"We have an agreement then. Though we both know this will be a very shaky trust between the races, it's something that must be done. An equilibrium must be kept." Ceon knew that this news to the other lycans would not go over all too well, but they were in no position to question his authority. Not only had he fought and killed his way to the top, but the other lycans had come to learn to trust his judgement. If the the enemy of his enemy was his friend, then he would have no choice but to call upon unsuspecting allies.

The blood dripped from Rogue's wrist like rubies, which lurched Ceon's primal blood-lust awake."Let it be so, then." Ceon bit into his wrist with his elongated canine fangs and let his source flow freely. He then lifted it up to Rogue and happily bit into Rogues open wound. This blood, the blood of a vampire elder, was sweeter than sugar, like no other vampire he had tasted. His eyes quickly turned black, and within seconds, his blind eyes became unclouded, allowing him to see the blood pact they were making together.

His teeth latched on to her flesh, and she let her own teeth sink into his wrist where the blood was already flowing. Lycan blood always tasted like a fine wine to her...and the more violent the creature, the better the taste. Ceon's blood was no exception. Memories of Ceon's flashed in her mind through the blood. She pushed these to the side...she did not have the strength to even being to sort through past and present.

She was aware of her own hunger in that moment, and released his wrist. They had only drank for a quick moment, but while the blood flowed, some moments felt like eternity, and the Sanguinarian beast rattled the cage on her insides.

She smiled politely to Ceon as he could now see her, and took her wrist back. As she spoke she stood, walking a few steps to the table, her back facing him. "Now that we are in agreement, I suppose I should let you collect your thoughts." She grabbed a syringe and with inhuman speed, she moved to him and shoved it into his neck. The dose was light, but enough to knock Ceon out for a good half hour. As he was going under, she spoke quietly.
"I apologize again for this, but I must keep some things...private. You'll wake shortly, don't worry."

Regardless if he knew he was somewhere in Las Noches or not...the schematics of this place were something she liked to keep hidden from prying eyes and ears. The tunnels and maze to get to this location in the club were...not completely complicated, but in the future days, she never knew what side anyone would be on. Anonymity was important to her survival, and those she cared about.

Milos knocked on the door.
"Return Ceon to one of the hotels we own. Leave a fresh change of clothes for him, and a cell phone for contacting me. Oh, and give him a room with a good view." She looked over her shoulder at his body. You need a drink before you lose control... The words snaked through her mind, and she left the room, returning to where Meredith was being held and where Alexz was.

"I realize these questions seem redundant since you have already answered them, but what kind of leader would I be if I just accepted your answers without hearing them for myself?" she asked in response to Meredith's blatant impatience.

Alexz took a step forward as a chair tucked in a corner silently glided across the room to her side. Sliding into the seat as it came to a stop, she met Meredith's gaze with her own, which began to take on a hypnotic quality as the dark shadows within her pupils danced and swirled. Stretching her arm across the space that divided them, her hand hovered momentarily over Meredith's forearm.

"This will expedite the process," she explained before gently resting her fingers on her warm skin.

Immediately upon contact a powerful mental connection was formed; with ease, Alexz bypassed the various mental blocks and walls Meredith had created over the years. Like a bullet, she pierced layer upon layer before lodging herself in the inner workings of the hunter's brain, where a flood of memories was unleashed like water rushing from a dam. Had Alexz lacked control, she would have been completely incapable of analyzing any one memory from the flood; however, luckily, this was not the case. Taking a slow breath, she began to sift through the information she was receiving, focusing solely on the time period closest to the incident.

As she did so, she asked, "You swear your intentions are pure? That you are not involved? That you will do all in your power to discover who is behind all of this? That you can be trusted with the information Rogue chooses to give you? That you will not use it to turn against us?"

Shifting her focus to the areas of the mind which would indicate honesty, she waited, acknowledging Rogue's entrance with a nod without breaking eye contact with Meredith.

The vampire elders, considering their means of detaining her here, were lucky they received any form of cooperation whatsoever from the lycan hunter leader. To have her integrity as a person questioned only served to further annoy her. As far as Meredith was concerned she was being quite reasonable considering all circumstances.

As for the elder entering her mind, there was no effort of the sort required on the elder's part. Alexz encountered no barriers whatsoever, Eden being strictly a person of her word. Likewise, Alexz would find that the lycan was truthful in all of her statements and that her resolve to find out who was behind the attacks of the safehouses matched that of the vampire elders themselves. Innocent people and creatures alike were not to be killed, it was a rule she strictly enforced with her hunters. Therefore, the bombing of a safehouse was looked down upon heavily from Meredith's point of view.

