Noting his confusion, she decides this was another topic for after her encounter with the intruder. She was too focused, too busy not sprinting off to take care of one who was so terribly unwelcome. One corner of her mouth twitched into something like a smile as she picked up on his sarcasm, and she shook her head slightly. "There are plenty of pirates running around. They just pay tributes." she grinned lightly to herself, walking lightly down the worn path and turning sharply to walk along the river. "Who are not welcome? I will give you one guess." her expression falls once again, hands slipping into her jacket pockets. "Once, they were welcome. But times have changed. Their... leader has made me terribly unhappy, and I'm quite surprised he would send one anywhere near my lands so soon. Perhaps it's a sacrifice." she speaks mostly to herself, finding this last thought rather amusing.

Nemo kept up with her well enough though she was obviously in some sort of rush, "Well pirates are just bandits in a dingy who lack a certain charm." He couldn't help but make the comment. With her last few comments he finally understood who was not welcome and why. Wow this was not going to go over well at all. "I thought that sacrifices were supposed to be burned at an alter." He joked back, "Do you have an altar?"

(I'm assuming I have permission to TIME SKIP!
The next morning, Mori hummed as she stirred some honey into a cup of otherwise bitter herbal tea meant to help her recover from birth. The twins, while not having slept entirely through the night, had let her and Jon at least get some rest, and then woken up in the wee hours of this morning, hungry. As it was now, they were both safely down for a mid-morning nap, not even Dae being fussy about the idea. She had giggled when the youngest had immediately latched on to the black cat in her crib, it helping her settle down much easier.
Now, she sat down and at the kitchen table with a relieved sigh. She would sense when they woke up, so she felt quite secure in taking a moment to breath. She took a drink of the cooling tea, the sweet taste of the honey covering up the worst of the herbs, and still made a face at the taste. “The things I do for my health…” she muttered before forcing herself to take another sip.

Jon sat patiently in the chair adjacent from his wife expertly pealing a fruit with his hunting knife. His bare feet were crossed at the ankles with one of his elbows resting on the table top as he worked for the small morsel of food. He wasn't actually that hungry, to be honest he was just consuming something because he knew that he needed to. "Your health is rather important. I do believe a bitter drink is well worth it." He discarded the single long sliver of peel before taking a bite out of the meat of the fruit. A small amount of juice ran down his chin forcing the archer to wipe with his sleeve. Jon swallowed what was in his mouth. The children had proven to be interesting. Sleeping more than anything else they tended to only wake for food. Besides that though, things seemed rather normal. It was almost as if nothing had changed except for Jon and Mori now spending time with the two little ones as well. The house was quiet for now, which Jon was enjoying. Though he had a feeling that would end around lunch. He needed to either go to the port or go hunting and restock the pantry but it could wait for at least another day or two. He really just didn't feel like leaving the house for the moment.

Approaching the home, Anlu lighty rapped on the door, hoping Jon would answer. If Mori was still round and waddling, it would not be fair to make her walk. Anlu would simply barge in if that was the case. "Jon? Mori? Open up please, I haven't heard form you sinc eyesterday and it's freaking me out." Wow, were her nerves really showing through her voice? "Is everything alright? Open up or I'm picking the lock..." Probably not needed, but why take chances?

Jon looked towards the door shaking his head, "As much as I would like to see her try to pick the lock, I'd rather the little ones stayed asleep." He set the knife down on the table moving toward the door. It was definitely Anlu, clearly the girl had gotten word of the nights events and was not using her common sense. Silently he opened the door before pressing a single finger against Anlu's lips. "The little ones are trying to sleep." His eyes shifted from Anlu to Puck for an instant and then back to Anlu. He removed his finger, "Mori is in the kitchen drinking some tea." He took yet another bite of the fruit turning from the young couple and heading back to the kitchen where he would take his seat, knowing full well that at least Anlu would follow and Puck would follow Anlu. "We have company" He smiled slightly as he uttered these words to his wife.

Mori rolled her eyes, but before she could retort, a soft knock on the door had her almost jumping out of her skin. She heard the dishes in the cupboard rattle as her powers stirred, but they were blessedly too sluggish to actually break anything. Still, her telepathy reached for the twins, hoping that the noise from the door or the kitchen didn’t wake them. Thankfully, they were both still dead to the world, and she relaxed in a boneless slump in her chair again, passing her hand over her face with a sigh of relief.
Taking a larger drink of her tea and making another face, she listened as Jon teased Anlu without her even being there and smiled slightly. Raising her head when she heard them return to the kitchen, she smiled at them tiredly in greeting. “Morning,” she started to say, and then she caught the scent rolling off of them, more strongly from Puck than Anlu. Her eyes grew wide for a moment, before she looked down at her cup again. “And congratulations. It is about time you two stopped dancing around each other.”
Snickering at Anlu’s nerves, Puck rubbed her shoulder casually to try to calm her down a little. Remember kitten, everything is fine, he tried to reassure her. He tried very hard not to laugh at the idea of her picking the lock. Very hard. He smiled in greeting at Jon, only to scowl and let out a low growl when he dared press his finger against Anlu’s mouth. His anger was lost though in what he said. “Little ones?” the demon male confirmed in disbelief, though he was careful to keep his voice down. “You mean she did have the twins last night?” Oh, the irony. He shook his head as he followed Jon into the kitchen. “I’m not sure if I should congratulate you or mourn the fact I never got to see Aunt waddle,” he joked with a sigh. A faint blush immediately crossed his face, his ears and the back of his neck turning red as well, at his aunt’s comment. He forgot she would be able to smell exactly what he and Anlu had been up to last night.

