Seconds passed and it seemed as though a pin drop could be heard. Time had frozen and cared out its own space with the two now clutching at each other. Her chest rose and fell, trying in vain to get back the air that had been knocked out of her. Massacring her composure even further, was the simple fact that as her chest took in its gasping breath, it shoved her even more intimately into the hard male chest before her. By this realization, dawning on her mind, her blood froze to ice in her veins. And then in a bizarre and unprecedented move melted and heated. She was effectively trapped although trapped was not the precise word to use, since she couldn't deny the desire to be there. Desire bloomed like a fragrant bloom unfurling in her stomach and causing her to think all manner of sorted thoughts. His hands encircling her upper arms only made her that much more aware of how strong he really was. Like a female in a pack, she was attracted to the one who bore the obvious sign of being the alpha male. And now as she was faced with a horrid decision. She could lift up on her tippy toes and meld their lips together in a show of the fiery storm racing through her or she could release him, her current anchor, step back and flee the scene like a coward. Drow were not cowards. Neither did she consider herself a glutton for punishment. Memories of their previous kiss and the unfortunate turn it had taken berated across her mind. A repeat performance was not at all what she had in mind. What to do? She took another deep breath, released her hold and jerked out of his. Swallowing convulsively, she started at Sevilin for a long moment, every desire, whim, and fantasy etched clearly on her face before her features hardened into the cool mask she usually portrayed. Her eyes darted accusingly between the two men...should she say something? "Drow are drow and that never changes. My eyes do not deceive me and if you think I'm an ignorant fool, you are sorely mistaken." She straightened her shoulders, turned from the group and walked away.

"I can use words anyway I want."
A chuckle, though a grin at seeing that totally weak, vulnerable lustful look on Zahara's face at Sevilin. another nail in the coffin. and a glance at Sevilin and the retreating Zahara. oh he had comments..but he'd bite his tongue this time. let Sevilin sweat it a bit about that look she just gave him. Probably turnign his insides around with the effect that drug was having on his system. even worse if it had reached it's second phase.

He had only snapped back into his own form of reality when she had jerked away from him and he had blinked a few times as if he too had been dazed. Back just in time to see all those things flash across her features before they shifted back to thier regular facade. It twisted him inside in a preverse manner really...the thought of enjoying and loathing that look all at the same time, of fearing it and wanting it none the less. Inside clashed things that never had before, drug influence mixing with long ago formed thinking habits and ideals.
Though she spoke, the words didn't register in his ears, as he only continued to watch her in almost dumbfounded fashion before she walked away. Only then did his fists clench at his side and he practically snarled, red eyes that now burned molten turning on Malik accusingly. It was time that this little matter was addressed.
And as he spoke, the venom and hatred over all of this was clear in his voice, eyes narrowed with that dangerous gleam to them. "What did you do to me D'Vinn?" Said through gritted teeth and with an almost in audible growl and bite to the words.
"Last I checked 'cute' applied in proper manner was not something you did." Though she only sighed again as Zahara had still got it in her head apparently that Malik and Piper weren't on equal terms. Again, Damn it, she was not a pet or a toy for that matter. Though being a woman herself, she knew how hard it was to change a mind once it was made up. Perhaps a long sit down talk like Malik had suggested after all of this. Could help...Though her attention changed focus as Sevilin's rage tinted voice filtered to her ears, drawing her eyes to look over at him...and she wasn't pleased with teh sight at all. Had she been a more skittish elf, she would of shuddered, but this was Piper and she made it a point to not show fear.

He reguarded Sevilin cooly, and still had that smirk.
"Do to you, Sevilin? What are you reffering to? Oh, let me guess. This thing with Zahara. well...Sevilin. it's not my doing at all. it's your own doing. you're out of the Drow cities of Andal, and away from them here. while your concious mind is always full of what happened to you...your subconcious knows better. it knows there there's no priesthood here. there's no woman dominance here."
A small smile, petting over Piper and takign a drink.
"So your subconcious mind wants what you concious mind is afriad off. your body wants things that your mind fears. and Zahara...well we all know Zahara's issue. Want to put those feelings away? want to shelf them? then you have two options. either one, who can stay in your torment till it goes away on it's own...or two..you can do what you know you want to do, that your just afriad of."
Malik's eyes reguarded him with a bit of humor.
"Well...lets say I did do something to you, for the sake of arguement. For what purpose woudl I have? Do you think I woudl purposefully give myself a headache from your paranoia over drow women?

