Like her more? When she was dead, maybe. That's what he'd wanted and she hadn't even had to read his mind to figure it out. She did so now. He wasn't trying to capture her, just get information. Well she'd be a rotting corpse before she ever cooperated with the scum bags...the heartless, malicious trolls that would take a mother away from her child for something she couldn't help.
She ate away, stuffing food in her mouth every time it cleared out a little, so she could calm herself, not give herself away. She could also hide behind the pretense of not beng able to talk because her mouth was full.
She didn't look at him. His smug smile, his ugly mug curling with his grin.
Finally, when she couldn't hide behind the meal anymore, she hissed, "I've seen some very strange things, sir. I've seen hulking men drag a screaming woman away from her only child, her only family, and leave the child to fend for herself in the streets." Tears were welling up now, and her voice trembled, so she clamped her eyes shut, gripped the table and took a deep breath. "And the woman had never done a thing. THey only wanted her because she was one of them.
"Yes, sir. I've seen some very strange things." She stood, prepared to turn on her heel and storm out.
((As you can see, Mock's not perfectly clear on the line between AGSA and Chrest with Samuel. Chrest took her mother. Samuel's with AGSA, I believe. She doesn't know that, so there you go. I nice, angsty monologue.))

Samuel had had a few bites to eat, watching her. When she stood to leave, he stood as well. "That doesn't sound like my people, but I could check for you," he offered. That meant that if it had been AGSA that took her mom, she might find out what had happened to her. And if it had been some one else, she might find out who and not have as much of a reason to run away from Sam.
He spread his hands out, hoping she would look back at him before trying to run away. "I'm all about information. I do trades."

She turned to look at him, maybe he could help her... No. Mom had always said to stay away from AGSA guys, too. Sometimes you came back form their little "interviews" and sometimes you didn't. But, reasoned one side of her, he can help. He only wants answers, and he hasn't even asked to take me anywhere, just this restaurant. It's not like he's hauling me off for questioning in 'cuffs.In a tiny voice, with her eyes averted, she asked, "What...what kind of strange things?"

"We can step outside," he offered, and moved to hold the door open for her. "You've been all around, haven't you? Im sure you've heard about the murders and the robberies recently. I want to know about any thing strange going on."

Jay understood perfectly for she was getting a little nervous herself. She nodded in comprehension and plunged her hands in her pockets and looked around before responding, "You have a place in mind? I don't live nearby." She didn't live nearby but she didn't live far away either, something still shook her though and it made her not want him to know where she lived.
((Omg I'm soooo sorry! Gaia wouldn't let me into any of my guilds but I figured out a way in so I'm here now heh!..... sweatdrop ))

Kurayami almost smiled, "I do," he said, turning on his toes and moving into the alleys. I do not think I have to worry about her intruding into my home unless she, too, controls that which is metal. If she does, well, I can always move if need be... "This way," he stopped and motioned into the darkest and narrowest alleys that seemed to lead into a void of abondoned metal structures and those that feared the night.

"I haven't seen anything, but I've heard...around..." ((Now before I go any further, one question. Who am I ratting on? Kurayami? Or is this tall guy an NPC? I can't say anything else about what Mock has heard until I know what she's heard...))

((The person who actually committed the crimes is an NPC, but he and Kura-kun have a lot in common in looks and abilities, and since Kura-kun has a higher profile than the NPC in terms of his name being known (in the slums anyhow), he's becoming suspicious.
That's how I've understood it anyway. sweatdrop ))

((Alirhgt, Mock won't speak about Kurayami, then, because she knows it's not him. But does the NPC have a name or any information Mock can give? I can't just say, "oh, he's tall and athletic looking." They've already got that info. ))

She followed along behind him looking around as to remember just how she was getting there in case he needed to be contacted again although she did have doubts that he would stay here after she's been there. Hesitantly Jay looked into the dark alleys and ground her teeth a bit. Almost like a child she didn't like the dark, it wasn't that she wasn't afriad, she just didn't like it. Looking into the darkness she reached out in her mind and found nothing but walls and trash, no people or animals or anything of that sort so she felt relatively safe. Finally, Jay nodded and looked back to Kurayami, " This is good...Do you always stay around such dark places?" Sensing no one else around she raised her voice above a whisper to slightly below her normal speaking volume.

Kurayami continued to lead her through the alleys, everytime his movements silenced as they stepped through a shadow, "I do not fear the dark. Rather, I live in and off of it." He finally led them to the dead end where the metal slab stood against the wall. "We are here," he said, waving his arm to the side, the door moving with it, "If you do not mind, I'll lead. You might run into the wall." He smirked and stepped through the threshold, waiting for either her or an objection.
