Aleron glanced at the two sleeping girls to be sure they were, indeed, sleeping. Muting his comm-link, he looked back to Miya, that serious sort of face he had on back in his lab on. "Do you remember what I had said about cell regeneration without scaring using roots as veins and vines to excellerate the growth?" he asked as he went and found a syringe, heading back to them.

Miya's gaze followed him, carefully taking note of what he was doing. The fact that he'd muted his comm. link prompted her to do likewise, knowing that someone as commanding as Aleron must have a good reason to turn off his only way of knowing what was going on with the others. "Of course I remember. It's not exactly something that's easy to forget..." her voice trailed off as she kept her eyes on that syringe, wondering what he was up to.

Aleron stuck the syringe into the vial, pulling out a neon-green liquid with dark dark green specks flowing around in it, as if alive. "I need to to remove each bandage, one at a time. As you do, I'll inject this. She hates needles, but bandages pull at her fur." he said simply, holding the syringe to the light. As he did, the flecks seemed to freak out, swimming around like mad.

"Okay," she said simply, looking at Macie and lightly petting her fur a bit. It made sense...even the fairly weak and easily-removable medical tape would have to pull at the fur if it were to stay attached. Miya gently removed the first of the bandages, one of the ones for a barb-wound, thankful that the anesthetic would likely still be strong enough to keep the pup from feeling anything. "Whenever you're ready." After each injection, she'd move onto the next bandage to get the process over as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Aleron injected the strange serum as she worked, stepping back when they finished to be sure the light was on the wounds. "Now...watch." he said with a slight urgency in his voice.
The wounds seemed to have something...IN them. Small black root-like things branched out over the cut, getting thicker and thicker until it was totally closed. After that, sort of tape-flat vines snaked out over the vines themselves, mending like flesh and shifting colour to match Maces. As it finished, fur re-grew, all of this in the course of around a minute.

Miya watched the wounds, eyes widening at what she saw. Plant matter...rapidly growing...melding with animal tissue...and perfectly healing it...all in a minute... "Holy hell..." she muttered, pure amazement in her quiet voice.

Macie growled a little, as if saying to focus. Aleron smirked. "Now imagine that for humans. Oh, and, she wants the needle out." he said as his face softened and he pet her again, and she licked his hand.

"That would be amazing if it could be mass-harvested and produced for hospitals everywhere...would certainly cut down on medical expenses and botched treatments..." The half-elf's voice trailed off and turned into a light giggle as Aleron translated for Macie. It was simultaneously odd, amazing, and amusing that they were close enough for him to do that. "Well, unfortunately, healed wounds don't mean the IV isn't needed any more. Still need to replace the fluids you lost from bleeding. ...But..." she slowly said as an idea came to her. She gently removed the needle, lightly wrapping some gauze around the injection site to stop any minor bleeding, then went over to a cabinet and grabbed a bowl-ish dish that would normally be used for holding dirty medical supplies and filled it with about a cup and a half of water. She brought the bowl of water back to Macie and set it in front of her. "Drink this and I'll let you get away with not having the IV in, okay?"

Aleron nodded. "And think of the funding I'd make for my research." he added, smiling at Mace. It seemed he only ever truly smiled at her...
Mace nodded, yes nodded, to Miya and drank the water, but quietly. She wasn't lapping at it loudly or slurping it or anything. Macie was, clearly, very well trained and intelligent.

"Yeah... Not to mention you'd probably be famous, and then people would practically be begging you to take their money and continue your research..." The thought was rather amusing. He'd likely love the funding, but absolutely hate all the people trying to talk to him and interview him and such if he were to be famous.
Miya watched Macie, smiling a bit at the dog's refined quietness. She truly did seem so human that only the fur, paws, and muzzle truly gave away that she wasn't.

Aleron chuckled. "It's a good thing I'm shy and quiet. That sort of fame, people would see me as a God. And that kind of power can go to the head..." he said, almost... cynical. He pocked the empty vial and watched Mace a bit, thinking. "Hey...do you think it's possible to perform cross-hyperbolis-evolution?" he threw out randomly.

Miya laughed a bit at Aleron's comment. "I was thinking almost the same thing..." His question, however, caught her off-guard. An eyebrow was raised questioningly, as was a pointed ear. "Cross-hyper--wha? What's that?" she asked, voice highly curious. It sounded interesting...she just had no clue what it was.

"Roger that, Lieutenant," Aurora responded to Aleron when he offers back-up if needed. To Mio, after a moment's thought, she says, "Try to hack into it from here." It was a more defensible position than the hanger doors and she did not relish the idea of taking him farther into the station until it had been cleared a bit more.

Mace seemed to roll her eyes and she kept drinking. "Basically, it means 'forcing' evolution, but toward the grounds of another species. Like...causing the growth of wings on something. but growth, not attaching. So it's more.... advancement and DNA alteration then Chimiraism." he explained. "Like Gin and Mio. They're mostly human, but they'recat too! Well....what if we could do the same for other animals? Advance their genes until they were more human, but still animal?"

"Ah..." she said quietly, taking a minute or two to think. As she thought, her brow slowly furrowed and her lips contorted into an uneasy grimace. "Well...I suppose it could be done...if given enough time, money, and information on the genetic structure of original and target species... The only question is...should it be done...? There are some things that just...shouldn't be messed with..."
