's heart. No, he was working towards making her comfortable with their pride. She wasn't an Outcast cub, she was a member of Pride Rock. "For all of us, we will hurt each other, but we will forgive, as a family will. We will always have rough days and good days, and we will always get under each other's paws, but that's normal for any family. So I wish to know, Misae: Do you consider yourself a part of our family? Because I sure do, and I never want you to leave us again." Using his muzzle, he lifted her muzzle to his eye-level and stared at her with honest and unguarded eyes. Would she run away again, or will she stay with him and the pride? He wanted her shoulders squared and firm, her chin set in a stubborn and adorable manner that told all she was a pride lioness, but the dark male wondered if she believed in herself enough to behave like what she is.