"I swear," Eden stated mindlessly akin to a bored child who'd been asked about a point their teacher had already beaten dead in class, "I am not involved in any way. I already offered my assistance in matters, how much access and how I help is up to yourself and Rogue. I can be trusted with the information I am given, I already stated that any information she gives to me will be held within my personal confidence. I will not use it to turn against you but if you become hostile toward me naturally I will react in kind."

All the while Alexz stared into her eyes, she held her wolven counterpart back from mentally lashing out at the elder. The last thing she needed was a vampire to use an excuse to go after her or her hunters. It was clear that they needed to take more precautions. Had she been captured with the intent of being killed Meredith would be dead now. She was not about to be caught with her thumb up her a** again. Such an incident was never going to happen again, of that she would make sure.

Remove your mind as the needle touches flesh...She spoke the words into Alexz's mind as she stood watch.
With inhuman speed, she slipped the same sedative she had used on Ceon moments earlier into Meredith's neck.

As Meredith would be slipping under, she spoke softly.
"It is finished. A deal has been struck. We will return you to the world, and you will receive information shortly through our channels. Thank you for your honesty and cooperation...you are in no danger...you will awake within the hour."

As Meredith slipped under, another of her trusted employees arrived at the door. She was to be brought to the same hotel they had placed Ceon in with similar instructions for fresh clothes, and a cell phone to be contacted with. She also insisted to give the hunter leader a good view and put her in the room next to Ceon. Rogue figured that Meredith would want to know he was alive. Rogue knew Meredith's wolf would be able to scent him out.

She turned to Alexz, her eyes wandering over her appearance again.
"Let's get you a little something, friend." She lifted a hand to the door, and ushered her to go up into her office where they could have some privacy, a drink, and a chat.

It was child's play making his way into the hidden catacombs that twisted through the underbelly of Las Noches. He had been down there many times back when he worked with Alasdair, and he still remembered the layout quite well. He moved silently, one with the shadows in a way that only a Void Master could be.

The Assassin turned Void Master had heard about the incident that had caused the truce to be broken between the Vampires and Lycans. After all, that was why he had come back to New York. He had been gone for quite a long time, without a goodbye to anyone, after his battle with Alexz and Rogue. But, the incident was ended with a truce, and Veroen was once again a member of his original coven.

He hadn't shown his face in the city since then however, and for good reason.

His tall shadowy figure manifested itself outside of the door of the room that Rogue, Alexz, and Meredith were in. He recognized a few familiar scents, and his vampire heart skipped a beat when he recognized Meredith's scent among the scents inside. He hadn't spoken to Meredith since that battle between him and the elders, and he didn't quite know how to feel about it. He had rid himself of any and all attachments, or tried to, yet some small part of him still longed for Meredith, and he didn't realize it until her scent filled his Vampire nostrils. Wondering what Meredith was doing here, he also caught the scent of another Lycan in another room somewhere, whom he recognized as well.

'Ceon..' he thought to himself curiously. He hesitated for a moment, staring at himself in the reflection of the metallic door that was in front of him.

His hair was long and dark, reaching down past his shoulders like tentacles of the void, and a fine coating of equally dark facial hair extended from one side of his jawline to the other, making him seem more... human. His eyes were crimson, but his right eye, the eye he had once lost, slightly pulsated with dark power, a sign of an artificially created organ made from the void. His eyes continues down, observing his appearance for a few long moments, though it was only a few seconds in human contemplation.

His long black leather jacket was torn and ragged at the bottom where the back of his calves touched it, a sign of wear and tear from the long years of not replacing it. Neither of his pistols or his sword were on him, for he could easily manifest them into his hands using the void.

Veroen finally raised a scarred fist up to the door, and gently knocked three times, as was his custom to do so before entering a room with others in it.

The Void Master let his hand drop to his side, patiently waiting for an answer from inside.

He did not know what was going on, but he knew he would soon find out.

Almost immediately after being injected, Eden's features became lined with evident confusion and urgency. She could have sworn she'd picked of the faintest hint of ... no it wasn't, it couldn't be Veroen's scent. Unwanted longing and emotions long ago buried hit her like a tidal wave and just before the sedative fully kicked in she was able to project to him a single worded question. Her voice sounded raw and vulnerable, like a wound that had never fully healed had just been reopened in full. Disbelief underlined her tone as well. It was a feeble, extremely skeptical attempt to reach out to someone she'd considered dead years ago.

'Veroen ... ?'

Delicate, like a frightened child's voice her question played into his head but skeptical like someone who'd seen a ghost of someone they'd seen die. However, her connection was not maintained due to the sedative so heavily weighing her down. It would be evident to Rogue that Meredith was trying to fight it with a passion that had been absent within her when they'd fought at the park. It wasn't out of instinct that she fought this time, but out of desperateness and a love she had thought died long ago. However, she succumbed to the injection and was carted off prematurely of reuniting with Veroen for what would be her third time.

