Falan had heard about these scream bars and was fairly sure they were the opposite of a treat. Regardless, he would eat it at home.
Runaldi didn't know what this was, but it was definitely gross and she was gonna ask her father to wash it out when they got home. She was fine with most gross things, but not this time!
There....was a tooth....in his pail.....Hitotsu was already unsure about this holiday, but ending up with a tooth was almost too much! His sister didn't deserve to be subjected to this!
It was red, it looked weird and it was squishy. Shisume reasoned it was probably food, but she played with it anyway and giggled. She didn't notice her brother look at her in surprise, and then the anger building in him soften when he decided that if this could make his sister laugh, it was worth it.
Aurelia smiled at the plushie and put it into her bucket before she started digging into her meal, looking over at Meadow as he expressed his irritation or surprise about being given candy when not asked. She chuckled a bit and shook her head. "Some people are just nice or generous and give without being asked." She reasoned as she thought about the randomness of things being given out during the festival. Almost as if on cue a rather bored-looking chimera was passing around small bags of candy (which looked rather old, to be honest) that were tied to various plushies. They sighed and dropped one near Aurelia. "Here, Happy Haunted Hallows and whatever." They said with a blase voice as they moved on. The candy was dubious but the plushie was adorable.
Lural
Iolanthe saw someone giving those glow necklaces she was seeing everywhere and knew she couldn't pass up the opportunity. She skipped over and took one, putting on her neck with a giggle. She liked the color.
Kohaku had gotten up with the pumpka floating beside them; apparently they now had a new companion that had taken a shine to them. They didn't mind at all. They were walking back towards the festival when a very bored-looking chimera came by handing out toys attached to bags of candy. They sighed and gave one to Kohaku, who looked at the candy suspiciously before smiling at the bat plushie. "You're rather cute."
Chidori was resisting the urge to dig into the bags of candy that were sitting in her bucket. She had never had sweets like this in the village and now that she had a taste, she wanted more. Still, good things came to those who waited.....and if she managed to resist temptation it would mean she'd have more candy to enjoy over time. She had finished her cotton candy and tossed away the paper stick it was on, sighing rather sadly....until she was handed a lollipop! She looked at it curiously, the colors a little strange but once she licked it just to taste, she realized it was delicious!
“It looks like it was being used as a decoration. Pumpka are good for coming alive and scaring people. So it was probably lonely. When it saw the wisp with Ren and all of the other familiars. Well familars go for the nightmare they think fits them best."There was a pause where vanna looked over at the now somewhat subdued and happy pumpka. Familiars some times were just so much nicer to deal with than people.
"As for apples, well maybe a regular outfit, don’t think sugar is good for a revenant but then again revenants are tricky things. I can call up a friend….” Vanna replied… although he wasn’t sure how much of revenant raising Hades actually remembered. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mai smiled seeing as everything was working out. The pumpka was happy, their familiars were having fun and calming down and those that wanted hugs got hugs. Maybe that was the real reason that Mai liked festivals is that the familiars all got to go to happy homes. She looked over at the small horde she had collected tonight and wondered at the rate they were going if they were possibly going to end up with more. Ah well the important part was that everyone remained happy. ------------------------------------------- Ren looked up at everyone still holding his newest familiar. He had finally caught his breath back. Vanna had some good points. Ren would have been lonely too if all they were used for was to scare people. Besides everything was over with anyways. Kingston had a silly new friend and the little guy in his arms was happy. "So what adventure is next?" Ren asked in a teasing manner. -------------------------------------------------------------- “And so modest too” Salem stated crossing his arms. He did briefly rub his throat a bit. The only problem with being out for soo long was that his voice was deeper than Samhain’s and it often eventually started causing his voice box irritation. “Yeah it is really soft looking. Feels really soft too. Samhain should like it and if he doesn’t well kids are probably in the future…”
“House of mirrors would be interesting. After the Forbidden forest and the rest of my life made it more scary than a Haunted house. I can go through one though if you really want to see one” weirdly enough though a plushie just kind of fell from the sky. What.... is this?
She watched Salem rub his throat and cross his arms. She wondered if he was ok, but based on what she knew of him so far, he would insist he was, even if something was wrong. "I never thought a house of mirrors as scary." How had the forest made mirrors scary? "We don't have to. I was simply suggesting something else we could do." She could suggest shopping, but given what Salem had said before, he didn't like shopping that much. "I think there's a costume contest. We could check that out." She gestured off to where she was fairly sure it was being held, and someone plopped a plushie holding a box of raisins into her hand. "...It's so pink." she liked it.
