Mokuba quickly lifted his head, his gaze unfocused for a moment before he pinpointed it to Shizuka, "...he left. He took off in our helicopter for some secret mission and said he would be back in a bit." he said bitterly.
"What?!" Jounouchi was immediately on his feet, clenching one of his hands into a fist and shaking it angrily, "That p***k! He's the one who needed to be here most of all! Where the hell has he gone off to?!"
Mokuba sighed impatiently, knowing the siblings were going through a difficult time, and he should be more empathic to their plight, but having been raised by his brother, he always had a hard time bringing up sympathy for others. "What part of 'secret mission' don't you understand, Jounouchi? He wouldn't tell me. He just said to stay here and watch over you."
Jounouchi blinked, taken aback a moment before getting annoyed again, "Watch over me? Well apparently I'm not the one that needs to be watched over from running off and doing something stupid, now am I?" he huffed.
((Well apparently you have magical fingers, because it sounds like I got the job without even a second interview. He said he intends to hire me and would call in a week or two to set up a training date for all the new hires. It would only be for a seasonal shift though. Any luck on your end?))

As dire as the day had been Shizuka couldn't help but need to bite back a smile as the two men bickered in spite of clearly being of one opinion. Save for the small matter of being watched over.
"So neither of you have any idea of what Kaiba might be up to then?" Shizuka asked butting in, attempting to open the door for more cordial and communicative conversation.
((My interview isn't until Tuesday so I won't know until then, but yay I'm glad your job seems to be working out. Any idea on the amount of hours you'll be given? Is it a part time or full time position? Regardless I hope you enjoy it.
Heh, your characters have to talk with themselves. xd ))

"I really don't know." Mokuba replied, "He said it was dangerous and he didn't want me getting involved.
Jounouchi paused for a second, considering as he calmed down, slowly taking a seat back down next to his sister, "...it's probably about all of this supernatural haunting stuff that's been going on." he shivered, "We decided back on the helicopter that we were gonna try to get Yuugi's advice as our next step. But he shouldn't have gone off alone." he frowned, "He should've brought me with hi-" he paused, at first angry, thinking Kaiba had left him to get checked over, yet forgone a checkup himself. But as he looked at his sister, he realized that maybe, just maybe, the man had been somewhat considerate and realized Shizuka needed her brother right now. But still, the a*****e could have waited! Jounouchi just went quiet, silently sulking as he leaned back in his chair.
Mokuba rose an eyebrow for a moment, waiting for Jounouchi to continue, then suddenly had an epiphany, "Wait, so he's going to see Yuugi? Then we can just call him and have him get a medical team to intercept Nii Sama." he said, proud that he had outwitted his brother, but most just worried for him.
"No, I don't think that'll work." Jounouchi frowned, "I mean yeah, they could possibly convince Kaiba to get a checkup if they were waiting at Yuugi's house, but in the end it will just make him not trust us and start going off on his own even more. We should let him talk to Yuugi, but have Yuugi contact us after to update us right away."
((Oh, well good luck Tuesday then! And the manager said at first it would be like five to eight hours a week, but then when the holiday season started it would increase a lot. I don't think full-time still, because they seem to be hiring a lot of different people for seasonal, but it could be.
Heh, yeah, guess they do, but at least that's better than a sex scene. XD))

Seto disembarked from the helicopter and made his way toward the Game Shop. He pulled out his cell and rang Yuugi up, stated "I'm here," and gave Yuugi an brief interval in which to respond before he ended the call and waited at the door for admittance.
((Urgh, sorry I poofed so long. I was very involved playing Magicka for several days and then I was very involved in s**t, what am I doing with my PhD? I've also gotten quite involved in a million things (which will hopefully be resume wonderful but unfortunately none pay) and just blah. Didn't get that job unfortunately but she said I interviewed well and it was at least good to go in for the interview because I'm always nervous about those.
Have you started at Gamestop yet? If so how is that going? Hope all else is well on your end and I shall aim to not poof quite so long next time. Going to leave the Shizuka convo be atm as an "I'm here" post was much easier after so long off. xd ))

