The general smiled at the last part of Sevilin's introduction of himself. "The Blue Skinned one knows why I am here, but does not know that he knows." The general allowed his face to relax. "Forsaken, we agree upon."

"Parchance, would you be willing to exchange some information, Sevilin Inthara, of a house not of- -any importance here." How little this one knew of what he had done, or how this one knew of it.

"He's in the dark on a lot of things, as I hear it." Oh look a chance to pick at Malik, let's make the day better shall we? Though he was guarded as ever, picking up on things that didn't sit right...his own repeated introduction for example. When it came to listening, it was something Sevilin did closely.

"Information of what sorts?" And for that matter, for what price. Sevilin may not like his current lot too much but he was ever cautious to anyone, especially another drow who talked far too much for his own good. At least he thought so.

Well that wasn't what she really wanted to know. How could she sit there and say he'd never hurt her? Obviously he hurt her on a regular basis if the bruises, scratches and screaming were to be believed. Violet eyes stared unblinking at Piper for several moments as she tried to process this in accordance with everything else she had been told or witnessed firsthand. It was a lot to take in and she silently wondered how she was going to phrase her next question in a way that wouldn't upset Piper or put her on the defensive. "He's never hurt you Piper? Not even in the bedroom? Forgive me but I find that hard to believe. I know firsthand how violent he can be and marking just proves it. Why stay with him if he puts you through such hell? Even love can't be worth that." It certainly wasn't for her. She didn't want anything to do with control, had had plenty of it in her previous life and she'd thought she'd escaped it and all it's tentacles back in Llothian society.

The drow smiled again, "Payment, perhaps an equal share of knowledge. Knowledge that the blue skinned one would kill for, perhaps, or at least, draw the ire of the Spider Queen in acquiring. It is ill-advised to talk to her souls once they are her's, without her permission." I wonder if this one understands the innuendo. "It would be a shame to be here unders someone else's orders." That should clue this one in, if he's as dull witted as Malik.

"Do you know of that which drives the Princeling to madness? Something within the forsaken walls has deeply wounded him... Would you know what?"

"In the bedroom? One time and then never again." And that had hurt for a reason now hand't it? And it was in fact truth...sure her and Malik got rough with each other but he never really hurt her. The bruises she did get were merely induced from the pressure of gripping...though never done to hurt, and she hardly thought Malik sought to put them there on purpose. And yes, sore was different from hurt. "Why would you ask that?" Okay, time to find out what she was skipping around and get right down to what this was all about, every detail and every aspect floating in the drow's head. Sure, she knew it had something to do with earlier, but they both knew that now didn't they? Piper merely wanted her to lay it out there and stop trying to spare her feelings.

And the general more or less lost his attention at the mere mentionings of the Spider Queen. That was one subject that Sevilin would easily go deaf to and be quite happy about it now wouldn't he. When he broke from bonds long tugged at, he had no intention of letting them get slapped back on, be it by underling or Goddess herself.

Though of course knowing something that Malik didn't and would want to know was a pleasing idea in some respects. But he didn't underestimate Malik either on such matters. "Princeling?" Who now?

"Oh, D'vinn does not trust you with all his facts, now does he. I guess you must be hired help, or you would know what I had meant. Malik calls the Princeling either Tarathiel, or Kimmuriel, rarely would he know which to use when." More innuendo.

Zahara sighed, so it was time to get down to brass tacks was it? Alright then, she would. Her gaze moved to Piper's exposed hips, taking in those ugly green, black and blue marks, a few of them clearly the shape of a handprint or fingers. They extended along her arms and her shoulders as well and once again the drow was assaulted with an image of Malik and his cat-scratched back. "If he didn't hurt you there would be no marks. I can see your marks clear as day, Piper." She admitted it to a point, but she still seemed hell bent on defending him. "By Lloth you don't have to suffer that Piper. I know Malik probably tells you he doesn't mean to or that he's sorry but you shouldn't forgive the b*****d. Any man who can do that to a woman who clearly is half his size is not worth his salt in my opinion." Oh she saw it all again clearly, bruised hips, blood flowing onto the sheets from the violence of it all. And the whole time control had been the goal."Please don't ask why I care, I consider you a dear friend and I'm not going to let someone I know and care for go through that without doing something to stop it. It shouldn't b happening, to anyone!" That anger she'd displayed earlier came back and she pounded her fist onto the bed for emphasis.

