"Dante........my name is Dante." Dante said as he looked out at the lake. The geese flew over. It reminded him of the past.
Things were quiet as they looked at the lake. He began to wonder why the girl came over to talk to him. He has came here in the past but no one ever talked to him. Maybe it was the fact that any other time it's just couples that are in love that flock to the lake. Or maybe it was the fact that people thought he was a low life that partied all the time.
Dante looked at Victoria who was still looking at the lake. He could sense pain but did not mention it. "So...what's your name?"

She sat quiet for a minute, enjoying the peacefulness of the morning, and the slight drizzle that had started a few minutes ago. She smiled at him when he asked her name and politely replied, "It's Victoria. Nice to meet you, Dante." She knew she didn't have anything to do, and she looked down at her feet, which suddenly looked dirty even though she had just taken a shower the night before. She closed her eyes and wanted to lean against Dante, but remembered he was a stranger. Why had she even come to talk to him? She guessed it was because he had looked lonely. Just like her. Always. She couldn't hold the tears back this time, and they slid off her chin and plopped into the grass.

~~Everybody knows you're lost~~ Luke silently lip synced to his music. He made sure nobody say him. He head bobbed a little and drummed his fingers against his pant leg. Luke wish he could sing, he would if he could, but sadly Luke was no singer. He threw the rose far away from himself.

Dante began to think he had done something when he noticed the tears coming from her eyes.
Dante handed Victoria the napkin, that was once wrapped around the bagel that he had, as he continued to stare at the water. He didn't know what else to do. He doesn't even know her so how is he supposed to react? "Are you ok?" Dante paused afterwards. He knew she wasn't. No one cries without having a reason. Trying to find the right words, "You know.....you're....you're not the only one that feels sorrow right now." Dante knew what he said was not what he intended, but it was all that would come out.

"Thanks, come back again." Aria shouted to the customer.
She was about to go help another person when Trisha sent over someone else and pulled her aside.
"What's up?" Trisha asked. "Whatever do you mean?" Aria asked a little too nonchalantly. "I mean what's going on? I feel like I should just post you up in a corner somewhere. Usually you have fun here and let the swinging beats I put on take you away, but you seem really...not yourself today."
Aria looked at the floor. She was chewing her bottom lip when she just decided to get it over with. She knew Trisha wouldn't leave her alone so she spilled her guts about everything that had happened the night before.
"Well no wonder you look like hell." Trisha replied when Aria had finished the story. "Yeah.." Aria agreed.

Victoria sniffed and then noticed he held out a napkin to her. "Thank you." She took it from him slowly, smiling at him through her tears, and wiped them quickly. "Nothing." She said when he asked if she was alright, but knew it was a lie. Anyone smart enough to know would know that she wasn't. She got off of the table and faced him as he admitted that he didn't feel happy either. "What's the matter with you, then?" She asked him out loud, not meaning it to come from her lips. She blushed. "I'm sorry, that was very rude." She said softly, turning away from him and back to the lake, still standing.

Dante gave a small smile back. He knew she was lying through her teeth when she said that nothing was wrong. Dante was shocked that someone asked him what was wrong. He was rarely asked that question, but he didn't care since he never answered it anyways. But he began to think...maybe it would help to share it. It might help with the pain.
"It's fine. I know you didn't mean to make it sound rude." Dante said as he shifted his weight to the side. He felt his phone vibrate. It was his mom. "Sorry I have to make a phone call. I'll be right back."
Dante walked to the edge of the lake. He dialed the number already knowing what she wanted. "You called mom?"....."Yeah. I'm okay."......."I'll be home after I stop by the cemetery."
Dante walked back to the shelter house and sat on the table again. "My friend Alex died 3 years ago on this day.......He was like my brother." Dante said as he stared at the table. It had the carvings he and Alex did over the years in it still. He took out his knife and carved the words "Gone but never forgotten" in the wood by his leg.

She watched him carve it, speechless from his sad words. "I would say I'm sorry, but I'm sure you've heard that too much and you're tired of it." Victoria said. She couldn't help but pity him. She wanted to put an arm around him, comfort him, but didn't do so, for fear he would be upset.

Dante looked at his knife after he carved the words. His blade looked as though it needed to be sharpened. It's been awhile anyways since I sharpened it, so I'm not worried.... he thought before putting it away.
"I appreciate that. No one ever mentions it so it's not often that I hear what you just said." He stood up on the seat of the table and did a little jump to the ground. "I gotta get going. I have some errands to do, but if you're going in that direction you're more than welcome to walk with me."
It's the least that Dante could do. After all, she did walk over to him and try to comfort him. He didn't know much about her and was getting tired of only hanging with a few people. Maybe this was the time to find a new friend....

Trisha held out her hand as a customer hand her a five dollar bill.
"Thank you and come again." she flashed a brilliant smile. "Why do you do that?" Aria asked. "Do what?" Trisha asked nonchalantly. "Flirt with customers." "Oh, I'm not flirting...Okay maybe a little. But hey, it keeps me in business and you in a working position. Without my..charisma, we'd both be out on our asses begging for money, and that is one way I DO NOT want to end up."
Trisha and Aria both laughed at the idea of them bumming around and begging for change.
"Although, I'm pretty sure you could get another job. But you'd miss me too much." Trisha smiled.
Aria just nodded as they both walked out of the small record store. They were heading to the nearest Subway to snag some lunch. When they finally got their food, they sat at a round table and scarfed down the footlong subs.

Victoria jumped up after he offered. "I would love to!" She exclaimed flashing a bright smile. And then she blushed, thinking she had blown it by being too....weird.

Dante saw her blush. "She probably thinks that she make things weird..." he laughed to himself from this thought. "Wow went from sad to off the wall happiness. That's something." he smiled as he said this. "But don't get discouraged.....I don't mind. Joy makes the world go 'round so they say." He motioned to her to follow and they headed towards the cemetery. He didn't say that they were going there because he figured he would tell her before they got there. He didn't want to bring her with him to go mourn a lost friend. They walked past the record store that his friend Aria worked at. "Hey let's stop in here really quick. I wanna say hi to my friend and pick up the new Green Day cd." He pushed through the door and the bells on the handle jangled like sleigh bells. "Heeeey........what's going on Aria? Did you get the new Green Day cd in yet?" Dante said as he walked towards the counter.

(Have to go, short post)
Victoria smiled and followed him, and nodded when they came into the store. She quietly and shyly stayed behind Dante, not knowing Aria.

Trisha waved at Dante as he walked in. Aria was still eating; she had ordered a sub to go.
"Sorry, she's a fatass. But I give her an hour for lunch soo...Oh greenday cd's are in the back, freshly put up thanks to my fave employee." Trisha glanced back at Aria who smiled with her mouth full in response.
When she was finally finished chewing, she looked from Dante to the girl. "Ya want some? I got another one."

"Trisha you never fail at making me laugh." Dante said heading towards the back of the store. He grabbed the cd off the shelf and walked to the counter. "So do I get some type of discount since I'm a regular and a friend?" He said with laughter in his voice as she rang him up.
"Victoria, this is my good friend Aria......Aria this is Victoria." he motioned to her to come up to the front. "We just met in the park. We both know how I get every year on this day, but luckily Victoria was there to save the day." He said jokingly but you could he the sorrow in his voice from mentioning the date.
