Well he was glad the kit was having fun. Then again Erebus and Damian both had the same reaction pretty much so he should have figured that Valentine would have loved it as well. Well after Valentine became okay with it. It had taken a bit at first after all the meeting with Valentine’s father wasn’t exactly smooth and Ichiru was convinced that the kit thought his rather contained rage was directed towards him. Luckily with Zero’s help they have convinced Valentine they just wanted to bring him to Shyanne.
He probably should have sent Zero ahead with some sort of warning looking at the surprised faces on at least Damian and Shyanne. However Zero had been called away at the time and he hadn’t really wanted to wait. Shyanne had done enough waiting. He noticed there seemed to be a rather tense feel to the air as the different members of the family stared at each other. It was best to reconcile now however. Waiting till you where an adult… well he knew that feeling way to well.
“Hey there be Careful when your getting off” Ichiru stated not quite addressing the family situation yet. He had known Valentine was going to protest until he saw damian. He probably should have talked about the family on the way over but he was busy reassuring the kit as well he wasn’t some evil kidnapper.
“Well Valentine this is your mother Shyanne and your brother Damian. Hey Shyanne this is Valentine, thought you might actually want to meet him. He definitely wanted to meet you on the way over.” Ichiru finally stated.

Valentine stared at his... his mother. His father was right, she was beautiful! He felt pride as he realized their hair color was the same, tail flicking as he froze and stared. His mother wasn't moving. Was she rejecting him? It seemed so.... she wasn't even saying anything! Suddenly, movement flashed, and he felt warm fur press into him, his vision blurred by the color of bright fur.
"Oh, Valentine, you're alive! My baby, I was so worried. I wanted to see you, but I couldn't find you.... baby, sweetie, you smell awful. You need a bath. OhmygoshValentine." Shyanne was in a whirlwind of emotions as she licked the top of her sons head, dragging Damian over with her tail. Damian stumbled and tripped, but he soon was joining, paws reaching up as he lifted himself onto Valentine and nuzzled his cheek curiously.
"Are you staying? You're my brother? Can we do brother things, now?"

Ichiru watched the family with mixed emotions. He all of a sudden felt like he shouldn’t be standing there. While he was pleased he had gotten what he wanted and that was to see Shyanne happy and reunited with Valentine. He briefly wondered if the modeities should even be letting him stay there. After all he had helped tear his family apart and left Zero for dead for the most part.
However he kept his outward appearance neutral. His emotions wouldn’t affect the scene before him. He had gotten what he wanted and he was satisfied for the moment even though half of him wanted to step back and slide back into the woods. Perhaps he would try to fix things with zero later and that would fix the weird ache his heart was projecting.

It seemed Valentine and Damian would be busy chattering for a bit. Shyanne was fine with this. Her son had never met his bother before, and while Shyanne knew she wanted her baby back for so long she also knew it had been particularly hard for Damian to cope with the fact that his brother had almost been mentally dead to him. Damian had no friends as a kit, and his brother could have been one. And he hadn't. Yet, here the boy was, returned to them both and nuzzling into Damian's fur, nervously chattering at the boy.
And then her eyes fell upon Ichiru.
While he was doing a splendid job keeping a poker face, but she knew better. She could sense something was amiss. She just knew. And so she walked right up to him, nervously sitting before the taller male and viewing him quietly. Suddenly, she reached up, turning a vivid red around the cheeks as she kissed his own cheek.
"Thank you, Ichiru." She whispered gently, tail twitching happily as she glanced at her two sons before turning to look at the male. "This... means so much to me. Thank you so much." Nervously, she smiled at him, head dipping to nuzzle under his chin, a sweet and affectionate gesture. "You're an amazing man."

