ok so from the moment ive woken up i've been working on this
note: no idea if someone is already working on this but meh if so two heads are better then one....right o.O
also i'm still a long ways from finishing this is just what i've done so far

Blood Purity Guide
The longstanding separation between the wizarding and Muggle worlds in the Harry Potter universe has led many wizards to advocate keeping the two apart. This view has in turn led to a minority of wizards seeing Muggles (and wizards of pure Muggle parentage) as untrustworthy, foolish, or, in extreme cases, racially inferior. The common practice of wizards marrying Muggles is viewed by such extremists as miscegenation, and they instead advocate maintaining a so-called "purity of blood."

Pure-blood
Pure-blood is the term applied to wizards and witches who have no Muggle blood, Muggle borns, half-bloods or "blood traitors" at all in their genealogical pedigree. Although technically, pure-bloods have no Muggle ancestors, the small wizarding population means that "true" pure-bloods are rare or even non-existent, with most just ignoring or disowning the few Muggles in their family.Known Pure-blood families include the Blacks, the Lestranges, the Crouches, the Gaunts, the Longbottoms, the Malfoys, the Potters, and the Weasleys. To maintain their blood purity, supremacist families have been known to inbreed into their own families by marrying their cousins; this results in mental instability and violent natures

Half-blood
Half-blood refers to those wizards and witches who: have at least one Muggle parent or grandparent, or, have recent Muggle ancestors in their family trees. Half-bloods are the most common wizard blood, far outnumbering pure-bloods and Muggle-borns.

Muggle-Born
Muggle-born is the term applied to wizards and witches who come from non-magical parents. According to Rowling, the average Hogwarts annual intake for Muggle-borns is 25%.
Supremacists typically believe Muggle-borns to be magically deficient, despite counter-examples, such as Hermione Granger and Lily Evans, who are exceptionally skilled in their abilities.
Pure-blood supremacists refer to Muggle-borns with the offensive derogatory term Mudblood.

Squibs
Squib is the term applied to a child born of magical parents but possessing no magical ability; they are considered to be the opposite of Muggle-born wizards/witches. Squib births are rare anormalies. The Ministry of Magic does not require them to be registered as part of the Magical Community. Squibs share some things with wizards and they are aware of and comprehend the wizarding world. They are also able to see Hogwarts, which ordinary Muggles cannot.the custom with Squibs has been to send them to Muggle schools and encourage them to integrate into the Muggle world, which is "much kinder" than keeping them in the magical world, where they will always be "second-class". In contrast to most of the wizarding world's acceptance and even respect for Muggles and Muggle-born wizards, it is often considered embarrassing to have a Squib in the family.

Mixed Species
Some wizards are the products of unions between humans and magical creatures of human or near-human intelligence, such as Fleur Delacour and her sister Gabrielle, (both part Veela) and Hagrid (half giant). In wizard parlance, a creature with human intelligence – including a person – is called a "being". Known beings capable of breeding with humans include goblins, giants, and Veela. Prejudiced wizards (such as Umbridge) often use the insulting term half-breed to refer to mixed-species wizards and werewolves, or other beings such as merpeople and centaurs (who are separate species) because of their part-human and part-beast appearances and "near-human intelligence".

Going to add to the mixed species which ones are possible. also are there going to be any stat bonuses to the purities?

Magical Creature Guide

Magizoology (a portmanteau of "magic" and "zoology") is the study of magical creatures in the Harry Potter series. A person who studies Magizoology is known as a magizoologist. There are magizoologists who work in the Ministry of Magic, particularly in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

Regulation and classification
The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures of the Ministry of Magic is responsible for overseeing and regulating magical creatures. To do so they have divided it into three devisions: the Beast Division, the Being Division and the Spirit Division.

-Being Division: is generally defined as “any creature that has sufficient intelligence to understand the laws of the magical community and to bear part of the responsibility in shaping those laws” ( according to Fantastic Beasts

-Beast Division: like th e names the magical creatures that fall under such a classification are those with more beast like characteristics. Unlike the Being Division they are incapable of “sufficient intelligence”. Some in this classification are considered Beings ( like the Centaurs and Merpeople) but rejected the status in favor of beast status.

-Spirit Division: the creatures falling in this status are those with no physical bodies. The most common example being ghosts.

