Moonstone shrugged. "Elven armor, what could you expect? And if it's magic, well then it's some pretty nift magic."
He climbed into the saddle behind Onyx, a little apprehensive but ancious to get back to the inn...so that he could sleep. "All right, but you drive."
"Thank you Mrs. Piper." Bode sat down on the bed. Looking up at the woman curiosly. "Are you and Mr Evil Malik in love?"

Piper sat down next to her, ruffling her hair. Okay so Piper had a very soft spot for children. "Well, firstly little one, it's not Mr. Evil Malik, it's just Malik. He only pretends to be evil to keep our own bad people away from us." Though she couldn't help but smile at the girl's full question. "And yes, we are in love." Where upon delivering that answer she outstretched her hand to Bode, letting her see the ring on her finger. "In fact, we're getting married." Another smile...oh lord here came that giddy feeling.

"Mr. Malik." Her eyes were all large and shiny while Piper was talking. "Momy used to say that love softens everybody, cause it's so rare that we can't help but be touched by it." Then she ooooed at the ring. She looked at it, but she didn't touch. She knew adults didn't like it when you touched thier things. "It's pretty! I want a ring too!"

"Iah! Tah!"
And off they went, the lizard's galloping pace, and another encouragement from Onyx to keep it up.
"Tah! come on Ironsides lets make my brother loose his lunch."
A slight chuckle, and a pat on the neck with a lean forward.
Malik came into the Inn, looking very much like he owned the building, and some showed him a bit of respect. mostly the ones that had participated in the wooden swordfight. Malik nodded to them in turn, and went upstairs, and to the room Piper and he shared, and took off his helm, setting it aside and grumbling at a bit of died blood around his temple. Onyx hit damn hard even on elvish armor. The rest came off a bit slowered, checking himself over for any nasty briuses, adn rubbing hsi shoulder that Moonstone had landed a nice hit on..and a couple sore spots in teh ribs form other constestants.
"Nothing like a little violence to make a good day."
The bruises didn't really bother, that was expected. it was the blood in his hair that was going to give piper a heart attack that concerned him.

Ironsides threw himself into a lopsided gallop without any hesitation. Perhaps he liekd hsi rider so much ebcause he was as reckless as the lizard. They picked up some pretty good speed too.
Moonstone thre his arms around his brother's waist, not ready for the sudden lurch forward. He felt like he was going to be jolted from the saddle
"S-slow d-down Onyx!" he did in fact, feel like he would lose what little lunch he had.

Piper nodded to her. "She's right you know. Even the most cold hearted people can't help but feel at least a little something. That's how love works, and it doesn't need a reason and it doesn't follows ruled. Which is a good thing because there are a lot of rules in the world. Sometimes rules are...bad things." Quite the insightful child really. Pulling her hand back she played with her own ring. "You do? Well maybe you can get one as a present. You look responsible enough to me to have something valuable." Though she looked over to the open door of the room, that elvish awareness telling her that Malik was nearby. Though she itched to go see him, she just couldn't leave Bode alone. From what she gathered the child hated being alone. Those cats best get back soon.

Onyx gave a grin, and using the blinders..headed right for the wall of the Inn. of course they made it record time for a lizard runnign through crowded streets..and then a quick jump up the wall, gotta love that and right ot the window thier room was. of course easier for them to hold on wit thier tails and a little bit of claws than using encumbering annoying straps..adn Onyx went through the window first.
"We're home little sister. how'd you like the show?"

She smiled. "I like you. You're a lot like Mommy." Then she looked at her own hand. "Do you really think so? I would like one..." Then Onyx came through the window, and she let out a squeal of deliight. She promptly jumped at him. "Gaurdian Onyx! Your back! I cheered for you the whole time! We could see you fighting cause your easy to see, cause your all black. And a kitty with wings!"
Moonstone came in a little more slowly, keeping one paw on his stomach. "I think that I prefer horses...on every level." Okay, he was pretty sure he could keep it all in, now that he was off the lizard.

