Shiori made no movement to acknowledge her friends. Inside her confidence soared as she gave a small smile. "Back off Ciardha! Don't get hit!" Shiori called out. The combination of the curse and the lick attacks should really be affecting him now. All Ciardha really needs to do is to stay on the defensive so the curse can take its course. Ciardha didn't really have any strong special attacks so he had to sap the onix's strength little by little.
Ciardha, however, was having a hard time dodging the latest rock throw attack. He came in too close to attack Brock's pokemon with his tounge and barely dodged most of the boulders but wasn't lucky enough when one came and smashed into him on his left.
"Ciardha!" Shiori cried out. No one saw the ghost getting hit but his trainer felt the head-on collision.
The pokemon fell to the ground close to Shiori. After a few moments it floated up again, appearing before everyone's eyes. "Haunter," the ghost whispered to Shiori. He wanted to show that although weak, he was still able to battle. He disappeared again moving around the arena, staying as far away from the onix as possible. The curse would weaken his opponent until he fainted, he just had to wait and avoid any remaining attacks.

Ciardha only floated around at the opposite side of the arena. Since the rocks were thrown with less force, most of them didn't even reach the haunter and the few rocks that did reach him were evaded.
Shiori only stared at the pained onix. If roles were reversed, she would have called back the giant snake by now. Her heart ached at the wails. Shiori wanted the battle to end but it wasn't her call, it wasn't her pokemon. She knew then that she wasn't going to use the curse attack again in a battle unless she absolutely had to. Shiori concentrated on Ciardha's presence. She sighed a bit in relief; he still moved fine, a little slower but that was to be expected with the damage he accumulated in the battle. She was sure that even in his state, the haunter can avoid the opponent's rock attacks. Also with him being invisible, Onix doesn't have a visual target for his attacks, especially with Ciardha so far away, Shiori thought.

"Thank you for the battle," Shiori received her badge and the TM. She showed the badge to Ciardha, who appeared by her side, "That was a great battle Ciardha, you got us this. Now lets get you to the pokemon center." Shiori recalled her haunter into his pokeball and put the badge on her belt. It glisened as she walked over to Ellie at T. "Hey guys, I couldn't find you in the city or the pokemon center so I decided to challenge Brock," Shiori said, her cheeks were turning red and her voice small.

"Wow, it's ok. Did you see that?! Ciardha was all like-" she stuck out her tongue in imitation of the Haunter. "laaaa! and the Onix was all like BWaaaaaa!" she wormed around Shiori's feet, continuing on with a strange interpretation of the battle..

Ellie smiled. "I just got her from my sister. Shiori, meet Kalea. Kalea, this is Shiroi." "Psy!" greeted Kalea.

Brock who was sitting down on a rock looking at Onix's pokeball worried while the group was talking, just perked his head up. Another challenge? "Oh, yes okay. Whenever your ready we can start, I just need to heal Onix first."

Brock had retreated into one of the darker areas the gym, he was runnaging through something. He picked up an items and applied it to the Onix, then returned to the battled field. "So who will you use, I obviously will use Onix."

Shiori just tilted her head, I thought T was the one who challenged Brock first... She looked down at the blue pokeball in her hand. "T, Ellie, I'm going to go to the pokemon center real quick. I want to heal Ciardha," Shiori might miss part of the match, or all of it since Ellie was using her psyduck, but she was really worried about her haunter. Smiling at both of her friends she left the gym and hurried to the pokemon center.
