That doesn't make it any less creepy and that doesn't make it NOT stalking.
Stalking is illegal, you know.

Countess Annabelle Moore >>Well, it's not like he was stalking her with the intention to kill... Not a lot of the abusers do. They stalk to exert power over the victim. Sort of to show "I can get you anywhere. Nowhere you go is safe from me."

>>I don't think that was Eddy's intention either neutral Sure, it's kinda creepy. But it's also pretty innocent stalking.

And some of them do it out of obsession and a need to know where the girl is 24/7. The reasoning doesn't make it any better. They're still doing illegal things.

>>Well, yeah, I get it, but she lets him do it after she finds out. And that's just him being overprotective because he's doesn't want to lose her. She's a fragile human, you know.

Bella's an idiot. And--like a good number of victims of abuse--she goes back to him, enabling his behavior. That doesn't make it good or right.
Overprotective is just an excuse. Not to mention that as he was doing this since before they actually got together, he doesn't even really have THAT to fall back on.
Fragile human or not, it's still not something the ideal guy would be doing.

Countess Annabelle Moore >>Hey, if I could ******** him, I'd have no problem with a boyfriend sneaking into my room at night. What I wonder is why she's not perpetually tired. I would like to point out that at the time he was sneaking into her room, they weren't together. In fact, unless I read it wrong, they still didn't really know each other all that well yet. So he really had NO reason to be going into her room at night.

And his reasons were to be around her. And apparently to protect her, according to those who read what was out of Midnight Sun.

Several problems with that. One, they weren't together at the time. Two, they hadn't even really gotten to know each other by that point. Three, there was really nothing to protect her FROM when she's sleeping in her own bed at her own house. Four, while his desire to protect her is nice and all, it's kinda conflicted with the whole "wanting to eat her" bit. As it stands, at that point in time the biggest danger to Bella was Edward himself and if he REALLY wanted to protect her, he should have stayed the hell away until she was actually in trouble outside of himself and his vampiric tendencies.

>>Alright, fine. Edward is a creeper (and I haven't even read MS yet). But it would still be nice to have a guy like him, one who wasn't so protective and stalker-ish and "abusive."
