Silia decided that it was probably best not to fight with Hara. After all, she had to admit she would appreciate the help, and would certainly love the company. "Alright, Hara. If this is what you want, I appreciate it. And you're welcome to stay here, at least for now. I'll see you when you come back."

She watched as Hara launched herself out and took off for her home. Then she remembered how sad and disappointed Dawna had seemed when she had refused her offer to help. Getting up and moving a few stones, she hurred on them to keep the eggs warm, at least for a few minutes. Then she headed over to Dawna and lowered herself to the girl's level. "Would you like to come see my eggs?" she asked quietly.

It wasn't too long before Hara had flown to the edge of the island and was sweeping up the coast toward her cave. She knew that Silia felt bad about the situation, but Hara was happy. It had been a while since she had had a purpose in her life, now she had something to do, a reason to get up in the morning.

Glancing down, she noticed some unusual green on one of the cliffs. Getting closer, she realized that it was a dragon, crashed on the cliff. Concerned, she circled a couple times before landing a short distance from him. "Hey, are you alright?" No response. "Mister, are you hurt?" She could see he was breathing, so he wasn't dead. There were no real obvious injuries, but it wasn't normal for a dragon to just be sprawled out in the open like this.

Dawna sat quietly, listening to the end of Silia and Hara's conversation, then she heard the leathery flapping as Hara took off for her own cave. A short time later, she heard Silia moving around, the sound of rock on rock, and another sound that she couldn't quite place.

Then Silia was right in front of her. Dawna was stunned by the offer for a moment. "Really? Are you sure? I mean, didn't you say that it was too dangerous for humans to get close to dragon eggs?"

Thanatos watched the dragon fly off with a smile as he went to the cockpit. He would have to cancel it so there was no worry that anything bad happened to him on the way. He called someone on the mainland as he turned the plane around " Yes this is Thanatos, I am calling to report that I will not be making a delivery so please take off the notice of my return to the mainland." he said and listened for a moment. The man on the end spoke " So you are canceling the delivery of one dragon correct?" he asked. Thanatos nodded " Yes I am, the dragon, is well, someplace else." he said. The man sighed ' We will have to notify the company who hired you, you are aware of that right?" he asked. Thanatos shrugged ' I don't care tell them, I'm freelance anyway." he said and hung up. He continued back and landed in the airport calm about his little failure and not really caring. He decided to take his other jet for a spin and flew it to the cliffs.

Hara smiled a bit at Dawna. "Well, if I was to have a fire stoked under them like last night, or whenever I have to leave them, then yes, you would most likely get badly burned. But right now, I've just got some rocks heated under them. It's enough for short term, if I'm staying in the cave, or just going out for a short time. Come on, I'll help you over to them."

She nudged her head gently against Dawna's arm on her injured side. There was no way the girl could walk on her own with her leg as badly broken as it was. "Hmm, when Hara get's back, we're going to have to make some crutches for you, I think. That way you'll be able to get around on your own till your leg heals."

The adrenaline from his escape had burned through a good portion of the sedative. The power nap on the cliff quickly removed most of the rest. Achiu was just starting to come out of it when he heard the flapping of large wings above him, then the sound of a landing and a female voice asking if he was alright.

It took a bit of effort, but he forced his eyes open and dragged his head up from the ground, shifting into a more comfortable position. "Yes, I'm alright. I just escaped from the humans. They drugged me with something that made me so tired. I think it's mostly gone now. hank you for your concern."

Dawna felt Silia's scaly head genly bump her arm and took the hint. Wrapping her arm firmly around Silia's neck, she hauled herself up slowly and carefully. It hurt a bit, and she was definatley bruised and stiff, but she would work through it. "I think I get it. More intense, longer lasting heat would be required for longer absences than for shorter. Makes sence."

She made sure that she had a good, solid hold on Silia so that she should hopefully be able to walk without putting much if any pressure on her injured leg. "If I hurt you, just let me know. Crutches probably would be a good idea. I'll just have to be careful not to get too close to the edge of the cave or I might accidently fall out and you'll have to save my sorry tail again." She smiled, but the fear was there behind it just a little. "Ok, lead on."

Hara was relieved when the male raised his head and spoke to her. But when he told her what was going on, her eyes went wide with shock. "Oh wow! You really just escaped? That's amazing. You are so lucky."

She looked around to check for any signs of humans. She thought she saw something not natural in the sky. "Listen, i don't think it's so safe out here. I was just heading to close up my cave for a while, then I'm moving by my friend up in the mountain. If you need a place to stay for a while, you can crash at my place." She smiled at him a bit. "I'm Hara, by the way."

