TRAINING

[Arrieth]

Kitty decided to start with an explanation as she handed over the information he asked for, "Sir, I apologize, my sister here, she's a paranoid schizophrenic, and well, she thought she saw government agents in the road, grabbed the wheel and started going berserk." She sighed and looked over at Savannah, "It's a pity really, Daddy will be so upset that she's going to have to have a long talk with him now. She was freaking out calling me an alien or something. I don't know," She turned back to him and added in a low tone, "she's cuckoo." She started up again though, with a shrug of her shoulders, "I guess it's important that I get her home now then, and to think we were going to see cousin Flo, I guess not, since we won't make it there to pick up our medication. I hope we don't miss our dear cousin over the next few months or there might be a little problem, right sis?" Kitty turned abruptly to the woman in the passenger seat with an almost threatening look. She hoped that she understood the allusions that she was making. She turned back to the officer and realized she had forgotten to hand over her license, "Oops my bad." She reached into her chest between her breasts and pulled out the ID, "Here."

Gabby laughed almost wickedly, "How about Black Swan, Alvin? Don't you like Natalie Portman?"

Ricky just groaned the equivalent of an okay. He then turned over onto his side and pulled a pillow down to cover his face.

Savannah paled. She had completely forgotten about getting that oh so important pill. "Yeah sorry." She said sinking down into the chair.

Nick wasn't sure he believed the women. "Miss Xenophon." Nick didn't look impressed. "You were the one with your foot on the gas peddle? You were going at least twenty over the speed limit. And that alone is a danger. Excuse me." Nick walked back to his car, he wanted to check and see if she had any other previous arrests.

"Oh god Kitty." Savannah turned back to the women once the police officer made it to his car. "Is everyone at that school like you? I slept him, if I have a kid is it going to be green?"

Nick returned to their car. "You know I could write you a ticket for reckless driving?"

Alvin turned his head, trying his best to give a glare. Though it came out more of a begging look. "I hate that movie. It's so freaky."

"I think he is saying that cause it has naked girls. And well we know he only likes men." Bengali threw her legs over the edge of the chair and let them hang.

"No I just don't like it. It given me nightmares. The girl is ******** nuts." Alvin defended himself.

Symphony left their bedroom to deal with some of her own problems. She did her best to keep her husband from dealing with too much, he was always stressed out and she hated to add to it.
Walking outside, Symphony unlocked her car door and climbed in the driver side. Starting the car she headed for the local pharmacy. Better take the test now the wait.

 

[Arrieth]

"No. What the ******** are you a normal human or something?" Kitty growled at her while the officer was gone, "********, it is not helpful that you're here." She sighed, "I'm gonna be cool. You just keep your ******** mouth shut." SHe turned back to the officer as he approached and gave him a rather sheepish smile, "I'm sorry, I know there's really no excuse for driving so fast, but I was just so worried about my poor sister." She reached over and pat Savannah's shoulder in a comforting manner, "But you're right, I've been pretty bad. You gonna spank me?" Yeah she said it, and rather quickly, maybe he didn't catch that. Whatever. She might just have meant it. He was quite a looker for a cop. That was rare.

"Then pick a movie, you p***y." Gabby was reaching for another slice of pizza.

Ricky was free from the outside world for all of about four minutes before his phone rang. He groaned until he could roll off of his pocket to pull it out and answer to begin returning to his life of work.

"I am a normal human." Savannah hissed under her breath.

"I saw on your records you have been pulled over a number of times for speeding. Yet some how you never have gotten a ticket." Nick was sure the woman had used her good looks to get out of them. "Care to explain all those times?" He asked leaning down a bit so he could focus on her face an not her barely covered cleavage. Yeah he could see how she had gotten out of some many tickets.

Alvin finally sat back up with another movie. "Fine, we are watching Your Highness. Get over it." Alvin popped in the DVD and walked over to the couch ignoring just who he was sharing it with. Sitting down he grabbed another slice of Pizza.