Anlu would have protested to being shut up if the words that came afterwards hadn't made her go pale. "She.. had them... and no one sent for me?" She made her way to the kitchen as fast as she could to see Mori significantly thinner, and then the guilt rolled in. "Mori, what happened? You weren't due for several more weeks." She placed the basket she had on the counter. "I brought stuff for your back, stomach, and pretty much everything else. I wasn't sure if you... Why didn't anyone come and get me? I should have been here..." She was close to ramming her head on the counter, but didn't want to stir the kids. She felt like doing it despite the kids when Mori... commented... "Yeah. let's not talk about that. It's all about you right now." She tried to act cheery as an obvious attempt to keep the subject where the blind girl wanted it.

Jon smiled slightly, "What's wrong was our wonderful nephew so poor that you're avoiding the subject?" It seemed he had gotten the chance to fire off at Puck before any verbal assault could be launched by the demon. It was actually entertaining to watch Anlu in such a fluster over something. She seemed to be a woman who needed to be needed. So different than the shy Mori and quiet Jon. Then there was puck who seemed to actually blush at a subject that really wasn't that horrible. They were all adults after all. There were two pieces of evidence asleep upstairs on that subject. "We really didn't have the time to get you. Alex doesn't know you and the girls were coming no matter what. Besides I have the distinct feeling that even if we had tried we would not have wanted to find you. There are somethings that i would rather not see others doing."

Quite gracefully, Anlu's daggar went from it's hilt into the air, and into the girl's hand. It was a flawless catch that was proceeded by the blade being spun between her fingers. The faster the knife spun, obviously the more annoyed she was. Still, she grinned sarcastically. "Oh, big-brother Jon, you are so absolutely funny! Do tell, when was the last time you spoke of your love life publically? Perhaps you enjoy nice chats with the Captain or Nemo about all the things that make you feel good in bed, hm?" Oh yeah, she was getting pissed. It was a good thing her tone was very hushed. Yes, she was practically speaking through her teeth. Then, the reminder of where she was while Mori was in obvious pain, drenched her temper instantly. Rubbing a hand over her face, she put her daggar back where is was. "Anyway, since it's obvious I'm not needed, I have more work to attend to at home... the basket has close to everything you could need, you know how to use it all, Jon..." With that she headed towards the door. SHe'd stop if told to, but otherwise she saw no point in staying.

The flush that crossed Mori’s face was even darker than her nephew’s at Jon’s unexpected (and somewhat crude) humor. Narrowing her eyes, she aimed a kick at his shin under the table. “That was uncalled for,” she told him, her voice getting a slight squeak in her embarrassment. She could smell it, she didn’t want to even think about seeing it. She turned even darker at Anlu’s retaliation for his commentary, and hid her face in her hands with a groan. Mori certainly hoped Jon didn’t talk about… She blushed even darker just thinking about it.
As if picking up on their mother’s distress or just the emotional vibe downstairs, the new mother felt more than heard her youngest start to stir. Ears twitching as she raised her head, she sighed as she definitely heard Dae whimper as she stirred. “Stay, please,” she encouraged the guests, laying a hand gently on Anlu’s elbow in passing. “Puck can meet his baby cousins,” she added, giving Jon a dirty look before she climbed the stairs. It was obvious she blamed him for causing trouble, and thus the twins waking up. Twins, plural, as Dae’s squirming started waking up Kalina.
Once upstairs, she picked up the fussy dark-haired baby first, “Sh…” she tried to sooth the little girl, placing her on her shoulder and rubbing the little back gently. A few hiccupped cried later, and Dae was calm once more, sniffling a little. A coo from the other crib had Mori smiling, walking over to the other side of the room, and gently brushing blonde curls across Kalina’s forehead. She hummed to both of her daughters in comfort, wanting them both calm before she tried to introduce them to more people.
Puck about choked on his own tongue at Jon’s commentary, but thankfully his dear aunt tried to bring the situation back under control, leaving him Anlu. Resting his own hands on her shoulders, he stopped her and whispered, “Down, kitten. Sharpening your claws on your future uncle is not usually the best of actions.” Over her head, though, he was leveling a glare at Jon himself. Xerians were rather possessive little buggers, especially the males, and while he wasn’t the best example of it, the relationship upheaval of last night had his instincts on edge. While he enjoyed a good joke as much as the next, Puck wasn’t about to have Anlu feel ashamed of what she did last night.