Kingston:
"Don't worry about it, Vanna." Kingston laughed. "I have a couple books back in my room about revenants. I have another one waiting for me, and I didn't know what I was doing, so I researched. I just don't remember a lick of what they like to eat." He put a hand on his friend's shoulder.
At Ren's question, Kingston's ears perked up and he laughed. "Isn't there a dance? We could check that out. Or would you like to play some games? I see some shooting games and dart games over there." He pointed. "Mai, you seem fairly quiet. What would you like to do?" He turned and looked at her, but as he moved his foot, he kicked over something. It looked like a crystall ball. "Oh crystal ball, what should we do next?" He laughed.
Vega:
This looked like an easy game. There was a large drum that you spun, and a colored ball would dictate what prize you got. Vega gave it a whirl, and it must have been his lucky day! 2 colorful balls fell out and he was given a little bunny keychain and a plush bat. They were so cute!
Meadow:
Meadow looked at the plushie that was given to Aurelia. "I think they must have a lot of plushies to be giving them out like that." He said as something came rolling down the table. "...is that a glass ball?" He stopped it before it ran into his plate. "Hey hey! Betcha this is like a magic ball and we could see the future or something!"
Charon:
Charon decided maybe it was time for some real food. As he was heading towards the cafeteria, someone called out 'INCOMING!' and before he knew it, he was dodging a plushie that was tied to a rock. Ok, he could understand throwing a rock, even though he didn't condone it. And he could understand throwing plushies, because what the hell? This was a party. But why tie them together?
Keahi:
While wandering around, Keahi was looking up at the stars, and almost didn't see the pumpka. They stumbled and the pumpka threw something at them. Was that a box of raisins? They scowled at the pumpka and picked it up, staring at it. The pumpka extended one of it's vines and touched Keahi's face.
... Ok they were keeping it.
Parfait:
It may have been worrisome that Parfait was so easily amused, but at this festival, maybe it was a good thing. She found a cracked ball of glass, or was it crystal? She didn't know, but it was cool!
Fiona:
Fiona looked around. She found a little keychain hanging on a bush and picked it up. How cute! Fiona placed it in her bucket, then noticed there as a strange plushie in there. WHEEE!
Travesty felt a clunk in his bucket and held up the bat plushie for his sister to inspect.
Facade blinked, pulling her own bat plushie out of her bucket and looked at both of them. They were different colors, but it still made her happy that both of them ended up getting one!
Banshee tilted her head back to make sure their mother was still following them. She lifted one of the duckies out of the pond and the attendant pushed a cute plushie into her arms in exchange.
Taboo was kind of jealous that Banshee got a plushie, but he did get some really good candies!
Rina really wasn't sure what this stuff was supposed to be. It looked a little like blood, but it seemed... too thick? Whatever it was, it was kind of grossing her out.
Korr pulled up a little ghost from the prizes that were being offered. He nodded, placing it in his bucket and thanked the attendant before moving on to the next line.
Cass smiled at the cool little bat plush, stuffing it carefully into his bucket. He was really making out with the plushies!
A cute little ghost! How nice! Arari smiled happily before putting it away so it wouldn't get broken.
Walking up to the next booth, Hiroshi smiled when a lolli was dropped into his bucket. He smiled at the girl before moving on.
Aramina was a bit surprised when she won the grand prize at one of the booths. She was handed a very fluffy and adorable fennekit! She almost squealed, hugging the little thing close to her chest.
Lilium didn't venture far from Zynas, she was feeling very vulnerable this out in the open. When someone dropped a bracelet into her bucket she nearly jumped out of her skin.
Zynas couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. "You know, it's fine." He stated, patting her on the back. Man, she was a piece of work, what had they done to her there? He shelled out a few coins for a candied apple, he figured he could share it with her, maybe it'd make her feel better?
Ashai was happy with her cute little fennekit following behind. For once, she had actually seemed to ease up a little bit. At the next booth she got some candied skulls.
Lasia smiled, holding onto Ashai's hand so she wouldn't lose her. She knew her parents weren't the best in the world, but she was sure she'd get an ear full if Isabelle found out she had lost her daughter.