Oh? You really think I'm evil, eh? Well, maybe I should enlighten you a little.
Some of you might think I'm comming off as a little childish, stubborn and silly even. It's alright, I forgive you...to a point. Then I might kill you, depending on how I feel.
Let's start at the begining shall we? Everything was fine in the womb. We got along pretty well. He game me my share of the nutrients, I prommised not to strangle him with the umbilical cord. Fair trade. Then we were bron, and everthing went downhill from there.
BROTHER get's the red hair, which just happens to be the same as our mother. Dear old daddy loves the kid. Me? Black hair and I'm shunned. What did I do? I was born! Then, mother's human form 'dies', dad's in a wreck. Fool didn't even know who she was. So what's he do? Sends me off to live with some crazy new age religion leaders. BROTHER is raised by dear old dad.
So, brother is handed the world on a silver...nay...GOLDEN platter, and I'm stuck having to work my way through the military to gain any sort of recognition. Even with the famouse Blackbowman name, I was in no way compared to my....talented...brother.
Now now, perhaps by this time you're thinking I haven't quite made my point. I look like a rambler don't I? Well, I've had it tough! I'll lay it flat for you. Balance. All things thrive on balance. Brother tipped the scales with all his good and generous, selfish intentions. Then he crowed the gene pool, new blood has trouble making space. I'm just doing my job, I am balancing the scales. I will cleanse this place of my brother, I will fill it with me, and the world will find equilibrium.
I'l kill you all.

Like any under handed drow, he was denying it. Malik must have thought him stupid to tell him it was his own fault and then pose that fact that he 'may have' done something. They both knew that Sevilin knew he did something. Malik just liked to be frustrating. Then again Sevilin could blame himself...he knew better than to take food or drink from someone without investigating it first.
Though the unnerving thought was the logical possibility that Malik...was right. The mind was a maze unto itself and did things that couldn't be controlled, and elven mind even more so. But his own internal mumblings didn't break the facade he was presenting on the outside. And he was outright pissed as well at all of this. Not to mention no drow liked to be called a coward to his face. "You merely confuse fright and being detached." No way was he going to admit he knew fear to Malik. Besides, Malik only knew drow life on second hand knowledge. He after all wasn't really the common drow, just the cousin. "What would you know...you only think you're drow...Tier'dal." How did he know that? Lovely little spy runes.
Part of him wanted to walk over there and knock Malik's head off his shoulders, but Sevilin had always been the passive type, not one to take on an affair that could be avoided in the first place...waste energy on petty causes. Though with his runing abilities he could easily shut down Malik with the right amount of power. "For the sake of argument.... maybe you're own sadistic pleasure? You seem to have a taste for that after all...usless battles, lusting women, surface trash...headaches seem to only be a side effect to your brand of humor."
Okay so she didn't know which was worse...Zahara and Sevilin fighting, Malik and Zahara fighting, or Sevilin and Malik fighting. The two were pretty matched in age and what Sevilin may have lacked in standing up to Malik's battle qualities, he could make up in his runes. Piper knew that one well enough...rune mages were just plain dangerous, facing a Master was asking for trouble. Perhaps both knew better than to go at each other...nothing but a wasteful battle anyway. Though a frown at his comment, there went the surface trash thing again. Him and his distate for surface elves. But she didn't give him the joy of acting on the word other than her frown, merely contenting herself ot sip at her wine and take attention in Malik's touches. Stupid drow.

Onyx sat on the main mast, his thoughts to himself, just watching the water, smelling the scents. Why was he always a shadow. as dark as his fur. Why was he getting darker still, more bestial, while his twin was thriving in a human city. Perhaps he had been wrong to leave and come here. maybe this place was just not supposed to have him in it.
But then thre was Whirlwind. She made him feel like this was a place to be. that he belonged here, becuase she was here. But then the Oracle said the odds of her feeling such about him..well..they weren't great, but they weren't completely bad either. one out of three.
"That's right. I'm a Tier'Dal. the Drow of another plane. but my life was not like yours, I'll grant you that. We didn't have a society domination by perverse women and a goddess of cruelty and pain. and I know fear when I see it. Detachment wouldn't tear you up inside. and while I might find humor in this little situation between you and Zahara...I didn't cause it."
Then a slightly harder look.
"And careful with your insults. You may be a master rune mage, but so is Fianna. and I really doubt you'd want to test your skill to hers for an insult to her daughter. never mind that 'trash' is hardly the word I would use for Piper. hell if you prefer to be simply formal, Lady D'vinn woudl work."

Aella was near the wheel, looking at the compass. They were headed in the right direction, always had been, but she was still a little paranoid about drifting off course. She sigthed and pulled her eyes away as the ship rounded a corner, the Academy looming in the distance.
Was she supposed to shout 'land ho'? Or was that too obvious?
Didn't matter, she suppsed.
"Throw anchor. There's reef here that I don't want to bother risking." Orders were followed, a smaller boat was launched. Aella shouted up to the mainmast. "You comin'?"