Symphony drove past a car that had been pulled over by a police officer. She looked for a few moments before paying attention to where she was going. When she got to the store she bout just what she needed and headed for the bathroom.

 

[Arrieth]

Kitty smiled lightly and shrugged, "I don't know. I always just thought your friends on he force were being nice. I never go that fast. I prefer to enjoy the ride." She reached up and touched his cheek gently, "Don't you?" She quickly retracted her hand as if she just realized she was being inappropriate, "I'm sorry, I just-" she allowed a small blush over her cheeks, "-I'm." She pulled both hands into her lap and pulled the innocent, sheepish look again, "I apologize."

Gabby watching Alvin as he put the DVD in and looked skeptical, "If this movie blows, I'm gonna ******** you up, you goddamned fairy."

Ricky decided to go make sure his daughter wasn't attempting a break out as soon as his phone conversation was over. He rolled out of bed and brushed himself off , making his way to his daughter's room. He got there and knocked on the door gently, "You in there, kid?"

Nick stood up quickly. This women was good, really good. "Alright miss. I will make a deal with you. I will let you off. But I am putting it down on your records, that if you get pulled over again you are to given a ticket."

Alvin glanced over at him, as he was biting down on another slice of pizza. "Anyone with a sense of humor would like this movie."

Bengali laughed. "And anyone who likes big dicks."

"What in the world could you want now?" Asked Cadence as she laid on her bed snuggled with in her pillows for comfort.

 

[Arrieth]

Kitty could deal with that. She would just cross that sorry sucker, bridge, when she got to it. "Thank you officer." She smiled up at him and waved as cutely as she could, "I promise it won't happen again." She took back the license and registration that he handed to her and tucked them both abck in their appropriate - and inappropriate- places. When he left, she rolled up the window and immediately turned to Savannah, "The ******** did you say? You're a normal human? Like not a super human? How the ******** did you get hired? Jesus, we have to go see Kasey."

Gabby shrugged, "I'll be the judge of that."

Ricky entered the room with a sigh, "I know it's not easy being a teenage girl- Nick struggled with it all the time." He sat on the edge of her bed, arms folded his arms, "I don't know why you're in such a rush to grow up."

Before he walked away Nick added. "I'll follow you back home to make sure you get there safely." Then headed back for his car and waited for the two girls to drive off. He would keep a close eye on them to make sure they didn't continue with a destructive drive.

"No!" Savannah almost shouted. "I don't want to see that man about anything! So what the school is for aliens? Yeah how did I get hired. I am a normal human, like the kind you'd find just about any where in the world." Savannah was slowly calming her panic. Ok so aliens were real. She could deal with that. Some where in the back of her brain she has always known they existed.

Alvin shrugged and wiggled down into a comfortable position on the couch. "Suit yourself."
~ ~ ~ ~

"I am not in a hurry to grow up!" Cadence shot back quickly. "I would just like to have some freedom. All you an mom do is work. I go to school and get good grades. Yet I am not aloud to go out and have fun." She pulled a pillow in and hugged it wile glaring at her father. "It isn't fair."
~ ~ ~ ~

Symphony was on her way home again. Or she would be after making a quick stop. She had to visit someone first to take care of some business.

 

[Arrieth]

humans allowed there." She glared over at Savannah before the idea struck her and she sat up abruptly, "Jesse!" She started up the car, "Jesse! Oh thank you! Jesse has a permanent residence! I love him." She started the car in the same direction, and luckily, Jesse's house wasn't too far off. On the way there, she turned her radio dial and hit the center button on her advanced-looking radio system twice when a screen popped out from where the CDs would normally go. When the blank screen appeared she announced "Call Jesse, cell." And the radio responded by calling.

Jesse was surprsied when his phone rang with Kitty's ringtone. She set it herself. Ke$ha's Aliens Invading. Cute. He answered despite how busy he was about to be, "What's up?"

