Aoi no Mizu made a good point religion is to help teach the morals of man kind and every religion in the world has a mix of good officals and corrupt ones. And if you look very closly at all of the religions in the world they all have the same foundamental beliefs that god or gods created the earth and all of its being and humans were shaped like god to show that we are his children. But from there religion takes on its own life.
Ex.
Chritanity(all a whole) Jesus died for the sins of man
Hinduism (well can't say I know it but look it up at wikipedia)
Confusism: be kind and show respect to your wife, your husband and to everyone.
(Look all the known religions and see what their teachings are.)
And like everone said before it not the belief but the people who are corrupt form the power they recieve.

There are no fundamental flaws in religion - it's more the fault of organized religion for giving religion a sort of bad wrap.

There is nothing wrong with religion and it doesn't exploit people's ignorance. If you consider a man of science and man of religion both are just as ignorant because they are to rigid to accept another viewpoint and they don't know many mysteries, such as how the world began.

i guess thats what skizio is saying because in a catholics pov god created everything and should not be questioned but to a scientist pov it way the big bang, the the forming of stars and planets the the begining of life and evolution. both always try to prove each other wrong, the most famous case was Galio and the catholic church. when galio said that the sun was the center of our solar system not the earth, the church acually went with for a while until people began to question the church so they locked galio forced him into a fixed trail and forced his to say his findings were all wrong and that the church is always right. aah u gotta love chisitanity the control, manupulation, and the killing of people who aren't christine isn't divine stare

I just wish that it would just stop impeding science's progress. I will respect those who believe in that, but I just wish that people would really view it instead of getting caught up in it. I would really like it if people wen't just brought up in it, but were given the choice to believe in it or not.
there are so many dead just in the name of different religions.