As they neared the door, she felt the void before the knock came. Her tired mind and body ached and she wondered who would even dare come to the catacombs without her knowledge or consent. Her guards would have let her know someone was coming, unless it was someone...powerful enough to completely move in the shadow world of the void.

Her eyes darted to the handle, her eyes lighting like green flames. She opened the door to find Veroen. The facial hair was different than she remembered, but the rest was the same....they all were somewhat timeless in that way...frozen in time with only their eyes revealing the truth of their years.

"Veroen...it has been a long time..."
Her voice was guarded. Her own fight with the void became a reality when Rogue and Alexz fought him all those years ago. That day changed everything, and the balance of who she was before was gone. She had to fight tooth and nail to keep control in her own mind, lest the void rip loose the Sanguinarian beast that was. She took an involuntary breath and tried to tighten her thoughts that flared...
"You look well...what brings you here?"

Veroen heard the small flicker of Meredith's voice in his mind, and it froze him for a few long moments. He did not know what to think, or how to feel. It was almost overwhelming.

He did not know how long he stood there, frozen by her voice, before suddenly realizing that he was staring at Rogue in front of him.

His eyes darting into the room in front of him, only to find that Meredith was not inside. For a split moment he questioned himself on whether or not he had smelt what he smelt, or heard what he heard.

It took a moment for him to realize that Rogue was speaking to him.

Snapping back into reality, his eyes met Rogues, and he half smiled.

"I can say the same for you, Rogue..." He said, before glancing at Alexz who was also in the room. "Alexz, on the other hand, looks like she's seen much better days..."

He returned his crimson eyes to Rogue, answering her question. "Isn't it obvious? Surely you wouldnt think that news of this, incident..." he said with a pause while taking another glance around the room, "...wouldn't reach me, now would you?"

He looked back at Rogue again. "Its been a long time, and I'm curious as to how my two sisters have been doing during my absence." He said, referring to them as his own siblings. Veroen was not here to start a pointless war with Rogue and Alexz, for the truce they had struck had, in Veroens mind, reset his standing with the Coven, returning them to the "family" status in Veroens heart.

Her eyes softened as he spoke to them as 'sisters'. "We have been struggling to stay alive in your absence, of course...."
Rogue smirked as her tone was dripping with sarcasm. "Of course...you've heard of the incident. No doubt a lycan or two have come across your path looking for trouble?"

She looked quickly to Alexz, knowing if Alexz wanted to, she could read every thought and emotion running through Rogue's mind.
I suppose he is family...
Her thoughts landed on the void for a moment, and then her mind returned to the pressing matters at hand.

"....we ran into...two lycans in leadership in Central Park. More over...Xander, Xandra and I...took them down here for a bit of.....questioning. We have only just finished..."

"A little of anything would be much appreciated...especially after roaming around in that one's mind," she said, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips.

Their progress up to Rogue's office, however, was interrupted by the approach of a familiar dark presence. She halted, reaching out with her mind to ascertain whether it was simply a quiver in the Void or Veroen himself returning to New York. When his presence was confirmed by a knock on the door, she froze, unsure of how to feel by his unexpected arrival. As the door opened and he came into view, Alexz remained motionless, only her eyes moving to take in the surprising changes in his appearance. Her gaze came to a halt as her eyes locked with his own, which had changed the most since their last encounter.

Snapping from her daze as he spoke of her, she admitted, "Much better days indeed...even when I was on the brink of death I didn't look so...bloody awful." Even at her lowest, Alexz could retain her sense of humor.

"How could we expect the news to reach you when we've had no idea where you've been?" she asked, "I hadn't even heard of any of this until moments ago...but then again, I have been a tad preoccupied trying to stay sane."

She hadn't struggled with controlling her body and mind for centuries until the Void coiled and lodged itself within her. Since that day, she had started to slip, but she refused to let go.

Glancing momentarily at Rogue as she spoke, she replied. "I suppose he is...families do try killing each other every now and again, " her hand moved to her mouth to hide the smirk she couldn't keep from forming.

"Welcome back, brother, you sure chose a lovely time for your return."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 12, 2013 11:29 pm

Veroen smirked at the jest that came from Alexz. She hadn't lost her sense of humor, which was good, considering he had almost killed her the last time the three of them were reunited. He was glad that he hadn't.

Turning his gaze back to Rogue, he replied to her. "A few Lycans, yes. They weren't eager to talk, but a Deathdealer can be quite persuasive when it comes to the anatomy of werewolves." He grinned, showing a bit a fang as he did so. Veroen was a Void Master, but he was previously a Deathdealer, a Lycan Assassin. His expertise was Lycan Anatomy, other than Void using.

