Jacqueleen saw them departing and nodded to them all respectively but then this "Alpha" entitled man stepped up to her and she did not cringe a bit in his presence, only smiled at him and winked, "Drunk darling? I'm not the one with the attitude, even after I've been dooped with silver in my drink." she watched him eagerly light his cigarette and his arrogance lit her fire quickly.
As all turned to disperse, before the Alpha left she whispered directly to him, "I did you a favor. I gave you evidence no one else could." her arrogance rearing it's horrendous head and snuffed at him once as her eyes went wide for a split second, her pupils slitted horizontally, instead of the normal vertical direction and the beginning of his cigarette became the end, exploding into a group of ash from his mouth. Concluding her conversation with him, "If I hadn't valued the race of my people, why would I test the people that you are planning to team up with? Hmm? Smart s**t." taking a swig of the bottle, she kept her posture and poise well for someone who was supposed to be a drunk idiot.
Jacqueleen couldn't stand Alpha males, they always just....got in the way. Being an alpha wasn't just about you taking action for your own glory, but about knowing when to step down and allow others to take action for you. And her voice rumbled in her throat, after he snarled as if she was the enemy, little does he even know "his people". Who the hell was this elitist and why did he believe he is above her? Jacq quite preferred the brave blood-sucker to his attitude.
She simply took a seat at the table as the others dispersed, staring defiantly at the wall, as she popped another cigarette into her mouth, lighting it smoothly with the zippo. Jacqueleen found herself hoping for a home and stomped the ground firmly. Grabbed the bottle and poured one for herself with some of those juices in it. As her fire cooled from the hot-headed remark of the idiot Alpha, she mentioned "It's in my nature to be free darlin'. You can't stop the wind, just enjoy the breeze while it's here."

"That was rather reckless of you, Rogue," she said as Rogue consumed the drink the arrogant lycan female had offered.
Her eyes flicked to Veroen as she felt the Void stirring. She wondered how he could manipulate the Void so easily, manifesting objects and even people. She was glad of it, as the firearm he now held in his hand would indeed prove useful if Rogue's drink had been poisoned. Thankfully, though, it hadn't.
As Jacqueleen continued to antagonize the leader of her race, Alexz shook her head. It was true that she had once defied the leaders of the races when she became involved with the Rebellion, but she had never fooled herself into thinking herself superior. Even during her phase of defiance, she had a deep respect for the powerful leaders of the old days; she could not imagine herself acting as Jacqueleen did, belittling the Alpha by calling him "darling" or suggesting that she had done him a favor. Such arrogance was incredulous to the point of amusing.
"I guess the times have truly changed," she said as she pressed her cigarette into the ashtray on the table, "It seems arrogance has replaced respect. A shame, really."
She nodded to Rogue as she stood to leave and attend to business with her siblings.

Jacqueleen listened to the older woman's concern about that Jacqie's actions, she only glanced down at the table once and suggested to her, "It's not my blatant lack of respect. It's my deep concern for the truth that motivates me. No matter how reckless one might have to be, or who they are contending against, It's the ultimate truth that, even as powerful as a single person can be, the illusion of the mind & perspective can always affect decision-making.".
She glanced at this "Alpha" male and then didn't pay a second mind to him or the rest of them and locked gazes with the wall again, "Plus, I've been titled before...I don't particularly enjoy it. So I'm nor this or that, I'm solely Jacqueleen Du Moire." her faint french accent clicking as she pronounced her name.
With the flick of her cigarette, she inhaled deeply with a perplexed mind and exhaled her problems swiftly.