I love wikipedia XD... now I need to go search which creatures belong in which division gonk

That's great heart It's good cause its not too long, each of the sub headings. 83

But remember that there would be much more Purebloods around in this time period.. but the family's ancestors would exist. :33

_______________

Heh, muggles don't like witches at this point.. someone should get burned 8D But it doesn't work heh

lol. ideally, I'd make my character first and then figure out which house he/she would fit in. But if the RP activity is low, I'll shoe myself in the more populated community. ((Like with WotN, I would prefer a water/ice themed village, but Konoha has more activity and it had nicer looking/organized threads *shallow*. Don't really regret it either.))

*stabs several times*
Say the bold again... stare

stare
stare
stare

It's not good to insult the Waterfall Village ((Even thought it's because of the Master Plot that our activity was demolished. As for Aisu, it's not an "Official" village.))

@Rin: You forgot Auror, Oracle, Sage, Druid, Minister, Sorcerer... razz

I'm currently waiting for assignment, so just let me know. ^_^

Ow. DX

I wasn't just examining at Takigakure at the time, I was also looking around at the other villages. Konoha just stood out to me more. I felt it was a good place for a newbie to start. There was the information center thread, and the news and events thread, which is a super nice bonus for someone who had no idea what time of day or season the RP is in, and what sort of events might be taking place. Oh yeah, and the navigation map. It also helped that there were other newbies starting around the same time I did, and so I was never really alone when I trained. The vets were really helpful and nice about guiding me in the right directions when I made a mistake, especially during a time when there wasn't a Kage around. Also, I got to meet, RP with, and make friends with some great people. So yeah, it was an overall nice experience for me, even though I missed out on making my ideal shinobi.

Sorry about offending you. Really, I wasn't deliberately trying to insult a particular village, much less yours.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 03, 2010 10:32 am

razz I'm not offended, it would have been impossible for you to join Taki. By the time the Fifth Dawn disbanded; ((before you joined the guild)); we only had two active Taki shinobi. Those two then left to different villages so it didn't really work to keep Taki open for registration.

Besides, you'd feel the same way after nurturing your own village. XD The slightest possible insinuation and you'll have your claws out. rofl

@Dragaos: I don't know if this bothers anyone else... but... instead of making 3 seperate posts... why don't you just edit the first one? If you're the last poster, why not just edit them? ((It makes it seem like you're just posting for post count.))

On a side note... I could work on spells if nobody wants to get their hands dirty with that. I used to Rp with Harry Potter and we came up with some clever little spells... my favorite being Balloonus Animalious. ((I'm sure you can guess what it does just from the name. XD))

i'll edit in the future

@Nefertari
oh yeah i can edit that pure blood stuff....i did just copy and paste it from Wiki XD

If it's Game System threads, try to use document style to keep it consistent! =3

But it looks very good, Drago.

For the Herbology Thread:

Herbology: one of the mandatory classes for the first five years at Hogwarts. The greenhouses, where these classes take place, are located across the Hogwarts grounds from the castle. One greenhouse differs from another greenhouse by the plants they house and their function. For example, greenhouse three is the area where mandrakes are cultivated (it is advised that one enters it wearing earmuffs, as protection against a mandrake's cry) while greenhouse one is the area for first years (and contains generally safer plants). Otherwise they share similar architectural similarities. Unlike muggle glasshouses, which are generally made of plastic or metal, these greenhouses are made of wood, with statues of slender dragons run along the roofs.

Herbology Professor:

Equipment:
  • Dragon hide Gloves - worn while handling dangerous plants.
  • Wand - used in herbology related spells.
  • Ear Muffs - protection against mandrakes.
  • Dragon dung compost - used for planting.
  • Mooncalf dung - used as fertilizer.
  • Dragon dung - used as fertilizer.

Textbooks:
  • One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore (required for first years and up)
  • Encyclopedia of Toadstools
  • Flesh-Eating Trees of the World (required for sixth years)
  • Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean
  • Goshawk's Guide to Herbology by Miranda Goshawk

Am I missing anything?

Mini and the others familiar with d20...or someone. Make up a sample spell lesson/activity? =O And an explanation of how to do it. And someone make up a very simple d20 guide. Basically explaining to the people who are absolutely not acquainted with this on how to roll the dice and generate numbers. X_X

I love you Mini... crying <- going insane over the system

And we need ability and skill caps, at least something to start with. Any suggestions on that, guys? We can't have them too high, since there are like...less abilities and skills to start with since I did a lot of merging between this and Wotn's skill list. o_O