Yuugi came to the door, "Good evening Kaiba Kun." he said politely as he held it open for the other, eager to find out what was going on, but not pressing into questions immediately. "Would you like anything to drink?" He had a couple seats set up in the game store.
((What is Magicka? XD And that's too bad about your job, but at least you're beefing up your resume. I've been doing the same, volunteering for PetSmart events and um... well apparently that wasn't such a good idea because I've ended up with a new cat. XD I love her though, and I've been wanting another cat since my previous one died a couple years ago. And it was good adopting her, because she's already two and they were just giving adult cats away because they have so many who need homes. D:
I am definitely hired and have filled out all the paper work for GameStop now, but am waiting for Wednesday to get my first schedule, so have not trained or worked yet. However my manager did say they would probably keep two or three of us seasonal hires (of five) after the holidays, so that's good. And that's fine for Shizuka.))

Seto seated himself where Yuugi indicated, asking politely for tea while doing so. Generally he wasn't one for pleasantries and formalities, and he could hardly have cared less about tea at the moment. However as determined as he was to have a plan of action he just could not decide where best to begin. Tea would at least occupy his hands. He tended to think better when he had multiple things to occupy his attention.
((Magicka is kind of a mythology based (like very loose Norse mythology) action-adventure game on Steam. Tom owns it and we set up one of his old PS3 controllers to work as a gamepad so we could both play on one computer on his game. It's pretty fun but I don't particularly like the keyboard controls, I'm playing with the gamepad as Tom just prefers gaming on a keyboard these days anyhow. Rotating magic can be a little slow on the controller at times but I still prefer it to how odd the movement functions are on the computer. It's pretty fun though, and fairly simple (to play, some things are difficult to beat). There aren't things like mana bars limiting how much magic you can use and the game isn't very focused on obtaining the best/strongest weapons. When you die - which will probably be frequently - you come back with your starter weapons. Sometimes depending on where you die the weapons you were holding will still be on the ground, however most special weapons only appear in certain areas of the game. However save for some weapons have some cool attributes none of them are really much stronger than the others and you can definitely play the whole game with starter weapons. So the focus isn't on acquiring things and leveling up, which I have enjoyed. I find the game to be somewhat similar to Castle Crashers, if you know that. Like Castle Crashers I think it's more fun to play with more than one person, and if you are playing with more than one person they can revive you if you die (that's the only way you'd get back weapons as if you die solo you go back to a check point). Will shut up and end Magicka spiel now. xd
Yea there was a job I wanted to apply for, and it said the application was open until the 20th but when I went to put in my application on the evening of the 19th the posting was taken down. I was really annoyed. I put off dealing with it until the end of the week because the post specifically had a close date and I assumed they'd at least keep taking applications until then. Ah well, hopefully something of interest will come up soon. Volunteering for PetSmart sounds wonderful though, and yay kitty! I'm sure you won't regret that decision, even if it wasn't the plan for right now. I really like kittens but next time I get a cat I'll probably just get a cat for pretty much that reason. My bfs family has only ever gotten dogs and cats, not puppies or kittens. Not old animals with only a few years left mind you, but adult animals who are less likely to get homes. I think that's great and I kind of want to do that too.
2-3/5 are pretty good odds of keeping the job I'd say. There might even be 1-2 who doesn't want to/can't stay on as a permanent hire. Hope all goes well tomorrow and that this job works out really well for you. Good luck securing a post beyond seasonal if you find that you enjoy the work and would like to keep it longer, at least until something more career relevant comes up. Sorry I kind of wrote an essay here.))