Silia helped carefully pull Dawna up so that she was standing steadily. She chuckled at the comment about hurting her. "Don't worry about me, Dear. Dragons are sturdy animals. You would almost have to be trying to hurt us."

She slowly headed over to her nest, stopping just a foot or so away. "Alright. They're right in front of you. Just be careful. The rocks around them are very hot. I don't want you burning yourself."

Silia gave Dawna a little nudge. "Go ahead. Go see them."

Achiu smiled a little at the enthusiasm of the blue female. He hadn't had hardly any contact with his kind for the longest time. He thought he might like this girl.

Pushing himself up from the ground, he shook his head. "Thank you, but with any luck, I won't have to take you up on your offer." Then he registered another part of her last comment. "Wait, you said you're moving to the mountain? I wonder if you could help me. I used to live there with my mate, but I have no idea if she's still there. A beautiful purple and green. Her name's Silia."

Dawna nodded. "Yeah, I can feel the warmth from here. Don't worry, I'll be careful." Using her uninjured leg to hold herself up and her grip on Silia to keep her balance, she leaned forward, holding her hand out. Not far infront of her, she felt something smooth, hard and very warm. Her touch was light as a feather at first, but when she felt the solidness of the shell, she used a firmer touch. "Oh wow. Just amazing! I don't think I have ever felt anything quite like this before."

But about that time, her leg started to shake a bit and she could feel it wouldn't be long before she would loose her balance. Not wanting to take the chance of falling and hurting herself, or worse, damaging the eggs, she felt in front of her to see where the hot stones were, then lowered herself to the floor.

Reaching back out, she found the egg again, gently stroking it. "It's so amazing. I've seen other animal's eggs before, but this..." She thought for a moment. "Didn't I hear you using the plural with them? How many are there?"

Just then, she felt a thumping under her hand and could hear a quiet clicking. She jumped a little and giggled. "I can feel the baby moving!"

Hara nodded when he refused her offer, and started heading into the woods to sneak down to her cave. "Well, that's up to you, I suppose. And I wish you good luck in what ever you're doing."

When he continued on, she stopped dead in her tracks. "A purple and green named Silia? My lord, you're Achi, aren't you? Lia's the friend I'm going to move by! Come with me to my cave for just a little while, and I'll take you right to her!" Excited, she dashed off to her cave. "Oh, will she be happy to see you. I can tell you for a fact that she misses you terribly."

Thanatos was pretty much at the cliff when Hara took off disrupting his plane. He got control of it again and saw the dragon fly off. He was tempted to follow. He got a little lower when he saw the dragon from earlier the one he let go. He got a little curious now ash e wanted to know where it was taken from so he followed it though he kept a good distance knowing it would probably blow him right out of the sky.

Silia settled down next to Dawna and the eggs, a deep rumbling sound similar to a purr emanating from her chest. She smiled gently, the end of her tail swishing a bit. She looked very much like a contented house cat. "There are two. The other is to the right."

When Dawna jumped, Silia was momentarily startled, but then chuckled herself. "Yes, I'm not surprised. They should be hatching fairly soon. Chicks usually get more active when they are close to hatching."

Silia thought for a moment. "You've mentioned a couple of times that you want to learn. Ask, and I'll do my best to answer."

Achiu 's brow ridges (equivalent-eyebrows) rose in surprise when Hara told him that her friend was his Silia. "Wow, I guess this really is a small island after all, isn't it?" He chuckled a bit as he followed her, feeling almost giddy. He couldn't believe how things were working out so quickly.

But they hadn't gone very far when he noticed that the plane he had just escaped from coming rather close. "Um, Hara? I think we'd best take some evasive action here. The man I just escaped from is right on our tails. Any suggestions?"
PostPosted: Thu Mar 24, 2011 11:01 am

Dawna carefully moved her right hand to the side until she found the second egg. At least to her senses, it was nearly identical to the first one, but it was still fascinating to be touching them both, every once in a while, feeling the small living thing inside them moving.

She heard it when Silia started to make the rumbling sound. 'Huh, I didn't know dragons could purr. Neat.' Then Silia offered to answer any questions, and Dawna was momentarily stunned. She had so many questions, where should she start. "How big are...chicks?... when they hatch? How long does it take them to grow up? What sort of looking after do they need when they're babies?" This was only scratching the surface of her curiosity, but she figured best not to overwhelm Silia. There would be plenty of time for questions."