"Big problem. I need to talk in person. Coming over now. That cool? Good. Be there in a minute. Bye." She ended the call with a button on the screen and sighed, running a hand through her hair. "You don't say anything, human. And oh by the way, ******** you human, I'm not an Alien. I'm a legal resident of the United States! Thank you very much! And no, Morrington is a school for the gifted, all of the gifted. Dude, how did you ******** Kasey and not know he was a vampire?" She shook her head. By then she was pulling into Jesse's driveway. She had stopped the car in the driveway and stepped out. As she did she smiled her cute smile and waved to the officer behind them. She then rushed over to Savannah's side of the car and dragged her out and up toward the door.

Jesse had been staring at his cell phone in a confused manner after Kitty hung up by the time he heard them at the door. He swore under his breath and answered the door only to have Kitty push past him with Savannah behind her, "Is that a cop?"

"Close the door." Kitty instructed him to, but closed the door herself, she then pointed an accusing finger at Savannah, "She's a human."

Jesse cocked a brow, "Yeah. So am I."

"A normal human."


His brow fell over his eyes and he turned to look at the "normal human" with a concerned stare, "She's what?"

"You heard me. She freaked in the car and tried to kill us both. After she ******** Kasey." Kitty went to looking out the window to see if the cop was gone.

Jesse let out a smirk with that one, "No way." He shook it off though, "But seriously, how did she get the job if she's normal? Was it by ******** him?"

"Doubt it. She didn't know." She folded her arms and sighed, "What do we do?"

"Why did you come here?"

"You're close. And that cop was following me, since he probably thought I was shitfaced since Normie over here jerked the wheel from me while I was driving."

"So, wait, how did you get hired?" The clockstopper turned to Savannah for her answer, folding his own arms.

"I will." Gabby said matter-of-factly.

Ricky sighed and reached over to pull his daughter over to him, "Come here you." He pulled her into a hug and gave her a kiss on the temple, "You have plenty of time to grow up, kid, just enjoy hanging out with your friends here, or at school. I know you're trustworthy, I do. It's the rest of the world that I can't control. It's the rest of the world that scares me, so I can't just throw you into it by yourself."

Savannah paled. "Sweet Jesus he is a vampire!?" She found the nearest seat and fell into it. "I had no clue. And for the sake of defending myself. I don't ******** my way to the top sorry. That is something my slut sister would do, but not me." She sighed and hide her face in her hands. Her world had just been turned upside down. "I don't know." She groaned in an attempt to answer the last question. "I applied like any other job, they asked to meet me. I went, they hired me." Savannah looked up at the two non-humans with a lost puppy look. "I just wanted away from all the problems I was having back home to I took this job so I would have an excuse to move with out anyone asking too many questions."

Cadence didn't like that answer. "I can defend myself. I don't need someone there to hold my hand." She sighed and let her dad hug her, knowing it was for his own comfort rather then her own. "And you let mom run around in the world. I would be more worried about her, and just what she is doing when she leaves home and doesn't say where she is going."
~ ~ ~ ~

Symphony pulled up to a modern looking home. One with a nice big green lawn and a large tree out in the front yard. She parked on the side of the house and made her way to the front door. "Knock knock." She called as she tapped her hand on the door.
A few seconds later the door swung open. Symphony stepped into the living room, greeted by cool AC air. "Herm?" she called walking farther into the dimly lite room.

"Yeah, yeah." A male came down the stairs, seeming to float down. "What could you possibly want?" He asked moving past Symphony to relax on a recliner.

"I need you to give my mom a message for me." Symphony said following the man back into his living room.

"You know they have invented phones for this kind of stuff now?" He asked sticking a finger in his ear and wiggling it back and forth to clean it out.

"Mother is vacationing in Olympus. Reception isn't too good up there." She said trying not to lose patience with the man.

Herm sighed heavily. "Alright, lay it on me. I'll get it to her tonight." He finally pulled his finger from his ear to inspect the mess at the end of it.

 

[Arrieth]

"Well, this is gonna be bad. Do you think Kasey will kill her?" Jesse was pretty bad at speaking in a low tone.

"Jess, shut up, they're not going to kill her." Kitty rubbed a temple and rolled her eyes, "No, I don't know what he'll do. I mean he could always just release her into the wild. Everyone would think she was crazy if she tried to squeal, right?"

