Lance nearly spilled his drink at Rogue's glance but managed set it down just barely suppressing a whimper. He wanted to look away casually but only managed to let his eyes sink to the floor. He was intimidated as all hell. Stepping away from the bar and keeping his gaze down he started towards the nearest exit. "Oh god, her eyes glowed!!!" In his haste to get away though, he unfortunately bumped into Carissa, the hypnotized teenage girl.

Gabriel put a hand on the young mans shoulder just after he had bumped the girl and smiled cordially at him not issuing a similar threat but obviously not trying to hide his nature.

"Clarissa I think it is time that you went home now, it is getting late dear."

The girl blankly stood up and walked out of the club and no one paid her any attention as she left. When she awoke the next morning it would appear to her as if she had blacked out, how she made it home probably would puzzle her but being home she would be resigned to accepting it since she was safe.

"You should be more careful and not so hasty."

He patted the young mans shoulder and sat down next to Rogue where Clarissa had just been and picked up what was intended as her drink. The alcohol was a nice aroma and although it would give him no nutrition he sipped on it, it should not go to waste. Rogue had indeed dressed up tonight, she was exquisite his Master should be jealous he is missing out...to his knowledge he is anyway. Reaching up he removed his shaded glasses revealing his ever red eyes, never glowing unless angry but red as if it was natural a color as any. He winked at the young man before looking at Rogue.

"Its good you're alive and in one piece still. I get to stay alive and in one piece. Well...not alive but you know what I mean."

"Buh-wha-yes, thank you..." Lance stammered out and scurried towards the door equal parts scared and confused.

"You..." an amused smile crept through her features as she crossed her legs and slightly leaned forward resting an arm on the bar.
"I should have known. How long now have you been keeping track of my whereabouts, if I may ask?" She picked up her drink and took a long sip, delicately, with her pinky up, and never letting her eyes leave him.

"I follow you often, but not in the creepy kind of way of course. I just watched, except of course if its something private."

The drink was decent but it was liken to something you did nor hate but you just tolerated it. People think blood tastes metallic and gross but to them it was good, better than anything eaten or drank in mortality yet never as good as the first time. He tapped his finger on the counter but it was nearly inaudible with the music in the background, contemplating what he should do. Technically he didn't have to talk to her as long as she stayed alive but it seemed rude to just watch constantly at least if he could create some kind of friendship or be acquaintance's then it would make things easier.

"You seem to be able to handle yourself very well however. From what I hear the city survived an encounter with my predecessor as you yourself did. I hope you do not mind me being here, in the city?"

She smirked.
"That depends. Who is your predecessor."

The bartender looked her way and she pointed to her glass. He nodded and came down the bar refilling.

In the alleyway across the street from Las Noches, sat a diseased rat, nibbling on a tiny piece of trash. Mortals occasionally walked by the opening of the alleyway, but none bothered to look down the dark corridor due to lack of interest. The rat stopped and sniffed the air.

There was silence. It was late, and the amount of pedestrians on the street had eventually thinned. The rat sensed something...something evil, demonic even....

It made a small squeak and tried to scurry away as a fiery vortex manifested out of thin air, pulling everything in the alleyway into it like a vacuum. The rat disappeared into the vortex, and thousands of tormented screams could be heard from the depths of the portal for a few moments. A dark hooded figure stepped out of the hellish portal, and it closed behind him, and there was silence again, and the air became calm.

The figure stood there for a minute, with a devious smile as he recognized Las Noches. The smile disappeared, and he stepped out of the alleyway, revealing a dark appearance; The figure was wrapped with dark leather made from the hides of countless demons, and he was covered by a large hooded trench-coat that was little more than an optical illusion to hide his appearance from the mortals inhabiting the earth. Transparent black wings protruded from his back, with a burnt appearance. Mortals, however, would not be able to see the wings. Only immortal creatures of the night with a keen eye would be able to make them out.

The figure was in fact one of the Fallen. The Fallen were once angels, like their master, Lucifer, until they were cast down into the fiery pits of Hell. Shinigami was this demons name. He was known for dragging countless infinite souls into the deepest darkest pits of Hell, and for being one of Lucifer's strongest demons.

The hood overshadowed most, if not all of Shinigami's face as he slowly walked towards the front doors of Las Noches. He nonchalantly walked through the front doors, and made his way to one of the booths in the very back corner. Many of the immortals inside had stopped mid-sentence to glare at Shinigami, or gawk at his hellish transparent wings. He made no reaction, as he sat down quietly, and observed his surroundings, leaning his chin behind his hands. His black eyes stopped once they fell on Rogue. He knew who she was. He almost knew everyone in this room. But he had been waiting for quite some time, patiently, for the opportunity to get his hands on Rogues soul. He stared at her from across the room, ignoring the glares and whispers of the immortal patrons around him.

Why was he back in New York? Only he and Lucifer himself knew.

Rogue felt the fallen before she saw him.

The blackness and cold where the black diamond had once sat inside the center of her body....the black diamonds that all the Vampire Elders of New York had placed within them, so that in a year's time, they would be able to walk in the sunlight again...Rogue wondered for a moment if it even was worth the sunlight for all this damned darkness, and this cold black...

She tried to keep her attention to Gabriel before her, but she shifted uneasily as the cold gripped her gut from within and twisted. Her eyes shot up and locked on with the fallen. She did not know him, but knew nothing good came from him.

