[OOC:] Nothing? Jethrow nodded, standing and putting his arm around her shoulders. "Let's go," he said softly. It was dark in the castle, and Jethrow was pretty sure the kitchens would be closed, but that didn't mean he couldn't get her food. Sure enough, when they walked into the dining hall, there were a few students in pyjamas eating late night snacks. He set her down at their usual booth in the back and piled a couple plates with cookies, bags of chips, and cold cut sandwiches. There was enough food for both of them if they were both very hungry, and he put the plates down in front of Icarus, sitting beside her.

Icarus walked with Jethrow down to the dining hall and sat down at a table. It was late, but she was still hungry. So she waited until Jethrow brought the food and she thanked him, taking a cookie. It felt good to get something on her stomach, her smiling a little. That and the sugar helped brightened her mood a little. She then looked to the vampire and smiled some. "Thanks for staying with me... You have no idea how comforting that is."

Jethrow looked down at Icarus and her smile from the sugar. He pushed a smile back at her and kissed her forehead. "Of course. You needed me, so I was there." He took a pack of chips and started digging in. He found an odd craving for human food right then...

Icarus smiled more and continued to eat, nibbling on the cookies. She then grabbed a bag of chips as well and started eating those. Soon she finished off the cookies and a few more bag of chips before looking to Jethrow. "Thanks again. This made me feel a lot better. You helped too." she said, gently grabbing onto one of his hands and smiling softly.

This time when Jethrow smiled, it was more genuine, prompted by her, and a few chip crumbs that were on the corner of her mouth. He brushed them away with his thumb, before unwrapping two sandwiches and checking to see what was in them. "Urgh," he said, wrinkling his nose upon the discovery of mayonnaise. "Would you like something else to drink?" he asked, since he was planning on getting himself a drink.

Icarus blushed a little as Jethrow wiped some crumbs from her mouth, but she smiled. She unwrapped hers, but also grimaced to find mayo there as well. She set it aside before her boyfriend asked her a question. "Just some water will be fine." she said with a soft smile before she thought some. The girl then got up and headed to the kitchen before smiling to Jethrow. "Want to make some brownies?"

Jethrow looked hesitantly at the kitchen. He was standing at the tea station, brewing some good old English tea. "I'm not sure if you want me to venture close to the stove. I have burnt many things, water included." His tea finished, and he lifted the mug up, drinking the hot tea despite its heat. He wouldn't burn, though, so he was fine. But he was utterly serious about the burning thing...

Icarus shrugged a little and headed back into the kitchen. She then started to get all the things together and smiled. "Alright. Let's get cracking." she said, smirking. After a bit of mixing and waiting for half an hour, Icarus soon came out with a platter stacked with warm, fresh brownies. "Fresh brownies! Someone want one?" she called. She had made a lot... maybe some of the other students would like one.

Just as Jethrow had taken a brownie of the tray and taken a bite, the other students in the dining hall (apparently there were more than he thought) swarmed, thanking Icarus for the brownies and grabbing them wildly. By the time they were gone, Jethrow looked frozen, half eaten brownie in his hand and half drunk tea in his mug.

Icarus got a brownie to every student who wanted one, but by the time the swarm moved on, there weren't any left. Icarus pouted a little as she stared down at the empty platter. "Aw man... I wanted one too..." she grumbled before smiling and shrugging. "Oh well. Back into the kitchen to make more."

Jethrow followed Icarus in and finished up his brownie. "I would've given you the rest of mine, but it was just too delicious to give up," he teased, forgetting his darker mood from earlier. He looked over to the pan she'd just set down and picked up a couple of crumbs, popping them in his mouth and washing it down with his tea. [OOC:] PS: your anniversary present is in the OOC thread.

Icarus got started on the next batch, getting out another pan so she could make more and still have some left over to take back to her room and squirrel away for future snacking. She then gathered all the ingredients again and mixed up two more batches and got them in the oven. After setting the timer, she smiled some. "And now we wait."

Jethrow raised his eyebrows and offered the glass of water he'd gotten for Icarus towards her, while sipping his own mug of tea. "I'm excited. Those brownies are delicious. Where did you learn the recipe?"

Icarus took the water and sipped on it as she waited for the brownies. She smiled some when he said he really liked the brownies. "While I was in Nimbasa, I used to stay at a bookstore. The nicest old couple lived there. Treated me like family. They taught me how to make these, said my future kids would love them. They even let me sleep in the store and read all night." she explained, drinking some more water before sighing. "But they closed right before I was ordered to come here. I kind of miss that store..."

Jethrow listened as Icarus talked about her past experiences. He didn't often hear about Nimbasa, but he knew that it was a huge part of her life. Putting down his now empty mug, he walked over to her and hugged her to him. He didn't say anything, just held her. I would miss her...