Jesse shrugged, "I guess so. But you never know." He sighed, "Should I get us to Kasey the fast way?"

"You'd better." Kitty sighed, "He's gonna want to hear about this as soon as possible."

Without another word, or a chance for Savannah to protest, Jesse got them there "the fast way." As he could manipulate time around anyone, he brought them back to the school in what seemed like a split second to them, and they were just outside of Kasey's apartment door behind Jesse knocking almost instantly.

"Still a bit freaky." Kitty commented with a nod, "yep. Just a bit."

It was then that the Englishwoman from before opened the door, "Hey she's back! With a hottie. And some guy." She announced to the room.

"Cute, D.T." Kasey moved her out of the way to see who was at the door, "What's wrong? You look troubled."

"You're not going to be happy." Jess decided to start with a warning, "And Kitty take it from here!"

Kitty rolled her eyes. Why were all men such pussies? "She's a human." She nodded toward Savannah, "A normal human."

"Oh snap!" D.T. was first to comment, as Kasey seemed to be processing the problem with an unhappy stare at the human.

"D, Shut the ******** up." Micah came over to drag her away, as it clearly had nothing to do with them, "Come on leave them alone."

D.T. allowed herself to be dragged away with a playful blush, "Mikey! Mikey! Not in front of the children!"

Kasey instructed them all to enter and sighed, snagging Savannah on her way in, "How, then, did this happen?"

Rick scoffed, "I can trust your mother. Plus she's an adult where as you," -he poked her on the tip of the nose- "You are just a child."

---

"I'll take it, Daddy." A young woman entered the room, her bright, thick blonde hair tied up in a seemingly impossible way and wearing a satin blue, draped dress, "I'm on my way anyhow, it's no problem. What should I tell her?"

Savannah made a little surprised sound when she was snagged. That trick with moving them around quickly had left her a little disoriented. "knock it off will you?!" She tried to get herself free from his hold. "It's not my fault! I already told them. I applied, went to a meeting and got hired. It seems like it's your workers' fault." She said clearly trying to defend yourself. "Sorry, before Kitty turned green, I didn't even know a school like this existed." She was quickly becoming less afraid and more angry, mostly at the amazingly good looking vampire.
Slowly she leaned in trying to get in his face and seem pissed. "Besides, 'you knew what you were getting yourself into'" Of course she was referring to what he had said just before they got to it. "You knew I was human, not my fault you didn't ask if I was normal."

"Exactly she is an adult, with adult needs." She said turning her head away from her father's finger. "Witch I am going to assume you haven't been tending to, since the nights have been so silent."
~ ~ ~ ~

Symphony smiled. "Thank you." Reaching into her purse she pulled out a cream colored envelope sealed with wax and a double flute crest. "Please just give her this. It's just some information for her, she plans to come visit in a few days. She should give you a note to give me back. If that isn't too much trouble."

The man still lounging on the chair stretched himself back over the arms of the chair and yawned. "Awesome I can go back to sleep. Thanks kid."

 

[Arrieth]

"Oh you are human, aren't you?" Kasey took a step forward. Bravery in others? Against him? Not on his watch. He got close enough to look down at her, "You have to be with your lifestyle. One, that you assume everyone is just the same as you, and two, that you don't like what you don't understand. No. It's rather frightening isn't it?" He stayed where he was, as close as he was and pushed a lock of her hair behind an ear, "Can't feel nice, can it? Suddenly you're the minority. Suddenly you're at the mercy of Gods. Humans are a brave race- sometimes. But often they're lead by no more than blind stupidity."

"Uhm, hello. Hi. Remember me?" Jesse started up, waving and plastering a fake smile onto his face, "Yeah human. Freaky super-powered spandex-less human, sure. But still human. I'm sure she has the same capacity for compassion as the others. It's not as if she would be the only human to know about us."

