Me: So you're a Klink, eh? Well, let's see what Frillish can do besides paralyzing me. *My pink jelly-ghost appears* Me: Let's start with a Bubble Beam! *A great stream of bubbles appears and the gears start turning slower* *Klink then chucks itself as two gears and does a double hit with Gear Grind* Me: Night Shade! *Klink takes more damage* *Klink then sends a Shock Wave, severely injuring Frillish* Me: Let's end this now. Ultra Ball, go! Wiggle... Wiggle... Wiggle... DING! Me: Cool.

~A Nightingale in a golden cage... "Well, I guess that's pretty much it. I'll explore the cave more on a later date. I just remembered I got stuff to do. See ya!" With that, Maddy rushed out of the cave and took off into the sky.... that's me locked inside reality's maze.

*Teleports in with Xatu* "Hm, wonder if anyone's here tonight?" I ask the seemingly empty room.

Ginji and his new Drizzletoed hide behind the couch in rain coats. The Politoed opens its mouth and it starts raining again in HQ. Ginji trying to to stop himself from laughing.

"... That's new." The rain doesn't faze me much, but I do go over to the PC and exchange a pokeball.
"Tyrannus, if you please?" My Golduck emerges and activates Cloud Nine, creating a rain-proof bubble around us. "Now to see where this is coming from." I begin looking around the room for any water-type or other Pokemon with Rain Dance.

Ginji couldn't take it any longer. "Thard! I caught a Politoed with Drizzle!" the teen smiled as he appeared in his rain jacket from behind the couch.

"With... Drizzle?" Although my tone was inquisitive, I was clearly scanning Ginji to see if he was trying to pull one over on me. Tyrannus was still creating a rain-proof shield, but now Phione had found its way in and was happily splashing about in the steadily rising water.

"Yeah, see for yourself." Ginji smirked as he pulled out a digital trading card of the Politoed. "Notice the that it was caught in, and the ability." he said as they would read Dream Ball and Drizzle respectfully.

Glancing over the card, I slowly accept the odd truth. "Interesting. So is this what the Dream Ball is capable of? Unlocking hidden abilities that Pokemon could only dream of using?"

"Looks like it. I think it has to do with the Pokemon's inner desires. Like a Machamp might have an ability like Steadfast or Inner Focus I would assume." Ginji smiled as he returned Drizzletoed, stopping the downpour in HQ. "Wouldn't want to ruin the furniture." he smiled again.

As the rain disappears, so too does the bubble created by Cloud Nine. "Good work, buddy." I return Tyrannus to his ball.
"So, you think Machamp feel themselves prone to flinching and dream of an Ability to do something about it? I guess... but they still tear things up with No Guard."

"Well if you are in a heavyweight fight, you still get two for flinching." Ginji joked as he thought about it. "I don't know, I don't think we've covered the intricate nature of the Dreamball, or the implications it has for battles to come."

Rex woke up abruptly. He always seemed to fall asleep around here. Then he looked up and saw his own Joltik was sapping energy from him. "Hey you!" Rex tugged Joltik off. "You don't sap my energy, dork." He said, scratching Joltik's back. He was thinking about the dream he had been having.
He was walking in a mysterious forest. The trees seemed to have a faint baby blue glow in the leaves. "What is this place?" He asked himself. A small yellow Pokemon ran in front of him. He checked the TADS, it was a Pikachu and it was a wild one. So he battled it with his Cyndaquil until it had been weak enough to catch. He threw a Pokeball, but it bounced right back at him. "Wha?" He exclaimed. That's when he had woke up. "Why had the Pokeball not worked?" He asked himself.

"You're right, Ginji. If Pokemon start showing up with unexpected abilities, that throws the entire battlegame into new territory. Hopefully we can capitalize on this knowledge before any of the ... less-friendly Teams ... figures it out."
Turning to Rex, I ask, "Why did what Pokeball not work?"