"Trust is a relative thing, is it not. Perhaps I just do not care to listen." That gained nothing in the way of emotion from one drow to another. Yes he was the hired held so to speak, and he didn't concern himself with such matters as to knowing who and all. Though the name was familiar...a certain piece of surface trash often voiced her dislike of that one.

"Tarathiel, that name I have heard. Often tinged with venom." So then, something in the walls bothered Tarathiel did it. Hm...interesting thing to know. "So then...something in the walls torments this 'Princeling'. I could name a number of things that may aid to that....ranging from surface trash all the way down to this very Underdark."

Piper was at a loss. Zahara was so adamant on this marking thing. Might as well explain it to her, shouldn't she? "Zahara... I'm telling you he doens't hurt me, why can't you believe me? Look at me, I'm fair skinned. More so since twenty years in the Underdark, I show everything easily, even from you." A gesture to the mark where Zahara that gripped rather tightly and yanked. "As for Malik's scratches...well...I...I tend to act out quite the bit...but it's not from trying to fend him off or trying to quell pain. "He never hurts me Zahara, never."

"We agree on the value of non-drow." The general's face relaxed. "Perhaps, you do not know, Perhaps, you know better than you think you know." How trivial this conversation has become, Sevilin would not offer such information as desired so freely, he guards what he says well, definately not a fool. That was good to know, or believe for now. Hopefully this one could defend the keep better than D'vinn, at the very least, keep the vermin outside the walls.

"Do you know what has happened recently, which may not have happened before?"

At least one drow in this damned Underdark shared the opinion on surfae elves. Nice to know they hadn't all gone soft to the devious deceitful creatures. Drow lacking the viciousness. But he kept his demanor to that bored manner...not showing if anything that was being said affected him.

"I know little when it comes to the matters of those here. Merely a knowledge of a lich and the battle that ensued. I try to stray from this place when I can...no need to mix myself into thier likes." Speaking truth? Maybe half heartedly so. He did despise them all to a point. He was just fine with gathering his own information indirectly. "Though I do listen when some think it free to speak without worry."

Though he was careful not to mention that he lacked knowledge on the sheer fact that he was new to the plane. That would be a foolish mistake on his part to divulge that one.

Freebe time for this little soldier. "Yes, we are well aware of the Lich, who appears to have survived D'vinn well enough to waltz into a castle designed to keep out all mere mortals, and take what he wanted without opposition or sign of struggle." Really, the Princeling was useless when it came to understanding such creatures, dealing with them was just as foriegn as Malik was to this plane...

"And, no that did not trouble the Princeling. He may have forseen it from the day he constructed that ill-concieved fortress. Or, maybe he did it on purpose. He did nothing to hide the auras of the magics he used on it, and more or less, made a target of it to any who sought such places or things."

"On top of that, he only brought me here at that time... Hoping to use my Cohorts against D'vinn in an attempt to create an even playing field for them to dule, much against my advice. On top of that, D'vinn ran like a dog with his tail between his legs into his fortress, after more or less ignoring the environment. How strange, to tell someone that they relied to heavily on magic tricks, while standing in a barrier created to destroy such tactics..." The general grinned, "Five wizards created the only oppertunity Malik will ever have at an equal fight with The Princeling, too bad he failed to take the charge. He'd be dead, and this world with him, and the depression which so solumnly befell the Princeling may never have existed... A pity really, I would have enjoyed watching the end of the world from that parapet." He paused. Did this little pawn realies his new role yet? It didn't matter now, nor will it in the near future. Then again, if something continued on the path it has taken, there will be hell to pay, and Jarlaxle did not want to be near that mouth when it opened.

Malik sat brooding in his chair, listening to the harp, and thinking. Kimmuriel's actions simply made little sense to him. why did he bring an army of his siblings, no doubt, to destroy him and his home, adn then not bother. Malik wasn't afraid of Kimmuriel..he just didn't care. Kimmuriel was too chaotic. too unpredicatable to be overly dangerous, yet just enough to warrent attention. a fluttering leaf coudl distract him from a swordfight if it had the right color.

And Zahara and Sevilin. that was going somewhat well...but her trying to subvert Sevilin to act agasint him. If he had not promised Piper otherwise, he'd have strangled her right then and there. And the Oracle, swiped again from the drow prince's grasp this time. which undoubtably ment a furious green dragon, like the last time. that was just great.

But how to plan the moves. how to arrange the chessboard in a more fitting manner to himself. Jiscal had not returned his answer, so he assumed it to be a no. fine. Malik coudl pressure those near him, and those under the influence of his buisness..amazing how many farmers bought his servants for thier field work...and simply undermine Deepwater's long term survival. slowly. over years and decades..but he had that kind of time, didn't he.

