yup, he offered Faust eternal like and knowledge in turn for his soul and well Fasut swore that if he ever found a moment in which he was truly happy he would go to hell with Mephisto, to bad Faust felt the happiest when he was been kind to others, so the plan blew up in his face.

Thats normal. In evidence of how non-normal I am, I used to cower away from the flimflam and OOC talking. Characters and confusion are one thing... but people scare me...
