"Well... no... you see..." Loki searched for a way to explain. "...that would be me," she said. "As a shapeshifter, I can do what you've described. Jarod's father was not a shapeshifter, and so Jarod, as a hybrid, seems to have only partially inherited my abilities. He can take many different human forms, but doesn't seem to be able to take the form of other species."
Loki stopped to take a breath. "But you do have a point. I've thought about the fact that he's still young, and I don't know how or if his skills will change as he grows. I've tried to predict how he would change over the past few years, and I've been wrong a lot of the time. For all I know he'll be a better shifter than myself when he's grown up." Loki shrugged and smiled. "I don't like to push him though. He already tries to do as much as he can, although lately he's been focused on a... different kind of skill..."
Loki stopped and laughed at her realization.
"You said he only needed to look like a dragon, but wouldn't need fire. I think it's going to end up being the other way around. He can't make himself look like a dragon, but he actually can do a bit with fire, and he's been wanting a teacher."

(( Yup, as explained above, Loki could take the shape of a dragon and other species, but Jarod can't go that far, physically. ^.^ What was meant with the "human disguise" thing is just that Loki's met dragons who had human forms, which they used as disguises to hide or live among humans. ))

"Jarod can play with fire?" Plushy asked. "Plushy might not be the best teacher there, though dragon fire can be played with, Plushy has not learned how. Plushy dose know a dragon who could teach him fire, he is Jorden, a blue dragon wizard, he can play with fire well. Plushy could take him for fire lessons, and have him back here in time for dinner." ((my occ, read please.))
((so, you say jarod has met a dragon soul, and can shift into their human form.... dosn't do much, dragons souls look like humans when in human form...))
((OOPS! Sorry about the Robert thing. I fixed that. I have a novel that uses Robert as a character, and I was working on that prior to replying. I apologize ahead of time if it happens again! Ha. Oh, and last I knew, it is only Plushy’s head and tail that are poking in through the intentionally large window! He would not fully fit into the library’s home area. It is made to accommodate people, not dragons.))

Rodger blinked in surprise as Jarod answered with his age, pits and pieces of the conversation between Loki and Plushy floating into the kitchen.
“Interesting indeed!” Rodger said as Jarod finished his explanation, the child standing on his tiptoes to watch him fill the cup.
He turned the faucet off and laughed as Jarod returned his question.
“I’m a hundred-ninety-six,” he answered, grinning at the boy. “Vanessa and I age slower. I’m the eldest by about a year,” he added, striding over to the silver refrigerator and opening the upper half of the contraption. “It was a pain,” he continued, grabbing a can of Dr. Pepper from one of the shelves on the inside of the door, “when we looked five, but were old enough to have graduated from human’s high school!”
He closed the refrigerator door and returned to the sink, popping the top of the can open and looking to Jarod with a mischievous grin. “I loved messing with people, though. I got in trouble time and time again.” He took a swig of his soda. “Where are you and your mom from?” Rodger glanced at Loki beyond the kitchen's archway.

