Icarus got up as well and also stiffened when the lights went out. She couldn't see as well as Jethrow, but her eyes were adjusting. Suddenly the vampire was shoved away from her, leaving Icarus alone in the dark. But when someone screamed, the nightingale was fed up with these games. The ivory haired girl summoned her fire, lighting the area as she looked around for Jethrow.

When Icarus lit up her fire, Jethrow could see that she was surrounded by dark, sinister shapes. But they were disguised by magic, so he couldn't identify if they were human or not. He tried to push himself up, getting away from the people who were running and screaming. But the doors were barred by another pair of the creatures. Benjamin, concerned for both Icarus and Sophia, held Sophia behind him protectively, but trained his eyes on Icarus. Jethrow lunged towards one of the creatures, only to be struck down.

Icarus saw all the shapes around her. The girl growled a little, but when Jethrow had lunged and was batted away, that pissed her off. She charged one of the creatures, flaming fist aimed to bury into this idiot's skull. She wasn't going to let a simply shadow beat up her boyfriend and endanger her friends.

Jethrow tried to stop Icarus, but one of the creatures stepped on his chest and pressed hard, making breathing difficult. The shapes surrounded Icarus further, fighting against her after she took down one of them.

Icarus beat on the one she had in her grasp and she was merciless. She only stopped when the creature stopped moving and fighting to get up. She got off the downed one to see the others trapping her. Again she growled and flared her flame as if to deter them and warn them what they're getting into.

The creatures tightened their circle around Icarus, but eying the one on the ground, one let out a command in another language. People began to scream as several others appeared on a high balcony above the room, training guns on the party goers. "Come with us peacefully, we will not hurt the others," the one closest to Icarus hissed. Jethrow struggled under the one that held him down. One of the other vampires in the shadows grabbed a random student, holding her hair as she screamed.

Icarus was about to tackled another one when she heard the guns cocking. She growled more and thought. She could probably get them... But she'd most likely get riddled with bullets for it... It seems she didn't have a choice here. At least not yet. Icarus extinguished her flames, but still kept a very aggressive air. "Call off your gun dogs and I might just leave here without a fuss."

The leader waved his hand and the guns moved down to their sides. However, the ones at the door didn't move, the one on Jethrow didn't move, and the girl wasn't released. The leader looked at Icarus expectantly.

Icarus inspected the work, hearing the guns disarm. But she crossed her arms. "As I said. Maybe. Now let my boyfriend up, let that student go, then get your lackeys at the door to move." she said stubbornly. Jethrow wasn't going to like this, but if she could get outside, she could make a run for it.

The leader growled a little and barked a command. The one holding the girl released her, joining the group around Icarus. The one holding down Jethrow lifted up his foot, kicked the vampire for good measure, and then returned as well. The leader waved his hand and the three on the balcony jumped over the railing, and joined the two in front of the door, who then opened it. Students rushed through in a stampede, but when they were gone, Sarah stood in the shadows and Benjamin had dragged Sophia so that they were waiting in the hallway outside. Jethrow tried to get up, but one of the vampires made a threatening gesture, so he stayed where he was. The leader took Icarus' arm and started leading her outside.

Icarus was satisfied that her demands had been met, but growled a little when Jethrow was kicked. She watched as all the students escaped out the open door and she glimpsed Sophia and Benjamin getting away. The girl snarled when the leader grabbed her arm and she tore it out of his grip. "I can walk fine on my own, you a**." she snapped, but did walk with them. All she had to do was get outside then she could cream them thoroughly.

When Jethrow had caught his breath, he leaped to his feet and started after the vampires. One struck him down again, as they left the room. Sarah left the shadows and helped her cousin up, keeping him from running for Icarus. "She can take care of herself. And they clearly don't mind killing you."

Icarus followed the vampires outside, glancing back at Jethrow before she couldn't see him anymore. Once they were out in the night air, Icarus stopped and chuckled some. "If I remember correctly I said I might leave the castle without a fuss. I didn't say I was leaving the grounds. And especially not with you freaks. Now if you'll excuse me." she said, resummoning her fire, making it burn hotter to keep the vampires away. "I'll be heading back inside to my boyfriend."

The vampires growled and started attacking Icarus as one. Except one of them slunk back into the castle. When he came across Benjamin and Sophia, he grabbed Sophia from behind, holding her. Sarah accidentally let Jethrow go, and as he dashed out, she followed. The vampire tripped Jethrow, who went sprawling into Benjamin. The vampire also grabbed Sarah, and holding the two girls, stood ready. Benjamin immediately got up and went after the vampire, but the creature grinned evily and lowered his fangs towards Sophia's neck.

Icarus started to fend them off, swiping at them with the flames that enveloped her arms. She saw one getting away, but that wasn't her concern right now. She had about eight around her right now and they all needed a good beating.
Sophia gasped as she was grabbed by the vampire and cried for Benjamin. She squirmed and squirmed until she saw the creature's fangs nearing her neck. Alright. Now she was pissed. "This is NOT how you treat a lady! Bad vampire!" she snapped and sent her heel right into the vampire's shoe, puncturing it and stabbing the creature right in the foot as a lesson.
