I can see why a lot of people hate the post-L ones. L kept it interesting. Near might've hit endgame, but only because of a few rare flukes, and Light being stupid at the last minute.

End of EP 1, Light has a god complex.
EP 2, he makes a huge mistake when he kills who he thinks is L.
Basically, within the 1st 2 EPs, if you're really observant, you know what's inevitable.

that may be, but still, nobody's that great at guessing things like that. More importantly, the sheer number of variables that go right for him is just amazing. nobody opens his drawer and burns the death note at the beginning, loses his memory and it manages to all fall back in his lap just perfectly instead of into someone else's hands and never comes back...

Hmmm...Lothar and Ymiron would be a pretty close fight. I cant honestly say who would win.
Though, if it were Lo'gash, or should I say Varian Wrynn, I know what king would win.
And I'm not talking about in-game, but in an area-like setting, like what we have in the Outer Rim.