He had just been about to turn away and slink into the background when he realized that probably won’t be the best way course of action. He would have to sit here and watch the happy family scene. Then again it had always been sort of a happy family scene ever since Ichiru and Meris had stumbled across Shyanne when she had been taking care of Damian as a bcr. It had never bothered him before. An inward talk to his head he was going to prove he wasn’t going to have an issue this time either. Besides he was the one that brought them together.
He watched as Shyanne looked over towards him and gave her a smile, trying to show that he was fine or at least attempting to show that he was pretending to be fine. However she still walked up towards him with a nervous glide. He tilted his head to the side wondering had he done something off in the encounter. He wasn’t exactly the best on setting up family reunions.
Then he was blinking as she kissed his cheek surprising him. He should have expected it but he did secretly rank it up there when Damian was being a sneak and started calling him dad for a while. He waited for her to say anything to go along with the sudden kiss. “Well I felt like he should meet you at least. Since tw- his other parent didn’t seem to be manning up I took matters up myself I guess.” He answered and then let out a bitter smile when she said he was an amazing man. Well some things where meant for later dates.

The woman smiled happily at Ichiru, glancing back at her sons before turning to view the man once more.
"I'll never forget this." She mewed back. And she was right. She never would. She'd never forget his kindness, and hopefully she wouldn't need a reason to. What if he vanished one day? What if he just... left? This thought caused her tail to lash to the side, once, and thump against the ground in worry. No. She didn't want to think about that. She didn't want to lose another person.

Ichiru smiled back finally pushing back his more melancholy thoughts back. It didn’t really suit him he had made his decision twice, he supposed. Once for leaving Zero behind and to let Zero back into his life. Zero seemed to have forgiven him; then again Zero was a bit of a sap.
He was comfortable with his life again, he decided. “You really don’t owe me anything Shyanne, I just wanted to fix the family was all. It’s a good little family.” He finally stated watching the two boys play. “Twins should be together I guess. It took me a long time to figure it out and I’m not entirely sure I figured it all out but I didn’t want that regret between those two. You’re a good mother so I wanted you to have your family back. You’ll make them both feel wanted”

A blush touched her cheeks, head lowering. It was a kind family, yes, but it missed one thing... Her head raised and ears flicked back, wings fluttering. She had never thought she would ask this, never thought she'd even want it, however her heart pounded as she considered how to say it.
She knew she was strange. She believed in fairies and gnomes and such and was a woman who seemed more child than adult at times. She had fallen in love once before and lost it. It was then she believed she'd never love again, yet a man came into her life who caused a smile and made her son happy. He had always been there when she needed him, and even when she didn't. He had been a father figure to her son, and then even returned her other son to her. This man was everything she needed, and everything she wanted. Yet, would he even accept her?
The blush darkened as she looked away, wings fluttering. She didn't get an answer by hiding it. The woman looked up, ears flicked back as she considered what this could do to their friendship. But... She had to!
"Yes. It's a good little family. But... " But? Her heart hammered, head raising and eyes locking onto his as she sucked in a shaky breath. "Damian sees you as a father figure. You've always been a part of this family to us. You've always been there when we needed you. Even your brother has a place amongst us! But... Maybe... I.... Would like if you took a more permanent place in the family. A... Bigger role. As my sons father and my... My mate." She looked away towards her playing sons, wings flickering again before she glanced at Ichiru.
"I have always felt gratitude to you being here, but gratitude became... I... I don't know what would happen if you left. You made me happy at a time when the only man I cared for or dared to was my son. I... Trust you and care greatly for you. I miss you when you're gone. I know it's a heavy role, and I understand if you say no. But I want you to know how much you matter to us, and that I... I've grown to really hold deep affections for you. I like you!"
Like? She was too nervous to say love, unable to go further when she knew this man she cherished so could reject her any second. She looked at him, brave enough to hold eye contact despite her red cheeks. She meant everything she had to say, and more.

Ichiru watched Shyanne amused that she could wear her feelings on her face so easily. It was very endearing and probably what first caught his attention when Meris and he had been arguing that day at the river. He wandered if back then he had a clue how involved he was about to get with this family.
That it would help him eventually mend things with Zero. Suddenly his attention was brought back to shyanne and he watched as she looked away with a deeper blush. He hadn’t missed something had he? She hadn’t spoken about anything for a few seconds.
As she looked into his eyes, he went completely blank for once. Had she said what he thought she said. He knew about Damian, which was why he tried to hold back his more snarky moments, he had never been a father figure before although he had borrowed from memories of Zero. However he never thought that they would incorporate him in that much or that Shyanne would ever ask that question. Before he could clamp down on his emotions his eyes clouded over with happy tears. Being accepted as just him still was a bit of a wonder to him.
He needed to give her an answer before the silence that had suddenly come over him was taken the same way. “I… I never really thought of it as a heavy role or a role that really burdened me. I love spending time with Damian…” He trailed off as he looked over at the boys. He really didn’t mind. He wasn’t the one to do things out of obligation or a sense of duty. He generally did what he wanted, and he had wanted to be around this strange but at the same time almost perfect, at least to him, family.
“So I guess what I mean to say is…” Ichiru trailed off. Wait shouldn’t it be the guy doing the proposal. Except for in this instance it was best how Shyanne had done it. Ichiru probably would have never made the move wanting to keep from pushing Shyanne. This way it let him think of his feelings. “So what I mean to say is, I feel almost the exact same in my own way. I…if you are really sure you want me of all phims I would be honored to say I would love to have a more permanent place, I would love to have you as a mate Shyanne.”