Valkyre I ((Ooc: works pretty dead, so I went ahead and posted since I have nothing else to do.))
Veroen had watched Rogue intensely, and silently manifested one of his handguns filled with potent silver nitrate ammunition, into his hand underneath the table. If rogue had been poisoned, the Void Master Elder would have slaughtered the female Lycan before she could even utter a cry of pain.
After a long moment, it was apparent that the drink was not poisoned. Veroen gave a sigh and shook his head as his handgun dissipated into nothing, back to where it was before Veroen had conjured it.
He looked at Rogue with a smirk. "You're reckless." He said it with a somewhat playful tone, more of a jab than a statement.
He glanced at Ceon, and spoke to him with a raised eyebrow. "You Lycans never cease to amaze me." He shook his head as he finished, and leaned back comfortably. He would be glad when this whole thing blew over with the incident. However he knew in the pit of his stomach that Katarina and her silent cowboy would be a problem, possibly in the near future.
As if Veroen had hit the unlucky jackpot, he felt two of his Void assassins die. The link between a Void Master and his conjurations made it possible to know when something went wrong on the other end of the connection. He had put a cigar in his mouth, and was bringing his silver lighter to light it, when two of the three connections he had with his three minions were severed. He froze instantly, his lighter still a mere three inches from the end of his cigar. His eyes narrowed, and he knew something had gone wrong.
Without moving, he spoke to Rogue and Alexz through their mental connection. 'We have a problem.'
Veroen never underestimated a foe, which was why he had no problem sending his three assassins to assault the group of Nightwatch members. They wouldn't have fought to the death, and as assassins they would have retreated to the shadows to live to continue recon if necessary. Two of them being killed only meant one thing: an ambush. And Veroen had a growing suspicion of who it might be.
The realization of the possibility that Katarina had intervened on his operation made his face twitch, as the Void thrashed inside of him in anger of the two lost assassins. It's anger spread to Veroen, but he kept his composure, except for sound he made when he firmly clenched his jaw. His eyes darkened to a very dark crimson, almost black, and he barely held back a snarl.
So the other elder from across the seas would interfere with New York coven operations against a traitorous group in his city? Veroen would not allow a failure to come of his operation. He was well taught in the ways of war games. And since they had little advantages against this Nightwatch group, he would not allow this opportunity to escape him, though it meant clashing with the elder from across the seas.
He looked at Alexz, knowing she could read his thoughts, knowing that she would know what he knew. But there was no time to linger, lest he lose another assassin. Without a word, he instantly dissipated in a flash of darkness so fast that a very small sonic boom emitted from where he had been sitting, shattering the glasses of liquor that sat on the tabletop, to confront Kensington, Katarina, and the cowboy.

As Rogue walked away, she turned her head slightly, speaking to Veroen. "You should see me in bed." She smirked and continued up the stairs to her office.
How could I turn down a glass of bourbon, Alexz. Really. Rogue smiled to no one, knowing she had been reckless. Maybe she wasn't in her right mind anymore. The guards moved aside and opened the door for Rogue.
Her eyes met her brother's...the same deep emerald that was a signature trait from their Zupanic clan. Everything about their looks were marked really...the strong cheek bones, the midnight hair...a somewhat wild and unpredictable demeanor. "Good evening, Xander." She walked over to the stools on one side of the bar and sat down casually. It was then that she heard Veroen's words in her mind. Veroen sounded alarmed. What has happened...? She spoke to Veroen and Alexz...waiting for a word from either of them.

Xander had watched the whole scene with Katarina and Lucien with interest. He had known about Katarina from centuries before. He had never fought with her, but her known thoughts on lycans were clear. Most vampires tolerated lycans more often than not in New York...but New York was a much more liberal coven than a lot of the older covens in Europe.
He walked away from the window and lit a cigarette waiting on the couch with a glass of blood in his hand. He could feel his twin sister somewhere in the building, and he could feel her pain. She wasn't awake and she was very weak, that much he could tell.
As soon as Rogue walked in the door, he was on his feet, his eyes searching hers. She was beautiful. Everything about her was a work of art, and he couldn't but admire it. She looked like she needed to feed, and her face looked conflicted.
"Where is Xandra," he said with some worry in his tone. "What happened to her? Didn't you feel it? She was in intense pain, and then..."