Hara chuckled at Achi's comment about it being a small island. Sometimes, it sure felt that way. But before yesterday, it had seemed rather ginormous in her loneliness.

But then his tone changed and he mentioned evasive action. She turned over her shoulder and saw a plane following behind them. "Well, we certainly don't want him to find Silia." 'Or the eggs,' she thought to herself. But since Achi didn't know he was about to be a father, she figured it wasn't her place to tell him that. "Ok, chances are that if you just escaped from him, he's after you. I'll fly down into th trees to hide myself from him, you continue on, but don'e go toward the mountain. Go away from it. I'll be close behind and I'll find someway to bring down the plane. Alright?"

Not waiting for his reply, she casually dove down into the trees, hoping Achi would do as she said.

Thanatos noticed one dive down and sighed not having a good feeling about this but of course his curiosity just drowned out his sense and he followed Aichu anyway regardless of the danger that was probably coming his way. Thanatos just turned on the radar making sure he keep a close eye on it as he followed the dragon traveling a a slower speed but would speed up whenever it did.

Silia chuckled at Dawna's barrage of questions. "Well, it depends on the size of the parents. Small dragons will have small chicks, large dragons, large chicks. Something like you're dogs. My babies will probably be about the size of Grey Hounds when they hatch, only not so spindly. They need as much looking after as a human toddler when they first hatch. But they mature rather quickly in the first few months. They are usually ready to go out on their own by the time they are in their mid teens they are usually ready to start going off on their own. So, I guess at least at first, we age just a little faster than humans. But then, about the time we hit our late teens and twenties, our aging slows, so we can live for hundreds of years."

Achiu nodded his agreement with Hara's plan. He had to agree, he definately didn't want Silia to be found if he could avoid it. Banking away from the mountain, he kept his pace steady and his path straight enough so as not to lose the human. He didn't know what this man's game was, but he wasn't going to let him get away with it. 'Alright Hara. What ever you're going to do, go for it, girl.'

Dawna listened in fascination. "Wow. I guess that all sort of makes sense, doesn't it? I mean, in every species, the size of the babies depends on the size of the parents. And it does seem that the more intelligent the animal, the longer it takes for the babies to mature. I mean, apes are the most intelligent animals besides humans....well, at least, they were....and their babies take the longest to mature. So if dragons are as intelligent as humans, I guess it would make sense that you grow at the same rate as us."

Hara quickly made her way back so that she was behind the plane. 'Alright. This thing is big, so how am supposed to take it down? And if it crashed, it would probably do a lot of damage to the jungle....' She thought for a minute, then an idea came to her. 'Wait a minute! Maybe I don't have to bring it down on my own. There has to be a human flying that thing, right? So, if I could just scare him....' Her idea forming, Hara gained altitude till she was right behind the plane, a little above it.

Carefully, she caught up to it and landed on top. She then slowly made her way to the front of the machine. Taking a deep breath and putting on the most terrifying face she could, she lowered herself down so she was staring in the window. She let out a loud roar. "Alright, you! Land this thing right now or else!"

He looked at the dragon but instead of becoming frightened he smiled and waved at the dragon before shaking his head ' I'm not lading this thing, I'm pretty curious about that dragon I let go earlier, I wanna see where he came from!" he yelled and smiled pulling a camera from the floor and took a picture " Such an awesome picture." he said. He sped up a little " Its not wise to be right infront of my field of view though, I might be a good pilot but still Its not a good thing to obscure vision, I don't want you getting hurt, so please move!" he said. He wasn't giving up regardless, he wasn't planning anything he was just curious is all and it showed in his voice He smiled " But you know, its cute that yuor trying to scare me, you've just made my day better!" he said " I love dragons so much!" he said..

Silia listened to Dawna's ramble with only minor annoyance. She wasn't sure how she felt about being compared to a bunch of other animals, including apes, but she was sure Dawna didn't mean any harm. "Well, I guess dragons and humans have many similarities. But simply because we look like monsters to you, your kind wants to destroy us." She realized almost instantly that that was probably phrased badly. "Well, I suppose not all humans. Certainly not you, apparently. But certainly the knights and the scientists."

Achiu took a quick glance over his shoulder when he heard Hara's roar. She was on top of plane, dangling over the front windshield. Though he couldn't see her face, if it had matched her voice, he was sure that she was terrifying to look at. Certainly this would take the human off their tails. But just in case, he turned back and headed toward the plane to be ready to give her a hand if she needed it.