Plushy
Plushy hear Rodger comment, “I loved messing with people, though. I got in trouble time and time again.” so true, Plushy thought, he had yell at Rodger many times to be nice to the humans, and now he had to yell at him for feeding a shapeshifty a banana, after he got the shapeshifty away form Rodger, he need not yell at him, Jarod was new here. (my occ, for blissful)
((scath is right, only plushy's head and his very long tail are through the window, the end of his tail is still wraped around jarod's belly.))
Noci's smile faded as she turned to continue down the stone steps, slightly crack and worn from age and exposure. The Hanucini stared at each step as she descended, she felt much like the stone herself, worn down and beaten over countless days but never moving from her place. 'No!' A voice screamed in her head, her voice, the one voice she could never ignore. She had to keep moving, no matter what she had to do, she had made a promise, the same promise Willow had made. To save the one she had lost.
' "Heey! Cut it out Simon!" "I'm telling you, it looks like you!" "Does not, it looks like a bunny." The young man burst into laughter "Then it's the weirdest damn bunny i've ever seen!" "Hey!" The young silver haired women shoved Simon, a man about her age onto the floor before collapsing next to him in a bed of silver and fresh grass. It was still early spring, the golden sun perched in its rightful place in the sky, one with the correct knowledge would be able to look up and tell that the day was still young, the hill the siblings lay upon had begun to bloom those small white daisies that children found perfect for creating pretty chains out of. A few old oaks sat dotted around the bottom of the hill, the largest sat next to a rather large farmhouse just outside of the rest of the trees. The sky was clear if but for a number of clean white clouds.
"Alright then, hooooww aboouut....That one...yeah...That one" The women said as she pointed at a rather messy and misshapen cloud just to the left of the last one. Simon seemed to contemplate for a moment "Oh defiantly you in the morning" he burst out in a half laugh before resorting to full on bouts of laughter at The girls angered expression.
They both ended up in a fit of giggles andit took them almost five minutes to calm down enough to talk again. The girl sighed as she lay back down again amongst the flowers, "I'm really gonna miss this, do you really have to sign on with them? You might be gone for weeks, maybe even months!" "Well..." Simon went silent with thought for a brief moment. "Why not come too? You already have the experience you need." He looked at her with pleading eyes "Well? Come on Noci, just think about it, you and me, traveling again!" "Wow, you haven't called me that since i was a kid, you must be serious". "Well Nociyakahama is a mouthful, besides" he prodded her in the side causing her to convulse into a fit of giggles, "your still my kid sister". "Yeah, your 'kid' sister who's getting married in june!" Simon chuckled to himself "Oooh riiight, to that George guy-" "George Saberhual!" "Yeah, that one, wow, it's really been four years since you met him huh" "Tell me about it. I still can believe he said yes, but...Hmm" Noci sat upright with her forefinger on her chin. "What is it?" Simon asked, sitting up and hugging his knees gently. "I do have till june, and it's only for basic security right....Yeah..Yeah okay i'll come too, it really would be like old times". "Great, let's head on back, Sister Jane is making stew pot".
Sister Jane had the door open before the siblings could knock, standing there with a half relieved and tired expression, the middle aged nun stared at the two for a moment, although Noci guessed it was the grass stains all over their white dress ad shirt that she was staring at. "It seems me and the wash basin have another long night ahead of us, I do wish you would wear your out clothes when you go for a play in the woods, that is after all what they are there for" she had made this same suggestion to Simon and Noci several times before but the two seemed adamant to ruin any and all of the nice clothes she made for them, "Since your already dirty there's no point in changing till after dinner, come sit", the tired women gestured to the dining room as she went into the kitchen, most likely to collect their meals. "Let's pack after dinner, we can leave in the morning"
Shaking her head slightly Noci looked back at Karinda "Let's go then, to the library".
((We can time skip to the library if you like, also, this post isnt finished but ill just post the rest of the flashback some other time, we can continue without it for now.))

Loki smiled, thinking of Jarod's earlier conversation with Vanessa. "Yes, he can. It isn't much at the moment, but he's proud of it and is eager to learn." Her smile quieted a bit at the mention of Jarod going off to meet another dragon. "Er... well, we'd have to wait and see if Jarod would be comfortable with it." Loki wasn't really sure if she was entirely comfortable with it. "I... Jarod and I haven't spent much time apart, and when we are apart it isn't a very long distance. And I would like to meet Jorden myself as well, of course." Loki brightened up again. She could hear her son's voice from the kitchen, and it brought her some comfort. A hundred and ninety six? Jarod looked at the man in front of him in disbelief. He didn't look that old. But then, Jarod didn't really look three... Taking his cup of water from the counter, Jarod decided to believe him.
"So... you and Vanessa grew up in the opposite way of - I mean -" Jarod stopped and shook his head to himself. That didn't sound right. Stop, rewind. "The way you and Vanessa grew up was sort of the opposite of the way I'm growing," he continued. "I never thought of someone growing that way. That's a really long time..."
Jarod mirrored Rodger's grin at the mention of mischief. A-ha. His earlier guess had been right. He could almost see a younger Rodger getting into trouble.
He watched Rodger drink his Dr. Pepper. Jarod liked soda, but the fizzies bothered his mouth sometimes when the drink was too cold. He took mental note of Rodger's glance into the other room. Having heard his question many times before, he didn't really have to think about it. "We're not from anywhere," he began with a grin. "We travel around a lot, so when we go somewhere new, we always come from somewhere different. We never stay in one place very long. My mom said we probably never would until we found the Defenders, but…we found you. So maybe now we’ll stay.” Watching Rodger drink his soda reminded him of his water, but he wouldn't drink, not yet.
“But she has told me that she did live in just one place when she was little, but then something ‘unfortunate’ happened. And she said that was when she started moving around.” Jarod looked off to one side, seemingly at the counter. “She always gets a little sad when she talks about it," he stated, not sounding too cheerful himself. "But I always make sure to make her feel better."
He looked down finally into the glass of water in his hands, gave its contents a sniff, and brought it closer to his mouth, but he paused before he could drink. There was a red... something around his waist. That was odd, he couldn't recall putting on any red clothing when he changed into his current appearance. He lifted the glass to drink, and followed the red with his eyes. They grew wide as his gaze reached the kitchen doorway. Suddenly he was choking on water and clinging to Rodger's leg with his right arm, trying frantically to squirm out of Plushy's tail. He held the glass firmly in his left hand, but a good amount of water had spilled because of his sudden movements.
"I... Jarod and I haven't spent much time apart, and when we are apart it isn't a very long distance. And I would like to meet Jorden myself as well, of course."
Plushy answered, "That might be a problem, Jorden might not want to meet you... unless you could shapeshift into a boy... you see, he dosn't like girls any..."
Plushy was distracted some by Jarod's squirming, Plushy snugged the loop up some to keep his tail wraped around Jarod. "Is every thing all right in there?" Plushy said, looking at the kitchen door. ((my occ, for blissful and scath))

