Technically, it is for Arainar to decide who ultimately gets to mentor who, not me. She is the one who roleplays Showerstar. If you want to request Amberpelt to be Mudkit's mentor, ask her. And Dood-sama does have a point. Age is a key to mentoring an apprentice, but so is character, experience, and willingness. Agian, ask Arainar about it.
Swanfeather twitches her tail irratibally at the young she-cat's words.
"What do you mean 'prove yourself'?" The queen flicks her ears. "As far as I am concerned, your as much a part of this clan as I or anyone else. You have nothing to prove." she mews sternly but kindly, gazing at Amberpelt.
Lotusleaf sighs, muttering softly.
"I know..."
He felt like he had a place to live up to. To be as great as his mentor had been. He knew he was being foolish, and he knew very well that his clanmates held him in high esteem, though his was still relatively young and yet to prove what he can do. He found comfort in the she-cat's words dispite his raging emotions and looks at her greatfully, wondering what he had ever done to earn her sympathy and kindness.
"Thank you..."
Spottedwind was just starting her thrush when she spotted her denmate.
"Morning!" she called, oddly cheery. "Want to share?" she asks, motioning torward her huge piece of prey that was well more than enough for the both of them.

((I play the leader of Fireclan, and it's fine if Amberpelt mentors Mudkit. But Dood-sama, I don't care if mudkit learned to hunt by watching apprentices, I honestly don't. You just can't go gallivanting around as a kit, and expect to be apprenticed or anything. Plus I think you should know Mudkit has an older sister, Dustpaw, and your father died a few moons ago with the badger attack we recently had. Also the deputy betrayed the clan and so going into the forest is very dangerous, because he plans to destroy and kill Fireclan. That's an update for you.
Also, Riverkit isn't really friendly with anyone but his mother. He's blind, a bit grouchy, quiet, and stubborn. So, friendship with anyone is kind of up in the air right now.))

Mudkit woke up. She went to the fresh kill pile, and chose a water vole. She ate it, and decided that since she was almost six moons old, she would stay in camp for the rest of her kithood.And the old deputy may still be out there.She shivered at the thought.

((it's alright, Doo-sama. Just so long as we're straight now. As for Riverkit and Mudkit together...I don't think so.))
Willowsong was right behind Mudkit as they went to the fresh kill pile. She had agreed earlier with what Swanfeather had been saying to Amberpelt. She was a great warrior, and she was glad to have her in her clan.
"Sure, thanks." Raggedtail meowed, and then yawned. He padded over. "Sleep well? I sure didn't." He meowed, chuckling a bit.
Duskfeather smiled. "No problem." She meowed, and looked towards where Willowsomething? had gone off to hunt. "We should go find her before we head back to camp. I doubt Showerstar is up by now with his shoulder, maybe we can get him the most fresh piece of kill this morning." She meowed. She padded off a little ways to where her squirrel was buried. meanwhile amusement flickered and danced in thoughts in her head.
Riverkit yawned and agreed, and tried his best to get more rest.

Bowing her head respectfully to the queen, she left the nursery, spying Lemonpelt crouching by the edge of the camp. Trotting over to her, she flicked her tail towards the fresh-kill pile. "It looks kinda low," she said as a friendly greeting. "Do you want to come and hunt with me?" She cocked her head to the side, waiting for Lemonpelt's answer.

Lemonpelt curled her tail happily. "Sure, that sounds nice," she mewed, grateful for something to do.

(im new so ill just jump in)
dewdrop came out of her den and stretched and she still looked a bit tired. she walked over to the fresh kill pile and took a fat mouse and brung it to one of the spots that were empty in the clearing and started chewing on it.

Amberpelt padded through the bracken, senses on alert for any prey.

Swanfeather saw the young she-cat off and snuggled into her kits, closing her eyes to rest. Spottedwind laughed and pushed her thrush over to him, letting him have the first bite.
"I slept ok. Why didn't you? Having bad dreams or something?" she questioned lightheartedly.
Lotusleaf smiled slightly dispite himself and answered her.
"Willowcloud will probably be by the river. That is her favorite place to hunt, so we can look over there first." He pauses for a moment, eyes slightly turning dark. "It's odd though. She is entergetic when she hunts, and when I go out to huint with her, I can usually hear when she catches something. I haven't heard anything from the direction she headed."
Suddenly, he shook his head, embarassed.
"Sorry...I shouldn't talk like that." he mews in apology, padding up to her. "We'll return with Willowcloud quickly we can give Showerstar your catch." he added softly, sort of trying to compliment her.

Sensing prey nearby, she dropped into a hunters crouch, stalking forward and pouncing, dispatching a plump squirrel with a quick bite to its neck. Looking around, she spied a thick clump of bracken and dug a shallow hole, burying the squirrel for the return trip.

dewdrop finished the mouse and licked her muzzle and looked around wondering what to do. she was bored so she stayed where she was and started licking her back gently
