Solaria's attention shifted to the unknown male. Her eyes held a mischievous glint followed by a smile. She made her descent down the stairs and perked an eyebrow at the other male.

"It appears Azorath and I are not the only new inhabitants of this castle, Julian." Solaria said.

She gave Julian's friend a lookover before nodding at him. "Solaria Adamant."

Julian sighed and shrugged. No he tended to avoid the opposite sex as a general rule these days but once upon a time he and Nathanial had tested their skills on several women...sometimes even competing with each other just for the bragging rights. Granted that once upon a time had only been a couple of years ago but it felt much longer. Flashing a grin at his old friend he lifted a brow in an unconscious mimicry of his father.
"Wouldn't you like to know."

Nathaniel grinned at Julian.
"Maybe you'll share sometime." he said, passing his friend a look that only they could possibly understand. He shifted his gaze back to the woman who had introduced herself as Solaria and gave a slight bow out of politeness. "I'm Nathaniel. Pleasure to meet you." He began to say more but his stomach chose that moment to make itself heard. Glancing down at it, he snorted softly.
"Julian, buddy, I think my tank is empty.." he said, shifting his gaze to his friend. "You said you'd get me food?"

Biting back a smile Julian also nodded slightly at Solaria as well before turning toward one of the far corridors.
"Come on wolf pup... I'll feed you." he said quietly over his shoulder as he started toward the kitchen.

Letting out a slightly uncivilized whoop, Nathaniel trotted after him, giving Solaria a small wave as he went.

(OOC: Sorry for the tiny post..Had a bit of a brainfart where Nathan was concerned.)

Luminous rays of pale moonlight poured through the breaks in the clouds and reflected over the waters surface. The ocean was calm tonight, the moon not quite full but close...two more nights maybe. it's light was the only thing that prodded Lyra to venture into the darkness....alone at that. She had been roaming the grounds since mid-day though the danger she had placed herself in was foolish on her part, she knew that. However she had felt the need for the air and the solitude. Her thoughts were scattered and she felt that the only time she would ever really be able to be alone with them was when the cause of most of them lay asleep beneath the ground. She knew he was really asleep because she felt his shield but not the...essence of him she supposed was the best was to put it. When he slept truly something in her mind felt off...separated. He had kissed her... and if she were being truthful with herself she hadn't wanted him to stop. Her thoughts flew back to the scene that had occurred in the pools only a few nights ago. She had pulled away from him after registering that she wore no clothing and had stepped back only to fall into the heat of the pool behind her. Lucid had nearly doubled over with laughter....though she had to give him credit he had fought it at first. When she had risen from the pull...angry for once and not sure how to express it other than with her eyes something had flashed in his...a kind of ruthless...hunger was the closest thing she could thing of. But it had been quickly controlled. That was what surprised her most about the whole thing was that the vampire held so much control...truthfully she knew little of him, what he thought, what he felt. Where he came from, how he became what he was. She had never seen his temper but had felt faint flickers of it. He was dangerous...he wore that like a second skin. It didn't matter that she had yet to witness that, she knew it instinctively. And yet...he made her feel safe...cherished even at times. And while it seemed he was very generous with himself it was always only to a certain point. he would give to that point and then pull back...pull away, as if he couldn't bear to give even a part of himself over to another. Oh...he would die for any of those he considered family...that wasn't what she meant. Shaking her head she sighed, she wasn't sure what she meant. Again just another point in fact of how little she knew the man. It was sad how little she knew of herself...sad that she was just starting to learn what sort of person she was. And quite frankly, she wasn't sure she liked the results. The last thing she should be doing is staying in the secluded place, letting her thoughts dwell on a vampire who couldn't afford ties. She was after all a woman that couldn't afford them either and yet...he had called her beautiful.

Lucid stood on the long bridge that connected the two highest towers of his castle, watching the figure he assumed to be Lyra. He'd stirred when he had 'felt' he leave the sanctuary of his home, but only just risen and come up here to keep an actual eye on her. He could have slept longer, keeping a metaphysical eye on here from the safety of his sleeping chamber, but this made him feel better. This sort of long distance babysitting made he feel as though she would forever be safe from harm. Lifting his gaze up, he swept it carefully across the plains first, then over the mountains that stretched away from the Haven along the ocean on the right side, then to the sharp cliffs that dropped into the deceivingly calm waters on the right side. Nothing would be able to come this far into his lands without his knowledge or consent. Nothing ever happened within the walls of his home without those things either..as a general rule. Since his home housed whoever happened by, he had to be the most strict here, lest someone turn out to be too dangerous. One could never be too careful.
Shifting his attention back to the figure of Lyra, he stepped silently from the edge of the bridge, using his vanishing to close the distance between the ground and himself. He then moved with preternatural speed to where she was, stopping just short of her back.
"It is unwise to wander this place alone." he said very softly. "It can even be dangerous.."