Sorry, Bliss! I thought I had put that Rodger handed the water to Jarod. Thank you for catching that and going along with it!
Me know it all, prepare for an explanation. Ha. So, to make that last sentence correct, you would either need a linking word, or to change the suffix of "look." 1) “Plushy said as he looked at the kitchen door.” The “as he” tells that Plushy looked to the door while he spoke, and links both actions. There are other words that could be used to link the two actions, depending on preference and what you wanted to get across. I personally think that "as he" works best, if both actions were done simultaneously. 2) “Plushy said, looking to the kitchen door.” In this instance, the suffix “-ing” makes “look” a modifying verb. The “said” is past tense, so that tells that it happened in the past, while “looking” tells of what Plushy was doing while he spoke, modifying “Plushy said.”
Does that make sense to you?

”You’ve got it!” Rodger confirmed as Jarod compared their growth rates. “It’s been a good run. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!”
Rodger leaned against the counter, his free arm resting atop the white surface as Jarod explained his travels.
“That’s nice of you,” he said as the boy finished. He ruffled Jarod’s hair as he continued. “You’re a good son to do that.”
Rodger blinked in surprise and took a startled half-step back as Jarod panicked and clung to his leg. “Whoa, whoa! Take it easy!” He placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder as Jarod began to squirm in an attempt to release himself from Plushy’s grip.
Rodger glanced up as Plushy’s tail tightened, his mouth opening to speak as Plushy called to them.
“Release him, Plush!” Rodger called back. “He’s freaking out because of your tail. Not everyone’s used to someone with that tail length, let alone having it wrapped around them!”
A gentle chime sounded through the room, and Rodger sighed.
“I have to go check that out. Someone just came in, and the closed sign is out. I’ll be back, but I promise he,” he jerked his head in Plushy’s direction, “won’t hurt you.”
With a backwords glance at Jarod as he passed through the open doorway, Rodger went to the door leading from the living quarters.
“I’ll be back,” he told Loki as he opened the door and cast her a friendly smile. “I shouldn’t be long, but make yourselves at home.”
Rodger hurried through the door and down the stairs beyond, the enchanted door closing and locking behind him.
Karinda and Noci--Time Skip Karinda strode to the library’s entrance, the “closed” sign staring at her as she ignored it and opened the door.
She paused for a moment as she entered, her muscles relaxing a fraction at the familiar musty scent of books.
“I wonder where Vanessa is,” she muttered as Saiirin sniffed at the air from the girl’s shoulder.
Mayhap the back room. Saiirin offered.
“Here we are.” Karinda turned and smiled at Noci. “The library!” she spread her hands to her sides, her sword spreading out from her right hand as she gestured to the rows upon rows of books on either side of the circular portion of the room cleared of books.
“Can I help you?” a voice called from behind her, making her jump and turn, her sword raised in front of her.
With his arms crossed over his chest, Rodger looked her over quickly, his eyes falling to small dragon.
“Ah, you must be Karinda,” he said, a small smile twisting his mouth. “Vanessa went to find you. I’m her brother, Rodger.” He closed the distance between them and held out his hand.
Karinda hesitated a moment. Switching her sword to her left hand, she placed the tip on the ground and shook Rodger’s hand. “Aye, and this is Saiirin.” Karinda gestured to the dragon with a slight nod of her head.
“It’s a pleasure. I’ve heard a bit about you two.” Rodger’s attention turned to Noci. “Well, perhaps you three.” He chuckled, his face lighting up as his eyes stare into Noci’s strange irises. “You’re the hanucani, I presume?”
Plushy look at the clock above the door, he was going to be late for his meeting with the humans, Plushy swing his tail dropping Jarod on the floor, Plushy left the library in a run down red street, he then notice his tail is empty of banana eatting shapeshifty, no time to worry about that now, plushy run down pink street, took a few sharp turns, and burst into the meeting. "The Plushy is here, we may begin..." said Oily, the human who runs these meetings. ((my occ, read.))
