hide is amazing on guitar. I went to JRock Rev and they were playing the X Japan last live. Not only did I bawl my eyes out (Damn you Yoshiki...) I couldn't help but grin at the same time. hide is truly amazing, especially on a big screen. Good lord...And I got to explain to my friend who he was and why he is and always will be insanely awesome. (She's new to Jrock, I'm converting her! YAY!)
...By the way, not to bring up old things but...Kaoru Valentine...Sama isnt only used to refer to someone as a 'god' of sorts...It's also used to refer to someone of higher 'rank' than you, or someone with special talents or really good looks. >_> It's a sign of respect not, 'HOMG J00 ARE GOD!' So maybe people who say hide-sama dont mean he's a GOD persay, they're just putting respect, ne? I'm just saying. ^^ Call me KV, if you wish : ). (Welcome to the guild btw, I haven't really seen you post around here). Anyway, yeah, it's used to show that someone is of a higher rank than you. However, I don't care if someone is a rockstar or not, it doesn't make them better than you.
I've lived in Japan, and the only time I've heard 'Sama' is in relation to God or to someone who is someone of very high rank. Also, the horrid fangirls screeching 'KAMENASHI SAMA~~KYAAAA'
I don't mind if someone who speaks fluent, or close to fluent Japanese uses it, because they know what it means and they understand it and choose to use it when referring to a rock star (even if it does annoy me somewhat). What further annoys me to the point of wanting to bash my head against my keyboard is the little impressionable anime watchers who have little to no concept of true Japanese and use that term.
Anyway, sorry for rambling. ^^;
