"I did, don't worry," Jericho said as he got up so he could remove the ice. It was a good thing he remembered to close the door... he didn't need another lost cthulu adventure right now, especially with the way the previous one had gone. Tossing the ice bag into the bucket he had brought, he glanced over at her legs, glad to see that the swelling had gone down. Hopefully she would be able to walk normally before too long.

Riley stretched the stiffness out of her arms, reaching up and around, before swinging her bruised legs over the bedside and testing their strength. Her neck rolled, and she did an internal check of each individual muscle.
Well, I won't be running for a few days, thanks for that. You'll have to take me out once in a while, or I'll go stir crazy. She snorted a single breath of laughter. Other than that, I should be fine. Almost disappointing, really. You're a dragon, you should have snapped my head off. Her eyes echoed a smile within them. I should be lying dead on your floor right now. Obviously that would solve everything, wouldn't it? I mean, if I'm dead, I can't mind wipe.

Jericho watched as Riley moved and stretched, testing herself out. He chuckled and nodded, making sure to bring her out now and then as requested, but the smile faded as she continued to speak. A part of him wondered if he had really made the right choice, but he can't take things back now.
"Yes you couldn't mind wipe, but I'd lose you completely as well.." he said, his voice sounding a little hollow at the thought, "I was fighting to keep me from losing anything."

There was that same feeling, the kind that had made her decide to get a mind wipe in the first place. Emotion. Ugh. She reached out and pulled him down to sit beside her, leaning her head against his shoulder when he did so. You're so selfish, Jericho. She whispered affectionately. Just like me.
Maybe it wasn't so terrible. Maybe she could forgive Malodore, just this once, for thinking her self-centered. They were just words, and in the long run what mattered was..
She couldn't quite decide what it was that mattered most, at the moment. She settled on resting against Jericho and trying to clear her mind.
Ah. She lifted her head, and snatched up the jellied brains. Since I'm up..

Sitting down again as Riley pulled him down, Jericho smiled and lightly rested his head against hers. Hopefully that didn't put too much pressure there or something. Most likely she had a pretty bad headache right about now.
"I told you before... a dragon doesn't give up his treasure so easily..." he said, "I'd fight till I can't fight any longer if it means keeping you at my side."
Glancing as she took the brains, he raised an eyebrow and grinned.
"Hope you like them."

They're brains. She set them down at her side, out of his sight, and her tentacles slid happily into them. All he could see was the bulge and squeeze of her tentacles at work. Of course I will like them. She wrapped her arm around his waist and gave him a side squeeze. Yes, yes. I know. She dismissively murmured, if only because it was easier than being truthful about how honored she was to be worth fighting for.
They're very good. I haven't eaten in quite some time, but still, it's a very clever recipe. You'll have to show it to me sometime.

It was always interesting seeing Riley eat with those tentacles of hers. Even if he couldn't see them actually working away at the brains, he could kinda see something going on there.
"Of course. I'll be sure to send it to you next time I'm at my room," he said with a grin. As she placed an arm around his waist, he brought a hand up around to lightly but affectionately pet-pat her on the head. With the way she sounded so dismissive about what he had said, he had to wonder if she truly knew the extent of his words. Then again, he did just kind of show a piece of that not long ago.
Jericho didn't doubt that more opportunities would arise in the future as well.

There was a strange, choking sound, and Riley's eyes went wide. She lurched just slightly forward an inch, before reaching up and gently taking Jericho's hand off of the tentacle he'd accidentally just petted, and put it on her shoulder instead.
The choking sound in her tentacles continued, even as she spoke. I thought you didn't want to kill me. She chided, keeping her blush minimal as she patted his hand. I think in your affection you've forgotten which tentacle to keep clear of, and now I'm choking. Thanks so much. She tried not to laugh, but she was failing. She shook with the force of it, and put the jellied brains back on the table so she didn't spill it.
Well. Uh. Maybe I should.. Awwwwwkward. Get some rest, or something. As long as I don't have a concussion. I wish I knew how to tell.. dying in my sleep sounds terribly anti-climatic after the day we've had.

Jericho's eyes widened as he heard the strange choking noise. Oh whoops. He had accidentally brushed up against the the sensitive one apparently. Chuckling a bit nervously, he just gripped her shoulder.
"Sorry," he laughed once it seemed that she was alright. The amused look was replaced with concern once more. He didn't know what the signs of a concussion were either, but it probably was a good idea for her to get some rest.
"Alright. I'll be here if you need me," the dragon said, "Just don't die on me ok? I don't think I'd be able to forgive either of us if that happened."

Riley turned her head up to look at him, mildly confused. Here? She murmured. As in, you're staying?

"Of course," Jericho blinked, "Wanna make sure you recover nicely and all. I did kinda put you in this situation."

Riley eyed him for a moment, before her cheeks lifted and she rested her forehead against his. Well. I guess you did. Just make yourself at home.. I hate to think you'd be uncomfortable here. She pulled away and slid down onto her pillow, nestling into it. Her head lifted for just a moment, and she pointed a finger at him.
But if I wake up and find you playing with my tentacles while I'm asleep, we're going to have a serious talk.
Before he could answer, her face had already betrayed her amusement, and she buried it into the pillow to hide it.

Jericho released her shoulder as she went to lay back down, "Don't worry. I'll be fine here."
His golden eyes soon took on a slight mischievous glint again as he laughed with amusement.
"Oh? So everything else is fair game then?" he jested. She might have tried to hide her amusement, but it was hard for that to slip past him.

Riley snapped her head to one side, and her eyes slit thin. She reached back for the unused pillow behind her, and flung it directly at him. It didn't quite seem like enough, however, so she picked up the pillow underneath her, and shook it dangerously. I was being easy on you earlier. But I will show you no mercy with this pillow right now. No mercy. You will taste my wrath like no other, Jericho Bloodbane.

The dragon let out another laugh at her reaction, grinning as she shook her pillow at him.
"I might not mind getting a taste of that," he said while giving her a thoughtful look, "But just the pillow? I know you can do better than that Riley."
