Because it's your body, you should be able to have a say as to what goes into it! Personally, I think that it's worse than murder. Why? Because no matter how awful the death, it's still death, which is an end to the pain. But rape is just a form of pain that that person is going to have to deal with for the rest of their lives. That's why I think the punishment for multiple counts of rape should be the removal of the offenders testicles and p***s, ALONG WITH jail time where they automatically become everyone's b***h so that they get but raped every day! *nods*
I'll bet you then people would think a bit more before doing it.

As for Human Trafficking, same problem, really. But another problem I have with it is that
#1: It's not just once, it's over and over and over.
#2: It frequently involves children and minors. Actually, children and minors are the norm. And that is just wrong.

@ DysFUNKtional Duck: sorry for hugs earlier, was trying to be calming and comforting not encouraging sad (and yes, I know that's way back but I've been uniing it up, so sue me!)

Other things that are fail (along with things previously mentioned) - people who argue serious topics with no regard to fact, anyone else's opinion, debate, or general manners; particularly when they turn around and slander/berate people who point out the holes in the original arguments and then claim to be mistreated or whatever. Grrr

Can you tell I had a frustrating time today? *angel face*

I see. However, there are many forms of lingering pain/trauma/violation besides just Rape, so why only focus on it as the big major one? confused (Also, and I could be mistaken, but not all rapists are necessarily men.)

And again-- um, aren't there other forms of pain/trauma/violation/slavery/etc.? And child abuse as well for that matter? So... why only be upset about these two particular issues? (I dunno, I just find it a little odd is all.)

@Melnoli: Well put. (Applauds. biggrin ) And hope your day hasn't been too bad. sad

Actually, it all upsets me, but these two especially.

And you're right, there are female rapists as well. And guys get raped also, they just hardly come forward about it, and or it's hardly reported as much/you don't hear about it as often.

Ahh, okay. (Nods nods)

Well, it's very hard to say whether or not all suicide is morally wrong, but I do take the view that most cases needn't have died-- just because things seemed to be going badly didn't mean that they had to quit, and they missed out on a lot of good stuff that could've happened if they'd just held out. Besides, just because everything is crummy now doesn't mean it will stay that way.

But sometimes it's true. Sometimes it WILL stay that way no matter what you do. I agree that many suicides are unnecessary, but when life is never going to get better, you just kinda know.
Besides, only that person can know when they're ready to go. Nobody else can say whether or not somebody is ready to die. That's why it's a personal choice.

Pie
Although, as I get older, I am starting to understand more that it's possible for a person to reach a point where maybe they get used up, and there's only so much they can take.

Exactly. It's not always a desperate way out. Sometimes, people have just had enough. They've lived their life and they're ready for it end.

Pie
One thing that really bugs me at any rate is how everybody goes bananas when someone kills themselves. Why weren't they that concerned about this individual when they were still alive? Why does it sometimes seem like it's only after you're dead that anyone gives a damn??

People are about themselves. They always are. And they like the idea of grieving. Because with grief, comes pity. That's why, when someone dies, everybody tries to act like they were closer to the victim than they actually were.

Pie
Which brings us to another thing that fails: people who go ga-ga over dead loved ones. In fact, they seem to care more about this person now that they're dead and keep doing memorial type stuff for them every five seconds even years afterwards. (Because I've actually seen this happen, and it's scary.) The dead, are, well, dead. You can't bring them back ever. I know grief can be hard but I thought part of life was learning how to move on past bad stuff and try to accept what happened. (Or, am I wrong?)
It may not be any of my business, but I have to ask. Have you ever lost someone you were close to?

I agree with her. I take on life and all it's issues with the utmost nonchalantness. Crimes don't phase me. If I met someone I liked and then found out that he/she was a murderer/thief/con artist/just all around evilish, I really wouldn't care. But rape is the one crime I can't make exceptions for. I hate rapists and should I ever meet one, I really can't say as to what I'd do, but it wouldn't be pleasant.
Now I can't speak for Zephyr, but sometimes, one bad act out of many can just get under your skin. For whatever reason it becomes personal. For me, I've had some bad experiences with the criminal activity in question and so, as nonchalant as I am about everything else, I can't force myself to not care about rape.

No. Obviously not. I've spent my whole life living in a vacuum and never lost anybody ever at all. I just can't stand how people get all hung up on their own self-pity about it and turn into idiots.

And no, I obviously also don't know about "one bad act out of many." Or way too many freakin' bad acts that added up over time, that "get under your skin." Because again, I've just been living in a vacuum. Although in all honestly I do not understand how a person can despise only one kind of wrong act and not care about any others. Either it's all wrong or none of it's wrong-- how can you pick and choose or make exceptions? neutral

Pie, what the hell is wrong with you lately? evil I just asked a simple question and now you're freaking out and being bitchy again. I really don't want to get into a fight with you over something as stupid as this, but I can't just overlook it when you're a jerk to me for no reason.
And by the way, the last part of your post made no sense. Either you DO understand or you DON'T. You can't get mad at me for trying to explain and then say you still don't get it. You're really grinding against my nerves, cookie.