Shinigami's cold gaze pierced through Rogue like glass. As she looked up and their eyes met, Shinigami's black pupils expanded, and he read the aura of her soul. He could sense the hole in the center of her body, and the darkness that came from within it. He stared deep into her eyes, almost as if he was attempting to mesmerize her. In his mind, he began to manipulate the darkness that came from within Rogue, in an attempt at making her even more uncomfortable. The Fallen was merely toying with the Vampire Elder, and he could sense her uncertainty. He was no psychic, but the darkness did not lie. The Void was a product of Hell, and Shinigami knew it well. However, the Void was something that was of its own will, regardless of the fact that its birthplace was in one of the deepest, darkest pits off Hell.

Shinigami made no facial expression as he continued to manipulate the darkness. Everything around him became diluted as he continued gazing into Rogue. A soul to a demon was like blood to a vampire...Demons hungered for them, and lived to gather them in most cases, so that they may devour them and become stronger, more powerful...

He wanted her soul so badly he could almost taste it on his forked tongue. But patience was a necessity for one of his kind.

She grimaced slightly as she felt the cold writhe in her gut as she stared at the fallen. Her lips slightly parted, the grimace of pain deepening, her fangs elongated slowly, and her eyes began to glow emerald, all the while locked onto the fallen's black eyes. Her right hand shot to her gut as the twisting seemed to move in the other direction. Her chest and rib cavity seemed to shudder slightly.

The humans in the club seemed to instinctively move away from him without knowing why, nor paying direct attention.

She could see the wings, easily, as the guise of his appearance shattered to her mind as she stared at him...but her eyes were still locked on the blackness.

"His name was Boris. Not someone sent to protect you but from the same Father."

He had no sooner finished his sentence when she looked away from him and not pleasantly. Naturally he turned slightly to see what was behind him and immediately noticed this freak, that was saying something in a place full of vampires and goth wannabes. This thing stood out. Looking back at Rogue he read her face and knew that she didn't recognize it either but whether or not she knew it it appeared that she did not like it. The way it was looking at her Gabriel did not like, instinctively one of his hands reached out and grabbed her arm firmly and he shifted in a way to better put himself between the two and just looked at her. If conflict could be avoided then that was best in this place, yet as he looked at her his eyes around the pupil were already slightly a light.

"Anyone you know?"

Shinigami looked deeper and deeper into rogue... Letting the darkness from within her become like an outstretched arm of his. A few humans instinctively moved away from where Shinigami sat, but he paid no attention. His only focus as of this moment was Rogue. But then the one sitting next to her moved so that he was blocking Shinigami's view of her. Shinigami's eyes narrowed. This man was getting in the way of Shinigami and his prey. How dare...

And then he realized who this man was. An evil smile instinctively grew on the Fallen's face. He was surprised he did not recognize Gabriel's soul aura. Oh, how Lucifer would be happy to know that Gabriel was here in New York. Shinigami was there when the deal had been struck between Gabriel and Lucifer. However, Gabriel managed to get out of the deal due to the filthy Angel named Uriel, whom Shinigami one day vowed to strike down. Shinigami knew that Lucifer wanted Gabriel's soul back and Shinigami was looking right at him.

He had hit the jackpot.

Shinigami did not care about the lives of the people on earth, nor did he care about the danger he would be putting the lives around them in, if he struck the two of them down. He continued to stare, the desire for both of their souls growing inside his human-like exterior.

Though the humans would not quite hear or recognize the sound, a feral growl rose in Rogue's throat as her fangs were elongated, and the darkness was calling out the Sanguinarian monster within pulling at her thirst, but testing her control.

The emerald fire in her eyes glowing slightly in the club would be evident to Gabriel as her nature was being drawn out.

The cold was slicing through her like a knife. When Gabriel broke the line of vision, she felt the cold die down briefly within her, and she looked him in the eyes, registering his question. She growled again quietly, more in annoyance and anger, then finally controlled herself to speak.

"No. I do not know who this....thing is..."
She was calculating in her mind. He must be some sort of demon. He was no vampire, nor lycan, and tainted was the only viable option she knew of.

"But how could I forget Boris."

Shinigami silently sat there, still staring at Rogue and Gabriel. He could feel her anger arising, and he had noticed her fangs elongate, which meant her Vampiric nature was starting to take control. A soft, dark, and inhuman toned chuckle escaped his throat. His smile faded, and he kept his eyes locked on the two Vampires, as he spiritually contacted his master, Lucifer, and explained the situation. The conversation was one of privacy, and of urgency. The content of the conversation would be left unsaid, but Shinigami knew what was expected of himself.

And he would not fail.

"Is there anyway we can get out of here and make a run for the HQ?"

Gabriel could feel the anger radiating off of her and could feel his blood urging him to stay between her and the creature. That was Father's blood bond, he could resist it but everything in him due to the blood urged him to be around her at all times. Like a third conscience that shut out the little angel and devil on his shoulders. Just when things seemed to be where they could get no worse he felt a presence that not even he liked. And it was coming from the same direction as the darkness behind him. In an almost inaudible whisper he spoke stunned but urgent.

"Lucifer...we cannot do this here. The HQ if possible but a church would be preferable."

Safety, that spelled safety. This thing was connected to a past he would much rather left hidden. Something he would much rather not let Rogue know about...not yet anyway. Or anyone for that matter. Like Rogue his fangs were extended and his blood was already augmenting his strengths, the hand that held her arm already was developing sharper near talon like claws. Fight or Flight, damned human in
stincts.
