The sprints thing.
You go to the track, you need to put priority on distance.

Ah...I rarely sprint, only if I've done a lot of walking, which I do some walking when I'm doing the nanny job. I'll drag the brats to the zoo and walk for miles, but at the end of the day I'm just not in it for the long jog/run.
Sprinting is really, really hard on the joints, but so is running.

Joint pain being related to running (sprinting or not) is a myth.
As long as you aren't running like a goon, anyway.

Edit: I don't have joint problems. I just heard that from a book I read. xd

Anything done wrong is harmful.

Pssh, even not stretching can lead to serious injuries, even if you're doing the sport/movement correctly.