"Tear me up inside? Are you claiming to be able to see the inside of souls now? My my you must really be talented there...or is it just the sword." Okay, he was being a b*****d about this all right now and he knew it to...didn't at all like Malik taking him to task over these matters or trying to deny his own involvement. "Fine then...her damnable instincts caused it and you aided it." Nope, he wasn't going to let Malik deny it.
Though here they went again with this insult of the surface trash bit again. But Malik did get a quirked brow at the mention of Fianna...which was followed by that common drow sneer and cruel smirk. He knew all who were rune mages, even if they didn't know he was one. And well Fianna was a queen to boot. "You mean Swiftfeather? Heh...a test of skills would not be the battle...more so the variations. Like drow themselves...we've devised our own twists...and dare to use those runes that can destroy the entirety of the plane."
Yes there was truth to that. Where the surface elves stayed within a certain parameter, the drow had learned to twist the runes themselves into a darker version from the original. Not that Fianna wouldn't give him a run for his money, but she wouldn't take the risks he would. She'd probably back down to prevent him from taking them. Though he'd rather not take that fight either...no one liked to gush blood spontaneously from their ears, nose, mouth, and eyes from rune abuse.
"Trash not the word? Pet more to your liking? Collar and all after all." He knew he was pushing. But his eyes turned pointedly to Piper, watching her a moment as she sat there like a cat at Malik's side. Pet indeed...he was even petting her, how quaint. Snapping his heels together, he gave a low mocking bow to her with sweeping hand motion included. "Well do forgive me, Silverfeather turned D'Vinn. I suppose I should be honored to be in your esteemed prescense....princess of moon and wood after all, an Iaur'Quessir as your kind call it." Posture straightened and he still stared at her with that smirk. "Though I shouldn't be apologizing...should I? Seeing as you think of me just as I think of you..."
Malik was holding back perhaps, though she was thankful for that. One confrontation was enough for the night...though if she knew Sevilin he would only push Malik to the edge but not over, not wanting the fight that Malik would no doubt take up. Be it in his own honor or hers. But to all of his mocking and the like, she kept a bored look to him, barely glancing at him really. Though she smirked then and gave a little chuckle, turning triple colored eyes on Sevilin, making the gold in those eyes flick in almost mocking. "Of course you would know all about being a pet, wouldn't you Inthara? But I suppose you're right...your apologies, false as they may be, mean nothing. Tel'gothrim, Underdark garbage, pet, take your pick. I harbor no like for you in any form, nor do I hold a scant piece of respect, why should I expect the same back?"
He nodded, almost in pleased fashion. "And the child learns."

"Ah, there you are my Prince." The ancient drow general spoke as he looked into the valley beneth him, his right eye covered by his patch, his left tracing the path that the Princeling had walked, and what a path it may have been.
Lavender eyes glowed fiercely with the hatred of his race, the foundation of religions and the cause of much malice. His cloak was torn in many places, appearing much like a blanket tossed over his shoulders to protect him from the wind. His feet left a trail, unnoticed to most eyes, but heavy to a drow trained to look for such things. His feet were heavy, his body swayed gently, his arms extended, his blades out, the left scimitar crackling with electical energy.
"My, my, my, what has you worked up so much my boy?" Jarlaxle asked the elf who could not hear the words, should they even be spoken beside him.
Around the bend came a giant with grey skin, twenty feet of rock hard skin, and muscles to match. The creature roared in a thounderous voice, and poised his arms high above his head.
"Hunting Ork-kin?" The general frowned, this did not bode well.
The drow glanced at the much larger oppenent, and shifted his stance. His left leg slide to the right, and his right hand swung behind his body. He merely smirked. The giant charged the small creature...
"Foolish Child."
Within a blink, the giant tumbled to the ground, his bowls opened to the carrion crawlers lurking about the dark. The drow continued on his hunt.
"Where are you going?" The drow pondered, and glanced about himself. A scout was nearby, "Signal the others, we must retreat for now."

Malik watched them both with a hint of amusement. it was funny to see them act like that, but he kept he calm about it. Lightly keeping Piper close and smirking at Sevilin.
"How about this. while you may not respect whom she is, you should respect what she is. being that she is my fiance'...she's also your employer. and I do take her opinions at face value."
though a bit of 'go away, you bother me' wave to Sevilin.
"Isn't your break time over? shouldn't you be going to play with the young woman in the see through clothing that you have a hidden desire for that frightens you?"
Yes, Malik could push too.
"Call it what you will. it's fear. plain and simple. As for my ability to read souls...I don't need to. I can read minds...and minds reveal emotions. those ones that are turning knots in your gut."
Down the mast jumping from rigging the to crossbeams and further down in sleek, almost practiced movements. the natural feline agility of a panther going down a tree, landing softly, barely a sound, next to her.
"Of course I'm coming. think I woudl leave you alone in teh hands of elves?"

