She circled when she could, loking up with imploring eyes. Did she want something? Not really. But she liked this new persona. Different, and intriging. The other malik would have punted her out the window by now. This one was being tolerant, if just ignoring her. She continued to circle and stare.
She giggled when Onyx lifted her up. Oh wow, outside was so neat seen from this angle! All those people walking around. She pointed to the side of the building. "Look, Ironsides is still there! he spent the night on the wall!"
"Maybe that is half the point of choosing first event. You choose the one your opponant will be the most tired for, so you have a better chnace at wining." Moonstone nodded. "I suspect the gaurds are either used to getting up this early, or are enhanced."

Piper watched Ashlyn for a moment. "Seems she''s starting to like you...or at least tolerate you like you tolerate her." Or maybe he tolerated Ashlyn because he knew Piper had taken a liking to the creature and would get on his case. Though she laughed as she looked up to Malik with a smile. "And by talk I''m sure you mean punch in the face and threaten. Though the thought is endearing Malik, I''d rather like to have my one actual competition to be able to shoot straight." Really was endearing though. "Really? Jousting this early? That makes things interesting."

"She''s your pet, and I am in a rather nice mood. the evening''s activities made sure I didn''t grab her neck and squeeze rather than her beak. and I wasn''t thinking punch in the face and threaten..I was thinking more like break a few of his ribs and threaten. don''t need ribs to shoot an arrow."
A glance at the griffin, and a smile lightly to Piper.
"Jousting in the morning, so that half of them get disqualified for not showing up, most of the rest will be to tired to be a problem. and it''s one of hte more dangerous events, you know those pick sharp pointy sticks coming at eachother at high speed."
Onyx grumbled lightly.
"Still too early for it. and yep, there''s our favorite lizard, lil sis. he''ll be riding into the jousting today. hoepfuly we''ll knock big bad Malik off that horse of his. wouldn''t that be great."
Another feline yawn and a glance at Moon.
"does that say when the archery is? I wouldn''t mind seeing Piper clean a few clocks with her bow either."

Piper shook her head. "I'll be peeking through my fingers..." Honestly she didn't know if she could actually watch the act of jousting. Like he said, pointy stick, high speeds, face offs. It just made her worry. Though she let loose one of those quiet melodic laughs, leaning back against Malik's chest as she took hold of his arms, bringing them around her and holding onto them. Effectively he had his arms resting on her shoulders, her holding his wrists as she was leaned back into him. "Well if there is an 'accident' and you break a few of his ribs...make sure you don't let those ribs puncture his lungs. One does need lungs to shoot an arrow. Best to hold your breath when you aim."

She puffed out her chest. Her neck was thick, and not easily strangled. Just let him try! Hey, she got a glance out of him. She gave the odd gurgling purr again. Come on, you know you want to scratch me head. Come on, I''m just an adorible, old grifiin who want s bit of attention, indulge! She paced back and forth in front of him.
She smiled. "Do I get to steer him today? I can handle it! I know how to ride!" She loved the lizard, and loved jousting too. "Yay, jousting! It''s my favorite! I like to watch all the lizards, cause it''s them that win the event, not the people!" She looked at her brother. "Cept for you, cause your a kitty!"
"uh..." he looked down at his paper. "There is an event later on today. In the afternoon, but it''s only one of many. She might be in it, she might not." He put the paper away so he wouldn''t lose it. "I don''t think I have anything today. I might later on tongiht though, depending on who wins some of the early events."

Onyx grinned lightly.
"You can steer to teh Collosuem. but no, you can't steer in teh jousting. that might get you hurt."
Then a grin at Moonstone.
"Shoudl we go wake up the master and the mistress of the floor and get them moving?"
Malik looked at Ashlyn, and smirked.
"Wake me up like that and then pander around looking for petting from me? you're out of your feathered head. I'm lucky I still have my eardrums intact from that screech of yours."
Attention back to Piper, looking down at her.
"Okay, no punctured lungs just broken ribs. and threats and warnings. provided I find the snake in the grass."

"Oh she just wants to be pet." Of course she couldn''t say no to the Griffin, and thusly she reached out a hand for Ashlyn to take advantage of. Loved the griffin most certainly. Though she other hand reached back and up, fingertips tracing themselves along the rim of Malik''s ear. "You ears have heard louder..." Bad Piper. But she laughed again lightly. "Feel the need to threaten him that badly, do you? How chivalrous of you."

