I'm really fed up with explosives guy, he has a 13 year old girlfriend but apparently that's not enough. talk2hand He's such a slick talker also and he acts like we're cool, but we're not. It's as though he has multiple personalities, as if he can't remember what he's done/said and he's a totally different person until all of a sudden he's himself again. Augh.

Meeting new people or keeping my mind occupied with other endeavours always helped me get over someone.

Ever notice that our generation gets absurdly nostalgic, when we've barely even begun to live their own lives?

"Don't you miss 90's action movies? Don't you miss ____? Remember when we used to _____ years ago?"

Shops like Hot Topic and shows like VH1's "I Love the 80's" are pretty much devoted to nostalgia.

It's like a Ben Folds lyric from a great song called "b*****d":

Kids today gettin' old too fast
They can't wait to grow up so they can kiss some a**
They get nostalgic about the last ten years
before the last ten years have passed

In a way, it makes sense. No generation before us has dealt with such rapid changes in the way we live our lives due to technology and whatever else - so when we say "don't you miss ___ from years ago..." it's probably because things WERE pretty different years ago.

But also... we are a pretty nostalgic generation.

I'm worried about Joe Satriani. He's betting EVERYTHING on the Viva La Vida case... if he loses, he'll forever go down as "that nobody guy who tried to sue Coldplay" and he's way too talented to be remembered like that.

It's really difficult to take sides, and for some reason this whole Satch VS Coldplay thing is really bothering me. I DO think Viva La Vida that was influenced by Satriani's music, whether Coldplay will admit it or not. However, I DON'T think that borrowing influences is a bad thing. Even if they did borrow it, it still takes a talented musician to take something an idea that's so small and obscure, and make an entire song of it.

At the same time, I am totally feeling Satch's pain right now. It was something precious he wrote for his wife, and this band comes along and tops the chart with a melody he wrote years ago.

I hope Satch wins this, just because he has a LOT more to lose than Coldplay does. If Viva La Vida ends up being exposed, I don't think it'll harm Coldplay nearly as much as the other way around.

Look up Fin de Sciecle, we're not the only generation to go through such massive changes this fast. I'm not sure young people were nostalgic back then, but a lot of people were absolutely thrilled about what was happening and couldn't wait to see what's next*. I - for one - am also very curious to see what's next, there's still so much we can implement: nano-technology, cloning, Man on Mars, replacement for oil, photorealistic graphics on a 900$ machine...

I guess it does help that for the first time in history it has become easy to look up audio and video from 10 years ago without having to wait for a broadcasting company to show it on the TV or radio again.

*One theory goes that World War I had to happen because everyone was way too curious about how all those newfangled weapons would work out.

I don´t like Coldplay any more, their music is just so middle of the road. There´s no doubt they´re very talented, but they´re just rolling out hits now, without trying to be inventive.

Wah, you´re talking about things I am interested in too. gonk

Not to mention you can't get away from them. They're on, like, every video countdown, every iPOD commercial, every radio station. Enough already! gonk

I swear if she does or say anything, I will be pissed.

She already said why should she care about what I'm doing with my life now, etc.

The part of being an ex thing. Yeah.
Do it. Get the ******** out of my life and stop meddling.

"SOO HAPPY" now, yet the moment I am with someone, you leave little hints of being beyond pissed on the social networks.
Kay. Whatever.

Not your life, not your person to slave.

Sounds like she's still wounded by the past. She's easily agitated by you and unconsciously trying to make contact with you. :[

Unless I'm sobbing and hurting, apparently I "don't care", and "never did".

She wants me to suffer.

No lie.