She shrugged. "They are my half kin. I'm sure I'd be fine with them."
In the boat and off to shore. It wasn't a great distance to land, but from there it was about half a mile's walk to the Academy grounds. Aella was fairly certain, from what she had been told, that Roarke would already know they were there, and disarm any protective magic tricks set up around the building.
"Perhaps I will enquire if Roarke can handle having that woman and her child as house guests. Her strange illness cleared fairly quickly, but she cn't remeber where she lives, or how she got near the castle."

The urge to grab a slave and get rid of the tension coiled inside her was a temptation she was ready to give into. Slaves were simple, they took what you gave them and nothing else. She wouldn't have to worry about anything where they were concerned...except the actual act itself. Knowing better, knowing what would happen when it came down to that precise moment and the reaction she would have made her want to scream. How could this still be affecting her to this magnitude? Walking away from them had been the wisest course of action as the mood she was in currently could well have lent to a disaster of magnanimous proportions. She wasn't letting them win, no one was going to win in this, but she had to deal with the tempest building inside her. She had to face her demons once and for all. Perhaps her nature wasn't' such a bad thing, perhaps it was the key to overcoming. Scoffing at the way her own mind was going, she continued her hurried walk. Anger brought her to the brink and she whipped out her blades and threw one then the other into the tree a hundred yards away. They embedded themselves to the hilt and she sighed, "Why, Lloth, why?" Cruelty had never been her forte, torture was not her pastime, yet she had always been around it, grown up in it, and it seemed to still follow her. It was torture, plain and simple to be forced into continued contact with a male who despised her. And now she'd learned the truth about Piper as well. Previous conversations that had once given her the emotion that humans claimed as hope meant nothing. Men were all the same and she was a fool for thinking any different, for believing that just for a minute such a thing as love might exist. It was all dominance, all control, all the need to be above and better than another person, to bend and break them to your indomitable will. Bondage in it's many forms made this world and she had been a fool to think she could escape it's chains.
She removed her daggers from the tree with difficulty and replaced them where they belonged. Although it probably seemed strange, she still wore her sheaths right where they always were, it felt odd to not have the familiar brush of leather against her skin, instead it was silk. Leather she could handle, silk was going to kill her. Roaming the Underdark was dangerous and she finally made her way back home, walking in and glancing at the three who apparently hadn't moved. "An hour was all you gave, an hour was all I took." Shrugging she moved back to the dining room and went back to studying as though it was just an ordinary day.

Take her opinions at face value? Sure...that was a laugh. He knew that she wanted him gone more than anything else, yet he was still here under their employment wasn't he? Sevilin knew that Malik would always cast last commandment on the issue of himself.
Though another one of those looks and frowns to Malik as he pushed right back. It was like being sword crossed with each pushing the other back in sand, gained two steps, lost three. "But minds are so fickle things, what's here today is easily gone tomorrow." But his attention did waver to Zahara a moment as she came back in and went back to the dining room past him, going back to her studies as if nothing happened. Wasn't it great to be a drow? So easy to turn a blind eye on things. Stay focused.
Back to Malik though. "But yes, I do have teachings to attend to. And you might as well get my pay ready. I collet tomorrow." Once a week, and Sevilin was prompt as ever on remembering the subject. That his last word to the couple, he turned and walked back into the room, picking Nym up off the table in his passing before once more taking a seat across from Zahara at other end of the table."
Piper gave a little chuckle. "Oh but wasn't that fun now?" Indeed, she was quite proud of herself. Instead of getting angry with him she merely stayed level and gave back to him what he had given to her. Felt good to be the one to not step down but stand ground for a change. Stupid stupid drow....okay she was enjoying that Malik had put him out of sorts too. THough still unhappy that he had done it to Zahara as well...and if the drow ever found out...oh Piper loathed to think about that possibility.

"It will be ready."
Thena smile at Piper after Sevilin went to entertain Zahara and get back to lessons.
"I didn't think you found fun in that sort of thing."
A little chuckle about her before questioning him on the use of the word 'cute', though another glance at teh harp girl who was still playing and pretending liek she's never heard a word, and back to picking up a few more grapes, and an orange slice.
"Two days. I'll wager two days and someone in that other room with sucumb. be it her or him."
