"I have to find Sairiel... Raedra and Karin will meet us there." *Trent made his wings disperse, and he started walking east.* "We have to move now... let's go" *Trent broke out into a run and didn't look back.*

Tiki broke into a trot, easily keeping pace with his bipedal counterpart, nose high and alert to signals of any kind. Occaisionally he let out the odd huff, but was otherwise silent.

*Trent wanted to go faster and he knew that Tiki was easily keeping pace with him now. He let his wings loose, but continued to run.* "Hey Tiki, if you don't mind, could you set the pace... as fast as you can stick with for a long time period, and I'll follow your pace?" *Trent was anxious, and knew that Raedra and Karin could catch them easily.*

Tiki stared at Trent for a moment, as though he was having difficulty understanding him, and broke into a bound. Although he was not truly quadripedal, it certainly seemed that way as he grabbed at stones and roots, with no more than one or two limbs touching the ground at any time. Thiss rocketing motion would tire him out, but not for a good long distance.

"Thank you Tiki." *Trent landed a foot onto a root that was protruding from the ground and pushed off, sending him into the air. He let his wings take over for his legs, and he brought himself back up to Tiki's side.* "I kno wthat you are a bit different than from when I met you Tiki... but I want you to know that I truly do appreciate everything that you have done for me, and you will always be my best friend."

Tiki was silent for a good long time, as though he couldn't think of something to say. The hypnotic repetition of his strange gate absorbed most of his attention. Finally, he spoke.
"What?!"

*Trent was taken aback. He was laying out his feelings in front of Tiki, and Tiki just compltely ignored him.* "What, what?" *Trent dodged a tree branch as he flew closer to Tiki's side.* "Didn't you hear anything I just said?"

"I... heard. I just... don't... understand," he manged, struggling slightly with the words. Something was clouding his mind. He had always been able to understand everything outside his own head, but for some reason his mind was simply not processing anything not directly related to the present, to himself, to survival. "Hurry." Tiki added an extra edge onto his gait, which had slowed in response to Trent's aside.

*Trent understood that there was something wrong going on within Tiki's head. There were many problems on the tablee already,so one more couldn't hurt.* "Once we're done with this, we'll find out what's goin on in that head of yours, okay? You don't have to say anything, just nod." *Trent quickened his pace a bit. "Hurry," was the word that made him worry the most.* [exit to forest]

**************************************************************** This is a visual marker to mark the gap between two points in the story line. All posts after this are the posts for the more recent part of the story. **************************************************************** *After an intense series of events in the mountain area, our heroes find themselves at the Oasis. It's restorative properties are perfect for their downtime before the big showdown with Calibar. Though nowhere is truly safe, this was one of the better resting areas for the group to be occupying.*

*A light breeze blew threw Karin's hair as she entered the clearing of the Oasis. It was pleasent, and restored some of her vitality. Even the air here had healing properties. Karin assumed that it was just the light humidity caused by the evaporation of the oasis' water.*
"I'm so glad I get to put this monkey down."
*Karin made her way to the water's edge as fast as she could, and placed Trent down.*
"Now, do I have to get water all over him... or just part of him?"
*Karin thought for a moment before an evil grin spread across her face. She took off for the trees humming an ominous melody as she did so.*

Contay took a long deep breath and stopped at the entrance to the oasis clearing, Sirence beside her. She stood off to the side of the path and watched quietly as everyone filed in. "I'm going to put up a small shield, just to notify us if someone crosses it, that's all I can spare if we are to be rid of Calibar soon. Please hurry."

*Karin runs back into the clearing, holding a rather large leaf of Skunk Cabbage. A grin speading almost from ear to ear plays across her face. She makes it to the water, and lowering the large leaf in, fills it like a bowl all the way to the top.*
"Hehehe..."
*She turns and lift the leaf high over Trent's head, and lets one of the leaf's edge go.*
"Whoops, silly me!" she chuckles to herself

Tiki emerged from behind some cover, chasing a squirrel, tripping the shield as he passed it. The squirrel pulled a hard left and the caninic human couldn't compensate in time, skidding into the Oasis itself with a SPLISHing noise.

Justice laughed lightly. "Well, you generally weren't ever very nice to me, is all I'm saying. It's a bit off-putting." She told him.