A flicker of void energy manifested itself a few feet away from Rogue and Xander. It grew, and took the shape of a dark figure, and after a moment of flickering, it caved in on itself, imploding silently, leaving two men in its place. It was one of Veroen's assassins from before, the one with the serpent mask, and at his feet, was the unconscious body of a member of the Nightwatch. The assassin was clutching his arm, which was limp from Katarinas blade. He pulled the knife out of his arm slowly without a sound, and let it fall to the floor with a clang. There was no blood, but black liquid flowed from the wound as if it were blood. He was silent for a moment, and stared at Rogue and Xander.
Finally, he spoke to them with a voice slightly muffled by his mask.
"A member of the Nightwatch, compliments of my master." It was obvious that he was referring to Veroen, who had just moments ago disappeared without much of a warning. He stood there, clutching his arm, as he spoke again in the same muffled tone. "We were ambushed by two Vampires, both Void users. One was a male, dressed as a cowboy, riding a black steed of the Void, and the other was female, but I didnt get a good look at her. The other two in my unit were killed, and our master appeared, and deflected the killing strike the Female threw at me, and I managed to escape with this one." he gently kicked the unconscious Nightwatch member on the floor, instead of motioning to him. The black liquid continued to flow from the wound on his arm, and it made him start to dissipate from his feet, and up. His task was done, and Void minions were little more than puppets of the Void, disposable, and not made of actual flesh. He continued to dissipate, until he had completely evaporated into the air, leaving no trace of his existence, except the unconscious man on the floor.

Ceon found himself standing at a table with two of the vampire elders now missing from the conversation. He stared at Jacqueline with a blank face and loosened his fist into an open hand. He blew a mushroom cloud of smoke and sucked it back in, only to release a faint stream of smoke into the hazy bar. This lycan was different than the refugees that had inhabited the sewer hideout for so long. This one had guts, and although here mouth was far too big, she did what Ceon did, what she thought was best for the pack. "Come with me, we need to talk. Don't worry, I won't bite...unless you want me to." With a tap on her shoulder, he walked towards the door. He trusted his scent would allow her to keep up with him rather easily. She didn't know what Xander had expected...but he himself knew that Xandra had been...more or less starting to lose herself the past few months. "She is upstairs being tended to. She disobeyed a direct order, and was beginning to fully torture the leader of the lycan clan in this city. She could have ruined ever last bit of peace we've tried to create....So I drained her. Through our connection she was making me, too, lose control in our Sanguinarian nature...and not only that, I can't control the void...." She looked at the floor, not proud in the least, but admitting the truth to her kin. It was unlike Kaei to admit weakness at all...but the fatigue she felt in every cell seemed to weigh at the moment. She was tired of being strong.
As if prompted by the mere mentioning of the void, something twisted in her stomach. She felt the void before two men appeared before her. One was the serpent masked assassin, the other...she didn't know. The moment of silent passed between them all and then the serpent spoke.
As she let the words register in her ears she looked to the floor at the Nightwatch member. Rogue watched the serpent dissipate back into the void. A hand went to her stomach where the black diamond used to sit, and as she watched and felt the serpent disappear, she too wanted to crawl into the blackness. Once he was fully gone, she closed her eyes collecting herself. A cowboy, and an unknown woman. "Katarina." She spat her name. Was she truly pulling strings in the Nightwatch? Did she really have the audacity to come into the club and reminisce like old friends, only to really be tampering with the fabric of the New York Coven? Rogue would find out.
A growl started low in her throat and her hand clenched into a fist. "Xander, I know now is not quite the time, but, if you could take our guest to the underground via private entry, that would be much appreciated."
Rogue then spoke into Alexz's mind. Meet Xander and I in the catacombs.

"You indeed have never been known to turn down a glass of bourbon," she replied to Rogue with a smile, one which quickly faded as there was an unprecedented turn of events.
Alexz's jaw tensed as she began to receive images of the ambush and the loss of two of the three Void assassins from Veroen's mind. The glass she held in her hand shattered as a result of Veroen's sudden departure before she had a chance to shatter it herself with the tensing of her hand. She stood slowly, bits of glass falling to the floor and tinkling as they landed, relaying the images to Rogue in a steady stream. As her figure began to blur and fade as she prepared herself to follow Veroen into the city, the Void began to rumble. Upon the arrival of the serpent-faced assassin, she snapped back into focus with a faint pop.
"Katarina isn't even here for a full day and she manages to make a bloody mess of things," she grumbled, "Veroen's going against the three of them on his own...think he needs any help?"