Affinity held up his bucket at the next booth. He tilted his head, looking in to see a striped bat candy. He thanked the person before wandering off for the next one.
It seemed like Basil was on a roll! Right after getting a rock familiar he somehow got a fennekit too! It was pretty cute with it's vine-like markings. They hoped their parents would approve!
Apollo thought all those glowing necklaces were pretty cool. So when they found a table that was handing them out, he immediately got in line, hoping he'd be able to nab one!
The next line handed Talus a chocolate bar. He put it into his bucket, trying to tell himself to wait to eat it until later.
Caol was handed a pumpkin bracelet. He just knew Ayida would be jealous of it!
Atoris was pretty excited when he won a plushie! It was a cute little spider plushie that he had seen advertised in several booths. He was happy to finally get one!
Frit was delighted to be running amok, her little wings flapping in the breeze as she raced ahead to the nearest house, proudly holding up her bucket for a goodie. When no one answered the door, she shrugged it off, nothing could kill her mood! She turned to leave and spotted a box sitting next to the door, labelled "Take Some". She peered closer and spotted a slew of stuffed and wooden creatures, but settled on a bright pink cat and... that one in the back was weird, but it's weirdness was adorable. Maybe she could give it to her friend? She stuffed that into her bucket too. After all, the sign didn't say just one, right?
Muridae: 7 Trick!
Muridae had been holed up in her small apartment. She heard kids yelling, adults laughing loudly, and all sorts of other noises that made her peek her head out the 4th story window. It took a lot to get Muridae to leave her humble abode, and curiosity was a major factor in that. The girl's tail flicked back and forth, watching from afar. Apparently people were going up to other's doors, and receiving candy. The Idea seemed both delightful and a little too abrasive for the girl's tastes, but as she saw another nightmare walk away with the most beautiful lollipop, she braced herself and went up to the door. Before the girl could get there a group of wild kids ran past, making the rather clumsy nightmare trip and fall into the grass. As Muridae lay there, mortified at what had happened, she saw a small creature squeak in fright as the kids came its way. Muridae felt the rush of needing to save small cute things, and ran up to the critter, carrying it and a locket around its neck away into her safe apartment.
Stachys: 29 Treat!
Stachys smiled he was awake and he wasn't drumming it was a special occasion indeed, but looking around at all the other freshlings running around getting treats and tricks. It looked like a really fun time, so Stachys dressed up as a flitterrat and pretended to flap his little wings. Stachys smiled and grabbed a treat bucket and headed to his first stop to see if he would get a trick or treat. Stachys smiled as he went up and said "Trick or treat!!" His smiled was his normal laid back calm, when he picked up a bag of skull candies. "Thank you." Stachys said nicely.
Eudica: 9 Trick! Plushie!
Eudica was really curious about this trick or treating festival she had never been to anything like this in her hometown. Things were so different, it was all rather shocking. Eudica still wanted to know more about all this stuff, she was shell shocked by all the activity, but at the same time, she was excited and ready to learn everything she could about this festival. Eudica walked over to the booth giving out lanterns she picked up one holding it down by her side. As she walked around looking at all the booths. Trying to decide what she wanted to do next. She let out a loud epp when she pulled an eyeball out of the bucket she reached her paw into. Shocked that she had pulled something so spooky out of the bucket. This was a very strange festival. She felt only a little better when she realized it wasn't a real eye, but it sure had scared her. The booth attendant chuckled and handed her a treat as well.
Abrus: 18 Treat!
In spite of the fact that he knew he should be studying, Abrus couldn't resist the siren song of the Haunted Hallows. Running from his room, he'd thrown himself at the game booths. And for his trouble, he'd won a chocolate bar. It was resting inside of the pail he'd been given and he'd for sure eat it later. But first. Games. All the games.
The next booth handed Cerris a lollipop that reminded him of skeletons! This made him pretty happy and he was sure it tasted good too!
Kohra had decided to set up a booth where he could hand out candies to children. However, when he got there someone insisted he grab a bucket. A little odd, but he took it anyway.
This was the first time Keone had decided to attend an Event on the Academy grounds. He was pretty surprised when the first game he played ended up with him getting a familiar!
Malloe had ended up winning a bag of candy corn! He was definitely going to share this with his mother.