Oh good, the felines were back. Which meant she could take her leave of the three and go see who she was really concerned with. "I think she enjoyed it more than most, but she's all tuckered out now." Piper gave them all a smile and a wave. "Goodnight you three, get some rest you're all going to need it tomorrow." With that she left the room, taking the short walk down the hall to the room her and Malik shared. Stepping into the room she shut the door and gave him a once over where she stood. Which raised an eyebrow and threw that concerned look into her eyes. Walking over she came to stand in front of him, looking him over again and then pointing. "That's blood." Oh the tone said it all.

Onyx caught Bode midjump and grinned lightly at Moonstone.
"Oh you know you loved it. your first lizard ride and you got to go up a building. horses can't do that. And thanks little sis, sorry I wasn't able to beat up old Malik. but's he's a tough elf to beat."
And a grin at Piper.
"Thanks for watching her for us."
That instinct thier father had to read body language told him that Piper was dying to see Malik...and she did the second she could get away, adn he grinned at Moonstone.
"Admit it you had fun."
Malik heard her come in, not that he was just in usually around the house clothes and chekcing how back he'd gotten it..when she inspected and pointed out the obvious.
"It's nothing to worry about. just a bit of chainmail gave me a scratch when Onyx clocked me that one time. he's strong like his father, at least for his size. I checked it over and if you want you can look, it really just appears worse than it is."
He took her hand lightly in his and kissed the back of it.
"I saw you get uncomforatble with someone, did your stalker reveal himself?"

"That's okay! Pipers say there will be lots of other times to win!" She yawned, even though she wantd to stay up, she was really tired. "I get to come watch tomorrow right?" SHe laid her head against his furry chest, almost falling asleep right there.
Moonstone shook his head slowly, because he didn't think he could shake his head fast at this point. "No, I don' think I had fun. Why ride a lizard everywhere when you can just fly?" He sat down on the floor, crossing his legs.
"You two can take the bed, I'll just sleep on the floor."
((Sorry, but 2:30 am means bedtime!))

She wanted to fight with him and say it was as bad as it looked...but she bit her tongue on it. Why fuss now over a little wooden sword fight where she could be proved wrong, when she could and most likely would have more than enough reason later to fuss over him. "I'll take your word on it this time." But she smiled at him as he kissed her hand. "You know I just worry." Though that smile fell a little and she had that look of distaste now. "His name is Terran Gale. The first stalker I've known to actually admit to when he is accused. But he is Elvish...if not a little...unsettling." She shook her head. "But that's more likely me...you know, me and other elves don't mix." But then she seemed to give a hard look to Malik. "And you're not supposed to be seeing anything about me when you're in that ring, I thought I told you that."

"Yes I know. I'm the only elf so far you get along with..must be my sexy good looks and that collar."
A small chuckle,
"I know. keep my mind on the task at hand. it was only in periferal vision, barely cuaght but you know me even barely caught with you I remember. Same as by the end of this tournament, I'm sure you'll know every knick and scratch I get before you even see it."

She smiled lightly and rolled her eyes. "Oh that must be it." Sarcasm clearly heard in that one as well as a held back laugh. And at mention of said collar she hooked two fingers under it and tugged out of old habit. Then she crossed her arms. "Must I sit where you can't openly see me? Even in just peripheral vision? And yes, I do suppose I will know about everything before I see it. Then again we're elves with a bond...not like we can avoid the behavior." Dropping her arms she let out a sigh and ran a hand through her hair. "Anyway, you need to rest...catch a reverie for a few hours."

Bode slept peacefully that night. A sleep that she had not had in a long time. Cold nights, rats, and her own fears usually keot her awake most of the time, catching only snippets of naps here and there.
She dreamed of nice things. About her Father, who was comming to get her. About her brothers, who had found her and protect her. And Mrs. Piper and her pretty ring.
