Hi, everyone! Hope y'all have had a great day. Mine was interesting. I went on a wild goose chase ... literally!
A pair of Canadian geese have been hanging around my pond for the last 3 or 4 weeks. When I left the house yesterday, I saw them swimming around ... typical day for these two. BUT, when I got home, I saw them on the bank, one standing and one sitting. I initially thought the sitting one was grooming because its wing wasn't folded. However, the more I looked, the more I realized it was in a really weird angle. Went to the house and got some binoculars. The wing was definitely broken ... by what I'm not certain.
I found a waterfowl rescue group about 1 1/2 hours from me and talked with one of the folks there. Since then, I've been trying to catch the injured goose to get it to a vet. Yesterday, it was Goose 1 and Me 0. It may have a broken wing but, wow, it could run and swim. And its mate is really protective!
This afternoon the pair were resting in another spot but were further away from the water. With the help of my husband, we were able to corner the injured goose and I successfully threw a blanket over it. While I carefully wrapped the blanket around the goose, Jim stayed between me and the angry mate. We got the goose to the house and into one of our dog crates (thank goodness for big dogs). The goose is currently at my vet's office. He's going to see what can be done with the wing but he seemed optimist that the goose could be saved regardless. I'm supposed to call around noon tomorrow to get an update. If all goes well, I'll then take the goose to the rescue people.
Then we'll try to catch the mate. But that's another wild goose chase for later ... when the mate goes through a molt and can't fly ... or so say the rescue people.
Life stays interesting here! biggrin

I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW TOMORROW TO WORK AT A SUMMER CAMP!!! So excited and nervous! I hope I don't blabber like an idiot. sweatdrop And LOL Willa! You lead an interesting life... xD I hope the goose is all right and that somehow its mate understands you only want to help.
OMG NEW DRAGON LOOKS!!!!
Here's the different ones I've come across... anyone see any that I missed? I need to get these into the dictionary (eventually).Anyway:
There's a lot of new egg looks... blacks? Greens, Vines, Pinks, Orange, Canopy, Rock, Balloon, Storms/Gray, Whites, Daydream, Mint, and Water ar ethe ones I've noticed thus far.
NEW DRAGON SPRITES! New Black Female and also new black hatchlings!
 New Black Alt Female
 New Seasonal Femalez
 New Daydream Male
 New Female Geode
 New Storm Female
New Water Dragons (male and female!)
New Canopy (both, I think? I can't tell!)
 New Ochredrakes
 New Female Stripes
 New VALENTINE 2009! Whoa! o_O

Phew! I think that's all of them. ^^ This is exciting~! Thanks, Mini! The mate is still hanging around the pond which is a good sign, according to the rescue people. Hopefully it'll stick around so we can catch it and reunite the pair.
The new looks are great, aren't they? You've got some updating to do in the Dragon Dictionary ... in your spare time. LOL! Also the canopy dragons are actually called a neotropical dragons. Just FYI and thanks for the correction, Ghost! biggrin
Good luck on your job interview! heart