Jon jumped slightly with the connection of the kick dropping the tender half eaten fruit only to catch it before it hit the ground, he was not about to loose his lunch. "Anlu you know me far better than that. Besides I was only trying to get a rise out of my dear nephew nothing more. I am truly glad that you to finally initiated some sort of relationship. In fact it will probably pay for food next week." Of course he had had a bet with some people on the relationship, he had been at home for the entirety of Mori's pregnancy, he had to do something to entertain himself sometimes. The slight increase in money wasn't to bad either, considering that Jon nearly always won thanks to some influence with the parties involved. "Besides I wouldn't trust myself to treat Mori. In fact i don't even trust myself to treat the little ones if they should fall ill." He stood watching Mori start up the stairs and finishing the rest of the fruit. He started to take steps to the stairs wiping his fingers on his pant leg. "Now come along and meet the little birds. We'll let you know when they are ready, one of the little dears doesn't seem to take to fondly to strangers which could be both a blessing and a curse." He didn't even look behind them knowing full well that they would follow him up to the nursery. Once there he saw his wife Cradling one of the children. He just stopped for an instant taking the image in, enjoying it this was their one shot at some sort of blessed normalcy. He took a step in not making to much sound on the bare floor. Lightly he kissed Mori's cheek, "Sorry my dear, I couldn't resist." His eyes then looked down upon bubbly little Kalina, "And how are my little ladies this morning?" He was an affectionate fool around these children already. There was no telling how much spoiling these girls were bound to get in the coming years.

Anlu had to stop... as Puck was holding her in place. She was tempted to keep walking despite the obvious restraints on her, but even Mori insisted. She still had to grumble mentally. My dearest future uncle, however, sometimes deserves to be used as a scratching post... She was settling down now, arms crossed over her chest as she leaned back onto Puck. Jon's mention of having actually made bets on them was... a little disturbing, but not shocking at all. She, too, was a gambler of sorts. "I can't say I'm surprised you bet... at least it'll help pay for the kids... I guess. You're welcome then." Moving to grab her basket of ointments and other goods, shtucked herself back under Puck's hold and started up the stairs with him. At least he was letting her feel useful. Inmore than one wya, now thats he thought about it. "I suppose if you need any extra coin, I could always purposely win you a bet... I know Nemo wouldn't pass something like that." Her voice remained quiet, but it was softr than it had been when she'd gotten ticked off. Stopoing just outside the room, she decided to stay back for a moment while the couple was together with their kids.

Dae had just relaxed against her mother’s shoulder when she heard her father’s voice. Instantly, she raised her head slightly and reached for him, making a soft, demanding noise to indicate she wanted to be in his arms rather than her mother’s. It was nothing against her mother, but she just found her father more soothing. Everything still felt strange and new, and if she couldn’t have the stuffed cat that was still in her crib, she wanted her father. She sniffled a little, making it clear she would start to cry if a switch wasn’t made.
While she didn’t necessarily hear him, the half-demon did sense and smell her husband enter the room. Quirking a brow, Mori let him kiss her cheek. “I’ll kick you harder next time,” was the only warning she gave him about the incident. Smiling when Dae began to struggle in her arms, she said in a much sweeter tone, “And I think this petifi is already Daddy’s little girl.” She adjusted her hold so it would be easier for Jon to take the youngest twin from her. Hopefully, being in her preferred parent’s hold would keep her calm when she met Puck and Anlu.
Once sure that his lover wasn’t going to claw Jon’s eyes out, Puck’s hold changed from one of restraint to one of care before dropping his arms so she could move. Giving her a kiss on the cheek when she tucked herself back against him, he willingly followed Jon up the stairs. A day when Jon’s attempts to get to him failed was a good day in his opinion. He paused outside of the room that was obviously the nursery, judging by the noise of a fussy baby inside. A snicker escaped as he imagined Jon having to deal with not one by two little girls. It was material for years worth of jokes. He leaned against the wall as he waited for the all clear, pulling Anlu so she was still firmly in his hold.

It was still new to her, this feeling of extreme confort she gained when he pulled her close. If not for the night before she might still be pulling away now, but it was a big step she took. She still had her concernas about being close to people, especially the one of which those close to her tended to get hurt if they weren't killed. So far, however, all harmful attempts had been on herself, not those she cared for so she was fine now.
Hearing the little child wimper and coo, and soft smile spread on her face. She could handle children well enough, though having her own was always a conflict within her, too. She would love to have her own children... except... what if she couldn't mother them? And what if thye got her eyes... She would never wish that upon them. Mori's a good mother...
