taste the salt of my tears take the wealth of my years singing in the millennium with you "Just blend in," Ash said to himself as he walked into the ballroom with his hat tipped over his eyes and his hands in his pockets. He fixed his bright red tie and strode over to a wall to lean up against. Being around vampires made him extremely uncomfortable, so much so that he even went as far as to keep a human shape to his ears and to keep his tail tucked in. He didn't harbor a grudge against vampires for his past, he knew better. He knew that for the sake of the two towns, he would have to look past his own insecurities and try to rectify the mistakes that were made. resolutions for show old ways don't seem to know singing in the millennium with you

Yet hold me against the light, do you see any bullets inside? It took her a few minutes to regain her composure before she left the room again, but not without a thumbs up from Louie. Static turning red a bit with blush, she quickly exited. Instead of watching like she had before, PQ headed straight to the dance floor. Even in formal wear she kept her boots on, and they contrasted many of the shoes that pranced along the marble.
Seeing her friend Pieta dancing, at the moment with no one particular, PQ moved silently behind her. Grabbing Pieta's hand gently, she put her other hand on the girl's waist and spun her towards PQ's body. Laughing a little to ease the sudden change of motion, the smile in her voice was obvious. "You can't dancey dancey alone, Pieta." You wouldn't find one if you magnified, because you got the wrong girl.

A surprised expression crossed Pieta's face. Discovering it was the missing PQ, a smug grin spilled across Pie's lips. A friendly yet sarcastic tone escape her lips, "Well it seems that I'm no longer alone. Took you long enough to come down." She danceyed a few steps with PQ. Then she playfully winked at her good friend, "Had to chum it up with Edmund and Louie?"

Keel nodded and laughed. "It's quite alright. I don't mind really. Just as long as you don't start poking me or somehting. Heh." He stopped fiddling with the blade and stpood straight now and looked Hayley up and down. "What about you?"

"Human. Well, for the most part, that is. I had a bit of an "accident" this past year." She tilted her face to highlight the large scar running through a dead looking eye. "The Elite Guard over in Barton kicked me out saying the damage was irreparable, but the Aekeans managed to fix me up the only way they knew how. They replaced the whole damned thing with a fully functional mechanical eye. If it weren't for Aekea, I'd be off the force and half blind."
Hayley was insecure about her robotic part, and wanted to change the subject badly. Thankfully, she saw what looked, from the description she'd heard already, to be the host of tonight's events.
"Say, isn't that the famous PQ over there?" she asked Keel as the robot girl joined Pieta on the dance floor.

Keel turne dhis head and looked. And there PQ was dancing with Pieta on the dance floor. 'Yes. Yes, that is. Looks like she's come out of hiding tonight." He glanced back at the two, dancing. "They look pretty lonely, dancing out there. Shall we join them?" He spoke smoothly as he stwed his scythe on his back, safely.

"Heh..."
She hesitated. She wasn't exactly one for dancing. She was more than graceful in combat, but the second she set foot on that floor, she knew she'd end up as if she had two left feet. She was looking forward to meeting PQ, of course, but she had hoped that would happen on a less awkward note.
"Let's just say the dance floor isn't exactly my terrain of choice." She crack a half smile. "You can go on ahead, if you'd like. It seems like some more people are starting to filter in, and I've got a lot of unfamiliar faces to, well, familiarize myself with."

Yet hold me against the light, do you see any bullets inside? It was easy to follow a certain pattern of dancing, even when what Pieta said came out of her mouth. one two three, one two three, oh my god, one two three. "I wish the King could grace us with his presence," she said instead of what was going on in her head, giving Pieta a little twirl, letting her skirt dance around her. "I discovered I have a little case of the nerves is all," she added as the music ended and she gave her dance partner a low bow.
Just as she rose, another song picked itself up, shifting into a beat the Aekeans would be more familiar with. The beat was heavy; PQ could feel it deep in every metallic crevice of her body. "No one has died tonight right?" Her tone was joking but there was a layering of seriousness to it.
Even before Pieta could answer, PQ's cell phone went off. Quickly answering it, her body sulked. Mouthing "important call" to her friend, she waved and more or less ran out of the party, feet silent on the steps. You wouldn't find one if you magnified, because you got the wrong girl.

