As if reading her mind, the sheriff walked his way over and smiled at them. "I heard you two are looking for your friend. I can certainly tell you if I've seen 'em."

Icarus blinked a little as the sheriff almost appeared on cue. The girl took a moment to get her thoughts back on track before nodding to the official and fishing the picture back out of the safety of her wallet. She then handed it to the sheriff. "Have you seen him? He disappeared last night and I need to find him." she explained, trying not to let the worry show on her face.

The sheriff shook his head and returned the photo. "Nope, sorry hon we haven't seen him. But sometimes kids just disappear and come back when they feel like it. I wouldn't be too concerned. Have a safe trip, now." Benjamin watched as the man left the diner, leaving in a police car. "We'll find him," the Spaniard said reassuringly.

Icarus frowned deeply as the sheriff returned the photo, denying seeing her boyfriend. His words didn't help and she sighed as he left. She stared down at her food for a few moments before pushing the plate aside and running her fingers through her hair. Icarus glanced a little to Benjamin before sighing deeply. "Yeah...."

Benjamin shook his head and pulled out his wallet, leaving money for the bill and tip on the table. "C'mon. Let's see if there's a supermarket we can get some stuff for the road at."

Icarus nodded to Benjamin and got up, sighing. She headed out to the moped and sat on the side car. The bird sat there for a moment before getting in. "I think there's one around the corner, two blocks down. We can get something there." she said, glancing to the Spaniard.

Benjamin drove them the few blocks over and parked at the supermarket. They were lucky that it wouldn't close for another hour. "I'll go for the snacks, any requests?"

Icarus rode quietly as Benjamin drove to the marker. Though she elected to stay in the side car, holding the duffel bag. The bird glanced to the Spaniard before she shook her head. She then nestled down a little to wait for Benjamin to return.

Benjamin went in and went for a basket. He got some apples, a bag of grapes, a package of Oreos, beef jerky, and toothpaste. He felt these were the necessities for a road trip. Well, that and several bottles of water. He was glad he had brought his wallet with him on the trip, and he began to pay for the things. He paused to ask if they'd seen Jethrow, and he described him for the cashier. Nope. So he returned to the moped with the three bags of food and drink.

Icarus had taken out the map while Benjamin had been shopping. She had been studying for a while before looking up to her friend. "We should head farther west. Maybe they've seen him around there." she suggested, folding the map back up and putting it in her lap, taking the bags and putting them around her feet in the floor of the side car she sat in.

Benjamin nodded, getting settled on the bike and taking Icarus' directions. He'd never been on a proper road trip before, so he had nothing to compare this trip with, but he felt that it was the best road trip of all kind. Yes it was tense, but hopefully Icarus would start to relax once they got on Jethrow's trail. He's a vampire. What could have happened to him?

Icarus leaned back in her seat, helping Benjamin by navigating to the next town. It took a few hours, but soon they had arrived. It seemed like a nice, quaint town. Though Icarus would only really find this place interesting if they had seen her boyfriend and they could point them in the right direction.

Benjamin stifled a yawn as they rolled into the next town around dinner time. It was cute, and people were definitely welcoming as they began their search, asking random people on the street. They were sent to the police, who again hadn't seen Jethrow. "It's getting late. I suggest the two of you get some shuteye up at the motel." Benjamin asked Icarus what she thought of it, secretly hoping she'd agree to getting some sleep.
Jethrow had made it into some woods. They were snowy, but they were dark, and that was the important thing. He made sure to keep the cave in sight at all times, though, so that if he needed to grab cover as the sun started rising, he could. There didn't seem to be civilization anywhere close, but he had no idea how early or late it was, so he didn't want to risk exploring further until he had a better grasp of time.

Icarus was disheartened when the police denied seeing her boyfriend. She bowed her head a little and sighed deeply, going back to the moped. "Yeah.... Let's just get some rest. Maybe we'll have a better chance during the day when he can't wander." she said, trying to rationalize the situation for herself. To try and not think that Jethrow had abandoned her. Anything to keep that out of her mind. But she was quickly losing faith. The nightingale didn't know how long she could keep this ruse with herself going.

Benjamin put his arm around his friend, and hugged her. "We'll find him, I promise." He led Icarus to the motorcycle, and drove them to the little motel, getting a room for them. Once they were settled in, Benjamin turned to her and smiled a little. "Jethrow wouldn't leave you, you know that right? He's crazy about you." [OOC:] I AM SO SORRY it has been a long few months and I'm sorry for being a horrible RP partner gonk