Oh come one. Have a sense of humor! ANd admit it. Without me, you''de be pretty bored, wouldn''t you? Then the hand stuck out, and like a cat Ashlyn was had thrust her forehead into said hand and was useing those fingers to scratche under hre feathers. She half closed her eyes. Come on Master mailk, you saying you don''t want any of this?
She threw her arms over her head. "yay! Can e go right now!? plese, oh please?"
"Yes, lets go get them. they are probably awake anyway." He mmussed Bode''s hair. "She gets to spend most of the day with me, but don''t worry little one, we''ll watch onyx in all of his events."

He grinned lightly, eyes half closing when her fingers traced over his ear..then a glance at the griffin.
"True..but there's a differnece between an enjoyable scream, and an annoying screech."
No, the griffin wasn't getting any petting right now from him. he'd rather be back in bed make Piper drown her screeching out anyway.
Onyx chuckled and nodded, letting Moon carry Bode, and headed out the door, and down the hall to Malik's room, knocking lightly.
"Alright you two...time to go to the colloseum again so I can knock your boyfriend off that black horse of his!"

No pets from Malik, but plenty from Piper. That was for sure. Okay so she was spoiling the griffin to an extreme extent. But the knock at the door drew her attention. "The children are awake and want to play already." Moving away from Malik she went to the door, pulling it open. "That's my fiance' and what makes you so sure you can knock him off his horse...I think Nightmare's pride would be hurt if that happened...and she doesn't like her pride being damaged."

In that respect her and the Nightmare were the same. Ashlyn didn't pursue Malik any longer after that, but oh she would get him. Make no mistake of that. She might be a proud animal, she might not even be the smartes animal, but she was stubborn as hell and knew how to use it.
"But Mrs. Piper, knocking them off gives you three points! It's the best way to win!" She pouted. "You're not asking us to lose, are you?"
"Yes, yes. It's time to go play." He heaved a yawn. He patted Bode on the head. "Her fault..." He saw the griffin inside, but didn't say anything off it. There could be any reason in the world why these two had one. "She want's to go to the arena early, for some reason."

Malik looked over at the trio, and put his helm on.
"Onyx and that lizard have enough to deal with...don't need to worry about me and Nightmare. cheating guards, for example. Being as I was teh victor in the wooden swordfight..I am reserved for the second round, automatic advancement past the first. another advantage of that victory."
Onyx crossed his ams lightly.
"Bah we're not going to lose, are we lil sis? And we'll knock him off and get our three points. and did I hear the word finace' in there someplace? Oh good lord malik is going to be breeding."
A light chuckle and a glance at the griffin.
"Is that your mount, Piper? since I haven't seen Serino."

Ashlyn pricked up her ears and gave Onyx a very nasty look.
She threw her arms in the air. "Not going to lose!" She shouted and giggled. "Three points!" She was all smiles, telling them all that she knew, "Mrs. Piper and Mr. Malik are in love! She's got a real pretty ring on her finger, cause they're gonn be a Mommy and Daddy!" that was her definition of getting married. If you were married, you were a mom and dad right?
Malik breeding with another of his species might have been...horrifing. But with Piper? That wasn't so bad. that ment that at least the children would be...nice...right?

"I'm sure he could say the same about you. Lord knows we don't need you breeding if you're going to be passing that bad disposition of yours around. " Feisty today, yes? Though she didn't mention the mechanics of Elven breeding and how that possibility of kids, was probably a long long time off. Complicated breeding patterns. Though she cast a look to Ashlyn then got that look of 'what a very grand idea'. "Malik...Onyx just put the idea of riding a griffin in my head..." It was said in that warning tone of her that said 'shut me up before I start'. But back to Onyx now. "No, she's not. I think...she's my pet. But I don't know really. But she is a sweetheart. Serino doesn't like to be around cities and he's doing whatever it is Zephyrs do. Though I am surprised you remembered him. You were still a babe back then." Then her eyes dropped to Bode and she ruffled the girl's hair. "No one is going to lose on purpose. And you almost have it right there." And then her attention bounced to Ashlyn. "Well dear Ashlyn will you be joining me or are you going off again?" Good lord her attention was bouncy today.

Malik shook his head lightly.
"You think you can ride her, go for it. but I'm not going to take responsibility if you get injured. and you know what I do to things that injure you."
And a look to thr other three.
"Yes, Onyx. you heard right. we're engaged. and as for..'breeding' that's a very long time yet. Piper is still a young thing for an elf. have to wait for that wanderlust of hers to dissipate before anyone can think of kids."
Onyx grinned lightly.
"Hey a new event, griffin rodeo! can you stay on for eight seconds?"
A chuckle, and then looking at Malik, getting his usual gruffness back.
"Oh dear. so we've gone from piper being a fine elven woman to you dating a not old enough for kids yet young girl? that's such an improvement. I hope you get knocked of your horse and maybe get some sense knocked into you. I'm looking forward to do that myself."