But that still left him with dealing with that damned drow prince. Roarke would be of use, and Sevilin as well. He knew about the runes. Piper had told him about them, and he was sure there were plenty of them. he just didn't care. one thing about his little burden..not only could he not openly do things that woudl seriously jepordize his life without a damn good reason...but it left others with fewer options to use against him. after all, how many would really try to kill him knowing his death ment thier death and the deaths of anything and everything that they had any caring about.

What he woudl prefer was an alliance with him. but he wanted it on equal footing, not cowtowing down to him. He'd rather stand alone and fall then think that he was lesser than his 'allies'. Such as last time. Kimmuriel had done his part to try and protect the Oracle, get the kindoms near to be prepared for conflict and ready to align as a force. his job had been to bring the fight to the lich. if he failed to destroy him, he coudl at least bring him out of his lair in force to be faced.

but now, to his knowledge, that time was over. and back they were to the wavering truce. Malik didn't have the force on this plane to do what he would like to do, and simply use force to try and hold his ground. He never did really care for political games. he much prefered the simple kill the ruler and replace him with your own pawn type of thing. This trying to be diplomatic and subtle and secretive with a chaotic borderline lunatic was just annoying and nerveracking.

There had to be some way to bring Kimmuriel to heel. Something to disrupt the faith of others in him, or undermine his status to perhaps draw some of his support away. not to him, but just away. maybe to his sister, or some other sibling that might try to challenge his position. that way he coudl just watch the fireworks.

But for now..all he coudl really do was wait. wait and see how things would play out. see what Kimmuriel woudl find, and see how the drow prince woudl fare. Personally, he though Kimmuriel needed a sound, complete, utter defeat. A little humility never hurt anyone. Certainly hadn't hurt him..or at least he had recovered afterward.

Ebony...ivory...the differences between them were enormous. Her head tilted slightly and she stared at that spot on Piper's arm where a blackish bruise was already forming. She could clearly see her own fingerprints marring her creamy skin and she stood up and walked over, gently touching that spot where she'd bruised her own friend. She hadn't yanked that hard had she? Well, maybe she had, after all she'd been quite upset when the moment had come up and when she got that irritated force tended to be used. But the print was far too small to be Malik's or Sevilin's and when her fingers touched it she knew that it was indeed hers. White brows knitted together and she slowly walked over to the lone window in her room, staring out, all kinds of thoughts running through her mind. If Piper was telling the truth, then Malik didn't hurt her, not purposefully but it was still so hard for Zahara to grasp. The screams, the claw marks, the bruises, it all went along with Zahara's brand of sex. Her brand that wasn't fun and didn't leave you with any hopes of going through it again. "Forgive me, I overreacted." That's all she'd ever say on that subject. Malik would never get an apology and Zahara would never elaborate on why she was so concerned about it. That's it, case closed. She forced a smile, even though she knew Piper woudl probably see through it. "Trying to be more like me in dress today? Should have asked to borrow some of mine, I'm sure Malik has them somewhere since when I woke up this morning, all I had were these..." she gestured to the clothes of the slave still on her body.

"Which is no new news." Not to him and his constant eavesdropping, he was one who liked being informed after all. Which personally pissed Sevilin off as well...sure, it was foolish to assume victory in every battle but do to that whole fiasco, he had gotten banged up, runes even taking vengence on him, and he was saddled with Zahara now. So a battle that caused such a chain reaction, only to be pointless was quite irritating.

"Sometimes one will cause trouble or openly flaunt for the sheer wanting of attention...I wouldn't put such plans beyond anyone." Though a slight raised eyebrow of perhaps little interest. "A level duel with D'Vinn?" To Sevilin...that was nothing more than a petty waste of energy. Sure they were drow...but even they knew the importance of banding together against the greater foe...when that was delt with then you could turn and shove your dagger into the nearest back if you wished, be it comrade or not.

Though Sevilin, ever the logical drow, believed and didn't at the same time on all these words that were openly being told to him. Which in itself was another step towards mutiny against Malik...and that just wasn't in his agenda at the moment, he'd rather not make Malik more of a foe than he was now. "So free with your words and information, to a simple stranger no doubt. And all with no return promise of information. So you think me to run like a good little drow to my employer?" Sevilin's decisions were made with one person in mind. Himself. "Hardly is this everyday talk among passing beings."