Accepting the faint surprise of hearing his voice, she forced the tension that tried to take hold of her away with relative ease. Not bothering to turn her head, Lyra sighed.
"Yes...but am I ever truly alone?" she asked softly. There was no resentment in her tone only acceptance. She had never questioned Lucid's protectiveness before but now she wondered at it's cause. He was fiercely protective of everyone within the walls of the Haven but it seemed she was the only one who was never...never left completely alone. If it wasn't his eyes on her it was anothers. Odd...is that because my presence is a danger to the others here or perhaps having discovered the rarity of my race pushed it further. All she knew was that it had seemed to increase over time. Pushing the matter aside for the moment she watched the waves wash almost gently upon the shore. Almost seeming to caress the sand and the base of the cliffs rather than crash against them with it's usual harnessed violence. Tilting her head, she let a small smile curve her lips. What a perfect analogy for the man that stood behind her. The ocean...Lucid reminded her very much of it's waters, deceptive...even gentle at times. Fierce violent and powerful at others. Nothing that could be controlled certainly...and something that should always be respected..if not feared. Unpredictable...and the greatest mistake one could make was to underestimate it. Perhaps she did know him a bit...although with decent observation skills she could probably share her thought with anyone at the Haven, they would probably have come to the same realizations. Lifting her face to the breeze she breathed in the scent of the sea, a mixture of salt, sand and the unknown.

Lucid extended his arms, placing them with care about her form. Exerting pressure, he pulled her backward into his embrace as he inhaled her scent. She smelled good, but then, she always did. Lowering his head a fraction, he rested his chin gently upon her head and lifted one shoulder in a shrug.
"I suppose that would depend on your definition of alone." he said. "I have been told that my own definition differs from most."

Not bothering to resist Lyra let herself be pulled back against Lucid. Knowing better than to let her worries consume her mind while he was awake and most especially touching her she pushed her thoughts aside, knowing that at some point she would have an opportunity to pull them back out again. She had needed the break from them anyway. As it was she had tried to find logic in any of the recent events from every angle imaginable...nothing really worked. Tilting her head back so she could meet Lucid's gaze with her own she smiled up at him, her eyes lighting with humor.
"You definition of most things seems to differ from everyone else." she answered teasingly.
"Besides...I meant I was never alone enough to be in any real danger. You and I both know it."

"The rules still apply, regardless of the danger level." he said, meeting her gaze with his own. "The only direction that the castle is not fully protected is up, and it wouldn't take much to come swooping down and stealing you away." He gave her the 'do as I say or else' look, knowing full well that it probably wouldn't faze her a bit. He then lifted his gaze up and out over the ocean. "It is worth coming out here for though, isn't it?" he said softly, taking in the view.

Lyra's smile slowly faded, the light in her eyes dimming slightly. Lowering her gaze she turned her head back toward the water.
"Yes..it is." her voice was a bare whisper of sound, but she knew he would hear her. Sighing she closed her eyes and relaxed back against him.
"Lucid.." she broke off, not sure what she had been about to say or even what she wanted to say. Shaking her head, she watched the waves for a moment.
"Never mind."

Lucid frowned, then slowly forced her to turn in his arms so that she faced him.
"Say whatever it was that you were going to say, Lyra." he said quietly. "I don't like being left wondering."

Solaria gazed after the two men as they left her. She had hoped to converse more with them, but apparently they had their own agendas. Suddenly she did not feel like wandering the castle any longer. Everyone had someone to talk to. Everyone except her.

She'd conversed with a couple of people: Julian included, other than that... There was her friend, Azorath, who at the moment was still probably pissed at her, and Gabriel was probably busy doing something else now. She sighed, making her way to wherever her feet took her, completely going against the feeling of just going and staying in her chambers.

Unable to hold the intensity of his gaze for long, Lyra lowered hers and absently pulled at her lower lip with her teeth.
"I really don't know what I was going to say...the past few days...have been confusing at best." she answered, wanting to give him something.
