I didn't think I've ever used a summon in this guild or the old one... lol. But I don't have any idea what to do with my character yet...

The only thing you get for being an old member is, you get to keep any DD Items you had, and if you had a demon you can keep it. Other than that, its a clean slate, everyone starts from scratch lol.

As far as the stats go, technically there is no Gen/Nin/Tai stats in the same fashion as NFS1. Instead they are categories.

Resolve:
Chakra - Self explanatory. Pays cost of jutsu.
Stamina - Is basically the other half of your HP. When you take damage it is divided between chakra and stamina, however when it reaches 0 you start having to make checks to stay concious.
Focusing - Same as in NFS1, except you do not auto focus anymore. You actually have to take a full turn to focus chakra.
Toughness - Reduces your physical damage. It is also used to determine your fatigue limits. Which you can find out more about in the combat thread.

Tai:
Agility - The PC stat for Tai. The higher your agility the faster you are, the easier it is for you to dodge, and the more likely it will be that you will hit your target with a Taijutsu attack.

Str - Your damage modifer. The higher this is, the harder you hit/more damage you deal.

Nin:
Seal Speed - The PC stat for Nin, this is basically how fast you can formulate Jutsu which reflects in a higher chance of hitting your target.

Seal Str - The damage mod for Nin, works in the same fashion as Strength.

Gen:
Intelligence - Though it is used for a wide varity of things, it is mainly used to determine your custom jutsu. For every 5 INT you have, you unlock a basic level 0 slot. For every 10 you unlock 1 normal jutsu from the normal jutsu thread of any level. These are also the slots you use when copying jutsu with Shari, or leaning a jutsu from another player. For every 15 you unlock a custom juts. These levels go up by 5 each time. So at 15 INt you unlock level 5, at 30 INT you unlock level 10 etc. These levels determine how many points you have to spend on the skill which can be created in the Custom Jutsu thread. For every 20 you unlock an upgrade. These also go up by five. Upgrades increase the level of one of your skills by 5 each time.

Will Power - Wp is a little bit more difficult to explain. WP is your ability to remove debuffs and resist Genjutsu. When attacking with Genjutsu you would use your Seal Speed for its PC, however when defending against Gen you must use your WP stat. So, this means that even if you have a high agility or a high seal speed, you can still have a low PC against Gen if you dont have any will power.

There are various other things that these stats effect, such as inititve, stealth, grappling, disarming, etc, but that is the basic run down of what the stats are for.

Just came up with a very interesting idea for death that would allow for rp'ing during the down time while making death much more grim (ie when a characters dead, they're dead, but you'd keep your stats, just gain a different character rp wise with the same things).

Hoping this proposition will be popular as from an rp standpoint it'd kind of do away with the "hur hur hur, infinite lives" thing and make killing taken more seriously in rp.

I'm going to have a blast with a future summon if mine, Wow...

Talk about Rape of the highest degree LMFAO!

it'll take me a little bit to obtain it though, pretty high level.

But my Rattata Summon is in the top percentage of Rattatas Summons!
I challenge you to a POKEMON SUMMON BATTLE!!!

Idk if I like it or not. One way, it makes a lot of sense, and in another I don't like having to give up my character... Maybe it could be a dice roll thing. Each time you die, the PC to bring that RPC back to life goes up by 100. If you fail, you get the punishment of starting anew *shrug*

Do you just keep your level, or do you keep all stats and Jutsu?

I don't like it much either... Just for the fact if it's the way it sounds, your pretty much the same character with a different name. xp

In comparison to having infinite continues rp wise?
It's mostly for the rp thing, otherwise your the same character with the same name who can't ever be killed by anyone for any reason no matter what. While realistically in a world full of ninja's someones bound to have the same style as you.
I suppose a free reset would be possible, but at higher levels that would just be a huge pain to mods (and the players) having to re-do every jutsu, perk choice, etc.

That's possible, and of course there's always the option of another player using the "sack their life res jutsu" thing. Though I don't see many people willing to give there lives up for say, random genin x. I will consider it and add it to the prop in the mod sub-forum though.

Well, i mean, the reset would be optional. I just think that if you're gonna rip someone's character away because of an assassination or something, they should at least get the benefit of making a new combat style to go with them.

See but with the current system if you got assassinated you wouldn't get that style otherwise anyways. As for the reset I get how it would be nice, and in a perfect world I'd have no issue with it.

The problem would be with the mod updating in that now you've got to go through a level 500+ character and check over his hundreds upon hundreds of Jutsu for descrepencies and errors.
So yes, ideally this would be perfect, but realistically I just don't see a reset working at later levels.

Again this is also for an emotional deal. I mean think about it:
You're out with your Genin team. The three of you have been through thick and thin together and grown very attached (perhaps an in team love has sparked or just general comradery/friendship). Suddenly you're ambushed and through a long hard battle you come out victorious. One of your team members though is on the ground, un moving... dead.

Response A) Current system:
Oh well, few days and they'll be back anyways. After all they've died 4 times already.

Response B) Proposed system:
Your character can have a real emotional response. From this point that character, their history, etc, is all gone. The player still looses nothing stat/earned wise and has a new character to add more fluff to the world perhaps even being the new member joining your team that was chosen because they fill the old role well, but all that history you built up with them is gone and thus derives an actual scar on the characters memory.

I dunno, it seems kinda crazy to lose it. Maybe after X amount of deaths lose your character? So life is still valued, yet at the same time you have a couple of chances. Like you have three lives per character, after three lives new character with your stats and whatever, different name and all the good stuff.

Well yes, that's why I'm taking into consideration Vashs last proposed (roll to see if ressurected) thing. Which could be represented by your team mates rushing your body to a nearby hospital in hopes they can revive you or what have you (with that check being a flat % on a d100)

Just think of it as this.....

I payed someone for art that is coming up soon.... And thus... I would have to obtain a new appearance all together... thus obtaining Art/ via appearances would be pointless......

I say Nay!