Jacqueleen simply looked up at him in confusion of his reaction with her liquor bottle now shattered from the damned power shake in the air of that void-vampire, she didn't see much else a reason to stay there.
When he spoke of biting she only chuckled in rebellion at his, "Who says I don't bite back? Plus, I'm a bit intoxicating - Select few can handle it...and I mean it sincerely." she winked and then sarcastically played off her concern for the Alpha. She was no pup in all reality but Alpha or not, she was not an easy catch. With that said, Jacqie only spun around from the chair and slipped in front of him to only show off what he will never have, with a glance of devilishness over her shoulder. Xander watched silently as the events unfolded in the office. Some part of him was furious at Kaei for what she had done to their sibling. Another part of him knew Kaei was right. His sister Xandra needed to recollect herself. The Sanguinarian within her was not in control and through it, all three of them suffered. It was imperative that they all kept their inner monster in check.
As she asked him to take the Nightwatchman to the basement, he nodded. "We can talk more about this later, Kaei, but know that I agree with your decision." He trusted his sister's wisdom. Unless it concerned her personal health... "And you need to feed before you come downstairs. You're losing your mind, and don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about." He gave her a look that suggested he would make Rogue go kill every human in the entire club just so she would remain alive and safe. He knew they would all sacrifice the world for each other. He lifted the unconscious Nightwatchman with ease and went out a different way than the way he came in, and ascended a staircase, and then another. Through twisting and winding through an area of corridors, and finally to an elevator, he made his way to the dimly lit catacombs. He entered a room and slammed the Nightwatchman on a chair. He chained him down, and shackled him tightly, clicking the neck shackle last.

Rogue smiled slightly to her brother and nodded at his concern. She was also glad he was being so understanding in light of recent events with Xandra. Something was amiss with all of them. She pushed it aside as he took the vampire downstairs.
Rogue put both hands on the counter at her private bar in her office. She held her head down and replayed some of the images that Alexz had shown her of Katarina and Lucian in the park through Veroen's eyes.
She growled inhumanly. Her rage was literally begging for control beneath her surface. Katarina was overstepping boundaries. Granted, Rogue had not been an Elder during their last bouts of killing in Europe...and those were different times, and the lycans were...nothing what they were now. Though she knew Katarina saw them no differently. Rogue had embraced some form of change...that was the nature that vampires physically couldn't belong to...change. They were physically stuck...but everything in life was born, being thrust into the wear and tear of time...The thought stuck. On the surface they didn't change but Kaei knew every day something wore and tore in their being...one could see something ancient in the older vampire's eyes. Something old and worn, and weathered.
She shook the thoughts off. Change was necessary for survival, and it had saved many lives in New York.
Her fangs fell heavy in her mouth and she stood in the full nature of what she was. She took a few heavy breaths to try and calm down. Milos, bring me something to drink. Now. Within a moment, he came with an unconscious young man from one of the back doors. He put the man on the floor and exited silently.
Rogue straddled him for a moment and spoke into his mind to wake up. He opened his hazel eyes and stared into Rogue's intoxicating green ones. Then he noticed her fangs. She had him caught in her gaze and he could not scream, though his pulse spiked. "I needed to see your eyes before I took your life." She then bit into his neck in a more savage way than she intended, and drew in his blood and essence quickly. She pulled back as she had drained him until his heart had stopped. An inhuman roar escaped her, and she slowly pulled herself up, trying to suppress the inner beast.
We need to go to Veroen before we interrogate the vampire from the watch. Rogue said into Alexz's mind with a renewed sense of clarity. I will meet you where they are...after I clean up...
