i dunno. Fett doesn't seem to have much interest in Cale. persuing him was basically killing time while he was standing by with imperius...

Cale Darksun
I don't quite get it... sweatdrop

The scene is thus:

Connor McCloud, being an immortal, chopped off another immortal's head. Of course, the police need a suspect, but Connor has outwitted them, since he has neither motive or a weapon (which he cleverly stashed away).

In the meantime, the coppers go to the hotdog stand and get a hotdog. the vendor is reading a paper, which has the headline "Police bamboozled". so the vender starts poking fun at the cops.

"Hey, what does 'bamboozled' mean?"
"Don't you know, cops can't read!"
"Hey, what does 'incompetent' mean?"

That's the scene. I'm thinking cale's so smart he's made a laughingstock of the Bounty hunter community.

watch the movies. First one is great. The rest are okay... kind of destroy it.

Like the first one says their immortals, the sequel says they are aliens, the third one has genghis kahn being a magician... really no singular plot line.

the fourth one ties the tv series to the movie, with duncan and conner. Gets the story somewhat back on track...

I'm a highlander fanatic actually... I own the unofficial soundtrack, Queen: Its a kind of Magic. Oddly, there isn't a specific soundtrack for the movie. There were like, 5 versions of a soundtrack coem out, but they were all different in the differnt countries released...

I love Kurgan's theme... Princes is by far and away though prolly the coolest thing Queen did involving synthesizers...

I admit it is a pretty cool song.

Kurgan's theme has an interesting intro.

Starts off with the radio broadcast from the movie.

".... Water from the sprinklers. It also left a man's decapitated body, lying on the floor next to his own severed head. The head which at this time, has no name."

Kurgan(demonvoice): "I know his name"

And then song.

Just go and watch the first highlander, also known as Highlander: the Gathering. I think you'll enjoy it. Princes of the universe is the first thing you hear after Sean Connery's voice.

Oh, I forgot. Connery stars in the movies as well, along with one of my personal favorite actors, Christopher Lambeau. Who also does a pretty damn good impersonation of Beowulf (came out in a movie), even though the movie rips out the poem's guts... but interesting to watch anyway if you're into human killing demon a**.

I don't think we can classify Grendel as a demon.

7000th post!

He kind of is... born the son of a dragon mother... but he's a demon through and through. I think.

Now I'm second guessing my self.

his mother wasn't a dragon.
now for him to be a demon, he must be born in hell.
he was born in the mortal realm, therefore he is not a demon. if we were to give him a title, it would be Cain Spawn, being that he is descened from that traitorous son of Adam.

Actually his mother is a dragon. She flies away with the advisor, and then goes to her watery lair.

Reason why I know this is because many sources do make the statement she is a dragon.

In "the flight of Dragons" by some guy (damn i can't remember the name), he explores how dragon culture could have existed. With a female dragon, many of them could have been watercreatures, for reasons which I have forgotten.

but most sources list his mother as some sort of dragon creature. That is the certainty I can give.

when I find where my copy of Beowulf went, I'll recheck the text. But the description is pretty on with that of a dragon.

i know another place stated that Beowulf fights two dragons. One he kills, the other kills him.

And I think, though i may be just imagining it, that when the second dragon is awoken, Beowulf is driven to destroy it himself, as he is confident he could "do the deed again" or something or other.

I need my book... Wherever the hell it went.

no no no. he kills just one dragon. It kills him as well sadly.
what I got from the epic was that Grendel's Mum was some kind of humanoid monster. nothing draconic.

I'm going by my research on dragons. When it comes to water dragons, Beowulf isn't necessarily a popular example, but its in more than one book too as an example to illustrate a point. They make sure to state the mother of grendel is that as well. They try to say that (if I remember right) a dragon when it is young cannot fully create enough gas to fly. and females are often weak anyway. Continueing on this fact, they have to stay alive by other means than flying (like a blimp, not like a bird). So the head is armored, while the rest of the body isn't. And females are slower and also less inclined to chase after prey (partially due to safety from males), or they can't fly, so they prefer to fish. Hence, water. And think like a crocodile, they have their nests near water, or perhaps even in water...

Its been a while. Just watch Highlander and perhaps Beowulf.