"Humans are rather fascinating. I often find that just as soon as you put them in a box they find their way out of it. Figuratively speaking of course, many of them could get lost in their own houses if they're big enough." Kitty shrugged, "Besides the point. They're still primitive. If you teach them, they will understand, and if her credentials were good enough to get her hired here, she obviously is capable of a little flexibility."

"Yeah, and you ******** her! She's probably super flexible!" D.T. had a habit of throwing in her two cents at the most inappropriate times. Then again most of what she said was inappropriate, so it was, in fact, called for- in her eyes.

"Jesus D.T., could you pretend to be a lady like, for one moment, please."

Jesse suppressed an inevitable snicker and tried to away it by clearing his throat, "Right, well. Why don't you just give her a chance to prove herself? She has a lot to learn, but I took it rather well."

"You're also not, by any means, 'normal', Laszlo." Kasey sighed and turned back to Savannah, "Well then, it seems you have the floor."

"You're a little young to be commenting on your parents' sex life so calmly. This must be some sort of trick." Ricky stood and shrugged, "Later kid. Try this s**t on mom later or something, I'm not interested." And with that, he began walking away."

---

The young woman smiled and nodded then exited through the front door without another word.

"So that's your problem Kasey. You have a god complex." Savannah said hotly, still glaring daggers. "You may not be human but you're not a god, so you can knock of the high and mighty act and try growing up." She paused to calm down. "To be a teacher of any kind you have to except every kind of person. If you have that big of a problem with humans then you don't need to be running a school, with humans that attend. They have powers but they are still humans." She turned her back to him to address the others. "But really, it's a little shocking, but I think I can handle it." She sighed and gave Kitty her best apologetic look. "I'm sorry I called you an alien. You clearly don't like it."

Cadence looked after her dad. "Where is mom any ways!?" She called trying to keep his attention on her. "Daaaaad?" Finally she got up off her bed and followed after him. "I heard her leave and she isn't back yet, and I thought she had today off."
~ ~ ~ ~

Symphony sighed and glanced down at the man still stretched over the chair. "My you've gotten lazy in our old age."

He snorted. "Like you would know. You were born into this era, you never got to see me running around all the time." Finally he sat up to look at her. "Well don't you gotta run along back home?" He grinned. "Or would you like to keep me company?"

"Oh Herm." She sighed again and shook her head.

"I could have you saying that." He still had his devilish grin and began to get off his chair to come to her.

"Bye Herm." She said walking for the door and not looking back.

The man was suddenly infront of the door blocking Symphony from leaving. "Just as a warning. What you're doing is against the rules. And when Zeus finds out, he'll do something about it. I would hate to see you or your family end up hurt." He had a worried look about him, all joking aside.

"I'll cross that bridge when I get to it." Symphony said moving around him to get out and to the car.

"Well you'd best tell him! So he'll at least know what he is up against!" Herm called from his door way.

 

[Arrieth]

"It ever occur to you that it's humans that looks like the others?" Kasey cocked a brow. A human backsasser. Now she was just a brat. "Kitty's species, for example is much older than yours or even mine. Although I prefer not to receive a lecture from a member of the least tolerant species on the planet." He scoffed, "But fine. If you think you can handle a class, I'll let you keep the job. Let's see how you handle a class of little monsters."

Kitty sighed, "Kasey, play nice with the human." She turned to Savannah, "Understandable, no worries. But don't pull that again. In return I won't call you 'earthling' as it's cliched and frankly I don't do that. By the way, you need a liaison into this world? Use Jesse. He's a human, technically."

"Yes, I'm a human in a manner of speaking. Mostly I'm a beast, unfortunately for you I'm taken, but that's okay I hear you only like bloodsuckers. Inappropriate? Sure. But we're an informal bunch, this staff. We like to have fun. So, why don't you guys have fun, have a laugh and a half, and I'm going to get back home, because I was in the middle of something." He finished the entire monologue rather quickly.

"Or someone." Kitty muttered under her breath before she smiled and waved him off, "Have fun!"

Ricky shrugged, "Don't know. Don't care. She's an adult she can do with her time what she pleases. I'm her husband, not her father. Goodnight."