Yuugi soon returned with tea, handing it to Kaiba before also taking a seat. He let a few seconds of silence settle over them before deciding he had been polite long enough, and really wanted to know what was going on, "...so... what was it you wanted to talk about?"
((Hmm, sounds interesting. I've definitely been more into PC gaming lately, so maybe I'll get it if they have it on sale at some point. Though I tend to prefer more collecting than 'single level' experiences like Castle Crashers. Which yes I have played, and it is fun enough, though never been one of my favorites.
Ugh, that sucks. Seems things like that happen all the time, backing out on promises like that. PetSmart has been pretty cool. When running a booth at festivals and such, it's busy and you really work for it, but when helping at the adoption events? There were so many volunteers I only helped like three people all day, plus got tons of swag and free lunch/snacks. I felt like I was treated more than I helped. XD;; Pretty much just walked around petting kitties all day. And yeah, I'm probably gonna stick with adopting adult cats the rest of my life (unless a kitten ends up on my doorstep or something convenient like that). Not only does it help more with the ones that need adopting, but I personally prefer adult cats. Kittens are too hyper and troublesome, always scratching and never wanting to do anything but play. They're cute, but they also don't have just the plain beauty of adult cats. And I feel like you don't really see the cat's personality until they grow up, because as kittens they're all just playful brats. So yeah, cute and still cuddly and awesome, but I prefer a cat with a couple years under their collar. Only thing I prefer about kittens is that you get to live with them a little longer.
Yup, plus my manager said he could see if any other GameStops in the area need help after the holidays and it would be easy to transfer us. So I've got a decent chance of keeping the job. I'm more worried about wanting to keep it than anything. XD And it's cool, I wrote a return essay.))

Seto fiddled with his tea cup. Resigned to breaking the silence he began, "I, well Jounouchi at any rate, is convinced that we are being stalked by some sort of supernatural power. You very well know my position on the supernatural, however there has been an unusually high number of unexplainable incidents surrounding the two of us lately." He debated going into minor detail, or at least explaining to Yuugi why they had thought to seek him out, if that were not obvious. Still feeling a bit out of place he decided to just allow Yuugi to voice an opinion before carrying on.
((Definitely not my favorite game, and again one that I really enjoy more to play with other people than on my own. It's just kind of a relaxed social game, so I'm enjoying it now, though I picked up Grand Theft Auto III for nostalgia's sake a few days ago and that might distract me now. It's funny in my bfs house I'm now playing GTA III, Tom is playing the original GTA London, the owner of the PS2 and games is playing GTA San Andreas and another housemate is debating starting up GTA Vice City. It's a little funny, though we do all have to play in rotation.
I do like that you get to live with kittens longer, and they don't come with established personalities as much. I like how my cat is very much my cat in that I've raised him since he was quite little. I enjoy kittens and cats so I like having both life phases, but I do just like the idea of giving a home to something less likely to get a home. I'd especially feel that way about dogs. Dogs are definitely something I want to know what I'm getting into before I agree to it.))

Yuugi listened intently, not seeming shocked, confused, or disbelieving of Kaiba's explanation, just nodding and letting the other speak. Once the other had fallen silent, the first thing he asked was, "Were is Jounouchi Kun right now?" He was trying not to look at all worried, but that kind of news, coupled with Kaiba telling him instead of his friend, was somewhat concerning.
((Lawl at GTA. If you like sandbox games like that, I highly suggest Saint's Row. Same play style, but far, far more hilarious, and it has awesome character customization.
Yes, I love helping older animals. <3 Though don't think I'd want a dog regardless... I'd be cool living with one, but only if I didn't have any of the responsibilities for it and it wasn't a super annoying one. XD;; ))

Without yet going into detail about the helicopter adventure Seto outlined the misfortune of Jounouchi's mother and the fact that both he and his younger sister were in the hospital with her right now.
((I've heard of Saint's Row, and I'm wondering if Tom's housemate has that as well, I'll have to check when I get a chance. Been pretty busy with actual work at the moment.
I'm not one to want to take care of a dog either, but Tom is. I'm perfectly happily living with them as well, so long as I'm not fully responsible with them.))