Tears? She wanted to reach up and wipe them away, however didn't. Instead, she flicked her ears back and whined gently. She wanted to stop his tears, unsure what they were exactly until he spoke. Then, it made sense.
Her ears flicked up, alert. Green eyes widened, tail wagging once or twice as he spoke. Was he... Had he... His last sentence sealed it. He was accepting her, and not only her but her sons as well. He was accepting all of her. The strange parts, the fact she had children without a mate, and that she was hardly anything special to offer. The fact he questioned if she wished him out of all other Phims caused a look of disbelief. Who else could she ever want? Who else could compare to this man? This wonderful man who had returned love to her once cracked heart.
The red head let out a nervous giggle, her own tears rising and falling. She couldn't help it! It was like one of those love stories she had been so religiously obsessed with. Moving closer, nervously, she reached up to nuzzle under his chin, another short but sweet giggle escaping.
"Of course I want you over any other 'Phim. No one else is Ichiru. No one else makes me this happy. Us this happy." She shivered with a childish joy, too happy to contain it properly. She wasn't sure whether or not she was allowed to cuddle yet, but it was clear she wanted to, instead glancing at her sons and then her fri- mate! Her family was whole, and full of love.
It was everything she had ever dreamed of.

He knew she had caught his tears, and almost flushed a healthy shade of red, after all a man should never let a girl see him cry. However he had always thought that a stupid notion, if you wanted to show your emotions you should definitely have the right. He just mostly chose not to.
It almost seemed like an eternity had passed as they looked at each other, he watched as her ears perked up and her eyes widened and he knew her answer didn’t have any doubt to it, that he now that this female, this gorgeous funny female that had subconsciously captivated him from day one as a mate. He guessed Damian would now be officially right when the little rascal would call him dad. Made him wonder if damian as well had been pushing for this even back then, if he had noticed… no back then Shyanne still needed to get Valentine back and neither one of them was ready.
He noticed she was now crying, which instantly drew him out of his own thoughts, and he let them fall knowing that they were probably like his own. Happy wanted tears, however he could nuzzle back when she closed the distance between them.
It was good to see her so utterly happy. He had seen her happy before, seen it in the way that she interacted with Damian but it had always seemed like there was a shadow behind the happiness obviously front the whole fiasco with tweak and valentine not being allowed to grow up knowing her. He looked at her again before giving her a hesitant yet quick kiss. “well then I am most honored you consider you now mine. Welcome to my crazy family.”
He slowly moved to allow the cuddles that she wanted, having no problems with cuddling especially considering the new circumstances.

She squeaked as, suddenly, a quick kiss touched her mouth. Her tail flicked around her new mate with a gentle firmness that clearly read 'mine'. After all the bad experiences and sorrows she had finally found her soul-mate. Her partner for life. She was going to be by his side from now on. Wake up beside him, go to sleep beside him, and live her life with him. Together.
"A-Are you going to stay here, then?" She questioned gently. She had just gone off into a deep and hopeful thought of how he would be beside her, but that meant he'd need to move in with her. Or her with him. Would they be like that? Would he want to be like that? Did he mirror her own desire to live together and stay as one as much as possible?
Wait, mates. Mates meant... that maybe they'd have kids together? Her cheeks turned an instant red, squeaking to herself. Ah, w-wait! Why was she already making a fuss over such things? Oh gosh, what if Damian or Valentine mentioned it? Oh dear!