Before she could be embarassingly persuaded on to the dance floor, Hayley tipped her hat with a smile and removed herself from conversation with Keel with a quick, "See you around!"
She mingled with the sparse crown eagerly, hoping to actually talk to one of the vampires. However, the few that happened to be attended seemed engrossed in their own conversations or in Frogger's delicious pastries. Apparently the ones meant for the less than living were just as good as the ones she had tried.
She spotted a man in a dark hat and a scarlet tie standing alone against one of the walls. His body language betrayed a hint of anxiousness, and with his attire, she thought there was a good chance he was a vamp. With their numbers at the party being what they were, she wouldn't be surprised if he was overwhelmed by the Aekean presence.
Making her way across the room, she placed herself right next to him with her back to the wall and her arms crossed. "So, you enjoying the party, stranger?"
At this distance she could see the scars that outlined the lower parts of his face, but his eyes were still shielded from her vision. With scars like that and hair that white, he must be one of those vampires..., she thought to herself.

Raelinn Monk gracefully made her way into the Crane's elevator. She knew she was late, but she was late for everything except for work and Bowler Babe concerts. So, she felt perfectly calm, collected, and slightly excited. There was no reason to be nervous about the Vampires as she knew a few of her fellow Aekeans had been. She'd been a member of a theater group in Durem for quite a few years so she was used to Vampires. In fact she was hoping that perhaps some of the other members would be there. Dawgie-B on the other hand seemed incredibly nervous. He didn't like crowds and Rae rarely took him out of her apartment for that reason. But tonight was a special night and he needed the escape. not to mention she'd yet to introduce him to her friends. As far as they knew he didn't even exist. Glancing at him she saw he was shaking in his straight jacket. "Darling, you will be fine. Calm down." She whispered placing her hand on his cheek, something that always calmed him. He looked at her wide-eyed and nodded while his breathing slowed. The elevetaor pinged. They were there. Smiling sweetly Rae waited for the doors open. When they did she gasped. It was beautiful. She'd never seen the Crane look so good. Putting her hand on Dawgie's shoulder she gently ushered him out of the elevator and into the party.

"I beat he's around here somewhere. It's a chance for him to see Sam in a dress." She chuckled as they danced. Twirling around for a moment, her smile grew. She patted the cyborg on the shoulder, "Ah, it happens to all of us." The music ended and Pie curtsied to her.
She could tell PQ was worried, it was her shindig. If someone died, the blame would fall on her. About to answer that no one had been bat food, she was interrupted by PQ's phone. She read PQ's expression, and waved her off. PQ was an important political figure in Aekea and that mean't being on the clock not matter what. Pie swiftly exited the dance floor and decided to help herself to some dinner. Off to the bacon wrapped land! She thought with a spring in her step.

Leading Dawgie-B to the refreshment table Raelinn inspected what was there. "Do you want anything, sweetie?" Dawgie shook his head staring intently at the floor. Sighing she looked up at the decorations... and then back at her outfit. "You've got to be kidding me!" She said laughing quite loud. "I match the decorations! Ahahaha... That was completely by accident too!" Her laughing slowly subsided into a fit of giggles and eventually died as she saw the blush on Dawgie-B's face. Monk was embarassing him.

"Heh, and here I thought I was finally going to get to meet a real life vampire. What a shame. Another Aekean, eh? What scraps of metal do you have rattling around inside?"
She grinned. He didn't seem like the others. She didn't feel like she had to censure herself around this one. She often missed the guys on the force back home eagerly. Here, her only coworkers were the police drones.
"The name's Hayley. You can call me X if you want. And as for "collateral damage," it looks like you aren't doing so hot yourself."

I'm more along the lines of wolf man and the son of Frankenstein," he remarked, tapping his left shoulder with his right knuckle. the percussion it made was muffled by the polyester shirts but faint sounds of metal could be heard.