"I see..." Yuugi said solemnly as he lowered his gaze, taking a moment to pay silent condolences to Jounouchi and his family. Once he had finished that, he looked back up at Kaiba, his manner back to that of a polite business encounter, "Of course I'll do everything I can to help..." he trailed off, knowing there was a lot he didn't know he would be agreeing to, "But I really am not sure what I can do... I've never heard of something like this. Anything I know about the occult is from my other self or just some random knowledge here and there when it relates to ancient games and such. But if you and Jounouchi Kun are in trouble, then I'm here all the way." Yuugi's determination and confidence peaked slightly in that statement. "...so to start I'd like to know what exactly we are dealing with. What all has happened?"
((I've only played the third one I believe, which I also think is the most recent one. But reviews seem to indicate it is also the best (but just barely better than the first). So I'd go with that. There is a story that sort of continues off the first two, but it's easy to step into and isn't what makes the game great.
Yeah, though I also wouldn't want dog like most chihuahuas, all annoying and such, or ones that follow you everywhere desperate for attention or lick you a lot or back too much. So I'm still picky even when I don't have to do the work. XD))

Seto sighed heavily before trying to outline the tale as briefly as possible without excluding crucial details. He outlined the encounter in the coffee shop, the fiasco at his office, the strange occurrences around Jounouchi's father, the several hospital trips (including those of Jounouchi's family), the helicopter adventure and as an afterthought the strange adventure that had occurred in Seto's own bedroom. He had initially repressed that moment considering its awkward end in Shizuka's bedroom. With great difficulty he managed to brush in that seemingly odd moment of possession that occurred to him during that confrontation without detailing anything that would hint at Shizuka's embarrassing state of undress.
He sipped his tea quietly when he finished the tale, giving Yuugi time to let the story sink in. He didn't know if Yuugi could actually be of any assistance to them, however at this point the compulsion to actively do something, anything, was too strong. Even if Yuugi couldn't begin to guess at answers he was there best shot at deciding what direction to head in next.
((If Tom (the housemate Tom, not my Tom - the fact that there are two Toms in the house does quite frequently get confusing, it's such a common British name) has any of the games I'll aim to give them a play. If not it'll probably be awhile, unless I see it fairly cheap in CEX sometime.
Oh I'm still picky as well, definitely do not want a yappy little dog. Tom and I at least seem to have similar tastes in dogs, he'd probably be willing to put up with fewer breeds/types than I (and none of the ones he wants I'd object to) so I think any dog he would want I'd be okay with. Dogs are probably not in the immediate future though. We're both pretty firm on the fact that one of the number one priorities is the correct accommodation for a dog. My friend's brother has a lovely dog, but they live in a condo with no yard and because it's so rambunctious it has to stay crated when they are at work. Which at times can be quite a long portion of the day. They usually try to get family or someone to come walk it if it will be crated for several hours, but I still just couldn't do that. I'd much rather not have a dog and play with a friend's dogs than try and force a dog to live in what clearly isn't suitable accommodations for it.
Anyhow past week was a bit crazy and meeting filled and then I went to London for the Guy Fawkes holiday. Met up with American friends which was nice but did keep me away from the comp for a bit. Should be about more now, for awhile anyhow.))

Yuugi listened calmly the entire time, only allowing a bit of worry to peak when he heard the more dangerous parts, like the helicopter. It was merely concern for the safety of his friends though, not shock at the outrageous tale. Once Kaiba had finished, he took the time allotted him to take everything in, then nodded slowly, "Alright... this is definitely not anything I've ever heard of. But from my experience, most folklore you hear has some basis of truth. That's where we should start; researching folklore with similar happenings. We should obviously start with Japanese, though also expand to any culture you or Jounouchi Kun are connected to. American, ancient Egyptian, Atlantean..." he met Kaiba's gaze, relieved that they shared some of their previous supernatural experience together. It would make it easier to convince him to research such things. "Then if we find something that seems familiar to the situation, we can dig deeper, try to find ways to stop it. Knowledge is powers after all; the unknown becomes a lot less scary once you know how it works. If we don't have much luck with basic research, we have other contacts as well: Jii Chan, Isis San, we could even see if Bakura Kun could get in contact with his father."
((Oh wow, two Toms in a household would suck. XD
And yeah, I would never get a dog that wouldn't work in the environment, no matter how much I wanted one.
By the way, saw your status update about the two year thing. Was it Sara? That's ridiculous...))