He stepped into the room, assuming he was invited in by the non hostile greeting he received from the two of them.

He continued forward until he stopped at one of the walls, and turned around and leaned his back to the wall while crossing his arms. He paused for a moment.

"So tell me details. I swear I thought I smelt Meredith and Ceon... Did my nose deceive me? Or were the two Lycans you captured happen to be both of them?"

He glanced from Alexz, to Rogue expectantly. He could feel the presence of the Void within them both, and a quizzical look came abut his face. It would seem both of them had done as he had done. 'Family indeed...' he thought to himself.

Only moments before, Rogue had nearly killed her own flesh and blood....it was true. She lifted an eyebrow and a sarcastic smirk was directed at Alexz.
Yes...it does seem that your sense of humor is well in tact.

"We are indeed persuasive..."
She returned her gaze to Veroen.
"Meredith and Ceon were the two lycans captured....we took the normal precautions in questioning, but Meredith was quite cooperative."
Her mind flashed to Xandra's rage she had felt and the damage Xandra had done to Ceon. Her hand flexed into a fist for a brief moment, then relaxed. "Ceon cooperated with me, but before I got to him, my sister, Xandra... she had an impromptu chat with him, and he was not so lucky under the circumstances. For what we were trying to accomplish, she almost started a more permanent war with the lycans by, well...nearly killing the lycan leader and disobeying direct orders..."

She looked down at the floor for a moment, knowing the only reason Xandra was alive was because Kaei had shown mercy to her sister. The pain she had to inflict upon Xandra made her heart hurt.
...but if we don't fight for control of the monster within, we are no better than the beasts at our door....the moment we stop fighting and give in is the moment we sign our lives purely to the death that awaits us....
The words echoed in her mind as she came back to reality.
"That matter aside, Ceon and I performed a blood oath. A treaty has been struck...and we have cooperation from the hunters...they're on a need to know basis for the remainder of this investigation. I think we've all agreed that it is in each of our interests to keep our species out of the limelight of this city, and whoever is trying to break the laws we have in place seems to be trying very hard to get us all to make mistakes."
PostPosted: Wed Feb 13, 2013 7:25 pm

"If by quite cooperative you mean quite arrogant, then yes, she was," she commented dryly.

Turning back into the room, she chose a spot on the wall closest to Rogue to lean against. Sensing her anger and frustration towards the altercation between her and her sister made Alexz feel a bit bad about her previous comment, which she hadn't intense to be insulting in any way.

"Sister or not, she was completely out of line, Rogue, she is lucky to have been spared. She nearly jeopardized everything by only thinking of herself. Had I been in your situation, I would have done the same," she spoke into her mind in what she hoped was a reassuring tone.

"We have been in the limelight all too much as of late, the last thing we need is another scandal. The authorities in this city have already seen far too much, I would hate for there to be another media frenzy as we had many years ago with of that business with Mauser," she said with a sigh.

Veroen closed his eyes, and bent his head down slightly, deep in thought. He wondered who was behind this attack, and why. After a moment his mind wandered to the voice of Meredith saying his name before she was transported out of there. A small part of him wanted to find her, and embrace her again, as he once did before he left. The larger part of him, the part of him that was the product of the Void, felt nothing, just emptiness. Though he had a very tight grip on it, the Void had changed him, and it had become the majority of his very existence, all because of Kasuya Minitashi. His time away form the city had been spent in solitude, mastering the Void beyond most Vampires contemplation to keep himself from going insane.

He wondered if he was insane..

Veroen opened his eyes and looked to Alexz. "I never did get the chance to apologize for trying to kill you both. Consider this an official apology." He grinned slightly at the corner of his mouth as he finished his sentence. Figuring out this questionable situation, meant sticking together with his family, and he would do just that.

He uncrossed his arms and held out an empty hand with his palm facing upwards, still looking at Alexz. A glimmer appeared in his left eye, the artificially created eye from the Void, followed by a manifestation of shadow in the palm of his hand that spun around like a palm sized tornado. After a mere moment, the shadow dissipated, leaving a blood bag in his grip. He always kept blood bags in his place of residence in the wilderness, and manifesting them to his location using the Void was an easy task.

He tossed it at Alexz casually.

"Human blood. A female Virgin, actually. The good stuff. You look like you need it much more than I would." He returned his arm back to its folded position in front of his chest. "I know you are a psychic and all, but your physical body needn't be neglected." He said with a slight smile.

Turning back to Rogue, he asked her, "So what exactly does Meredith and Ceon know about all of this? Are there any leads?"
